King Do Chinese Takeaway in Darlington

i place my order. and left a note say no peas in the chicken foo young. but but they don't read message as there was peas in the chicken egg foo young. so very disappointed as i have a allergy to peas

2 hours from order to delivery.

From ordering to arriving was over 2 hours and the delivery was 45 mins late. Ordered a small munchie box and the food had obviously been sitting a while as it was cold and stuck to the paper, the box was soggy, no communication from the restaurant and was refused a partial refund. Disappointing as I’ve used these several times . Food went in the bin, I understand that it gets busy but that shouldn’t comprise communication or the quality.

ordered chips and curry sauce but got chips rice and curry sauce. Was still nice just not what I ordered

Ordered honey chili chicken which arrived dry no sauce in it couldn't taste honey. Also ordered honey spare ribs again came dry no honey sauce at all. Real shame as its always lovely but very dry this evening not sure if chef has changed

The chicken was like rubber the sauce had no taste. The prawn crackers were stale

Salt and pepper chips were soggy and tasteless and chicken in chow mein was like jelly. Defo won’t be ordering again

Chicken satay skewers were excellent - highly recommend! The pretty little lady at the till is very jolly and friendly - she always makes my day! She looks as good as the food!

It's been over the eta time given. I called up to see where the order was and they have just started cooking it. I don't know what they have been doing the past hour but very disappointed. Was also very confused as before I called to find out where the food is, they have listed the order as delivered. It is not delivered as they have just started cooking it.

Chicken balls were disgusting, chips reheated gravey wasnt lovely like usaul it was disguting

Best chinese food! Perfect portion sizes, Crispy spring rolls are so yummy & the noodles were perfect! Asked for some mushrooms added & notes were followed! Would definitely recommend! Tastes unbelievable

food was an hour late & chicken was very slimy. chips had little flavour, i didn’t even finish the meal because it was just bad. i wouldn’t usually leave a review but the food was not worth the wait at all. very disappointing as i’ve had good food from here in the past

First time ordering from this takeaway and it was lovely. The delivery was fast and the food was delicious! Will definitely be ordering from here again.

Phoned when it was late by 15 minutes to be told it was ready to leave and they were waiting for a driver. Phone 30 mins later to be told it had JUST left. Another 20 minutes later it was delivered. The food was boiling hot. How? when it had been ready at this point for at least 50 minutes. The chips were rubbery and the rest was just OK.

Used to go to this Chinese Takeaway many years ago (70's & 80's) when I lived in the area. It was called the Yangtse River back then. It's great to find out that the food is still as great as it used to be, even though there must have been many name and ownership changes in the meantime. A real nostalgia trip for me. As traditional as the Darlington Savoury!

Ordered mixed grill no description available to know what you get. Steak was really tough and full of fat and gristle. Not pleasant at all. Also ordered chilli salt and pepper chips and received plain one. Very disappointed and won't be back

Over an hour late. Phoned twice and told, on both occasions, it was on it's way. Spring rolls were cold, chicken texture poor, ribs were just that!

There wasnt much meat on the ribs, chips were soggy, prawn toast over cooked. The sauce was nice, egg fried rice and the spring rolls were nice.

Chow mein far to salty to the point it was inedible

The food is normally nice, but we got the same as usual last night and it was very poor. The so called egg fried rice, was just like a mushy boiled rice brick . Hence to say they were binned.

They got the order wrong. We were given a portion of chips instead of a main of chicken balls. Disappointing!

The food was cold when I got it

The sides were fine no complaints (chips, rice, noodles) but the two main dishes were inedible unfortunately.

The chicken chow mein was ok but the salt and pepper chips were completely undercooked. Curry sauce arrived pretty much solidified. I also ordered a bottle of sprite which was over a year out of date. Had good experiences here in the past but not this time unfortunately. Won’t be ordering from here again.

Had our first take away delivered and it was delicious. Thoroghly enjoyed it. We had chicken curry , egg fried rice and chips. Did 2, of us easy. Delivery driver was also really friendly and nice.

Rice and chips undercooked, had to throw half in the airfryer and other half in the wok to get it ready. The curry sauce was amazing though, best I've had in a while.

Have been regular customers here for a while now, food started off beautiful, but the order we recieved tonight was less than impressive! Omelette was burnt and the chicken was grey and stringy 🤢 they forgot to send rice so we had to collect as noone was answering the phone, after paying delivert fee this is a joke. £40 down the drain wont use again

Used king do before and was alright. But the last couple of times I have used the takeaway the food hasn't been nice at all. Also the price has went up alot. Also meals missing on orders and ask for no pea ls in the meals but they stil out then I'm, Wouldn't recommend at all.

Soggy mushy wet chips Not one full rib in the ribs - all just little bits of gristle Smallest portion of honey chilli beef I’ve ever received from anywhere but at least that was nice. Thought the long delivery time and price meant that food would be good but it was not.

One hour late could find my address and meal was stone cold and missed of egg fried rice to go with meal didn't deliver my refund money has well not happy and wouldn't ever go here again

Brilliant food as always, the best Chinese takeaway!

Order arrived with an item missing which meant one person's meal couldnt be eaten until the other half arrived, so they waited 2 hours. Manager tried to argue that it wasn't missing then begrudgingly sent it but the other person had finished their meal by the time it came. Gravy as always was spot on, chow mein great, rice was fine, chips seemed dry and unfortunately prawn crackers were old because they were solid. Dissapointing meal from our favourite takeaway with poor customer service and no gesture of good will.

I rang the restaurant requesting curry with my order as does not give option to pick what sauce you’d like. They said it was fine then when my order turned up it didn’t have any sauce whatsoever. I rang the restaurant 8 times and kept going to voicemail even though it was still open for an half an hour. Poor customer service.

I visited the UK for the first time and craving for Chinese food. I never hesitate to walk a little over a mile to get King Do Food, the staff and owner, Kim, are so friendly and the food is delicious and speedy. Enjoy your day to the fullest! ♥️

I hardly ever write these reviews but this place really suprised me and so i decided to write one this time. By far my best delivery chinese to date and I've tried a few over the last few months looking for a "good" one and this one was really great!! The food came on time, it was very neat and individually wrapped in wax paper, no messes and spills. The food smelled devine, was piping hot and tasted freshly cooked and delicious! Also, have to say the delivery man that brought it was also lovely and friendly - a bonus!
