Was extremely disappointed with the food…was expecting high quality meats, however the name “Jungle Brai” is very misleading with the concept of food from South Africa…I was expecting juicy meats which have been marinated overnight to extend the taste and pleasure of the food…all the chefs do is cook the meats on a grill and throw a load of their ketchupiiii sauces over the prawns, chicken and chops…very bad experience unfortunately…..sorry guys!!!!!

As soon as I entered, table was a mess, we had to wait for a table in the back to be cleaned which took 15 minutes. Waiter/worker was rushing us to make our order, once ordered it took 45 minutes to arrive. Food arrived with many minutes apart. Only 2 portions of ribs came for 2 people and I’ve had to wait an extra 15 minutes for my portion of ribs. I’m still waiting for chips which I have to keep reminding him about and STILL hasn’t arrived.

Order via ubereats, what arrived was a completely wrong order. Only one thing I ordered arrived (the drink!), the rest was wrong. I opened the fries to find black stuff amongst the fries, like crispy shrivelled stuff? No idea what it is. I had ordered 'seasoned' fries, and these were plain- aside from the black shrivelled pieces. They wrongly sent a burger, instead of the hot dog I'd ordered- it was bland and arrived cold. Very disappointing, would not recommend this restaurant at all! Wish I had read the reviews before ordering.

Waited 1 HOUR for starters then waited another 20 minutes for the mains even though we asked to have all the food altogether. My burger has 2 patties in it which were like actual ROCKS! Ended up not eating it! I've said it once and I'll say it again THIS PLACE NEEDS TO STEP UP!!!

Foods always great on delivery. Slow service in store though. Food never disappoints. Took friends in restaurant and loved the food.

Great tasty variety of food for groups with varied taste and requirements for steaks, burgers, wings and platters. Only problem was that they weren’t prepared for a large group and things were missed out. Premises was smokey with weak extractor fan

Everything about our experience ordering from Jungle Braai was terrible. Firstly the food turned up luke-warm, then we realise they’d left out two of the three mains we ordered. We then called them to report this. After refusing to believe we hadn’t received the items, and saying “well, we sent it, so you must have it” multiple times, they said they needed to investigate and then never called us back. We called them back again 15mins later because the other food was starting to get cold and they had “no record” of our complaint, but they said the order was being remade and was on its way. A further 30 mins later we call to check on our food, the initial items that arrived were now cold, and you guess it, they have “no record” of the call before promising the delivery of the missing items, said it was our problem and then proceeded to hang up the phone every time I called back trying to get a resolution until I finally got put into a different employee who couldn’t do anything about the situation anyway, but at least tried to explain that the restaurant was a shambles which is why he had been employed... no apology though. Across 3 hours and 21 calls (largely due to being hung up on continuously) we tried to resolve the issue with our order. And as I sit here hours later I am still without food, apology or compensation. I have never encountered such rudeness, unprofessionalism or lack of customer courtesy. Terrible restaurant. The worst experience.

Sticky tables, uncleared plates, dirty walls, rubbish stored at the back... that was enough for me and it turned me off my food.

Four of us went here yesterday and we ordered: chicken burger- it was very bland Mixed grill platter- chops were ok I wasn’t too fond of the sauce used on the chicken. My sister got the rib eye steak which she said was ok. The seasoned fries are much better than the steak chips. Overall I found the food lacked flavour. The wait was terrible. We had to ask three times before we managed to place our order and that took ages because they didn’t have the king prawns and so there was so much confusion on what to replace it with. Then the food took another half and hour to come. The wings came cold. My sister ordered corn on the cob as one of her sides I tasted a bit it was so soggy! My cousin was being a pain and the waiters were being very patient without seeming annoyed. They only accept cash, so my cousin went to the cash machine and his card got stuck. The manager allowed us to make him a bank transfer using mobile banking.

