Good after I'm sitting in one of your public houses in Manchester the ape and apple I've ordered them same 2 drink s 3 times paying £9.70 on 2 occasions the last time paying £10.70 I asked the 2 members of safe was there a price change to be informed there's a different price Monday to Friday I was charged the week day price as its Sunday its higher not set by them but yourself its only £1 but is your employee steeling from yourselfs as if doing this on a regular basis it could amount to a lot of money I advised him I'm locol not s visiter as I live in Salford he offered to give me the £1 out of his tips its not the issue I have its the rubbish he's tried to give Thanks in advance Steven booth

Great fun & a really enjoyable experience

Turned up for without a reservation as had not planned to having a sit down meal when travelling to Chester - was a party of 6 which included 2 children. Staff shuffled some reservations about and found us a table on a busy Friday evening. Did so with a warm welcome when they could have easily said no. Ordered food and drink - everything arrived together. Great choice selection and the kids menu was really nice to build. Good value for money and portions were great. Staff were brilliant - smiles, courteous and nothing too big of an ask. Good atmosphere all round and an enjoyable meal was had by all.

Friendly staff. Good food. Didn't realise until we got home that all 7 meals didn't have the chipolata or stuffing. The Yorkshires were not the extra large like the photo of the Christmas meal on the menu, but 2 tiny ones. Also check your receipt before you leave. As we were over charged. Would eat there again if in the area though. But wouldn't drive 4.5 hours to meet there with family again. Would eat elsewhere. Photo child's Christmas main.

Went in for food P5 Cheadle Hulme 7:30pm with an special needs 16 year old refused to serve as new landlord wants all children out by 8pm. This is supposed to be a family environment in the heart of the village. POOR

Alain(the French man) was a very kind man and I think he should get a reward for his kindness and the food was amazing thank you.😃

One of the last original breweries in Manchester. Not ideal for 44 tonne artic, but can be managed. Great staff.

Absolutely awful organisation nowadays. I parked in the car park at one of their pubs and didn’t realise I had to let the staff know so ended up paying £100 for the privilege of buying a couple of beers. Wrote to the CEO of Holts but got a standard anonymous response. Keep well away. Joey Holts will be turning in his grave. After drinking their beers for over 45 years I’ll never drink another.

7 weeks!! for an online order to be delivered is completely unacceptable. Had to waste time contacting by email and calls to finally receive the order. No apology, no compensation, no more orders from me or my family.

First time in stone mill pub in Warrington the service of the staff was excellent especially Emma she helped us smiling, the food was excellent and good price for what you get thank you to all the staff and I will be back in again thank you 5star .

Ordered some wine online on 3rd December (Xmas pressies) from the Brewery....now 26th December and no sign of their arrival despite an email on the 14th from the Company stating that they had been dispatched......very disappointing.....even in these trying times. UPDATE.....sent another email to the Brewery on 29/12/21 as the wine had not arrived suggesting a refund would be easier. Return email on 31st stated that monies had been refunded, without further explanation. Don't know what I did to deserve such appalling customer service but I would not recommend nor will I be using them again. UPDATE......I thought I would give this company an attempt to redeem themselves from my last review as they were selling the wine I wanted at the best price available. So I made an order on 19th May.....it never arrived and no communication!! I sent 2 emails asking the questions......no reply!! Things were not looking good however I then sent my questions via 'messenger' and got a reply immediately. Subsequent investigation by them revealed a difficulty with the delivery company and profuse apologies and all in a timeous manner. Much more the way it should be! Furthermore, I was given my payment by return and the goods were delivered. My faith has been restored. Thank you.

Morning Star in Swinton is an excellent pub. Friendly staff, great food and top quality beer. They’re also very active in the community. Well worth a visit.

All Joseph holt's pubs have great atmosphere great beer and the prices are very competitive i always enjoy a beer and food in these pubs the staff are so polite and friendly my local is the church inn newton heath and let me say ive had some great times in there the entertainment in there is great they cater for all well worth 5 stars keep it up guys ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Placed order for 3 X5 litre beer kegs fast delivery fantastic guy who delivered them very helpful and the beer is spot on I bought 2 largers and a stout ready for the Bank holiday weekend as I'm off work so party time in my shed (pub) a poster would go nice on my wall so hears good luck to me ....

