Khimuk in Walsall

The most disgusting and over priced food. Fish and chips was £10 and consisted a 15cm piece of fish which was soggy and disgusting. Paid about £5 for a korma plus extra for chicken so basically paid £5 for a cold load of korma sauce and hardly any chicken which I paid extra for. Salad was off it was brown and not fresh at all. Omelette was about £6 which was plain and consisted of about 4 eggs which costs about 40p and it was microwaved. The food was appalling and I called to complain and they offered to send more disgusting food out which I obviously refused. Should be called KhiMUCK instead. Horrible experience food all thrown in the bin oh and ordered chicken curry which was covered in grease and had clearly been microwaved.

Had an amazing meal for New Years Eve followed by a few tunes and dances. Staff in here fabulous as always.

Had a great Christmas Day experience with my family, great atmosphere. Food was amazing and will be definitely going back

Hi my name is Glen and i have been ordering from Chef Abdul Malik for a couple of months now and i must say that his curries are the best i have ever tasted. The chef is an amazing cook and deserves to be rewarded for his talent. I would recommend everyone to please go and try out the dishes at The Royal Shireens. Once you have tried it you will always want to come back for more. AMAZING FOOD, THE BEST I HAVE EVER TASTED!

First time eating at an Indian restaurant for Christmas Dinner, very competitively priced for what was on offer (5 courses for £30).Really enjoyed how there was two menues Indian and traditional which catered for all. It's only fair to point out that we were delayed till we sat down and had our courses however it was clear to see how busy they were and the staff were doing everything they could to keep the servise flowing. We were in no rush to get our food therefore we were happy in our own company drinking away.We were all too stuffed for pudding however we were able to take some away.Mo also sorted us all out with some extras. Over all great experience and will defenetly be back again.

Booking made in sept for 2.30pm ... not seated until 3.10 & 1st course took 45 min to arrive. All courses average at best, only luke warm with main course mashed potato aweful. No Xmas puddings left despite sept pre-order & didn’t even tell us just placed choc fudge cake on table. Loads of other people complaining & will not return.

The staff/ management at this restaurant really know how to welcome their customers.From the moment we walked in (me & a friend) we were made to feel at ease and nothing was too much effort. The food was lovely and fresh , with great flavours.The chef was even happy to adapt some dishes for us to combined two favourites as we could not make up our minds on what to haveWe had originally planned to go to another restaurant in the area but were disappointed on arrival and came here instead. Happened to stumble upon a gem.We WILL be going back !Great people, great food, great atmosphere .

I have some advice for the management. If you have what I can only assume was a works Christmas party booked for 40+ people and then take bookings for other people on the same night, I suggest you inform those other guests of the large party so that they can make an informed decision as to whether they want to share their evening with a noisy, raucous group of people. Having read a good write up in the Chronicle we booked what was supposed to be a pleasant evening to celebrate my birthday. Had we known there was such a large party booked for the same night we would have chosen a different venue. I have no problem with the large party... they were enjoying themselves singing , shrieking and generally having a good time but for anyone else sitting nearby, the noise was deafening and you could not have a conversation as it was just too loud. Firstly, we had booked a table for 8pm but weren’t seated until 8.30pm Secondly, as it was such a large party in before us, it took ages for us to be served. The food was generally ok but the whole experience was marred by the noise. Had the Management had a little more thought for the other guests they would not have taken on so many bookings on top of this large party as I’m sure we weren’t the only one’s that had their evening spoiled. It felt like it didn’t matter whether we were comfortable or not as long as they were making money. Had they said something about the large party when making the booking we would have appreciated their honesty and have perhaps arranged to go on another evening . In fairness they did give us an extra poppadom for being seated late but this in no way made up for our evening being spoiled. It’s a shame as it had such a good write up but it did not live up to expectation.

Amazing as always.... They don't always get it perfect but what I really like about Khimuk is you can tell how fresh the food is and the quality in comparison to other Indians. I also think it's great how they have a 5 star hygiene rating. This is what keeps us going back. It's also a lovely place to dine in so would recommend that also

So this has been our 3rd visit in about a month. Food has always been good. However on our last 2 visits the service has not been up to scratch. We visited earlier this week - about 9 of us. Meals arrived but one of our party had a problem with her meal. No one had come to check if our meals were ok (as you should) and one of us resorted to getting up and going to the kitchen to get someone in charge out. They seemed to want to argue there was nothing wrong with the meal in question but replaced it with a fresh one which was spot on. The point is there WAS something wrong as it was corrected second time round. When our smaller group visited on a sunday night w2 weeks back we had same slow una tentive service. Meals flying out to waiting cars outside , but we had to wait 40 mins for mains. I complained and didnt get an apology but an explanation that they were so busy with "just eat" orders and he was trying his best. Not good enough for those waiting in the restaurant. Going to try elsewhere now as since its become the most popular restaurant in Aldridge they are resting on their laurels! Time for somewhere new where they DO value the custom.

