I have been going in The Pack Horse in Birtle for 8 years.I have seen Managers come and go.The pub has now got one hell of a manager Tina. She turned the pub upside down and made a incredible job.Obviously she couldn’t have achieved this without impeccable staff that she has recruited.I will take my hat off to Tina and her fantastic team. Well done Tina. You are a very incredible lady.

sitting inside in a not too noisy restaurant was pretty relaxing. The choice of food was not extensive but the quality good! Very friendly staff.

Having relocated from Northern Ireland to Chester just one year ago we found the Goshawk our nearest pub establishment, 25 mins walk from our new house in Ashton Hayes. We have frequented it many times and have got to know the staff very well especially Neil the manager. Just today, June 19th 2022, Fathers Day we had a meal together with our son, his wife and our two granddaughters. As always the welcome and service was so good. The relaxed atmosphere and homely surroundings so enjoyable. Our granddaughters enjoyed the play area where we knew they were safe and within sight. On finishing our meal, much enjoyed by all and about to pay the bill, Neil came to us with a boxed Lees grip pint glass for myself and my son, the two fathers, plus a voucher for a free pint, completely unexpected but so touched that Neil took the time to give us this gift on such a special day. My son attended Chester Uni in 2000 and the last time he was with me on Fathers Day was around 16 years ago as he has settled in Chester with his wife and children so this is the first time together on this special day for many years and Neil has made this day even more special. Thank you Lees but more importantly thank you Neil and your staff for always looking after us but especially on this special day. Kindest regards. Norman and Jackie

We stayed at the Groes Inn last year. The rooms were very comfortable, had great amenities and spectacular views from the room. Inside the restaurant, excellent customer service and food to go back for. Thank you for a lovely weekend stay.

I would like to make a complaint about my recent visit to the Railway and Linnet pub at Middleton Junction on Sunday 20th September 2020. I booked it for my son to have his 11th birthday party there. Needless to say I wasn't impressed and I won't ever be returning. I arrived at the scheduled time of 1pm and was left standing outside, waiting whilst they was cashing up from the previous night (even though the door has a sign on it saying the premises opens at 12pm), the pub had not been cleaned, the toilets were disgusting, the floors were dirty and the outside area (where the children are meant to play) was covered with beer cans amd cigarettes dimps. When I complained about the state of the pub and how they weren't organised, I basically got a non concerned response and that they wasn't bothered and disinterested in my concerns. Therefore we had to leave with the birthday party and go somewhere else. I am so upset and so is my son with the way we were treated and my son's birthday was ruined. I think the place is a shambles and needs an improvement asap. I  certainly won't entertain any J W Lee's venues in the distant future.

The quality of the beer is excellent as is the quality of the food in the pubs. I work at the brewery and witness the level of commitment and care that goes into producing top notch beer and providing great hospitality in the pubs, inns and hotels.

Arrived to the bar at 8:25pm and told the bar man that we would like to order food. We appreciated that the kitchen stopped receiving orders at 8:30pm but seemed to have ample time. We had travelled from the south on a 5 hour journey. The bar person informed me that they had stopped serving food, even though it was 8:25pm on a Saturday. When i challenged him that there were still 5 mins before the kitchen closed. He disappeared into the kitchen, returning after he spoke with the manager and said “ kitchen is closed “ If you can not honor your service times, i question how the food and service would have been. Extremely poor show from the management to make such a hideous decision.

On 27th May at 12pm myself, my parents, wife and boys went to the Links in Llandudno for a meal. We were given the starters in good time but the mains took 1hr and 30mins to arrive. There were other people who came after us getting served quicker. We made an inquiry into delay and then a complaint when one of the orders was wrong. The general staff were very apologetic and Daniel in particular was very good with us. When Daniel offered free deserts he said the assistant manager would be over to apologise. The assistant manager came over with a face like thunder and not once did she apologise. When I requested we talk she dismissed me and said we'll talk later. I made a complaint to her boss, who I hope will be speaking to her assistant. Needless to say the assistant manager needs a lesson in customer service from her collegues. I would suggest Daniel is promoted to take her place. My parents have been to the Links a number of ocassions and said the assistant manager always seems to have a bad attitude. It's a pity because the food is good and the rest of the staff are good. Whilst there was a long delay with the food I would not have complained had the assistant manager apologised instead of giving us a stern angry look.

Stopped at the Netherton Hall at Frodsham a couple of weeks ago for lunch with my wife. The food was very good and the portions were well-judged. Service came with a smile and the prices are very reasonable. If the standard can be kept consistent it's a gem.

Oh god! This has gone down hill ! You can’t make a silk purse out of a sows ear! . We took our daughter, husband and grandson . I had to send back my starter it was cold. And the rest was very mediocre , we often go the duckworth arms in Ramsbottoms which is a lees house , it is 100% better than this , actually maybe management should send its kindergarten staff to the duckworth arms for training especially the chefs