Booked sunday dinner on 17th April for 18 of the family at the Blue Bell inn Whitefield bury.The staff had rearranged the furniture to accommodate us all which was very thoughtful. Service was brilliant from start to finish,food was bang on and the staff were excellent, we commend you all.The main thing was my holts black was bang on form.we will definitely be calling back.Next on the list will be the friendship on scholes lane prestwich, next week,see you soon,john.

Can't praise Gary and Beverley enough at the Crown in Horwich, always the warmest of welcomes. Nice place to go for a drink, good food and friendly staff and locals. Cask ales are amazing! "Traditionally Manchester's Finest Ales" is their boast and was their motto on things like bar towels and beermats; and very fine ales they are too. At one stage I had visited over 100 pubs in their tied estate and enjoyed the experience immensely. The houses vary from street corner boozers, to 1960s estate houses, to country dining pubs, Joseph Holt seems to have it all. For me, their best beer will always be Bitter, but the strong seasonal ale, Sixex is very tasty too. In sum, seek out their houses and their ales.

I started to order mini kegs during the lockdown and they always arrive exactly on time . I think there a good product at a fair price...keep producing them ! That said they're good but not a patch on a pint of the ( new) cask mild at my local... Terry's The Park Inn Swinton

The best beer by far that Holts Brewery has produced is “Black” It’s a full flavoured stout that has the same wonderful taste as a Guinness without the faff

My favourite beer is Joseph Holts and always will be. I have drunk it for well over 30 years man and boy. My local is The House Without a Name in Harwood and it is without doubt the favourite with all the locals. Nothing else comes close. My wife says that I have Holtsheimers but I love it. Carry on the good work.

When I moved into the Prestwich area had my first drink of Holts ales in 1968 I didn’t find it to my taste but now I am pleased to say I am in an area surrounded by Holts pubs. Every pub has a good atmosphere and the ale and food is spot on, my local is the Eagle and Child in Whitefield who’s managers and staff are always welcoming and helpful. Mike Bramley

I'm a Postie in the isle of man for the last 25 years but I used to love all the Holts pubs. Foresters (Prestwich) Coach n Horses ( Whitefield) Lamb and Stanley (eccles) were my particular favourites. I even managed to get Holts Sixex on cask in the Isle of Man early this year. Absolutely love the Legh Arms in Sale Moor. Always feels like 'a proper pub' but has changed massively to adapt to the differing needs with food and welcoming kids and dogs etc. As for the Heritage Pub Crawl poster. It would look amazing in my garden bar :-)

I love Joseph Holt beer. Takes me back to being "a lot younger" as my dad was brought up in a Joseph Holt pub in Salford called The Old House at Home. Some of the pubs when i was a teenager in Bury had JH pubs....and I've managed to obtain glasses and a Bar Towle from JH for my garden bar. Their beer.....amazing stuff too!!

I have been going in the Lord Nelson in Urmston for over 40 years, seen a few tenants come and go, but the family atmosphere has never changed. I've tried a couple of the different beers too, but they all have the unmistakable Holts taste that I took to from day 1

I have worked here on numerous occasions and always guaranteed a warm welcome. Such a friendly bunch of people to work with without exception. Always a pleasure.

Ordered 2 kegs and a glass direct. Made available mistake on collecting, emailed and sorted promptly and delivered FOC following day. Only query is they left the delivery with my 15 yr old son, which is a worry if he was ordering his own drink, security needed. I only ordered as a quest too not even logged in.

The Spread Eagle in Chorlton ,is a must to visit.Great environment, food is delicious ,with all the favourite Holt ales.Highly recommended.

Still a relatively cheap pint of beer compared to the usual imported brands. I'd recommend the Bitter & the Stout, varies in price but averages around £3.50 per pint depending on which pub you frequent.

A family run brewery that exceed what you wish to find in a pint of beer be it bitter or their outstanding "black" mild served to perfection in the Bradford, Turks head and Hare and hounds.

Loving the addition of Trailblazer, Hop and Crystal on draught to acompany my bottled Two Hoots regular tipple in The Tiger Moth, Irlam, Manchester. Hosted by owners Seamus and Eileen McCallion. Boasting a refurb done during lockdown with no help from Holt's. Great beer just got better.. 😉😁👍

As a long standing visitor to many Holts pub it’s great to see that after years that all Holts pubs continue to produce good food and beers with a great variety. Still in my experience the cheapest places to eat and drink with a natural friendly welcome from all staff. Looking forward to having a couple later this evening.