Excellent food, amazing service not like the other restaurants in the area hovering over you like a fly, and well priced.

Only time in my life I have sent my food back and asked for it to be taken off the bill. Food was stone cold and simply awful (look and taste). Restautant Royal Shireens no longer exists - restautant has been re branded Khimuk. You also need to bring your own alcohol if you want to drink. We had staters and mains and end to end it took nearly 3 hrs and the restaurant was not busy - service was poor

Thought we were going to Royal Shireen but turn up and does not exist. Management tell us that Khimuk is the same staff but a new name. NO IT IS NOT. Food was really bad. Crispy Calamari served Luke warm in a brown sludge. Inedible

Visited with a large group of friends, service was good and the food excellent. I had the North Indian Garlic Chilli Chicken and it was full of flavour and a good sized portion. I also tried the Massala Chips, bit too sweet for me, pleasant enough. Thoroughly recommended!

A choice of straightforward Indian restaurant food or Pan-Asian cuisine. Or do what i did and have an Indian starter and a pan-asian main course. This is the second time we've visited and will certainly be coming back when we're over this way. The food was plentiful and excellent quality; the staff friendly and attentive; and all at a very reasonable price. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough - and obviously other people feel the same as it's recently won an award for the best new restaurant in (??) the midlands.

First time we we have had a takeaway and it will be the last ! Food was tasteless watery curry, they forgot to put the rice in ! Seemed like they were more interested in the just eat orders ! ..won’t be going back .

We have used this restaurant regularly since it opened for the simple reason that the food is always great. The service is also great. This is regardless of there being two eating through to twenty, or a quick takeaway. Always consistently great.

We have been to Shireen's numerous times in the past but not since it has been taken over so decided to try it on Friday night (4 of us), we definitely won't be back again. When we arrived it was pretty much empty apart from 2 other tables so we didn't think it would take too long for the food to arrive, we were wrong. The time between the starters and mains was really long, we weren't too fussed as not in a rush but we did comment on how long it was taking. Food was average, definitely nothing special and in general not much taste. Then came the problem, the bill arrived and it was around £72. As we were 2 couples and had different items, we decided to add our own bill up separately, but when we tried to add ours and theirs together it didn't add up correctly. I said to add everything up on the bill to check it was correct and the total came to £65... so somehow there was a random £7 added on. If we hadn't of added up the bill ourselves we would never have noticed, it worries me that they do this to others and normally people don't think to check. Also £7 is a very random amount so I can't see how this was an accidental error. My husband told one of the waitresses who apologised and corrected the bill. My friend then sat with her card waiting to pay her half to be ignored for quite a while. Eventually a large man (think he may be the owner or manager) walked past and she said could I pay by card please, he responded with a grunt 'card machine has been down for a few days' and walked off.. It would have been nice to have been told this on arrival as people don't always carry cash! His attitude was so bad, he was really rude for no reason at all (or maybe the reason was that we found out he tried to overcharge us). We lent our friend the cash to pay and when we got up to leave the large grunting man beckoned over a waiter and pointed to us and asked him to check our money, blatantly right in front of us trying to say we hadn't paid the correct amount. We are not awkward people, we never complain and we are always polite so to be treated like this was really shocking. I'll never return, there are endless other places in Aldridge that I'd rather spend my money.

We ordered salmon Tikka starter. Mixed kebab starter for main we had potley chicken, North Indian garlic chillli chicken veg rice.

More refined than your average Indian restaurant. You can tell a bit more pride is taken in the preparation and cooking. Love the Tawa dishes. Actually had our Christmas dinner here and loved it.

Booked this restaurant for a birthday celebration and it was unbelievable from start to finish from the food to the service - the young waiter did everything to make our visit special, he was funny down to earth and really welcoming. Food was amazing will definitely be returning.

I have visited this restaurant twice now. Both times i’ve Ordered wasabi prawns for starter and cashew nuts with chicken for main. I haven’t been disappointed. The dishes were full of flavour and just the way I like it.

We thought that we would give this restaurant a try after reading all the good reviews. We had the Thai green curry the sauce was much to thick but tasty and a Balti king prawn dish which was not the best and a little bland. Don’t think we will be returning sorry!

Fantastic food and service as always. Mo and his team are amazing always get a warm welcome and first class service. Nothing is too much trouble. Would recommend to family,friends and everyone to give it a try. Best Indian around. My favourite place to eat.