Ordered food for delivery. Very long wait for food to be delivered and when it was, not only had they forgotten to deliver some items but the food tasted like it had gone bad too! The burger gave a member of my family food-poisoning! It's safe to say we won't be ordering from them again. Avoid!

Went hear with friends for late night food, ordered a platter and it did not take time to arrive although it was a weekday. Food was nice, service was nice and price reasonable Over a good place to eat with your friends

Great to try a new place locally, never had South African before. We ordered: one massive and very tasty veggie burger, lamb chops, chicken fritters, coleslaw, chips, and two dips. Portions were very generous, tasty, and the prices are very reasonable (massive burger £7.90, big enough to share). Will definitely order again

We were walking by and decided to pop in. Prices were reasonable and the food was tasty. I had the half chicken which was very filling and tasty. Staff were very friendly and we enjoyed the meal. Oreo milkshake was also good!

We ordered the platter for 3 which consists of little bits of everything. And a full rack of ribs. Its served on a sizzler. The service was ok but the time for service the food was long. Overall a poor execution and with no consistency between the 3 platters ordered. The meat was tender but prawns was quite rubbery. Everything here is served with the same sauce which is quite lacking. The portions are really for 3 even though advertised for 3 even though we had left over chicken. There is not much difference in texture with lamb chops and steak (flat and slim) being the same, 5 tiny king prawns and a whole chicken. (Not served at the same time) Lamb ribs tiny and chewy, laced in the same sauce. Steak chips served are not steak chips rather fat chip. Coleslaw was nice. Corn along with most of the platter was burnt. No skill here. The food didn't look too appetising as it was placed with no care or plan. The mocktails are terrible would avoid it. £3.50 per glass with the wrong ratios of syrup ice and fruit juice. Prices where ok. Not reccomended by me. Whilst there a customer called asking what the meat was...the manager replied I don't know.. I think "Lamb Beef".. was quite amusing.

We ordered quite a range from the menu to include the lamb chops (which were to die for),the T bone steak, chicken and the fillet.

Got a takeaway delivered. Half of it was missing and they argued about it. Onion rings were supermarket frozen as was the garlic bread and veggie burger. Won't get anything from there again

We ordered for delivery which arrived 25 minutes late - fair enough, that happens. One burger was missing, and so were all the rustic chips and sauce. When I called, the guy said they'd removed the rustic chips from our order but couldn't explain why, and said he'd call me back in a minute. 5 minutes later I rang again and they were trying to track down the delivery driver. After another 20 minutes they called back to say they'd send a replacement burger. By this time everyone else had finished eating. The veggie burger that my friend got was amazingly greasy - like frozen bubble & squeak in an untoasted brioche bun which disintegrated. The lukewarm soggy non-garlic garlic bread and floppy onion rings were clearly straight out of a supermarket freezer. It was a very poor experience on all fronts, and I'm gutted that I wasted my money. I'll never order from them again. Don't be in the food business if you can't guarantee a modicum of quality.

A family favourite. The burgers always taste fresh and juicy. However, the 25 minute for the order to arrive is... annoying. It's possible that if you order earlier they may have it ready in time for pick up! Or better still.. get it delivered!

Jungle Brai is siutated in a very run down part of Walthamstow. The previous owners served up lush hot plates at a VERY reasonable price so one could forgive the location as it was always packed inside and full of atmosphere at a great price.

Ordered a T-bone steak and it tasted horrible. Have been going to jungle braai for years but have always had the worst food at the Walthamstow branch. Tasted like a very cheap bit of meat! Will not be going back.

