Always a great dinner for family and friends Fillet steak is delicious as is the garlic bread Been going here for many years and not had a problem with the food!

The staff were nice, but they got one of our two main course orders completely wrong. It took a while to get their attention and then they had to go and check their own menu twice to confirm the order was indeed wrong. They eventually offered to replace the wrong meal, but then both of us would have eaten on their own by the time they re-made it. No real apology, nothing offered off the bill for their error. The food was ok, a bit basic, certainly nothing special so all in all - we won’t be back.

We visit so often they should charge us rent and can honestly say I’ve never had an experience any less than perfect! Beautiful food, friendly service and a warm atmosphere.

I ordered a delivery from this place the guy on the phone never took our phone number and got our address wrong lack off communication we called up after 45 minutes when we made the order the guy from this restaurant who was taking orders made out he’d been calling but we had no missed calls not being funny the way he spoken to my partner was absolutely out of order be warned don’t order here

What a fantastic place this is. We had heard good reviews and tried it for ourselves and what an amazing meal we had. The service and ambiance was as good as it gets. Will definitely come here again when visiting the area.

Visited here for 1st time a few years ago. Last time a few weeks ago which was good as always. Unfortunately was not up to standard. Pizzas we had were soggy dough and uncooked toppings. Paid full bill but will not go back there . Would not recommend at the moment.

The food, the service, the ambience (a no-nonsense Italian restaurant) were superb. I can't say any more than that. However, for the price of the meals, the proportions should have been 2/3 at best (my preference). Put another way, for the size of the meals, the cost should have been half as much again. I know the restaurant's been going since whenever, and for us it's a really cheap night out, but in fairness they deserve a better income for all their hard work.

The Italian connection is a main stay of Boston Around 30 years ago they opened and we have been visiting regularly ever since Sometimes very busy and very loud but always great service and friendly staff Amazing garlic bread and pasta dishes Some items on the menu are expensive but 4 people can eat here cheaper than 2 can at Domino’s! I love fillet steak here and the sauces are always fantastic Portions are huge Go early if you want a quiet meal

We had the misfortune of eating here yesterday and it will be the last time. There was one large table starting to be seated when we arrived and another set up. There were several smaller tables already having been served. The service was fine and orders taken. Food served was mixed, some good and some average. It all went downhill when the second large table arrived. It was like being on the football terraces rather than a restaurant. I understand that these places are very noisy but the noise and behaviour was unacceptable. I also understand that the restaurant does not know who will be arriving and cannot be responsible for behaviour, however, as we were paying customers also, I would have thought that they could have had a word with them to turn it down a notch. Obviously their money was better than ours, though. We said something to the staff on leaving but to no avail. I’m sure they won’t be bothered to hear that we won’t be back but it was a very disappointing experience that ruined a night out with friends. We’ll make sure to tell everyone of our experience too. Never again.

Used to visit this restaurant many years ago when we lived in the area, always thought it was good value, home cooked Italian fare. Visited last week with a few friends before watching Top Gun 2 at the cinema nearby. For those that don’t know, Top Gun 2 is a sequel to a film from 36 years ago which ironically is fresher than the food served here! All six of us ordered “different” main dishes however five of the dishes were covered in the same uninspiring sauce, even the risotto! On the plus side the garlic bread starters were good and the waiting staff friendly and attentive if a little run off their feet!! Overall Tom Cruise hasn’t changed much but this place has. 3 out of 10

I came here on a Saturday evening, very busy but exceptionally well run! I ordered the pollo crema (chicken in a creamy sauce with white wine, mushrooms and onion. Served with chips and salad. This was the most amazing creamy sauce and succulent chicken! Definitely going back soon

Ordered our takeaway was told it’ll be 15 minutes waited 45 minutes! When I asked how long my takeaway will be he then told me it’ll be another 1Hour and half.The owner was so rude and arrogant with his staff! Absolutely unacceptable!!

Disgusting, awful ......... very poor service, they certainly dont or more importantly, cannot, work as a team food was tasteless, the pizza was supposed to come with chillies, it had never been within a mile of a chilli...... the Sirloin wasn't seasoned at all and not cooked as requested......and the fries were just frozen mass produced. Noisy and cramped which indicates it's popularity. Not impressed when first being shown to the upstairs function room, handrails on stairs felt gruffty ! Has loads of really good reviews so might be the exception to the general opinion.