Recent visit came away really impressed.

Our first visit was on the whole very good, friendly efficient service. Take your own wine and beer, we we're a party of 4 three of the meals were very good, the fourth was very tasty but some of the duck was a little tough. Our first visit but it won't be our last overall we had a great time.

Very tasty curries, been to all of the Indian restaurants in Aldridge and this one is by far the best. Excellent size portions, lots of choice and great value for money!

Just tried here tonight for the first time. I really wanted thai and my partner was pleased as he wanted indian food. Both dishes were beautiful and loved the extras (not charged for) like prawn crackers and popadoms. Will be ordering again, or maybe dining in there at some point! Thanks.

Never visited before and saw advertised on Facebook, thought would give it a go. Very mixed reviews reading online however I would definitely recommend visiting , great value for money. Lovely tasting food, plenty of variety and amazing staff members. Decorated very nicely and attompshere was very modern and welcoming. Will be returning again soon

Booked a table midweek for 15 friends. Loved the interior of the restaurant,particularly the wall painting ! Friendly and attentive staff. Varied menu with traditional curry house options and pan Asian dishes too. Despite being so many of us,our order was spot on.The food all came out together, was hot and really tasty . Couldnt fault the service or the food !

We visited the royal shireens in March 2019.Starters arrived very small no side salad and a tiny bit of mint sauce to share between 4 people and 6 pappadoms also came with a bag of pulped onions around the size of a golf ball.Then came the mains all 4 if us had different dishes,but they all tasted the same,and looked the same tomato based.No flavour and certainly no spice.We have tried all the curry houses in Aldridge and the best one is definitely REGARDS give all the others a miss.

We had a takeaway from this place. My wife’s salmon was very nice. I had a lamb rogan but it was very runny but still tasted nice. This would have been a 5 out of 5 but what let it down was I ordered a green salad to go with my main dish and instead of a tub of green salad it came all mashed up in a little bag, about a golf ball size. Very weird. Anyway we will give it another go soon.

This place took us by surprise . I have one place I eat a curry and didn’t think I would find any place that measured up to the flavour and taste I have experienced in my local curry house. But, I have to say the Royal Shireens did it . So yummy and nicely decorated too . It had a warm ambience to it all and also added bonus bringing your own drink which is always a winner if you ask me . Defo go again . Complete new refurb and changed their name but you find it on the high street 4 exit off the island passed the shopping Center .

Had a post-birthday family meal tonight at Khimuk (used to be Shireens). We had a bit of an unusual request but the staff were extremely accommodating! The welcome was great, staff very attentive and friendly and the food was excellent. The interior is well thought out and the hand painted wall murals are stunning (took a week to paint)!

Ordered a takeaway via just eat, food was of a very high standard as usual. Will definitely be pressing the order button again.

Visited this restaurant for the first time as reviews said how good it was. I was not disappointed. There were 13 of us out for my birthday and I have to say the food was amazing it was the best curry I have had by far. All of our party enjoyed their meal complimenting the food on how nice it was. Myself and my housemate ordered for the first time on christmas eve, and it most definitely won’t be the last!

My husband and I are new to Aldridge, we were intending on trying every curry house until we came here. We shan’t be bothering with the rest now! The naga is sensational and the service is second to none. BYOB makes it super affordable and the ambiance and decor are lovely :)

We visited Royal Shireens this weekend and it was the best meal we have ever had there, credit to the new chef!! 5* for food, service and hygiene. A lovely, relaxed environment suitable for couples, friends and families.

I visited here with family as it was recommended by others on here. They wasn’t wrong! The service was spot on, the food was very fresh and tasty, the best curry we’ve ever had! The place itself is very stylish and modern and the staff where very friendly and couldn’t do anything more for us. I will definitely return when I come back to visit family. Just wish we lived closer to visit more often. Lovely from start to finish!!

Second visit to Shireen, preferred the first time prior to it becoming Royal Shireen. The service was without fault and quite warm, especially the bartender. The cocktails were enjoyable and good value at 2 for £8 on a Sunday. We took a risk and tried the Sunday Buffet, quite a convoluted process if there are several of you. Wouldn’t recommend that process - but standard of food is good. Would go again but just order individually from the menu.

Attentive service and delicious food, what more can I say. They catered for 15 of us with ease and made us feel so welcome.

Went to Royal Shireens last night we had been before previous to its revamp and it was good then but last night changed the ball post all together. We booked a table for 6pm was nice and quiet what we prefer but don’t be fooled by 7/7.30 the place is busy so make sure you book! The customer service was second to none I had ordered a starter wrong, completely my fault a helpful member of staff explained what I had done and instead of leaving it at that he ordered me what I actually wanted at no extra cost. The curry was by far at the best I’ve ever had within the Walsall area the atmosphere was perfect staff friendly helpful and welcoming all the same time. Plus the options of cocktail and drinks at reasonable prices now makes this venue a true contender! Will definitely be returning!!

