Kervan Saray Bbq Restaruant in Havering

The price, food, and service are good. Considering the price, the food is good. I had a platter. Usually Turkish platters have a mixed doner, this one didn't but they had Lamb Chops. Usually you get chops in the most expensive platters certainly not at this price range. You also do get different items in other places including different kebabs and hummus. They don't give you humus. Nowadays the price of everything rose. Considering the price, I would say the food was good and the portion was okay (could be better)

We’ve had takeaway from here a few times and loved it, we decided to try out the restaurant and loved it so much more! The manager was so welcoming & the food was the best çop sis I’ve ever hard! Will be returning.

Please please please guys. When someone rings and puts in an order for collection can you actually start cooking the food. The food is always good, the service is usually good to but lately everytime I ring up to make an order for collection he doesn’t start it until I get there, they never used to do this. I get my meat well done so I know it takes a bit longer than usual. So the last thing I want to do is order my food, make ways to the restaurant to be told it’s going to be 20 mins. Bought steak from them, it was all dried and taste like a shi!!! Worst experience ever. Plus they ask for 3 £ extra if I want to dine in. Worst experience ever!!!

AVOID AVOID AVOID !!!!!!!!!! I honestly don’t do this kind of thing but I am really disappointing with the meat content. Times are hard for everyone so when u treat yourself to a take away and basically end up paying for rice, bread and salad it’s upsetting !!! I understand people are cutting back but to pay that amount of money for bread rice and salad is not on ! I am not complaining about food quality it’s about content. I ordered two kebabs and both had three very small pieces of lamb/chicken ! I honestly think I would have had more chicken/lamb on a chicken wing./Lamb chop !!! AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID if u expect more meat in your kebab.

Food delivered after almost 1h. All was wrong! Wrong food, wrong sauce! We called but instead of getting an apology they started arguing & putting the blame on us meaning we ordered wrong food! Would never order here again 👎👎

When I made the order over the phone, the man understood and said my food would arrive in 45 minutes. That was fine and I always wait an hour anyway just in case of traffic etc. I then called after an hour asking for an update and the same man, said the driver was on his way, so I said okay. The restaurant is no longer than 5 minutes away from my house but I couldn't collect due to other things so that's why I chose delivery on this occasion. The driver didn't turn up for another 30 minutes and I ended up cancelling the order with the same man over the phone. The driver then turned up 10 minutes later, he apologised and that was that. The reason I'm writing this review is to make others aware that this may happen to them too. I waited a total of 1h 45min for my food. The man on the phone had poor communication and kept lying to me about where my food was because he also didn't know. This is not the driver's fault as he is just the delivery man and also spoke very very little English. I'm a very patient person, I gave the driver his tip, warmed up the food and enjoyed it. What I have learnt from this experience is to next time, order for collection.

Me and my family go here all the time the food is amazing it’s so fresh and tasty and the service is brilliant. The staff and owner make you feel extremely welcome and at home I love this place

Don't bother doing a walk-in order as they deal with phone orders and deliveries first so you are waiting in the shop for ages only to then have your food wrapped up and the salad you get is whatever you are given as you are not given the choice in the first place including any sauce.

I checked previous reviews first and as can see by my previous reviews, if an experience is good then you should say so. Likewise if it’s bad you should say. In previous reviews it states that the service was poor. I don’t know if the person that wrote that review was in the same place as me, because the service was spot on and the young lady serving was always polite. As for the food all four of us eating though that the food was great. Would I go back? YES. Would I recommend it to family or friends? YES. One final note is that none of us had any cash on us and they do not include a service charge like many places so I had to ask to pay by card (first time that’s happened)

Lovely lunch today nothing too much trouble (sorry if we were a bit fussy!) lamb sheesh and chips with delicious well presented salad nice dips and spectacular olives! Lovely staff and very good value for money 5 out of 5 thank you very much Kervan Saray.

We were rushed through our meal from the moment we arrived. The waitress asked to take our plates while we were still eating. We weren’t even offered dessert menus. 15 minutes before closing time, when we still had drinks left, the waitress told us they were now closed and made it really awkward so that we would leave straight away. It was a Friday night and it was only 9.45pm. Such a shame as the food was good, but the service was terrible so I would never go back.