Visitamos a la familia. Mi hija sirvieron peri pollo peri que estaba cruda por dentro y la sangre era el goteo. Horrible! Le dije a la persona que estaba sirviendo a cambiarlo, pero me dijo que estaba hablando a la persona equivocada. Entonces fui hasta el hasta puntos, no había nadie. Entonces me dijeron que el personal de cocina sobre el pollo crudo y les dije que mi familia ha sido desanime ver el pollo crudo así que no quiero pollo más. El camarero entonces vino a mi mesa y me dijo que me iba a dar carne de pollo, pero no quería porque mi hija no quiere comer cualquier carne. El camarero nos dio carne de pollo aún con mi permiso. Cuando se paga la cuenta, me estaban cobrando la prima peri peri de pollo que me había vuelto. ¡Increíble! ! ! ! Y luego el director/propietario está diciendo no a mencionar en frente de otros clientes! ! ! Hola no sirven comida cruda y sucia. Él todavía tranquilamente me cobraron quater pollo, miré el recibo y que estaba allí. . . Otra vez tuve que decirle que ni siquiera pedir un pollo barrio, ¿cómo entrar en mi cuenta? ? ? ? Creo que es era hecho deliverately como personas no comprobar su cuenta correctamente. Muy honestos! ! ! Tercer servicio de primera clase y la peor comida que he probado que tenía.

Ordered a T-bone with a tray of Lamb Chops as a starter. They used to be really well done. But alas like other once good restaurants they too have dropped their standards once they got a feeling that the crowds were here to stay. They lamb chops were not lamb meat but mutton meat. Lamb is soft to eat (young animal) but mutton being a grown up animal is tough meat and is a lot harder to cook. When asked about they say its a bad batch of meat, that would be fine for a one off, but this experience was drawn over 3 visits. Its all ways a bad batch or should I say its now always mutton instead of lamb. Now coming to the T-bone. This too was too tough and the cut was definitely then previous visits. I have been consistently been spending over £30 a week in this place and even had the loyalty card. Well not anymore. They don't deserve it. Now I have to find a new steak house.They also took forever to deliver the substandard meal.Shame they fell this far for money

Came here for Dinner (Iftar) during Ramadan , I booked and ordered over the phone in advance. Food was served bang on time.The steak was delicious and the burger was perfect. The only criticism I have is the bill was a bit high £78 for 3 people but the food did taste very good.

I've eaten here a few times with friends & its always a great time. The food is excellent & I highly recommend the t-bone steak! It's very reasonably priced too & the service is very good. The milkshakes are to die for & definitely worth all the calories!! It's a great easy going restaurant with a lovely atmosphere & perfect to enjoy a nice meal with family or friends.

The staff were nice, unfortunately not efficient and organised however they were kind and acknowledged mistakes and were quick to correct them, what more could you want from customer service?However, the food, it was not good. It was average and I'd eat there if I was extremely hungry but then again if I was then I'd head over to KFC because it's cheaper and way tastier, really sorry.

By far the worst customer service ever. Ordered some lamb chops. Completely ice cold, obviously annoyed and threw it out. Called Jungle Braai up & said they will give me a new batch failing to mention to keep the old cold ones. Delivery men arrived, requesting the old ones, we said we threw them out. They were unable to speak English so they called their manager up and he was dismissive and delivery men walked away without any apology or any sort of refund. Appalled by this awful customer service I called Jungle Braai several times, they didn't even care, hung up on us, claimed they couldn't hear us (cowards). The men were so rude. Had a feeling it's because we were young women, probably that's why they dismissed it. I visited the restaurant last week, took 45 mins for my food to arrive. Service is sooooo BAD!!!! The Brick Lane branch is so much better. The customer service is great. Been there loads of times. I informed just eat and they offered me a £10 voucher.

Excellent and very generous lunch meal deal for around £5 (a main, side and drink). Chicken skewers were really good. The side salad was massive. Very quick service. Would go again

This restaurant is easily one of my favourites, whenever planning an outing with friends and cannot come to a decision on where to eat this place will never be declined, been visiting this restaurant for over 20 times in the space of 3 years and it seems to be a better experience each time.They recently went through some refurbishment and improved their menu, i was back there on the first day to check it out. They have only gotten better, prices are perfect and food is of a really high standard, when visiting this place you HAVE to buy a portion of their ribs, they have the best sauce you will ever taste, all the burgers are well cooked and flavoured and the Jungle Salad is great tooOnly drawback is that they used to do awesome Pizzas but have now stopped!

