Ka Pao Glasgow in Glasgow City

We got the sharing menu for 4 and it was absolutely like a party in your mouth, so many different plates all with their own unique taste. I loved it and would highly recommend.

Great restaurant, got 5/6 dishes between us, they were all banging 👌corn ribs and oyster mushrooms and chicken in like a sweet and spicy sauce, would defo go back

I had the best time! I loved the atmosphere with dim, warmlights. I enjoyed my cozy seat in one of the booths (my favourite). The food was appealing to the eyes and a constant burst of flavours that worked perfectly together, also with incredibly tender meats - chicken, duck, beef and fish, with perfectly cooked crispy skin. Just brilliant. I will be back. Unfortunately we didn’t have time or room for dessert so I look forward to trying that next time !

Food was excellent. Sweet potato curry was amazing. Some really amazing flavours and ideas. Really enjoyed it. Would recommend the corn ribs and the mango soft serve. Restaurant was quite busy but service wasn't great. On a few occasions we struggled to get soneone to attend to us. Would definitely go back but hope that service would be a bit more attentive.

Last night Ka Pao restaurant - 22 Vinicombe Street, Glasgow fed a group of 26 of us with a tasting menu for £37.50 each. Plus drinks. What amazed me was the way the waiter moved along the group at the end, with a printout of the drinks bill, card reader in hand and change in his pocket. Without any fuss at all, people identified their drinks prices, paid up and he moved on. Quite quickly, he announced we were all paid up, with a tip. The food was fantastic, but the service was just amazing!

Delicious food which our whole family love! Such an interesting range of dishes and good options for vegetarians too. Great service and friendly and attentive waiter made our experience even better!

Great restaurant in all aspects. We have been to Ka Pao and Ox & Finch many times. It was a great experience everytime.

Didn’t live up to the hype unfortunately. Plates were unclean and food very mediocre. Far better green and massaman curries available elsewhere.

All staff were great, the food was very good and served promptly but not all at once, which was fantastic. Going back with friends in a few weeks and really looking forward to it

Visiting Glasgow for dinner with friends First time in this restaurant 😁 Booked the table which we were advised to do as busy on a sat night. Greeted at the door and shown promptly to the table booth for 6 Menu on the table very interesting and loads of choice. We opt for the sharing menu £30+ per person. Very interesting menu full of variety fish veg meat and spices. Loads of different choice textures all playing with your taste buds some very spicy and full of flavour. Try the pork belly very tasty also the corn ribs and cabbage. The server was Judit (Hungarian girl) absolutely top class, she has the banter/rappor with us and new to have a laugh along with keeping the table clean and us topped up with drinks. I personally will be back but as a group we agreed the taster menu price is slight high for such small plates being shared by 5 people. All good though must try when visiting the west end 😉

Our best meal in Scotland so far in 5 days. Inventive, flavorful, and spicy ~ and sensitive to gluten intolerance. Great wait staff, too!

A unique experience, with interesting mix of flavors. The Arbroath smokie is a must try.

Went here for the first time for my wife’s birthday. Really good restaurant. Food was excellent as were the staff. Attentive and friendly despite the busy nature of the evening. Only minor thing to say is that as someone that doesn’t drink alcohol the single choice of AF beer was a bit disappointing. There were mocktails also, but generally they’re not for me. The single AF beer that is on offer isnt a great one to be honest. 2/3 options that are a bit better tasting would be good. But this is a minor thing. Great place.

Still the best restaurant in Glasgow. A must visit place for Asian food. This is my 17th time to KaPao in the last two years. Every visit, food is always excellent. Service is amazingly good. And atmosphere is perfect for lunch or dinner, couple or group night. I have tried almost everything on their menu. My favourites are smoked miang, beef skewers, crispy chicken, ox tongue and pork belly. This time I tried new ones - prawns with jackfruit, pork neck, Choi sum in sambal sauce and special menu - crispy chicken wings in homemade sriracha sauce. It was very delicious and the service is way beyond excellent. I am always surprised how do they even train the staff, every restaurant should be like this. Every spoon is tasty and really authentic South East Asian taste. But even I find it quite spicy this time , but still.. love it. Every penny worth it and price is very fair £35-40 each including drinks. We walked in through waiting list but got very lucky , got sofa booth that night 😊

