KFC Londonderry - Lesley Retail Park in Derry

Walked in to order a takeaway for my family on my sons 10th birthday. We visit this kfc once a fortnight as treat for my children costing £30 +. After ordering on the touch screen I waited patiently while I watched people who ordered before me get served first. Throughout my visit I couldn't help but notice what looked like a male senior member of staff casually leaning over a till talking continously to a girl. This guy with a black baseball cap covered in badges, glasses and the white teeth had not one care in the world as other staff frantically made up orders for customers. Forgive me but is KFC not a multi national company with standards that employees must adhere to!? This was more like a local corner shop selling newspapers! Does KFC not have quality checks on food being prepared and served to the public? When returning home, the order was completely wrong, food was missing and everything was cold and couldn't be eaten. Disappointing was an understatement. As a public facing organisation with questionable standards in appropriate staffing, you out did yourself this evening. This sort of information should be passed to senior management to return the quality of both staff and especially food!

Food is good but the wait in the drive thru was way too long

The young fella at the the front of the desk was fantastic , I've been to kfc loads off time and never felt to leave a review before, but the young gentle man deserve a nice and complimentary review he was so so nice and help full, it was around 4.30 today,well done u, u will go far young sir

Low to avarage quality potato chips, most of it was thrown away.

Every single time I go here WITHOUT FAIL they’re always missing something. Usually they’ve ran out of gravy, boneless chicken or corn. I’m aware the workers are not at fault but it’s seriously disappointing. And on top of that the wait time in the drive through is far too long, the last time I went it was a 10 minute wait for a boneless banquet. I don’t work in fast food but I know that isn’t a regular wait time.

Two meals took almost 10 mins. No sauce. Didn’t give us half of what we ordered either. Heartbreak

Hadn't been to KFC in years. And I must say the food was excellent nice and tasty. Girl on the drive through was good. Will definitely be back again for food again

serving clearly old dried out chicken that was burnt to a crisp as an added bonus. It's amazing how bad this place is.

Just like walking into the United nations. Not a single person in the front of house looked like English was their 1st language. Had to repeat my order 3 times . I've no experience running a fast food establishment but I would have thought you would put someone who spoke English as there 1st language especially as the machines were out of order .

Two young staff members very cheeky, their customer service ridiculous, the carpark has a gaint pot hole and it is wrecking customer tyres.

10 minutes stuck at the drive thru window waiting for a standard menu items? Utterly ridiculous. I was the only customer waiting too.

Ordered a takeaway for 3 zingers, pepsi, chips, and a ten piece bucket. Only 6 pieces of chicken in the bag, and 5 were legs

Completely different experience today. Place spotless and excellent customer service, smiles and hot food. All napkins and straws and sauces correct. 10/10 Thank you.

Lovely guy at the drive through, nice and chatty, food was fresh, he explained the new fries also

Foods always great, can be a bit expensive if you have a big appetite but chickens 🐔. I'm in here far too much, only reason I give it 4 stars due to me personally thinking portions are small buy oll let you be the judge of that

Has to be the WORST KFC shop I've everr been too. If you turn up expecting to be served, you're gonna be disappointed as it is RARELY OPEN for walk in customers after 6pm as they concentrate on their Drive Through and Online operation. Seems only the Deliveroo/Just Eat guys are allowed in to collect their orders, the ordinary walk in folk are told Only the Drive Through is open which is bloody useless if you dont have a car. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Have been to the drive thru 4 times in the past few months. Something is ALWAYS missing each time. Normally it's the kids corn on the cobs missing. Today it was the burger. From reading reviews seems this to be a common theme at this drive thru. Why is management not addressing this? Will not be back.

Not so friendly staff Staff hesitant to attend customer even after they notices they were on till Toilets very clean but very small most of the time there were people standing on que outside toilets and even space to que was limited Restaurant tables and floor were very clean Not very busy when I visited Have to ask for ketchup nd plates even though i told iam eating in Food was not properly cooked wings I ordered were not cooked fully only the outer layes was cooked and same story with original recipe chicken

Ordered a takeaway, took an hour and a half the food came freezing cold and was missing items and the food that did coke was inedible

Delivery service on a few occasions is bad and trying to get through to them is even worse Better going and collecting your orders wouldn't recommend online ordering from them

Order arrived cold, got the wrong side order and wrong drink which I had to pay extra for.

Food felt as though it had been cooked at too low a temperature

The food was absolutely terrible. £21 for 2 burger meals and 2 wings. Food was cold, chicken in burger was overcooked, chips were inedible and drink was flat. Never again.

2nd time I went and they didn't have mini fillets again despite all the advertising.

Second time queuing up in drive through only to be told that there was no chicken dishes available apart from burger or popcorn chicken therefore had to queue to leave minus food...a sign at drive through entrance may have helped. Would suggest a review of supply and demand in terms of stock control may help for future planning and customer service. Never have had this issue in McDonald's

Food has improved here in the last year or so. Their fries were always undercooked but they are tasty now. Food is all good. Only complaint the tables, seats & floor is always messy.