Food was good - Being South African the Boerewors was not a genuine boerewors.Size of 2 sausages and £9 ??service needs jacking Up , could improve on ambience , will go again for the food - Bit different to the usual .

This is a little gem of a restaurant. I visit this place more then any other. Good quality food, wide variety of options and friendly staff. Consistency is key for me, and this place always delivers. Well done to the owner for bringing a unique concept and providing in day in day out.

Finally after months of waiting. Jungle Braai opened its doors with a new refit. The restaurant looks way better and less haphazard. Love the tasteful decor. Thanks for finally getting rid of those horrible pictures.Atmosphere was nice and had a real buzz. So we got straight into the mains. We ordered t bone steak 11oz, south joburg burger, a peri peri chicken burger i forget the name, a chicken hotdog and an order of chicken fritters. None of these come with side orders or salad which would be nice also we were not asked how we would like our steajs and burgers. A must in any establishment that makes steaks and burgers. As much as i enjoyed the size of the burger i was a bit disappointed with the flavour as there wasnt much seasoning and had to rely on good old ketchup.The steak was flat and a bit overcooked. We asked for peppercorn sauce but they put the house braai sauce and insisted it was pepper. We didnt raise it because by then we were starving. Kids enjoyed their peri peri burger and chicken fritters. The service was good but lacked something which i cant exactly pinpoint. If i was gonna be honest. Much as i love an exciting new menu. I preferred the old menu. It was more south african. Now its an ordinary steak and burger joint but still great value for money.

The food scene is currently buzzing with new places opening up left,right and centre. However, you can never go wrong with a classic meal at Jungle Braai. The food was, as always, delicious. The flavours were astounding and really hit the spot. A favourite of mines were the prawns we had as a starter. The service was also tip-top. We were even given free tasty ice cream at the end of our meals. Would come back here again and again without fail.

A great Halal place to eat. Have been there many times and would keep going. Lovely food and very helpful staff.

Jungle Braai in Walthamstow is a no nonsense sort of place. The restaurant is not fancy however, the food and staff are lovely.There's a range of options from burgers to other more traditional dishes and it is well worth a visit

This is my 2nd visit, The 1st time I came with friends and enjoyed it so much that when Head of my Department was visitng from Europe I decided to take him there as he was keen on my recommendation.A lovely set restaurant with the walls covered in an awesome hand painting of the Jungle theme as you enter. (mind blowing painting) As we entered we were seated immediatley and catered for by the waiter who was a great guy.We ordered the Braai Mixed Platter to start with which consisted of wings, lamb chops chicken fritters and some prawns, I could not fault anything from this plate, it was just perfectly cooked and melted swiftly in my mouth. (The sauce the fritters came with is fantastic)I see my boss put down his knife and fork and pick up the lam chop like I was going to eat them all. (I had advised him that we can order more if you want no problem "I will get" I said. it was a scene from Happy days.For our mains we ordered a Steak and another Braai Mixed Platter as it was so good.The steak we ended up sharing but this was due to the fact we was still enjoying our so called starter (Braai mixed platter) in a way I though it would be a perfect opportunity to have our discussion but we were so much into our food that we had to wait untill it was finished before we started business talk as my Boss could not stop complimenting the food and kept on comparing it to all the al a carte restaurants he has been visitng in the past few days and advising how they could not be justifed with the quality and quanity of meat of this awesome place.The Peri Peri chips and Jungle salad were also part of our dinner and was a great side to add If you are actually hungry then go for the steak, or the Zulu Burgers.If you don't mind ginger and feeling a bit risky then definitely try the ZOBO drink it is then best on the menu. Otherwise you can choose the Blue Mango. Overall the service was on point, the food was hot, and the price was competitive. Approx £40 for 2 people.

