Kemp Thai in Mid Sussex

Not sure why my review didn’t save, this place is fantastic. Ordered online and it said it would take 70 minutes to arrive- was a bit over this time but that’s ok. We had Spring Rolls which were nice but looked a bit like someone had sat on them, pork dumplings which were small but nice, Pad Thai was generous in size and delicious and Moo Grob was really nice too. Have used this place a couple of times and always been really happy with their excellent food and service.

We ordered the vegan pad Thai which was absolutely amazing I couldn’t fault it! We also ordered a vegan Penang curry which was incredibly spicy, I called them up and explained we think it was mistakenly the extra spicy and they arranged for a mild curry to be delivered to us free of charge!! The customer service was incredible and the new curry was delicious! Will 100% be ordering again! Thank you to the lovely polite boy working who took our phone call, you made our evening!! Thank you for the incredible food and amazing customer service.

We ordered a takeaway for dinner, and was surprised with how quick the food came. Unfortunately even though it came quickly for some reason the majority of it was cold, the Chicken Massamam was pretty poor at best, it was cold. The chicken was chewy and overcooked and the carrot and onion was raw. Not Al Dente, completely raw. The prawns were rubbery and the fish cakes are the most terrible fish cakes I have ever tasted, I thought I’d give them the chance and rang up to complain, I asked if they could send another and even gave the one that was terrible back. Unfortunately second time round was just as bad, I thought I’d change to beef. This made no difference, the meat was chewy and very over cooked and again the onion raw and carrot raw. Now some people might think, maybe it’s me but when I saw raw, It gave me watery eyes it was that bad. To conclude, please avoid. Even with a second chance and an apology from the restaurant they still managed to mess it up. Never again.

I regularly get my Thai food from this place and it has always delivered. It is a little pricey but the food is authentic and always arrives hot and in good time. Some people complain about how long it takes but are ordering on Friday/Saturday nights at peak time and this place is super super busy (I have stood there when collecting food and heard the phones never stop ringing). I do love spicy food and actually spent some time in Thailand and did a number of cookery classes, I was the one who was always happy to add an extra chilli or two into my food.....but....I went Thai Hot and it was definitely the top end of my spice chart :-) so be warned !! Food always great and delivery guy always friendly and finds our place which isn't the easiest.

Have had a few problems before but gave them another go. Our order was wrong, they sent a chicken dish which should have been vegetarian and then had to wait a further 40 minutes for a replacement. They didn’t seem bothered by the mistake. Ordered a mild meal and it came with chilli’s in with the seeds and it certainly wasn’t mild. 2 of our group ordered the same meal both with beef and following day they both ended up unwell, everyone else was fine. Will never use again as there is always a problem or long delay in delivery. Very poor.

Given this place many 'second' chances but never again. I understand waiting times are long just now but even when I was given a 75 minute wait time I didn't expect it to take two hours! I rang the take away and was told the order was in the kitchen and would come soon. Okay so you would expect it to arrive nice and fresh, well it arrived cold and stale. I live close by. I rang to complain but no manager was available. When the manager did reply a couple of days later there was no real apology, no offer of a refund at all. Had I received this food in a restaurant I wouldn't have eaten it or paid a penny. They just didn't care about our experience. Such a waste of money, never again.

Excellent customer service. Our beer was missing from our order but after phoning it was delivered within 10 minutes. Food is absolutely delicious.

Ordered it once. Never going to order it again. First, the phone operator was extremely unkind and treated me in a rude manner. The food came 25min late. Chicken was decent, Curry without taste. Overall, an absolute disappointment.

Definitely, the best take away and best Thai food in Haywards Heath. We always get a couple of starters and pad thai. The portions are perfect and so tasty. You can tell it’s all cooked fresh.

We’ve just finished our takeaway from Kemp Thai and are so impressed. The food was absolutely delicious, I loved the fact that with the Pad Thai they had thoughtfully popped the peanuts and chilli flakes in separate little bags so we could each add as much or as little as we liked. The curries were so tasty and the quality of the chicken and vegetables was top notch. I’m very wary when trying new takeaways but I’m so glad I did this evening, will definitely be ordering from them again.

I placed an order through Just Eat that was due to arrive at 19:00. It hadn't arrived by 19:30 so I called the restaurant but the person I spoke to was extremely unhelpful, he told me he had no record of the order and I should contact Just Eat. I won't be using this place again.

The most delicious meal I’ve tasted in a while, certainly in a home delivery. A fabulous website too. Tick items and add to basket. Simple! What’s not to love.