Late night granted but I've never had an italian like it. Garlic bread too thick. End of. Absolutely no point saying otherwise. It was too much dough, I'd doubt it was fresh. Pasta, wow....what a portion. Not fresh pasta, stuck together. Reminded me of cheap smart price pasta with chopped tomatoes on top with a hint of chilli. My 3 year old could make better. Dessert was what appeared to be a shop bought tiramisu with cheap ice cream. Its only got 2 stars because of their hospitality late on. Actually, just downgraded this to a 1 ! Avoid at all costs, it shouldn't be allowed the word "Italian" in front of it.

Amazing food and superb value for money. Definitely a great example of an independent restaurant showing the chains like Prezzos how to offer great food at fair prices... Will be back

The service was excellent, the staff pleasant and friendly and knew all about their menu. The food we had was varied and well prepared and presented. It was busy and with plenty of staff who coped very well. The atmoshere was easy, friendly and we were not rushed in any way. Good value.

Came here for a family meal after hearing promising things. On arrival the place was pretty packed (always a good sign) however tables very closely put together also very noisy so conversation was difficult and it felt cramped. The interior was authentically Italian and did look fairly clean. Staff were friendly and attentive but seemed rushed and frantic at times with lots of yelling and running around. Food was fine, I had bruschetta which was great followed by a “spicy” meat pizza which was one of the least spicy and bland pizzas I’ve ever had. Good value for money as the portions are big. I wouldn’t discount it entirely but I won’t be rushing back. This place didn’t live up to my expectations which was a shame!

We have been three-times while we were staying in Lincolnshire... relaxing very nice friendly staff and the atmosphere is really nice and chilled, food was made special for my husband as there are only certain things he can eat.

We enjoyed our meal here. It was a bit of a blast from the past,with both the decor and the approach of the manager coming straight out of the eighties. We liked the eighties and chose to look at the casual sexism as well intentioned but misguided. The food was good but not great, arrived without undue delay, and was reasonably priced. One oddity was an item on the "todays specials" menu which was,we were advised, not available today! We preferred our pizza to our pasta.

Recently celebrated my 50th birthday with family and friends here. Customer service was fantastic, very polite waiters and waitresses. Choice of menu brilliant and we weren't disappointed with our selections of food, good size portions. Would definitely recommend this restaurant

Love this place. At weekend evenings can be noisy and sometimes service slow as they are so busy. Lots of choice on menu and food is always served piping hot. The steaks are perfect and worth every penny and the con aglio sauce is just amazing!

It's not the first time I've visited this place and every time the manager/ owner talk to me it feels like I've done something wrong. Once, he turned us down as it was full but instead of a polite" sorry we are fully booked" we got a "no" and a rude gesture indicating the exit. Won't go again

The staff were attentive and service was quick enough and there was a good atmosphere,plenty of people celebrating birthdays, the house white wine was pleasant ,so that was the good points.The food was a great disappointment,tasteless steak,you need to change your butcher,swimming in sauce.The veal was no better,and the prawn main was just that, prawns albeit dressed in garlic, our friend said it needed perhaps some kind of pasta.I had the antipasti; it was boring,the whitebait passable.It wasn't worth the money and we will not be going back.

Family celebration, my son's 21st birthday. 13 of us. This is our go to place for large family celebrations as the service is brilliant. Food is great. It was an enjoyable evening and the staff were really helpful and checking if there was anything else we required. Definitely recommend it to others.

we came for a meal with a large group to have a good time for a friends birthday, but a certain member of the staff was rude and put a downer on the evening with disorganisation of paying the bill and general rudeness towards us the entire evening! not what you expect from a restaurant! The place wasn’t even that busy so not like he was rushed or anything , he was just dam right nasty, not good. At one point he was even shouting at us because we got a bit confused with the bill prices after he had let us work out how much we owed them without the restaurant even knowing how much the total came to, thought that was their job but clearly not! overall not impressed with the service provided tonight

