Visited the outlet store in the market kitchen been twice before and it been wonderful. This visit was shocking. Ordered food and a portion of child for my daughter, being 2 years old thats all she really wanted. Buzzer went off I went to go collect, chips were missing. I don't like how they just leave the food there, no ticket to match it to your order if you're unsure whats yours. She said to take the buzzer back with us. Didn't go off for ages so I went back. She'd forgotten after ignoring me stood there waiting to speak to someone. She chucked some chips in the fryer and I stood there not wanting to go back to the table and be forgotten about again. But she told me to take the buzzer again. When it went off again I went to collect the chips and was told that I should try another kiosk for ketchup. Chips back at the table.... Weren't cooked. Went back again. And got a refund. Server wasn't even that bothered I'd had to make 3 trips for their mistake with hardly a sorry for the inconvenience. Had a hair and a piece of plastic in food Went to pou poutine Nd asked for plain chips. No issues what so ever. AND GOT SAUCE. An issue with how the market area is run is everything is single use and disposable which is so wasteful. Perhaps the restaurant is better.

I went to order food at 8.30pm on friday the 29th of April and the young lady who eventually came to take my order after ignoring me for close to 4 minutes was exceptionally rude . I asked for the Thai green curry and Pad Kra Pow to which she snapped at me " WHAT MEAT " after i replied Chicken she shoved the card machine in my face without saying a word , i informed her that i would like to pay cash to which she rolled her eyes and said " WE HAVE NO CHANGE YOU KNOW " at that point i passed her my £20 and told her to forget the change , she slammed the order buzzer in front of me then walked off. Eventually my buzzer let me know that my food was ready , so i went to the counter and there was a tray left on the side , she was in the back with back to me so i asked if this was for me " WHAT DO YOU THINK ?" was the lovely reply i got from her. The food was fantastic but i will absolutely not be giving her a wage in the future. Awful woman, very disappointed.

Sky lounge Barnsley Nice food would give 4* but the single use plastic cutlery that goes straight in he bin is unacceptable. Come on guys - move to reusable cutlery ASAP

Having been to Thailand and a lover of Thai food, we like to try various places to eat local to us in Yorkshire. I noticed this restaurant appear on a local Facebook page and saw good reviews so decided to try it last night. I have to say it was just average. It was better than a Chinese takeaways attempt at thai dishes but not as good as some other genuine Thai restaurants we’ve eaten at. We had prawn tempura and chicken satay starter (the peanut sauce was missing for the chicken) then the main dishes, chicken Penang and chicken pad prik king with jasmine rice. The takeaway prices were same as in the restaurant and at £22.10 i thought it was overpriced for what we got.

Had a takeaway for first time tonight . The receptionist was lovely, She was thorough, checking if we had any allergies when we ordered . We had a curry dish and a stir fry dish , both gorgeous. Will definitely order again and recommend this restaurant as a takeaway but we hope to have a sit down meal next time too. An absolute gem .

I’ve been here a few times now and every time the food has been absolutely superb. Definitely my favourite Thai place in South Yorkshire. More a cafe than a restaurant, which makes it even better in my opinion. Very reasonably priced and authentic. Their minced pork Pad Kra Pow is knockout (get it spicy). No licence but I think you can BYO. I would happily eat here many times each week either alone, with my wife or as a Family. Love it.

Tucked away in a small cul de sac off the Doncaster Road in Barnsley this little Thai restaurant is little known or spoken about,we ate there for the first time and had a wonderful experience.Greeted with a lovely smile by one of the 3 ladies who run the restaurant,we were helped to understand the menu,as we were not very familiar with a lot of Thai dishes. Having ordered,we were served quickly with the most delicious food ,from a great veg stir fry with chicken to delicious juicy king prawns in breadcrumbsm with a sweet chilli sauce, everything was freshly cooked and served with a smile and the attention to detail is to be commended.you can bring your own alcohol, which really does save a lot of money and make a meal for two at about £20,great value for top quality food and service do try it out if you are in Barnsley for lunch, dinner or take away and delivery, this new place is a little nugget in the sea of so many mediocre Barnsley restaurants. We will be returning.

Small, clean Thai cafe. Service was very friendly and welcoming. Then there’s the food. Easily the best Thai food I have eaten in years. I’ve been to fancy Thai restaurants and paid double what I’ve paid here and the food was not half as good. Such great value for what you get. The Tom Yum Prawn soup is the best soup I have ever tasted... Brilliant place

We visited one evening without a booking which I was advised you need to do at weekends. I ordered a chicken & prawn Tom Yum soup spicy as a starter which came with fresh ingredients and was very tasty and the portion size was adequate I followed it with a red curry again I asked for it to be spicy it was very good however the portion size was only okay. The food is all prepared by the owner on site and the serving staff were superb. This is an alcohol free cafe and the decor is basic but you don’t come here for the decor you come for the food and service. I will definitely be returning.

Was brought here by my dad on a Wednesday evening & was instantly greeted and welcomed in by the smiling and attentive staff. Despite the restaurant being empty, it had a very chilled overall feel. For starters we shared the vegetable spring rolls (I am a Vegetarian) which were lovely and clearly home-made. For the main I ordered myself Thai Noodle Soup - you could decide which base to have out of vegetable, pork, beef, chicken or prawn & also choose from a selection of home-made Thai stocks - I went for the Vegetable base with Tom Yum which was delicious & tasted extremely fresh. My dad chose the Prawn Pad-Thai which he claimed was beautiful. For a starter, two mains, 2 canned drinks & 2 Jasmine tea's the total came to £22 which I believe is extremely reasonable for such fresh, tasty food. The restaurant was immaculate & has great parking spots directly outside the restaurant. The restaurant also does takeaway orders for collection. Tucked away off Doncaster Road; this place needs more attention for its great food & service! I hope to see it thrive. Thank you and see you soon Khao New Thai Cafe :)

I visited this place with my daughter who was home from Liverpool University. We’d been talking about all the wonderful authentic cafes available to her & the lack of choice in Barnsley... then we found this! We popped in for tea and were greeted by the wonderfully friendly staff, who showed us to our table. It was teatime on a Wednesday, so no other guests present. The food was freshly made & tasted incredible, fresh herbs & aromatic spices & reasonable potions. I want to shout about this place, Barnsley needs places like this. Definitely returning with friends & family.

The food was a bit hit and miss. The mixed starter was not that great. The prawn toast not the soft prawn and chicken topping as other good places serve. I ordered beef in ginger and garlic. It was onions with more onions. Duck was standard but the hoysin sauce was watered down. Not a great experience