In my opinion the best Thai take-away in Haywards Heath. Very tasty, fresh, good value for money and good sized portions. I particularly liked the cardboard boxes my meal was delivered in, I am so pleased to see you consider the environment. Thank you.

Bad customer service and do not recommend! we pre-ordered our takeaway to arrive at 8pm and no sign of it at 8:30pm. We chased up with the restaurant and was informed that they were busy. Finally arrived at 8:45pm and was the wrong order. Called again and was basically accused of lying as the owner James said that "he'd packed up the order himself and it was the only order on the delivery". He called back 10mins later and said our order was actually on the hot plate and made no apology for his mistake. We requested that we didn't want it now being after 9pm and being spoken to quite badly, therefore requested a full refund. It was still delivered and James said he would call the following day to discuss a refund as he was too busy to deal with it that evening. He did not follow up and we have been trying to contact him since last week, refund refused and only credit for another meal. As if we'd go back after such poor customer service!

I tried to email them with my comments below but got no response. We ordered another home delivery from them last Saturday night. The previous Saturday we had friends round and spent £94 with them. Again we ordered R4. Gaeng Ped Yang among other dishes. The previous week it was excellent. Last Saturday it was not. The duck was not at all crispy but very fatty and seemed undercooked. My partner and I were extremely disappointed in the quality. I feel that they would wish to have feedback when the quality of the food is either good or bad so that they can continue or change things if necessary. The last week’s and the previous week’s Gaeng Ped Yang were like 2 completely different dishes and last week’s was quite honestly very poor and not good quality for the money. Maybe they would like to respond with their comments. This was the first time we haven’t enjoyed a meal from them which until then had always been simply excellent. Steve Barnes

As I write this I’m flipping between 3 & 4 so I’ll do 4 given the wife liked it. Meal for 2 nearly £40 makes this place quite expensive. Starter: we got the spring rolls, upon opening they’re tiny... but they do taste nice. Mains: Penang curry is alright, the cashew chicken errs on The good side. Broccoli side also ok, not sure it’s a four quid ok.I’d say this is a ‘nice meal’ that I may have once a year. Mainly as price doesn’t equate to the value.

This is the only takeaway that uses Quorn to my knowledge. You can order it with any meal the same as meat or mixed vegetables. As a vegetarian this makes this place unique but the taste of the food that comes from here has nothing to do with this fact. Delicious flavours and the high quality make this place not only one of the best takeaways but the prices also mean it is fantastic value.All cooked fresh but it doesnt take an age to deliver. You can even order online.

Love this place. Can get your food delivered or can collect. Love the pad thai. My go to whenever I fancy a takeaway.

Easily the best Thai food in the Haywards Heath area on this evidence. The fish cakes were as juicy as you'd expect, the Tom Yum soup spicy and hot. We ordered the Nau Yang sirloin steak salad and, impressively for a takeaway, were asked how we wanted it cooked. The marinated steak was perfectly tender and tasty, though the accompanying salad itself was nothing to shout about. Stir fry garlic and pepper pork was delicious, the accompanying vegetables crisp and fresh. If you turn up in person to collect your food don't expect the whole 'Thai smiles' experience, but do expect great Thai food. Will order again.

This has become our regular go to for takeaway. All the dishes are tasty, big portions mean that you can get 2 meals out of the dishes. Pad Thai, Red Curry, green curry are all great. You can order and pay on line and the service is speedy and efficient. You can alter the level of spice / heat and add in peanuts and dips where you want them. Would recommend.

When Haywards Heath branch first opened it was the tops, but since then it has gradually deteriorated. Ordered two dishes from Regional menu Both meats as dry as a bone. Probably dragged from back of fridge and zapped in a microwave. Noodles luke warm. Basically inedible. Such a shame. Never again!

I have never left a review in my life but was so incensed by my experience tonight that I have no option.I called to order a takeaway for our 20th Wedding Anniversary meal tonight and was shocked by the lack of customer service. My son phoned and the call was on loud speaker and I heard the guy who answered ask him to hold on while he went off to chat in the background (we could hear and he wasn't taking a takeaway order). Then when he gave us the price my son advised that it was cheaper when we priced it up online. The guy then said 'so, what?' and the line went silent. My son asked me what to do and I said ask him why the price is different which he did. He was then told 'it's only a couple of quid'. At this point I took over the call as the guy was getting quite argumentative and I said it was a reasonable question as to why the price differed and the guy then lied and said that if my son had let him speak he was going to explain it. This wasn't the case as he went completely silent at that point. Eventually, after at no point did he offer to amend the price or explain the difference I gave up and took my business elsewhere. Not a very nice experience on an Anniversary.

