Jinli in City of London, Westminster

Went into here not expecting major food but had no queues. We ordered food and drinks and everything arrived really quickly and so fresh and hot. The curry was the best curry I have had in a long time, even the egg fried rice was so good. Reasonable drink prices too. Will definitely go back.

When my nephew and I ordered our food and drinks, a family of 10 arrived and the waiter directed them to their table. We received our starters and drinks, however the waiters took a lot of time and focus on the large family, they forgot about our food. We waited and waited while the large family got their food and the other customers in the restaurant received theirs. I felt we must have been the only people that didn’t get receive our meal yet. I signalled the waiter, she apologised flippantly, I was so annoyed. When my food finally arrived, my nephew sat there still waiting for his. I signalled another waiter to find out about his food, it was only then my nephew was able to eat. It was such a TERRIBLE experience. The food wasn’t even that great and paid £60 for the two of us! I understand that we’re in London and everything is expensive, but I would appreciated paying the price if we were treated with the same attentiveness.

Buon ristorante asiatico nella media, sapori genuini, accettabili anche per noi occidentali che poco reggiamo il piccante. Anche se, nel caso, meglio specificarlo al cameriere. Consiglio di condividere diversi antipasti e ciotole varie di sapori particolari. Prezzi forse troppo alti per il servizio offerto.

Anlässlich eines geschäftlichen London-Aufenthaltes waren wir hier als Gruppe mit vier Personen. Einen Tisch haben wir sofort bekommen, obwohl es bei der telefonischen Anfrage noch hieß, dass es recht voll sei und wir nicht reservieren könnten. Die Tsing-Tao-Biere waren lecker und gut gekühlt. Die Speisen kam (schinaüblich) in leicht planloser Reihenfolge, doch am Ende war alles da und wir konnten uns über klassisch-chinesische Gerichte freuen. Besonders die Schweine- und Hühnerfleischgerichte haben mir sehr gut geschmeckt. Es scheint auch nicht allzuviel Glutamat in der Verwendung zu sein. Auf jeden Fall eine gute Empfehlung in Chinatown.

The food here is well cooked, tasty and excellent value for money. The wine selection is limited to a choice of 2 red and 2 white but it is reasonably priced and goes well with the food. Sadly the big let down is the waiting staff. Although we had a table booked the waiter seemed suprised at our arrival and moved some chairs onto a table so we could be seated, not a promising start. The menus appeared but then no one came near us to ask if we wanted a drink or needed any help, after a lot of arm waving our order was finally taken, food arrived but then another lengthy period in which no one asked if everything was ok or if we needed more drinks. After we had eaten a lot of arm waving eventually got us a bill, with service charge automatically added, but then no one came to collect the money or provide a card reader, so yet more arm waving ensued before we were finally able to pay. This restaurant deserves far better management and basic staff training as the pleasure of an excellent meal soon evaporates due to such poor service.

My reviews are honesty and true.... First time in Jinli and the whole of our party enjoyed all our dishes from the peking duck to the singapore noddles to garlic prawns.... All yummy...

this is a great chinese place in the sea of chinatown, Soho -- well worth the visit and the food is great. the staff are indifferent and expressionless but the meal is worth the attitude. this was suggested to me a by an acquaintance and it was fabulous.

The waiter for our table was extremely pushy and kept trying to get us to buy more drinks and food, even after we said no. He seemed not to understand what consent means and that no means no, because he tried to add things to our order which we didn’t agree to. At the end, he even had the cheek to ask for an extra tip beyond the service charge, despite the dreadful nonstop hard-selling. For that, we took off the service charge entirely. If you don’t want to be hard-sold to or you don’t want a waiter to second guess your every order, try to add things that you didn’t actually say yes to, and then try to get a tip from you at the end — stay far away. Management would do well to find a new and better waiter to replace him.

Mitten in Chinatown haben wir sehr gut gegessen.Die Sechuan Gerichte waren alle top!Der Meeresfrüchtetopf echt spitze,die trockenen Gerichte waren alle sehr lecker.

I love this place! Any friend I may have visiting I always take them here. The drypots are amazing, service is incredibly quick and non intruding! Highly, highly recommend.

Pre theatre time and it was busy which is a good sign. We have had bad experiences in this area and cuisine before, faith was restored. We decided on set meal B for speed, it didn't come out fast showing that it was being freshly prepared (from prepared earlier in the day I'd say). When we asked for it to be rushed, they helped. Very good food, mixed starters, crispy duck pancakes, the duck was shredded at the table, then crispy shredded chilli beef, chicken with green pepper in black bean sauce, stir fried mixed veg and egg fried rice. Plenary of rice for two, plenty. Reading the review of the person being rushed when they got there at 10:20pm! aim suprised that they did not understand the lateness of the day.

Went here for a family meal. Age range 8 to 75. Something for everyone. Staff attentive and friendly. Excellent house wine. Good tasty food and prompt service. Not expensive for London.

Was seeking a joint in China Town following a visit to theatre on a cold winter’s evening and Jinli looked inviting from the square. Simple menu made selection easy & agreeable for both couples. Prompt service with ‘wow’ presentation as if the staff & chef were just waiting for us to arrive! Eaten in Soho often but our tastes buds were amazingly charmed here. Reasonably priced tab, polite & courteous waiters. A memorable visit for ambience, chilled Prosecco, Cobra Beer and gratifying dishes. Worth another visit.

Visited Chinatown on our recent visit to London, selectively chose Jinli, booked a table earlier in the day. Arrived at time stated and shown to our table with no problems. Great menu, good choice of ‘normal’ Chinese type food (as we were with children). Mixed starters - delicious, half crispy duck - huge portion and again lovely, chose several mains all were very tasty and did not disappoint! A little bit annoying, waiters trying to take dirty plates away when others on table we’re still eating….asked to have our bill and it promptly arrived, I was disappointed to find a service charge of approx 12% had been added without consult. I asked about it and was told it was optional, now, I’m no stinge and I always tip but I don’t want to be told how much I should pay or in fact, that I should pay a tip at all, in my mind tips are optional and dependent on service given. Just a little downfall at the end of our visit but definitely recommend for lovely, tasty Chinese food.

Lovely buzz in Chinatown in general it felt so good. Food at Jinli was good. Crispy duck was good the portion of the lotus root was humongous. The waiting staff were attentive and very friendly. Enjoyed this visit.