Was out with my sisters for dinner we had an outstanding meal one dish was nicer than the other , a fantastic meal it was delicious first class service and compliment's to our servers and chef as everything was perfection will definitely be recommending and visiting again soon . Ka Pao exceeded all my expectations! Their yellow curry of coley was a revelation—every bite gave me goosebumps. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the dishes were prepared with such finesse. The ambiance and service were equally impressive. Highly recommend for an unforgettable dining experience! Yey for the Michelins! 🥳

Lovely food, we went for the full menu for 4 people with a variety of dishes, it was more than plenty for all 4 of us, some dishes were really spicy. Favs were hake curry, courgette curry, shrimp with coconut. They have kids menu with rice, salad, grilled sweetcorn and a choice of curry, crispy chicken or crispy fish, my daughter enjoyed!

I drove some people up there after they had been to troon for the golf open they said they enjoyed it 🙂.

Ka Pao is a must, every time I visit Glasgow. Had a meal there last night, and it was better than ever! Kudos to the entire team. Will definitely be back!

Staff lovely and very accommodating. I have sound sensory issues and they let us move to a table in a quieter area even though it was a Saturday night. The food was amazing and it comes out in stages which was nice. Only one downfall was that we ordered the oyster mushrooms and they arrived at the same time as the table next to ours did and it looked like they had made two portions at once and the other table got loads of mushrooms and we got a lot of crispy batter pieces without any mushrooms in it which was a bit disappointing. Other than that it was great all round. Will be back

This was an excellent find. Great food, good beer (thornbridge! All this way north???) and a fun atmosphere. We had the vegan corn ribs, crispy pork belly salad, phanaeng curry of confit duck leg, green curry of beef featherblade, stir-fried purple sprouted broccoli and jasmine rice. It was all beautiful seasoned, well cooked and brought as soon as each dish was ready. Very well timed too. An over-all brilliant evening

We had a very nice experience and the food was amazing! The customer service Hannah is very helpful and she picked up the dishes with garlic after she knows we are allergic to it. 10/10 strongly recommended. Hannah deserve a pay rise!

Good Thai inspired place. Starters were trying a little too hard in places, but the mains (curries) we had were both very, very good. Sweetcorn ribs too sweet for me, and I like sweetcorn a lot!!

This is one inspiration here. I eat and cook a lot of vegan Thai food and here I was just amazed. The cauliflower and zucchini curries are really incredibly tasty. Glasgow was definitely worth it

Food in the place is absolutely unreal! Cannot even describe it. I don't like mushrooms but I really enjoyed one of the mushroom dishes we ordered. Can't wait to go back

What a special place! We ended up here after a neighboring place had no tables available and we were delighted to have the opportunity to experience Ka Pao! Everything we tried was very tasty, but the corn ribs, cauliflower, and cabbage were exceptional.

Fantastic Bib Gourmand restaurant in a hip part of Glasgow! Food was incredible! Service was wonderful. The chef does an excellent job intertwining Asian dishes with the modern world! Do yourself a favor and make a reservation!

Did my husband and I drive from London to Glasgow to eat this restaurant? BIG YES! AMAZING FOOD! The new dish, Sea Bream is FANTASTIC. Fresh and the dressing reminded us of Thailand. My husband and I been to Thailand multiple times! So eating these food was truly special because it tasted better than what we have eaten in Thailand 🙃❤️ hope the embassy won’t bash us lol. Beef tartare was very special and delicious. Oyster mushrooms was something we were skeptical because of the szechuan peppers. But it turns out pretty amazing! Not heavily seasoned, just perfect. We love it so much. We will come back for this again! Big shout out to Josh our server who have been so kind and helpful to us! 😆💖

My wife and I love love love this place the food is alway outstanding and the staff best about helpful, friendly and knowledgeable.

Been coming here since it opened - remember having take away from restaurant during one of the interminable lockdowns Glasgow was subject to. Pleased to say it’s still really good. My faves are the whole sea bream and the cauliflower curry. Hopefully they bring back the celeriac curry over winter months as a real hearty dish. Enjoyed the king prawn and jackfruit dish too. Wasn’t drinking alcohol on this visit but the cocktails are normally pretty good, and decent value. So it’s still a great casual spot for tasty food !

One of my favourite places in Glasgow and great for gluten free .

