Kelpies Cafe Middlefield in Falkirk

Food came over 2 hours late, cold and missing condiments. I contacted the cafe multiple times asking for a refund due to the order missing items but they just ignored me. A total waste of time and money.

Very nice lunch today at cafe and gift shop at the Kelpies. Lots of helpful staff with pride and knowledge of their food and hygiene 👍

Typical wee cafe...great service although very very busy busy . Prices are amazing. Plenty healthy options...soup bakes pots and salads. Also plenty sweet treats. Traditional breakfast options. Staff are fab...I love this place!

A member who works in the cafe with a pixie cut was caught with her hands down a man’s trousers in a night club in Falkirk not a very good look

I have seen this cafe on food delivery sites but they charge like £4 odd delivery wven for local addresses so I decided to go in and try. Firstly it seemed like all the staff were solely focused on getting the orders for the delivery drivers and me and another gentleman who was in front of me waited about 10 minutes to be served. I almost left but finally got served. The man in front ordered a regular chips and a roll and I ordered a large chips and got the same size container but paid more. I also ordered a hotdog which was cooked in a microwave along with the roll which went soggy as bread products in microwaves are never a good idea. I also ordered a cheese panini and noticed that instead of grated cheese in the middle of it I was given a slice of that processed square cheese ripped up and placed inside it. When I asked if I could have grated cheese instead I was told that they don't use the grated cheese for panini's it was for baked potatoes and chips etc. And I said so I can't have grated to which she said its the same as the slice. Which obviously it isn't. Overall I'd say from walking in to getting my food I was about 25 minutes which was shocking. My microwaved hotdog and my panini were ready long before the chips and were just placed on top of the cooker while the chips were cooking. So unfortunately it was all just disappointing and felt very amateur. My honest opinion.

We came across kelpies cafe when ordering from various places (to save from getting bored) and it is now a regular order for us. I'm not keen on their bacon (personal preference is thinner and crispy bacon) but pretty much everything we've had from here has been nice and I'd say their portion sizes are normally quite generous, especially for the price. They have a good selection of cakes too. We normally order breakfast & lunch since its such good value.

If you like a full Scottish breakfast, this is the place to go. Decent food and even better price. Note - disregard the bad reviews on here. People have reviewed the wrong cafe. This cafe is not the one in the immediate vicinity of The Kelpies.

Great location. Nice food. Reasonable pricing. Great view straight out onto the kelpies. Can’t really fault the place. We went on a rainy day and mainly people with dogs were out and about. Went for a brew, cafe was quiet, not surprised, coz dog walkers excluded!

Good little cafe located within a industrial estate on the edge of Falkrik. Was one of the few takeaway places open on the Saturday morning I was passing, so went in and ordered a breakfast roll and coffee to go. Good prices and large portions. Shocked for 11am on a Saturday morning in bad weather just how busy it was! If passing by then worth checking out.

the food was good and service was great apart from 1 member of staff who i thouht had a very foul mouth i heard overheard her telling other that she wouldnt eat the s$%t here kinda brings the tone down

Warm, friendly and welcoming staff. Delicious breakfast menu. Not far from the Kelpies or Falkirk Wheel. Perfect start to the day, after a long drive from Birmingham

I had a business meeting with colleagues from Glasgow and Edinburgh. Kelpies cafe is perfectly placed between the two cities. We had delicious coffee looking at the fabulous kelpies, really well designed space. They are called the Falkirk kelpies but are physically within Grangemouth and we are very proud to host them.

We had lovely tea and scones here while visiting The Kelpies. The staff were friendly and lovely and the food was excellent and good value. The only downside was that they did not serve cream with the scones. We were able to sit and view The Kelpies from the restaurant.

Fantastic little cafe, friendly staff, great portion sizes and even better prices. The full English breakfast is delicious and there is a great selection of other food to choose from.

My mum loves kelpies cafe as it is near where she lives so easy to walk to. Great food reasonably priced and staff are very friendly and helpful. Very accommodating. Worth a visit and return visit!