We visited this restaurant after visiting the excellent Osborne Street branch. Burgers and steaks were excellent and staff were so friendly and helpful. Prices are fab for huge portions and it's halal so a nice offer for those looking for a high quality halal offer. Would defo recommend and will be visiting again! :)

Was recommended by a friend, and have been back on several occasions since that first visit. If I had not been told about the place highly unlikely that I would have walked into the restaurant as what you see walking past will not draw you in! Its nice and clean surroundings, inexpensive and good quality food in relaxed surroundings...and to top it all a free ice cream on the way out :-)

They do some very tasty pizzas and a tasty chicken salad. Lamb chops have been under cooked a few times so have been put of by that.

Really good quality and very tasty barbecue food served in a very nice way by great staff. It's a little dark inside but that adds to the african feel. Try to go every time we're around in yhe area

We had Zulu burgers (beef for me, chicken for the mrs).The burgers were a great size, difficult to finish and the flavor was amazing. The chicken strips starters were perfect and had a special dipping sauce. I had to buy some sauce to take home

Jungle Braai is a bit of a hit and miss. Ate and ordered from here several times. When its good, it's very good. When its bad, it's very bad. Unlike the one in Whitechapel, which is flawless from a couple of visits (review of that on my profile as well).This one doesn't have the most comfortable eating area but when the food arrives, you can easily forget your surroundings. The food is very tasty! Their pizzas are some of the best I've ever had but have they stopped doing them? That's what I was told when I called to place an order (July 2015).The customer service might not be to everybody's taste and I can see why but others will have no problem with it (like me). Just normal people going about their business in what's normal for them.In my last experience, the person that took the call was serving a customer in the shop, so I was waiting without being acknowledged, overhearing the man. Then, when I was placing my order, I really had to emphasise as he couldn't understand properly. Then he cut me off before he could finish taking my order by answering someone in the shop again. Then he came back to me eventually. I just found the whole thing funny.It was Eid and maybe the pressure was on. Maybe others would be less forgiving and put the phone down (especially with a first experience like that) but if you get to know the people, they're good people trying their best.I've had wrong things delivered. Always check before you pay if you're getting it delivered. They dealt with those issues properly. So even that hasn't kept me away.I just hope they haven't stopped doing pizzas as they make them wonderful.

The marinade is the best iv had, wings taste so good, i dream about them. Service is good every time i have been. The mango mocktail drink is amazing. Burgers are a little thin, although a very affordable price for the location.

Food was average, service could be better. A small level up from regular fast food. I've heard the pizza is really good.

My partner and I went to Jungle Braai in Walthamstow on the 08/04/2015. Previously, we have been to the Bricklane branch and really enjoyed it. The starters consisted of burnt wings and boiled potato skins with no fillings. The waiter got our order wrong and disappeared, so when the wrong burger came they told us we could wait 30 minutes for the right burger! The t-bone steak I ordered was a small skinny piece of meat. However, the marinate was pretty good. When paying at the till, another waiter gave us half a pump of ice cream on a cone, saying the manager told him to. The chef also let us know that the burger given to us wasn't on the menu, the waiter just made it up. WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?

I went here with my wife and 15 other colleagues from work. We booked 2 tables, 12 mean and 5 ladies. The men ordered 2 large platters (£50) and 2 pizzas. The ladies ordered 1 platter. Food arrived quick and was nice. I didn't eat the pizza, just stuck to the meat. Chicken salad, ribs, chops. Chicken tikka, sausage, kebab and a large whole chicken. All with 4 sides, stick to chips and onion rings. All with a couple of bottles of fizzy. The food was nice, the BBQ sauce is really tasty. The food was enough for the men. The coleslaw was not tasty - too much mayo. I would definitely go back, but the one complaint I had was that we had just finished our food and we're chatting, the waiter brought our bill and asked us to leave as they had people waiting!!! Cheeky, as we had booked the tables quite a few weeks in advance. The ladies got their food late and we're given their bill half way through eating. They were then encouraged to leave as the 'men' we're waiting outside. We had actually gone to pray eesha. I would have given it 4*, but for rushing us.