We had an excellent experience during our first visit. We managed to book in at short notice, and the booking system was easy to use. The staff were all helpful, friendly, and attentive, explaining everything thoroughly to ensure we felt comfortable. They checked in with us at just the right moments, appearing at our table when needed without us having to ask. The food was incredible – we ordered from the vegan menu, and everything comes out when ready and all dishes were so fresh and tasty, and everything with its own signature taste. I highly recommend visiting, and especially ordering the oyster mushrooms and salted coconut corn ribs, delicious! We look forward to coming back, it’s such a gem of a place and love that it’s open til 12am too. I was momentarily unsure if I was in the right place to wait as the desk was unattended at the time we arrived and no wait to be seated sign to confirm we were. However, once the server noticed us, they greeted us with a huge smile and made us feel very welcome. Overall, it was a fantastic experience with great food, a lovely venue nicely decorated, and perfect customer service. We were well fed and well looked after. 5/5.

The salt and szechuan pepper oyster mushrooms are a must-have, and the corn ribs are something a bit different. All the sauces were delicious and a nice mix of heat levels as well as plenty of vegetarian/vegan choices. Service was good if a little slower at times when busy but always polite, professional, and attentive. I'll definitely be back!

This was by far the best dining experience I've ever had. The dishes work like tapas. There are small, medium and large. Everything is super tasty and sometimes really exceptional. The different tastes in your mouth are amazing. The service is really great and everyone is super nice. Great selection of drinks and the cocktails are professionally mixed at the bar. You have to have been here. It's definitely worth the money. It's a bit hidden, you have to go down to the basement, but the atmosphere is really nice. I really enjoyed being here and felt very comfortable.

Absolutely amazing food with bold flavours near the botanic gardens in Glasgow. The restaurant is unassuming from the outside but leads to a huge basement with an open kitchen and lots of space. The fried chicken dish was the standout. Would recommend to anyone

Absolutely amazing. Tried combinations of flavours I've never had before. Staff were great! Cocktails and mocktails were lovely. Reasonably priced. Our favourite was the Arbroath smokie!

Service was quite slow but food was great

Absolutely wonderful meal with huge flavors. We were delighted by everything. And don’t skip dessert, their version of sticky toffee pudding with lime mascarpone was divine.

It is good, very good. The food, the style of service, dedicated staff. Malaysian in style in the main with some Thai I'd say. Chinese too hehe and there. The result is fusion Asian dishes. A bit too heavy on the chillies for me but great flavours, textures and presentation none the less. I'd go again

Beautiful food, lovely atmosphere, great value

Everytime I go to Glasgow, I always make sure to come here at least once. The food is out of this world. Delicious flavour and not a single disappointing dish. My favorite was the fried chicken (fish sauce caramel and pickled banana chilli). Best friend chicken I've had. This place is worth the excellent reviews!

Really delicious food, lots of exciting flavour combinations and plenty of options to choose from. Even the simple things like salad is delicious here, there really is nothing not to love about it!

The food was amazing and we walked (rolled) out full. The staff member who served us was very knowledgeable about the menu, friendly and passionate about their menu. I would submit photos, but the food didn't last long enough! I highly recommend the corn ribs and the yellow curry!

The food at Ka Pao is second to none. We asked our server for recommendations and they didn't disappoint. I love that the food comes out as and when it is ready which allows you to graze at your own pace. The flavours in each dish were delicious and the presentation was impeccable. Service was excellent, very friendly interactions with three staff members left us feeling attended to and appreciated. We will definitely be returning.

Nice Vietnamese fusion cuisine. Every dish was immaculately presented and was quite tasty.

Visited over a year ago and the food was incredible. However I returned last night and was extremely disappointed. Many of the dishes lacked balance, with very overpowering flavours that were at times quite unpleasant. This included whole peppercorns in a tartare dish, a very spicy dressing on salad that accompanied crispy pork belly, and broccoli that tasted smoked after being burnt on a high heat. It's a shame because our previous experience was excellent, so I can only assume there has been a change in staffing.