Went with friends so the most important thing was to catch up with each other. However, we were kept waiting for ages. Understand that there were a lot of us!

We went here for dinner mid week. At 6.30, it was already busy, a good sign. The service was friendly without being intrusive. The food was spicy without being just hot and the owner took time to explain some of the dishes to me. Overall, an excellent experience.

1st visit here & not disappointed - great surroundings with nearby parking - very friendly & helpful staff - nothing too much trouble - food delicious & plentiful portions - had chicken tikka starter with Chicken & Mushroom Balti - would highly recommend a visit

This is most definitely the best place for a curry! I love Royal Shireens. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. My favourite dish has to be the Paneer Tikka Masala with chilli naan.

Had a great night celebrating my wife's 60th birthday. Staff were most welcoming and attentive. They went to great lengths to make sure everything went smoothly and it was s memorable night. Food was excellent and served promptly and accurately, which was impressive for a party of 20. Highly recommended!

I arranged a night at Shireens after hearing so many good remarks about this restaurant,well its definately lived up to the recommendations,We had the four course special menu ,costing us only £11.95 each which is served mon to thurs,popadoms and pickles etc to start,chicken ticka starter,chicken balti and garlic naan bread,what a fabulous meal I had,my friends chose differently and were all very satisfied with their choices too,The waiter whos name was Mo was very pleasant,helpful and obliging,hes a credit to the team,We are planning to go again in the near future and will definately be recommending Sharrines to anybody wanting a good night out with a fantastic choice of menu at an affordable price.

They serve the best vegetarian meals I have had in an Indian restaurant. Every meal you can choose with meat you can have a veggie option.

went here with a group of friends on a Friday night. the restaurant had been recommended to us so we thought let's give it ago....and we're glad we did. restaurant was busy with a good atmosphere, service was fantastic considering how busy they we're, waiters were very attentive and took time to make us feel welcome, tell us about offers and made good suggestion on what popular dishes they had. outstanding service.

I've seen reviews of this restaurant, so I thought Id try this place out with family, shocker of an experience. The service was absolutely disgraceful, waiters weren't bothered as far as I'm concerned, and the food was bland and had a hair in it, I told one of the waiters he was very apologetic, but it spoiled our family evening. Before applying my review I checked the hygiene rating out of curiosity. Seems like the ratings accounts towards the food and service which is a low 1 rating. Wouldn't recommend or use again

I was expecting little but i was blown away by this place...authentic, genuine, hard working staff.. the service was fab....ive eaten at lots of restsurants but this is genuine bengali food at its best....dont bother with the others on the high street this is good hearty authentic food..

Just had a brilliant evening at Shireens in Aldridge . Excellent food , and great service from really friendly staff . There were 70 of us from Aldridge Running Club so the whole restaurant was full & buzzing ! All the meals were served in really good time & was very tasty . We all enjoyed a lovely evening. Staff were brilliant. I would highly recommend them .

Can't say anything negative about this restaurant. The food is top class, the staff are very friendly including the owners, the prices are cheap and the service is second to none.

Came here with my colleagues and it's absolutely brilliant, the food is matched only by the service which is also superb, I think the dhansak here is the best one I've had and I'd love to return soon, the owner is a real character too and should be congratulated on such a great establishment

Ate here on Friday 18 August. Good service and great food as always (go here once or twice per month minimum). I particularly like 'fish curry'. I'm assured that all the other curries are good too, but I always have the fish here! Jay and his staff make you feel like one of the family - great dining experience.

Shireen's was recommended to me by a friend so my wife and I gave it a try tonight, so glad I did the food was excellent and the staff were really friendly. My wife is a vegetarian and very fussy but nothing was too much trouble without doubt I will be visiting Shireen's again and with no hesitation will be recommending them to my friends thanks again to all the staff keep up the good work

Shireens used to be a firm favourite of ours visiting at least once a month staff were brilliant and the food good I have even recommended to other people ( the last time they weren't impressed either) Our last twice were terrible we went back as we thought it was a one off second time even worse and the staff weren't interested the lamb was nothing but gristle fat and inedible the chops were burnt and hard and the staff were waiting for nightfall as it was Ramadan and all they wanted to do was close the restaurant so they could eat. Hav9worked in the catering industry most of my life many time we were so busy we did not have time to eat but never did we make our customers feel unwanted and in the way. Never again