I went to this place by chance while in East London. Was planning to go to the Turkish next door but changed mind. Service was excellent food was good. The lamb chops are not Lamb as they are too big to be but that me being picky. The t bone was without fillet and only striploin so one sided but was advised that's the only pieces they had on the day. The manager is great and gave us sometime and had a chat with us. I think this place got its idea and style from a Leicester based joint similar name. But very good. My review is based on a Wednesday mid afternoon sitting so can't comment when busy. Would definitely visit if in area again.

My first time in here was with my husband on an evening to break fast in Ramadan. I imagined it to be busy in Ramadan when it's time to break fast and I was definitely right there. It was noisy, busy and chaotic. Must admit it looked like a restaurant made up in someone's front room or worse in someone's shed! The service was horrendous. Food took a long time to arrive, and we had to ask for our drinks. We had to go collect our own jugs of water that the kitchen staff were leaving on the side, don't know where the waiters had to. We had to ask the waiter where are our bowl of chips was and he brought them over slamming them down on the table not even looking where he was putting them - half the bowl was on my plate and half on the table!! No cutlery was offered it was assumed that we would use our hands because chicken was on the bone. Our chicken platter came with a bottle of 7UP which was just put on our table. Plastic cups were given to us to pour the drink ourselves. So all in all service was absolutely awful. The food was actually quite nice but the experience was spoiled by the service. I would probably go back for a takeaway but I'd never go back for a meal inside!

It was my first time there. I ordered a beef burger meal. The beef was very dry, lacked seasoning. There was no real taste.

Service is poor only one waiter, there is no smile on his face, Food horrible, boiled chicken with test of sauce and cold form inside and warm from the top which is called grilled!

Food is good, place is small a few tables. Probably the smallest restaurant in the world.There was only one guy who was serving ordering cooking cleaning washing. Good place to go if your not going at a busy time and to get a quick bite. By the way cash only place.

well well , certainly some of the best food i have tasted anywhere around and can hardly complain about the price. still hugely busy on weekends and would recommend this place to any one with good taste.

We ate here because of recommendation be friends, a place that does good steaks and piri piri meals with an authentic South African twist.The restaurant is more of a glorified take away shack. We were lucky to get a table when we arrived without the need to wait. The restaurants has some African artwork to set the scene and plenty of African speciality dishes. My daughter had a steak which she liked although I felt the steak looked too thin. We had various chicken dishes and the chips are the fat variety rather than the usual French fries.The food was good and reasonable priced but not as outstanding as people make it out to be. Piri Piri dishes and halal steak dishes have been widely available for a few years, even up in the north of England.

We went there as were going to the halal food festival,after a 3hour journey,the meal was no disappointment,the ribs were awesome,as was the platter,the place is quite small but they were constantly busy,the staff made us feel very welcome..if travelling down most certainly will be going again.

I went to the walthamstow branch on the 13/10/13 for my sisters birthday, 16 of us in total inclu 5 kids under the age of 12. Firstly as you walk in it looks gloomy,dirty,cheap,depressing, we felt very uncomfortable as the waiters wanted us out within ONE HOUR which we found this very rude and disrespectful when we made it clear this was a birthday meal out. Secondly when we sat down the waiter came over to us to take our order - it's very important that you look clean and presentable but in this case the waiter had dirty nails and smelt as if he had not had a wash in quite sometime which did put us totally off.Thirdly they had a small A4 paper hand written poster on the wall saying 'cash only' which only indicates they are not paying tax ( Tax Issues) its a bit late when you have ordered your food, have no cash and the kids are going crazy for food, half the food was not available on the menu!!! And they don't have a KIDS MENU!!!THIS WAS MORE LIKE A WORKMEN CAFE WITH RESTAURANTS PRICES PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO HOLD YOUR NOSE.Food was ok, cafe quality. Recommend getting a take away, not worth going for a sit down meal and experience what we went through.