I went out for what was supposed to be a lovely meal with a larger group of friends for their birthday. Unfortunately a dampener was put on a great night when a specific member of staff was rude to us. Rude comments had been made to us throughout the night but the worst had to be when it came to us paying. This member of staff made us all add up our own bills and then take them across to him. He was then rude to us about the way we had wrote down our amounts and told us that was not how he had told us to do it, whilst getting very cross. This man didn’t even know how much our whole group bill was supposed to be. For a restaurant that wasn’t that busy you would have thought he’d have time to do that. He then was adamant we had paid him wrong and upon explaining several times what we had done he was still rude to us as we left. Then whilst waiting for lifts out side he came out to us to tell us that our bills did not add up. We asked how much by and he didn’t even know how much we supposedly hadn’t paid. I find this disgusting. Have to say was a terrible way to end such an amazing night out with friends.

Went with my friend. I ordered pizza. He took seafood pasta. Unfortunately pasta wasn’t good like he would expected. Pizza had more cheese than anything more. He visitado un par de veces, la comida es siempre bien cocinado y servicio razonablemente rápido. A veces la lucha de camarero - diners comprensión particularmente bebidas pedidos - no sé por qué. Las comidas a un precio razonable y porciones de buen tamaño.

First time I have been here for a long time, won't be going again, The service was appalling. Went to a birthday party, only 8 of us, waited over half an hour for the starter. After that is was an hour and 10 mins before we got the main meal.In that hour plus, the waiters kept coming over asking us if we would like more drinks.Seems they you waiting so you spend more on drinks. Very noisy place, it's like a cattle market, can't hear yourself think. If you want a romantic evening, forget about this place.Won't be going here again.

Majority of my meals here have been excellent, however it is a bit hit and miss. It is very noisy, but they cater well to big groups and 99% of the time the food is delicious and as close to authentic Italian as you are like to get on a budget.

Celebrated our daughter's 18th birthday here on 13th April. Party of 40 people. Could not fault the service or the food. Staff looked after us brilliantly and every meal was thoroughly enjoyed, steaks were spot on!! Superb night - thankyou.

Had a fantastic meal there was 15 of us for my daughters 17 th birthday. Every meal was superb. Exc service too.

5 of us booked an early meal, not been to the restaurant for some while as we do not live close anymore. The garlic bread was as good as it gets, the pasta dishes were so large but just delicious. I had the fillet steak, this was just superb came with salad and fries + a few mushrooms and tomatoes, can't remember having such a lovely steak for ages.The whole meal was brilliant, and the price is also very reasonable, we were fairly early so the service was excellent, but it was a saturday night, definitely can't wait to go again.

On arrival the restaurant looked quite Italian, but at the same time a little dated.Service was quick and friendly, but the food pretty average, really nothing special. They seemed to be trying to make up for the quality by giving massive portions, this probably isn’t the best way forward.The other criticism is the toilets, they smell and need a good clean. All in all this place needs to go some way to improve their perfectly fair 3.5 rating.

Takeaway very hit and miss. Some weeks very good but more and more disappointing. The salad is so last week, I throw better out from my own fridge. Need to also improve their phone system so customers can be heard.

For starters I couldn't have the starter I fancied as it had cheese in it. When I asked for it without cheese the waitress checked with the kitchen but the filling for the stuffed peppers had already been pre made so I couldn't have that and I ended up having boring garlic mushrooms in tomato sauce. I was also a bit stuck when it came to mains as I didn't fancy chips but I didn't fancy all the pasta dishes as most of these came with a creamy sauce. I opted to combine half a spicy chicken with pasta. Once the waitress had asked that this would be ok. When it came I had basically a chicken breast in spicy tomato sauce and the rest of the plate was covered in pasta. The chicken was nice, nice and tender, the sauce blew my mind. Talk about spicy. I wasn't expecting that much spice but I motored through. The pasta however felt to me that it had been cooked once and just left to keep warm. It felt a bit gloopy and sticky like it had been over cooked.The staff were ok, they did make sure that we were well watered during our meal, my only criticism is that they can be a bit abrupt. I don't know if this was the stress of a large table in a busy restaurant but they seemed to be rushed and wanted everything to be answered or ordered there and then. One did also drop and smash my dessert all over the table but he was apologetic and cleaned up the mess and brought out a fresh dessert.The restaurant itself looks tired. It could really do with a good paint and decorate, maybe change the layout a bit it does feel very crammed in in places. They could probably look into a refit to update the restaurant and make it more manageable for themselves. Just a thought.Overall the meal was ok. I won't be however rushing back here as the menu is limited for someone who cant eat dairy as everything is pre made in the kitchen so there is no opportunity to have anything without certain ingredients. I do believe there are better italians in the local area.