Incredible food. The padron peppers and corn ribs were delicious and curries were beautiful too. We ordered 6-7 dishes as recommended but the flavours were so good we could have just kept trying more! Desserts and cocktails fantastic too.

genuinely some of the nicest food i’ve had in the longest time. i came here for my birthday dinner and enjoyed every single aspect of it. the fried oyster mushrooms were enlightening. the beef tartare was otherworldly and honestly, it’s been two weeks and i’ve been craving it ever since then. the mussels were delicious, and we ordered a side of rice and spooned the juice from the mussels on top, incredible hack, was absolutely delicious. the beef skewers genuinely made me see god. perfectly grilled and just the most flavorful tender meat. the corn ribs were a first for me, but it was love at first bite. why isn’t corn always served like this? besides being easier to eat, utterly beautiful flavor. and finally, the fried chicken with the caramel glaze. my partner and i argued for the longest time over how you were able to achieve chicken that is THAT crispy, while still remaining juicy. even after 10-15 minutes of sitting on our table, drenched in the glaze/sauce…..you would think that the crispiness would start to fade. you think it might get a bit soggy. guess again. you bite into it, and it’s still JUST as crispy as when it arrived to the table. how do you guys do it???? actually, don’t tell me. i prefer to imagine you as little wizard chefs producing the best birthday dinner i’ve had in a very long time. i visited on march 14th around 6/6:30pm, and everyone who served us was an absolute dream. also!!! the entire restaurant was super clean, looked very cool and the most important…the bathrooms were spotless!! thank you guys for such an amazing dinner 🩷

A bit loud hence the lower on the atmosphere. We had a sampler of different dishes. All were really tasty and some surprising.

This gem of a restaurant has been refurbished to add descreet sound deadening for the echo chamber you often find in busy eating places. My party of 4 all agreed the food was first class in every aspect and the wine suggestions for our food choice impeccably matched. Service timing was spot on, accommodating, sensitive and thus earned a well deserved tip. If you've never been, just try it - the waiting staff will intelligently explain the menu and how it works. Recommended.

Attentive staff. Diners were spaced out across the restaurant which made us feel a little isolated behind a screen. It’s probably more jolly when there are more in.

Lovely, creative menu, where everything just seems to work together nicely. Enjoyed dinner with my family and we ordered about 7-8 items to share. Everything was prepared impeccably well, service was swift and polite, with good recommendations. I would recommend it to anyone, with the exception of those with very low tolerance to spiciness. By no means was it super spicy, below the level I think of most authentic Thai and Malay food, but with enough presence to capture the spirit of each dish.

The food was unreal. I got the salt and Szechuan pepper oyster mushrooms; the fried chicken and the beetroot, rhubarb and brown shrimp salad. I had to stop myself from eating, which was hard because each dish was so flavorful: I couldn’t decide which was my favorite. The service was excellent and the ambiance was just right.

Nice restaurant found almost by chance during my visit in Glasgow. It’s an Asian inspired cuisine and they recommended to take 3-4 small dishes to share and one or two “main courses” with some side dishes. That’s what we did and we found the food very delicious! I really recommend the corn ribs and the fried mushrooms, so good! We’ll definitely visit this place again because there are still so much dishes to try on their inviting menu. Great service, it was all perfect! We spent around 85 pounds in two and we left full and satisfied

I didn't realize it was Thai cuisine. Ok all allergens are clearly identified but ask for the spice level in the dish before ordering. Not being at all used to spicy dishes, I went to the wrong restaurant and was unable to eat what was served to me. It went in the trash. The restaurant is in the basement and the noise level is really annoying.

Top notch scran! We went with the waiters recommendation on how much to order and we were stuffed. The beef tartare was incredible as was the cauliflower curry. The hype is real, go fill your faces here you won't be disappointed!

Stopped in for desert and drinks. First time there, warm welcome, quick and pleasant service. Only had ice creams and choc mousse but both were delicious. Especially the honeycomb stuff on the choc mousse! My favourite bit was how well the acoustic challenges of the building were dealt with…I could hear everyone else at my table and the wait staff, but wasn’t bothered by the general noise of a restaurant bouncing off the tiled walls, floor, ceiling. My group today have decided to definitely go back for a proper meal after seeing and smelling other tables’ food. It was also incredibly clean. That shouldn’t be a compliment but it is! The areas where “sneaky dust” would normally be were squeaky clean, including but not limited to the toilets. 10/10 would recommend and will absolutely return.

I’m a fussy eater but I’m not in here! I know that no matter what you eat, it will taste delicious. My favourite restaurant.