Ordered on-line from the Kemp Thai for the first time. Ordering was quick and easy with the ability to omit items that may cause a reaction; i.e. peanuts. We ordered fish cakes and veg spring rolls to start ; followed by Pad Thai and Bok Choi. There was a short wait at the restaurant but it was Saturday evening and they were obviously busy.The food was tasty, well cooked and in good portions.Good value also.I shall certainly be using them again.

This place is amazing. The food is fabulous & the delivery service is always on time. I would recommend the Chicken Satay.

It’s been very hit and miss when using kemp Thai! The starters are always great, amazing squid and good noodles! But the curries are always way too watery, this time really oily as well! We also got a stir fry which was way too hot, and my family are good with their spice, so much so that we had to leave that as well as the curry! In the end we’ve finished our meal still hungry and highly disappointed!

Their pad thai is lovely, food was delivered on time and nice and hot. Very easy to order through their website

Love this place had multiple take outs. Food had been spot on, staff are real nice and food is extremely good (I order low salt) delivery has always been within time or before and portions are large. I’ve tried 5 to 6 different mains and I’ve liked them all. Keep up the good work!

Love the food here but ordered two salads extremely disappointed, there wasn’t much there and it was mainly massive slices of onion , also ordered a soup sadly was far far far to hot for me this I can’t blame the restaurant but I wasn’t able to eat it so was left extremely hungry tried to call they was shut this must have been a rushed job as they was closing . Will order again but never a salad because hat was a waste of nearly £18 that’s not including the soup cost that wasn’t eaten and the delivery charge . Shame when I have ordered many time before maybe new staff maybe have to try another place will try again and see ......

Having tried most of the take always in Haywards Heath I had almost given up hope of finding anywhere decent. Kemp Thai's food is gorgeous, fresh, colourful, arrives on time and is hot! Can definitely recommend.

It was our first visit to Kemp thai it was delicious. Fresh, scrumptious flavours. Really enjoyable. We had a 50% off voucher so good value . Although would have been disappointed with the quantity had i paid full price .

The food is mostly excellent (I had a chicken stir fry dish that tasted like it had been frozen but everything else has been very good), but the prices are a little high

This was the first time I’ve had Thai and I can’t see what all the hype is about. I found the portions small for the cost which is the reason for 3*. Food itself tasted ok but certainly not something I would rave about. Guess it’s just not my thing.

I don't generally comment on restaurants but this one is worth recommending. The Yum Nam Tok is incredible!

As a mix of vegan and gluten-free diets, we were way too excited by the options on this menu! Ordering online is really easy too and you get all the options for everything. There was a bit of a mix up with the delivery but Lee more than made up for it and really went out of his way to so which I really appreciated! Food was amazing, in particular the satay sauce - the best I've had (from a lot of Thai places)! Definitely will be ordering again :)

Food was amazing as usual! Lee helped recommend the best dish for us and it didn't disappoint! Even toned down the spice for me because i am a wimp Squid was amazing and the portions were a good size Will be back!

The chicken was a bit dry, the sauce wasn’t flavoursome but it was okay. Definitely not the best in Haywards Heath and I wouldn’t go back but I’ve tried it.

I often order a takeaway from here and can honestly say it's the best Thai food I've had outside Thailand. The portions are large and the restaurant staff and drivers are very friendly. Lee in particular is a credit to Kemp Thai! Highly recommended.

Lovely food. Delivery takes about an hour so order in plenty of time. Recommend the pad thai noodles and chicken massuman. No cheap but worth it. Get a loyalty card and get free dishes.

Fantastic service and fantastic food every time. Our favourite Thai take away as the food is always delicious, delivered on time and always tastes freshly made. No hesitation in recommending Kemp Thai or giving it the full five star rating.

I ordered take away from Thai Kemp HH tonight, I simply say enough good about the entire experience, the food was impeccable and plentiful as was the service. Highly recommended

We've eaten takeaway from Kemp Thai many times but I feel compelled to write this review after the excellent service provided by the new manager Lee. He is a top bloke and even brought the food into the pub next door for us! The food is top notch as well so I can't recommend it enough for a quality Thai takeaway.

First time having Thai and was recommended this place. Food was late being delivered. Thought the portions were small. Had sirloin steak but this was quite fatty. Not the cheapest of takeaway meal. Probably won’t try this place again.

This has got to the best I’ve ever had! The staff are great and knowledgeable. Good price as well. They have a new manager as well, doing good I hear.