We purchase regularly from here via JustEat and have done since the beginning of Lockdown. We haven’t been to the cafe itself so cannot comment on anything in relation to the actual setting but are yet to be disappointed! Food always arrives within the estimated timescale and hot and cold food is separated well. Portions are always more than adequate and food quality is superb. A personal favourite in our house is the Macaroni Cheese and the Mexican chicken panini. My only comment would be that anytime we have ordered the 1 person buffet it always comes with either Cheese or Cheese and Ham - this is absolutely fine and I understand it is pot luck but a little more variety would be nice or an option to perhaps pay a little extra to specify sandwich filling (just a suggestion).

Staff are pleasant and helpful. Food is fresh tasty and reasonably priced! We got there often - not a scenic location but great for us as we can walk from canal bridge at lock 4 to the cafe. Outside tables and and umbrellas. Worth a visit if going to helix, kelpies or a walk or cycle along the canal.

A well presented vegan option was very tasty, only criticism was that the jacket was hard in places, not down to the cooking of it but down mainly to the quality of the potato, as even when it was placed back in microwave it was still hard in places. Getting to be a good choice for vegan options.

Really enjoyed my lunch. There's good food a good atmosphere and the staff couldn't be more helpful. Great to see them instantly assist a disabled gent when I arrived.

I went in today (26/06/19) with my best friend. I was really pleased how clean it was and got the best of service. The food was excellent, I only had a toastier and a juice but there was plenty of filling, most definitely value for money. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re out that way. Give it a try you’ll be pleasantly surprised 😊

Having visited Kelpies night before decided to have lunch there next day. Excellent menu all cooked on premises and staff brilliantly helpful. Good helpings of very tasty food. Highly recommended and will be back.

We have eaten breakfast twice at the Kelpies cafe in the last two weeks. I visited on the advice of my daughter. The cafe is bright and very clean, we had fresh made sausage on rolls and also bacon on toast with eggs. Lovely mug of tea and delicious coffees. The staff were friendly and helpful. Toilets spotless.If you are walking or cycling the towpaths I would advise you to stop here and enjoy good food at lower prices than the Helix offers. It’s on the corner of an industrial estate but has parking and is only a short walk from the Helix and the Kelpies. I am sure we will be back again and again. Thank you.

I visited the Kelpies Cafe one afternoon. The staff were really friendly and helpful. I had my uncle with me who is disabled and the staff were really good. My uncle had something to eat and we both had a drink. When we went to pay we couldn’t believe the price. It was cheaper than going to well known cafes. I went back the following day and a member of staff recognised me from the day before. I had something to eat. The food was great. The cafe was clean and well looked after.

I think some folk get this place confused, this cafe is in Middlefield industrial estate, and not at 'The Kelpies'. Use it quite a lot after going for a walk, Great Soup and cake....was there today

Having stayed overnight in Falkirk we were looking for a wee place for breakfast this morning. The Kelpies - which is in an industrial estate, I think - is very clean and bright and the staff are very obliging and friendly. I want to give it a good review firstly because some of the bad reviews I read weren't even about this particular Kelpies cafe. Secondly, there is a really full breakfast menu and thirdly, it is really good value. We had a roll and sausage, a bacon and tomato roll and two teas for just over a fiver. Unbelievable! (Only reason I'm not giving five stars is because the food could have been hotter.)

My husband ordered a steak pie with chips and veggies. I had soup. Both were disappointing. There is indoor and outdoor seating with great views of the Kelpies.

The food is ok and and the pricing is reasonable but I would never eat here again none of the women that worked here wore gloves when serving and they used the same tongs on my roll on sausage as they did on the roll on potato scone I got for my partner(whom is a vegetarian) when I confronted her about this she was extremely rude and aggressive. This is completely unacceptable I should be able to purchase food for my partner without having to worry that it has been in contact with meat products and I should not receive that kind of response when I asked for a new one to be made

great place for good cheap food had a chicken and ham club toastie it was fab third time at this cafe and each time it was really good the girls are are so nice

I’m sorry to write this but being as honest as I can about the place , I tried the cafe as it is a great location for the shops that I always buy from , first time I went I bought a chilli burger which turned out to be a burger with chilli mince on top was not nice at all and decided to give the place another try today and had the worst cheeseburger I’ve had in my life , burger was tasteless with a kraft cheese slice and onions that were dripping with water , cake was solid must have been there for days , won’t be back

Found it a bit busy and hard to get to a table with a walking aid. Scones are nice, shared one with mum, enjoyed it a lot.