A great atmosphere, great food and attentive service. I had sea bass which was beautifully cooked. The Italian Connection is a real gem in Boston. Special thank you to Enza who looked after us. Highly recommended.

Christmas staff evening meal everyone had a great time the food was superb the waitress superb my only reservation the decor is looking a bit shabby and the lighting is to bright needs toning down it would create a better ambiance other than that highly recommended

My partner brought me here as he said it's the best Italian in town. Couldn't say I agree with him. The staff where friendly and welcoming but the place was freezing and dead. The food was bland and unimaginative - maybe I just chose wrong. Wouldn't go back though.

Back to this traditional Italian restaurant after many years, and thankfully it's not changed one bit. Good, honest, authentic, Italian food at its best. Very lively atmosphere, and conveniently located for the town centre and the cinema, only a few steps away. I'd recommend the fillet steak Casanova, with Marsala sauce and pate, but any of the steaks will be impressive, due to their size and the way they're cooked, in true Italian style. Nice, friendly service by all. Will be back soon.

I will be totally honest, this is not one of my places of choice to eat, but my wife and her friends often use it. Well it was a last minute booking For Saturday night and they got is in for 8.30 we arrived got seated, it is a little noisy as it always seems to be, but that's good because it's busy. We have good service and we order our drinks and are told of the specials for the day....well what a surprise the food was really enjoyable and I must say very reasonable.I will return

After being a customer of this restaurant for over 30 years how disappointed I was on Tuesday evening. I am not sure what they tried to serve us but it certainly was not up to there usual fantastic lasagne. Served on a dinner plate and looked disgusting. We just walked out. What is going on with this once very reliable restaurant?

My first visit here ,but a lot of people had recommended so thought we would give it a try. Food isn't bad but it is only average. The place is cramped and noisy and service was slow. Half way through eating our main course the lights went off where we were sat. Guess the staff didn't even notice as it took best part of minutes to get the attention of a member of staff to point it out to them and then a little while more before they found someone that could switch them back on.Certainly won't be rushing back here any time soon.

We have now visited this restaurant 3 times on visits to family in the area and have never been disappointed. The staff, food and atmosphere are always great and it certainly beats other "family friendly" eateries in the area. can't wait for our next trip to Boston.

I really don't understand why people rave about this place. I've been a couple of times recently, once with my boyfriend and once with a large group of friends and both times the service was poor and slow and the food was below average. The restaurant is cramped and uncomfortable. Birth times it took ages for anyone to come and take our drinks order, ages for anyone to take our food order, ages for the food to come out, nobody came and asked if it was ok or if we wanted more drinks etc and once we had finished nobody came to clear our plates or offer a dessert menu. The food was bland and there was very little vegetarian choice. The menu has not changed since I went there years ago and is old fashioned and dated. Won't be rushing back.

Can't fault the food here, lots of choices and it's all good quality. Had 13 in our party having different choices and all left empty plates which is a good sign all the various dishes were of equal good quality. The steak was a good size and cooked perfectly although some of the steaks are quite pricey compared to other restaurants in the area and some of the other dishes are quite pricey too. If you like a nice quiet meal out be warned though that is quite cramped, crowded and noisey particularly at weekends. The crowded and close nature of the tables means its also not the best for those who have difficulty walking or users of wheelwalkers, pushchairs of wheelchairs. The toilets are also situated upstairs so beware of that if you or someone in your group have difficulty walking too. The lights flashing, the waiter delivering you a drink and everyone singing happy birthday is great fun if you have someone who has a birthday in your party. We really enjoyed it and had a great night there but probably not for those that like a quiet relaxing meal out and don't like having to raise your voices quite loudly to be able to hear each other and have a conversation.