I love this restaurant, I am a regular for eating in and takeaway. The food is always excellent and fresh. The service is very good as the staff are so friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is a good size perfect for big tables or an intimate dinner. The atmosphere is always warm and friendly. Highly recommend.

I recently visited this place. The customer service was really good. The waitresses suggested me the specialities. I had the strawberry drink and it was great, differemt then other places. The food was great and wide variety of selection. I would recommend this place to other people. I am definitely coming back.

A real Shame.. I have been here many times and had a really nice time and service has been great. Last night was shocking. From the moment we arrived we were rushed to leave! The waitress admitted she wanted to go home early whilst other staff kept checking to see if we were leaving yet! Terrible time, awful atmosphere. won’t return.

Update: *food is always good here and I did come back many times after and before an unpleasant visit (more info below). I have also ordered takeaway many times. I asked for 2 boxes to take my food home. The Mangaer or owner asked the waitress what I had asked for and she did say 2 boxes in Turkish. The man came back with one Box. We approached the Waitress and asked for a second smaller box. She said they dont have a smaller one but still didn't offer us a second box. Why are you being tight with your takeaway box? I could not finish. I wanted to take the salad and bread as I did not want it go in waste. Also NO turkish Tea offered. They charge instead. Not a good selection of ready-made desert. Food portion was good as always.

Been coming here for years. Was always a busy place with a great atmosphere. Hands down was the best with friendly staff too. The last visit I was shocked that on a Friday night it was pretty much empty, the waiters were different. And the vibe we usually get wasn’t there. The food was still so good, we always get the platter and it was so fresh. On a birthday the whole restaurant would sing and join in. Yesterday we was told they don’t do birthdays anymore. Which in my opinion was what we associated the place with. The previous waiters and waitresses were much more friendly and welcoming.

Missed half of my order. Ring them back and they don’t answer.

The food was good. We reserved a table for 9 people for 7:30 and while we were having dinner the waitress was rushing us and at 21:50 they told us that at 22:00 they want to close and we still were eating. And we still had the cake to have as it was a birthday party. Very disappointed

We had a table booked and we arrived on time however we waited over 1 hour to be sat. When we addressed this with the server he was very impolite and then walked away leaving us to sit a wait even longer. I would not recommend this establishment in any regards. Waste of time.

Came here on a whim and I’m really glad that I did. We were warmly greeted at the door by a member of staff and they were attentive and friendly throughout the entire time. The complimentary bread was 10/10 and so were the complimentary sides. The food was good and flavourful and we were served quickly. We were also given a complimentary rice pudding for dessert which was great too! Our only criticism was that the restaurant was really cold which kinda dulled our experience. But overall, we’d definitely return and recommend - I can imagine this place would be great for large groups.

For me a waste of money! Lamb ribs wore on the dry side no flavouring chips wore soggy, rice very wet the smallest tin of salad I've ever seen bread was probablythe best thing. Maybe I'm just used to a real grill in Haringey London. I'm also Turkish and my expectation are a little higher than people are the area of romford Harrold wood. If you want to experience real turkish grill most north London restaurants will give you so much more than you'll get from this establishment 1 star

Decent food, I would prefer having bigger portion sizes but the food quality is really good albeit a tiny bit pricey. Service was really good, waiter was happy to chat to us, gave recommendations and was attentive throughout. Will come back again.

This restaurant was very good 3 years ago. It has gone very downhill. Over priced, portions are nothing in comparison to what they used to be. The waiter spent the entire time staring at me and my girlfriend whilst we ate, he was about 2 metres away, it was extremely uncomfortable and made us both want to leave there as quickly as we could. Then to top it all off, he stares her down as she goes to the bathroom. Appalling service, change your staff or train them to be professional.

I have eaten at other Kervan restaurants and have felt the portion sizes are different. I ordered the Kervan Special and it wasn't as expected. Personally I won't be coming back. But do give them a try as what I find annoying may not mean the same for you.

The food is lovely and delicious, it is well presented and is very tasty. The art on the walls is beautiful and the decorations are really nice.