Just bought 10 piece bucket chicken, only received 6 pieces tried to call the store no answer and unable to leave a message.ruined the dinner

Terrible service..waited in queue for 30 minutes with 7 cars behind me in drive though to be told there's no chicken left..totally unacceptable. Never be back..

Service is terrible, ordered party bucket, first they forgot the chicken popcorn then we realised they also didn't include the gravy so went back twice and you know what? They gave me 2 small gravy and just turned away. I wish the burger king branch comes back to Derry so we have more choices of fast food.

Very disappointed in my visit.. they didn't have any Pepsi or cola of any sorts! They only had small baps for the burgers and nothing was offered as compensation for the lack of product. I would say if looking for somewhere to eat avoid this place. Staff were playing rock paper scissors to see who would clear the tables.. Tables were dirty. I tried to clear a table to eat at but the bins were over flowing with rubbish

absolute worse drive thru in the country .have ppl waiting almost 45mins in the drive thru at 6.30 on the evening to be told theres no chicken left time an time again .always been the same then to be told u have attitude when u complain for having your time wasted .really badly run kfc

Bought a twister wrap and looked like it had been made by edward scissor hands all the contents was inside packaging and staff were standing about on phones instead of dealing with customers a horrible experience at this KFC

The taste of KFC Londonderry is awesome compare to letterkenny KFC. I enjoyed a lot. But outside the shop is not clean and tidy.

Stood in a gueue yesterday for 42 min waiting on 3 pieces of chicken and I actually think my friend lost the 3 stone he needs to waiting.

The whole menu is extremely expensive for what you get and what you do get is soggy and close to inedible for me. The chips are very greasy and soggy especially and I find their chicken quite tasteless. I wouldn’t recommend.

BEST KFC ever. The staff are so kind and the atmosphere is amazing. I love that its right next to the gym so you can go burn off your extra calories after youre done eating.

Absolutely disgusting never again the chicken in the burger was slimy and raw it was vile the chips where disgusting too raging I wasted money on it should just close the place down!

Why wrong dine-in timings shown in website/google??...

We had aanbsolutely awful experience with this KFC. The order was short. Long waiting time. Chips looked as though they had been taken from a previous meal and recooked (photo). Bathroom was filthy as was the floor and chairs of the main eating area. Not recommended for food. I do however recommend that this outlet should be reviewed by the Trading Standards Office.

Edit: They have fixed this issues now(took over 1 month) and online ordering works now and the places seem a lot more cleaner Disappointed online ordering and card machine has been down for over two weeks and food coved in grease. Also there was pigeons inside the shop while trying to eat food

If paying by card, was told I needed to use the screen on the way in. Used, and paid. Waited for about 10mins to be told they didn't have the sauce I'd ordered, and they don't do sundaes (wait for it) on a Sunday!! Understaffed, so long wait time.

I love kfc, but this particular shop is good but it can be Great !!! it all depends on what time you buy your food. Personally, I would rather wait for hot, fresh food than to be served straight away as the food, although very edible, lacked the part of too hot to hold and greasy fingers of which is all part of KFC...

Ordered last night via justeat. Order never came, but was marked as delivered. Kfc wouldn't help. £23 gone like that. Justeat offering £6 compensation. Absolutely vile. It's theft.

Arriving in the queue at 5.45, got to the intercom at 6.10, As blunt as can be" can I take your order", she said I asked for kids meals not even a mention of dressed, drinks etc. I added a Pepsi which then I got a reply you can't get krushems with them(I asked for pepsi) Continued to order myself a meal and I had to repeat my self about 4 times even though I was speaking up, I raised my voice to be heard and her reply was don't raise your voice at me. Finally got the order the last item and I watched her through the window take her head piece off, throw it at her colleague, walk away mumbling "take that order"!! So new worker couldn't stop apologising for her. Simply I cancelled my order and went else where. Tried to contact restaurant but no answer. Management is terrible I hope they are dealt with.

General housekeeping could be better floor needed a good clean as it seemed like it had been washed with a greasy Mop but food was warm and tasty!!!

Waited in the drive thru for 20min when we get to order the food they told us they have no CHICKEN..Why have people waiting when they should shut up shop..MANAGER OF THE YEAR AWARD DOESN'T GO TO THIS LOSER. KENTUCKY FRIED F###ALL.

I use KFC all the time and the service is fantastic.

Drive through was over a hour with five cars parked and yes parked because that's what it felt like food was not properly cooked everyone how eat it feels very sick today do not eat out this place

Hadn't been for a few months, so we decided on a lazy drive through dinner, Being honest KFC Strand Rd, isn't what it used to be, we were 3rd in the drive through queue, it took forever to serve the 2 cars in front of us, our thinking was at least the food will be freshly made, Mmm, not quite, ok the burgers were tasty, not overly warm and the chips were cold greasy and half cooked. This KFC used to be so good, we were both very disappointed with the service and quality....