The Turk's Head - Fine choice of beers in comfortable surroundings. Roof top bar in suitable weather. Friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere. Definitely worth a regular visit!

I drink in in the Atherton Arms and eat at the Bowling Green, Charnock Richard. Both amazing places to go to and enjoy food and drink. Amazing staff and service and friendly atmosphere.

I have been drinking in Holts pub since the exact day of my eighteen birthday year 1986. I have drunk many a pint in a variety of holts pubs, even as far as Southport, but mostly in central Manchester area. My new favourite holts pub is the lower Turks head on shudehill in the city centre. I was lucky to be one of the first customers through the door, when it first opened. The staff were friendly and I purchased a lovely pint of my favourite holts gold lager.

The Ape and Apple, John Dalton St., Manchester Bustling old school pub. Holt’s beers and lagers always well kept and excellent value. Always worth a visit.

Blue Bell Manchester Road Bury. We have been going here for years to eat or just have a few drinks. Recently the standard has rapidly declined and we’ve decided we won’t be going again which is a shame. We had to ask for the very sticky table to be cleaned before we ordered our drinks. Waitress was not congenial. We then ordered 2 starters and fish and chips plus house salad with chicken. Firstly the fish batter was so greasy my partner could only eat the fish inside. Then the chef thought it’s ok to fill a dish with so many leaves piled high I was left searching for the chicken. The waitress we had was clearly only interested in checking on one table we later learned belonged to the family of the landlord (which apparently included the same waitress) Hence our table was completely ignored with finished dishes still left until we asked for them to be removed so we could get some more drinks. On top of this the pub no longer has Sports tv although it’s still advertised outside. Disappointing.

Afternoon. I was having a drink in this lovely Pub . But can you tell me why Joseph Holt Brewery are not helping with keeping the pub up to a good standard. . Urinal covered over with black bag - One of the Taps not working - Graffiti on the walls - hand dryer not working hand towel in its place . - and the toilet roll holder needs replacing- And we see food on the black board above the bar yet when we asked about food, we was told they are not serving food . I can live with that because of Covld 19 . But the rest of the fixtures and fittings, can a member of your management team not go down and see what they can do . The lady behind the bar was very nice and welcoming but it's a shame that you as a Brewery are letting them down . Come On Joseph Holt Your better then this . So the next time I visit the place again can you promise that things will be improved ?

Ordered some beer to be delivered and it took double the time, and there was a distinct lack of communication when I inquired about my order. Really spoilt the whole experience won't be ordering again.

On Tuesday 19-10-21 having three managers visit me from the Midlands, I decided to take them for a meal and a drink at my local pub The Griffin Heald Green. We entered the lounge at 13-00 to be told there was no food being served only pizza’s. We ordered our choices which were not great and our beers. All the food advertisements on placards and also inside the hostelry were a sham and I was totally embarrassed. The manager was inept didn’t come over and apologise. Why was there no food? .

We visited the golden lion swinton for some food + drink, the bar staff was very helpful Nat and Craig were very friendly + helpful, the food was cooked to perfection I would recommend the buttermilk chicken burger thanks to the chef Antony we will be returning thanks guys!

Went to the Railway pub in Buxton 11 July 21, nice pub, generally pleasant staff (except 1 member) the man..manager showing customers to their seats was not wearing a mask and was well within 1 meter of me, no problem I was wearing a Mask...however when he came to the table..not wearing a mask and I was seated and as per recommendations was not wearing a mask I challenged him about it....he said he was "excempt" but I felt threatened...surely breweries should not be allowing staff exempt or not to be any where near their customers if they are not wearing a mask. These non mask wearing people can easily spread Covid to their seated customers who are not wearing mask. This person was quite unpleasant when I very politely challenged him to show me his official exemption.. There was another issue when I queried the bill, again very politely, no raised voice and no bad language, at this point this possibly Covud carrying manager??...asked me to leave. All the other staff were exemplary but this person who is so called "exempt" needs to be relogated to a back room position where he cannot infect customers.

Another fine evening at the ostrich! All health and safety in place, staff very efficient and friendly, as always, fine management, good job!! Well done!!!

Very disappointed with the Richmond in Southport as a regular customer called in for a drink did track and trace . Waitress in and out and no eye contact after nearly 15 minutes got up and left with no service .will be a long before we return 👎
