Kolbeh in Worthing

This is the second time we have come with friends. The food here is tasty that’s for sure. I can highly recommend their chicken curry it’s delicious and so is the houmous and the aubergine starters. Even the rice is tasty on its own. The staff are lovely. We just feel that the prices of the mains are a bit steep for the amount of meat you get kebab wise. Don’t let this put you off as we would come again.

All dressed up and somewhere to go. It was crisp March evening, one of us had dressed appropriately for the coastal weather, the other not so much, but not to be disheartened because like every good Middle Eastern girl, I knew what was waiting ... Kolbeh. Okay, so they didn't have a record of my booking, no biggie, and they sat us at a table that made me feel like I was 30ft away from the other half, but they soon moved us to something a little more intimate, a bit more romantic, for the vibes we were going for. Now, I talked a good talk with Kolbeh. 'It's my favourite place babe'. 'You're going to love it', 'I took my dad here and we rave about it all the time'. In truth, I'd been once before, and yes, with my Dad, and about a million years ago, but I still had that mild panic that I'd talked it up too much, the Mrs would be disappointed, she'd look at me with resentment for the rest of our lives and never forgive me. Luckily, Kolbeh is STILL the place to go for good food in Worthing. So the food came and the rest is history. I could eat that Houmous until the day I die. If Kolbeh are employing full time tasters, count me in. I'll do it. Hands down, you will not get food like this anywhere else. Fresh, full of flavour and bringing those Persian tones nicely into our town.

Visited here on a cold wet February Friday and the place was busy. Mixed starters were good with lovely bread and the mains were excellent with good cuts of meat and tasty rice. Service was a little over attentive but better this than the alternative. Great Iranian food at good prices.

Lovely food, including the best hummus in town. Lamb and chicken both beautifully cooked and very tasty. Shiraz wine delicious. Restaurant hides itself well, no menu board outside and entrance upstairs, but is a welcome addition to the town. We'll be back.

This morning, after eating at Kolbeh, my partner said "Well, at least I wasn't sick" which is about the best thing we could say about the place. The lamb and the 'Angus steak' meatballs were both spongy in the way that supermarket food is when cheap ingredients have been minced very finely and then re-constituted and the chicken wings were scrawny and undercooked. I put on my reading glasses in an attempt to find a small amount of chicken worth eating but failed. Un-fortunately my partner ate some of the chicken which is probably why she felt like she was going to be sick while I mercifully escaped the nausea. Aside from the poor food the place had no ambience and was too cold. Service was fine but it's not going to make up for the terrible food. We went for my partners 50th birthday after reading the inexplicably good reviews on here-never again. If you're looking for middle-eastern food in Worthing I'd recommend going to EFES-it's infinitely superior.

Great meal , I had chicken thighs which were delicious. My friends hsd lamb which was also delicious. Great service. Wish we lived nearer. Was in town for a concert at the Assembly Hall.

It was too cold and smokey in there last night. It spoiled my enjoyment. Had to keep my coat on. Food was nice and well presented. Men's toilet door could do with an engaged sign handle lock too.

Had a lovely meal with friends last night at this restaurant. Definitely a hidden gem in Worthing. The food was out of this world. The waiter was entertaining too.

If you like Middle Eastern food, you will love this restaurant. We had Koobideh (mince lamb skewer) and tender lamb mini steaks. Both came with a very nice salad garnish and complimentary chilli sauce if you ask for it. The food was very well prepared and presented. The service was friendly and efficient. They also had a nice Lebanese red wine. The Restaurant is spacious with no loud music so for us was an excellent experience all round.

Lovely meal for my partners Birthday. The starter was a feta and salad/ flatbread combo and was sooo fresh and a nice light start to the meal. The mains were also great! I had the corn fed chicken skewer, comes with saffron rice, yoghurt dip and salad! It was such good quality meat and all so tasty and fresh! I ate it all even tho it was a generous portion as it was so good. My partner had the lamb and he was also a huge fan! On top of this very friendly and accommodating service. It was a bit more pricey than a standard restaurant but we were happy to pay this given the standards of the food.

Hard to find but well worth it. The food is excellent and good value if not great for veggies. There are some veggie mains. The meat is beautifully tender and tasty. The ambience is perfect. The staff are really helpful. Highly recommended.