Missing items in order every time

No ice cream or crushems for the grand kids because winter, kids want them anytime of the year when they go KFC and that's why they want to go

Wow what a difference. The new decor and food quality are top notch. Lovely comfortable heated restaurant, friendly helpful staff and my ooh my the fries and chicken are too die for. 2 times I've been in last month, the chicken on the bone cooked to perfection and the fries hot and tasty. Well done owner, for taking time to update the restaurant and its food. 5 star. Will go again. Don't go at peak times though. I noticed that the seating area is not cleaned. First visit was at 6pm on a Saturday. I took a take away. The mess was bad. 2nd visit was off peak, was nice and clean and ate in. 3rd visit Tuesday evening and clean.

I have ordered more than a few time from this restaurant and they always get the order wrong it's not hard to follow instructions when there are right Infront of you!!!

Good afternoon. A place to be avoided at ant cost. Service slow and appalling. Filthy place especially floors etc. Staff not listening and had to bin food immediately swimming in grease and oil. Rats spotted outside in the evening. Someone deal with this please its height of tourist season and children on holidays. Complete dusgrace

Can you give a place less than 1 star? Who ever is manager here needs to be sacked. I sat for 20 mins not a table cleaned. You man going around with brush and pan. I think he must have poor vision as he didn't sweep up a thing. Then he went behind the counter to serve people no time to wash his hands. Thus was all before I got my order.

Very disappointing in every way, staff are sad looking, no smile, no cheerfulness, no response even after saying 'thank you' five times. It looks as if they don't want to be there or they think that they are doing the biggest favour to customers. Some one has to make serious changes to make this place a better place. Either train the staff to be polite, kind with a positive attitude or change the whole set of staff, bring in a new team. I would personally give proper training to the staff and make this place a better KFC joint. I would teach all the staff the importance of the golden words like......... 'Good morning',/after noon/evening', 'thank you', 'you are welcome', 'hope you enjoy the meal', 'see you again' 'have a nice day',......all these with a lovely smile...will make a lot of difference. I hope they do read the customer's reviews.

Food was great hadn't had it in years was the same as I remember

It's very hot and miss to be honest.. Sometimes it's good and sometimes it's awful.. some staff aren't bothered about the place either.. you they can be bothered being there.

Genuinely has to be the WORST KFC in the world. Allowed people to sit in a queue tonight in their drive thru for 50 minutes only to close their shutters at 8pm and stop serving (on a Saturday evening). Told one of the cars ahead of me who was ordering that they had no chicken on the bone 😂 and their card machine doesnt work AGAIN, like why not have a sign to say card machine broken so you dont waste your time. When i finally got to order they announced they had no chicken left at all and that doesnt matter anyway because its now 8pm and they are now closed. I am still just sitting here waiting now just to physically leave but am stuck behind 2 cars waiting on their order. Staff are also an absolute delight and clearly love their jobs 🙄 shant be back.

Went for the vegan option, food was good and staff were friendly.

I absolutely love KFC and unfortunately this is the only one in Derry that I know of. I’m not exaggerating every time I’ve ordered there has been something missing it’s actually a joke I was missing £10 worth of stuff once and obviously I’m going to say to them, I ended up going over the door was locked so I had to go in the drive through and then someone behind us in the car reversed out and told us it’ll be at least an hour waiting and there were about 5 cars (ended up leaving didn’t get sorted). Any other time I’ve ordered there’s the dip missing and that’s the worst, sitting eating dry food, they missed out my rice and there’s always something missing I don’t understand how they can’t get it right because I work in fast food and yes we do get things wrong but if you call up and say then we can help you out, but the difference is that they’ll make you come get it they won’t send it to you (knowing you won’t so then they make money off of that). Probably will get out of here again if I’m being honest because as I said we only have one KFC but I know for a fact I’ll be disappointed Colonel Sanders would be disappointed! It’s the staff, they need new staff because that’s a disgrace, have some common sense like it’s really not that hard. I’m only after looking at other reviews there now and they’ve had a similar experience as me that’s a joke this KFC shouldn’t be standing really need to wind it in the neck. They do it for money that’s a joke like

KFC dont ways hear us when we use drive through and we often receive less than ordered eg if we order ten boneless fillets we get nine and if we order a twelve piece we get eleven. It is frustrating when you are a four person family and cannot split the food evenly. Otherwise food is always tasty.

Food was good and service good. Tables and general area needed attention

You can describe this place with 3 words: slow, filthy and disgusting. Got some chicken here and it had clearly been reheated multiple times, it was almost inedible. It was drenched with grease and the chicken was slimy. The chips were also reheated, making them drier than cardboard. It took a few minutes to explain to the employee taking my order as they thought saying adding another meal ment giving me 4 pieces of chicken instead of 3. The employees here have less brains than the chickens they're cooking. The drinks were also clearly small when I ordered large.