Went with a friend who lost her husband and a other friend so was the 3 of us It seemed to me they was rushing us as started cleaning table when we was sitting talking and didn't feel comfortable there at all.. I've always felt good in there but this time wasn't pleased with the way it was at all

Outstanding food with amazing service. Turned up without any booking on Saturday and seated absolutely not problem. Attentive staff took care of our needs, without any delays. Even catered for two fussy children with a good kids menu and extras that allowed me and her to enjoy eating what we wanted for a change. Glasses never went empty, and despite a busy restaurant had a very quick wait while food was cooked to order. Very reasonable prices on top means I’ll definitely be back again very soon.

Great food, quick and nice service

Although they do great food I was not pleased on last two visits.My daughter likes her meat in one container and her rice in another or she won’t eat it.However when asked if they cater for food allergies they said yes but would not separate her food saying it would use an extra container. So on our next visit I took my own container but they still would not do it.Their reason is if they let me they will have to do it for everyone.I asked what the big deal was but they just said no. Will obviously not be going there again

Price, Portions, People, Place.... Everything about the Kervan Saray experience was perfect.The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The staff were warm and welcoming, the environment was marvellous. I definitely will be coming back from more. ✊🏾Big Ups to every single member of the team. Service was pretty slow, we had to call the waiter multiple times on multiple occasions to place the order, get salads over, re-order replenishments. We ordered the mixed grill and the food taste was quite good. Overall an ok experience just because of the service but food was good. Please remember: Turkish tea is not free or complementary here. You have to pay for it.

Recently, while at my mother’s house, we decided that we were in the mood for a takeaway meal. We weren’t in the mood for fast food and wanted something that we could enjoy together outside in my mum’s beautiful garden. My friend and I decided to take a walk around the corner to a Turkish restaurant called Kervan Saray. We had dined-in before, but this was several years ago, just before I moved to the USA in 2017. On our previous visit the food was delicious and the service was attentive. The decor is standard Turkish style, with a visible cooking area (this can also be viewed from the waiting area, which is nice when collecting a takeaway). We hadn’t ordered ahead, so waited and watched our food being cooked; strict hygiene was adhered to (gloves and hairnets worn, separate areas and equipment for meat and vegetables, etc.), and our food was prepared within an acceptable amount of time. Prices are fair. We ordered a cold meze (which consisted of pita bread, salad and a range of dips/sauces, such a humus and tarama) and a mixed grill (a range of meat accompanied by rice). We set it all out on the garden table and helped ourselves, surrounded by good company and a fountain of colour provided by my mother’s flower-abundant garden. Personally, my favourite aspect of the meal was the tarama and pita bread, followed closely by the lamb. However, tarama is a high-calorie weakness of mine, so I may be biased. There wasn’t one item on the table that I didn’t enjoy! Four out of five of us were of the same opinion, the fifth being my son who is a notoriously fussy-eater, who would only agree to try the rice and chicken. Five of us enjoyed a good meal at a reasonable price, and there was more than enough left over for a sixth person who arrived after we had finished eating!

Had an amazing meal few times at Kervan in gidea park. So came here thinking it will be the same. Paid £10 or something for very small 3 pieces of lamb.

Best take away Turkish food we’ve ever ordered, mixed kebab is our favourite. Easy to order, ready in 10-15 min. Delicious food. A bit expensive but good quality food. Recommended 😉

Shameful customer service. I tried processing an order online, it failed twice due to being out of the delivery area (theres was no initial message indicating this error) but the transaction went through both times and they charged me twice! (total around £95) I have since tried claiming a refund (this incident happened in Feb 2021), by calling, emaling and actually going in to the resturant on numerous occasisions. I still haven't receieved my money back. I will now be taking legal action.

Don’t eat from Kervan Seray Harold Hill unless you either: 1. Want to find a hair in your dinner during a global pandemic...or 2. Don’t care if the manager hasn’t called you back to discuss for 3 weeks... or 3. Don’t mind calling the restaurant 5 times and hearing them pretend they can’t hear you and put the phone down...

I'm unfortunately going to have to give this place a 1 star, as though I have eaten here a couple of times, however when I last ordered from them there was a hair we were told to wait for the manager to call myself and my partner back but 2 weeks later we are still waiting to here back, and now especially with this Pandemic going on this is disgraceful