. Kolbeh was very hidden but well worth the trip. We had chicken thigh ( boneless and rice and salad and yoghurt) was so delicious 😋. I had a pushchair which the staff assisted in helping carry up the stairs and be aware no changing facilities if you have children but apart from that food spot on and big portions so sharing can work well. Flavours amazing . Did not have desert as was too full. Would be great to find menu online as couldn't find prior to trip.

I booked a table for two to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We were warmly greeted on arrival and shown to our table by a very cheerful member of staff who brought menus and took our order for drinks. The menu is very varied, catering for all types of diet. We ordered and subsequently enjoyed each and every dish. There was plenty of delicious food in every course (of three), all beautifully prepared and cooked. When I asked for the bill, they brought a generous slice of cake topped with a lit candle and sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to my wife. A very pleasant evening; we will return!

Dinner on first night in Worthing. I had a Ghormeh Sabzi - wife had Aubergine Sabzi - and daughter had Ghormeh Shahi - all three dishes were incredibly high quality - coupled with one of the best lebanese wines i've ever had - meant it was best dinner we've had for some time.

Lovely food and service. I would advise them to dim the lights a little to create a better atmosphere and maybe add candles to the tables. Shame that a large rowdy table of lads ruined what would be a lovely romantic meal, but you cant turn away custom I understand that. Would return to this restaurant. Don't be put off that you cant see the restaurant from the road, you will be pleasantly surprised.

Visited Kolbeh for the first time yesterday. All I can say is amazing food and great service. Would highly recommend it and will be a frequent visitor.

Great food and great service The restaurant is beautifully decorated definitely go again. Four of us ordered different dishes all beautifully presented. Next time I’ll try the berry on my saffron rice. Reasonable pricing

Our second visit to Kolbeh and once again we enjoyed a lovely evening. The food was great as was the wine. The waiting staff were very efficient and attentive. Our table was at 8.30pm and it was clear that being the last guests at 10.45pm it was time to go (we weren't offered coffee although I don't know if that is standard practice or not). We all enjoyed our food, starters, mains and dessert including our vegetarian friend. I particularly enjoy their saffron basmati rice! The only negative comment is we were a little confused with the room decoration thinking it a little early for Christmas. Given the amount of dust on the giant baubles hanging from the ceiling we figured they must have been up there since last Christmas. Having said that we will return.

The staff were very friendly and attentive.The food was delicious especially the chicken which was marinated well.The kofte kebab was not as delicious but good.The portion sizes were very good. We couldnt have the baklava because the ice cream was not available. Previous reviews on here speak very highly of it so hoping they have it the next time we visit.

Starters were really good. The place is quite nice and cozy. The mains were of good amount especially the rice and meat. Good portion. The food tasted good. We had chicken and lamb skewers. Would definitely recommend.

Stark interior - painted black Service attentive but I felt a little rushed We chose a Sabzi and a Shahi - lamb stew and chicken stew. Both were tasty. The lamb dish was substantial, the chicken dish was small. The ice cream with baklava was delicious. House red wine good. Cost with one starter - Kashkeh Bademjoon £64. The meal left us with chronic indigestion.

Fabulous Lunch today - we shared three cold starters and a hot starter. The salad and flat bread were great. The warm aubergine dish was amazing. Great fresh food, great flavours, good decor and perfect service.

Went to Kolbeh on a Thursday evening and whilst it wasn’t overly busy, it still had a nice atmosphere. It’s very nicely decorated. Service was relaxed, friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. Everything tasted so fresh and full of flavour. Nice size portions too. Between the four of us, we had two chicken dishes and two veggie dishes, and all of us loved it. I’d definitely recommend and will be visiting again.

My wife and I took my mum there for her birthday and she loved it. The food was unbelievably good, highly recommend. Really big portion sizes and great service, extremely friendly.

Not so easy to find the entrance (we needed to ask, so maybe a sign should be put in place to show where it is), lovely environment and delicious food reasonably priced. Highly recommended!

Consistently a cut above. The fresh and flavorful food is unique and offers an experience that takes you back to a Persian oasis. Great people provide an amazing experience for all.

By mistake I ordered food from another restaurant near to kolbeh, oh my god big mistake! I was so disappointed, Kolbeh has really great food which I recommend highly! I learned my lesson and won’t do this mistake again.