We come here very often as a couple set in our ways, anniversaries and many other occasions have been spent here, my partner particularly enjoys the steak as I do the chicken dishes with one of the best lasagne in Boston, would highly recommend. Me and my partner will continue to visit.

We booked the Italian Connection for my Nephew's birthday, although I had been here several times before it was a long time since I had eaten here. We booked a table for the lunch time as my nephew wanted to go out in the afternoon. it was almost empty, unsurprisingly, most busy in the evenings, it was nice to be the only ones in as it does from memory get very busy later, with more noise and bustle. We were quickly seated and given the lunch menu, although nothing was rushed or hurried, our every want easily catered for from very happy and smiling waiters. We ordered quickly and were treated to drinks, before our starters were brought over, garlic bread with tomato, absolutely delicious, it was hot and extremely tasty. The waiters came over and started to talk to my nephew, he is from brazil, and although he speaks very good english, it was a really good of the waiters to speak to him and have a rapour and have a laugh, it made his day to have so much attention. That is what the restaurant is really good at, besides the excellent food, is the attention to detail and the attentive staff. The meals were excellent and more than we could eat comfortably, We were not kept waiting for our food and we just had to have desert, something Italians do well, more food !! Tiramisu and Gelato, this was brought out with a candle and a Happy Birthday recording was played. Suffice to say, his day was complete, the food was excellent, the overall experience was perfect and somewhere that was enjoyed by all .

Go in there all the time for special occasions, and I have never had a bad meal. This time, had 3 courses for once. Starter was fantastic (garlic bread and anti pasta), I had steak for main, brilliant and cooked exactly the way I asked. Then, I had pudding, first time in there, and the chocolate junkyard was great. Staff were brilliant, and always make it enjoyable.

I can only comment on the food as we ordered takeaway. Food was hot when arrived, the texture - very terrible. Garlic bread was really greasy, the mains; pasta with creamy sauce you could tell pasta been reheated, it was not cooked fresh. Pancake with ham and cheese, it was okay apart from the tomato sauce which tasted like the cheapest version of asda smart price and even that tastes better. Finally the pasta rolls with chicken and beef, my partner had only one bit as it tasted horrible. Again cheap tomato sauce, pasta rolls stuck to the bottom of the tray, and could not taste anything else but the pasta sauce. I wouldn't expect greatness from takeaways but for a restaurant that I heard lots good things about it was very poor. Will not order again although not been in the restaurant itself so cannot comment.

Where to start.. The table we booked wasn't ready on arrival and it seems we weren't the only ones as there was lots of people waiting at the door to be seated. We were crammed on to a tiny table which was very uncomfortable and I was later asked to 'move out of the way' by one of the waiter's so that they could get past as they had not left a big enough gap between tables to get in and out of the kitchen. They still continued to push and shove against me even after this. I was made to feel like it was my fault for being in the way and that I had to hurry up with my meal even though they had sat me there. We were waiting for someone to take our drinks order for longer than we would have liked and when we finally got them, my drink was not what I ordered but i drank it anyway. We then ordered food a while after and was waiting about half an hour which wasn't too bad as it was busy but my food order was also wrong. I ate it anyway, fearing I'd have to wait another 30 minutes for them to re-make my food. I had previously been and eaten the pasta which was very bland, no flavour except the tomato sauce. It was a very noisy and uncomfortable atmosphere and although it is not always like this, the customer service on that night was enough make me never return.

Ordered a takeaway from here with friends...a variety of food ordered and all of it nice...chicken was a little overlooked in some dishes but flavours were there...pizza seemed wet in texture with too much sauce and not enough bite...portions were huge and well worth the price paid...free beer given as had to wait double the time they said...not greasy like most takeaways so a good refreshing change...could do with a separate area for takeaway and restaurant as a little awkward waiting for order whilst other people enjoying sit down meal

Great little Italian, consistent, and the manager Angelo is a star. Gets crazy busy at weekends and is a tad noisy but a;ways a good meal.

I love the food here! But I wouldn't choose to go at a weekend, it gets too noisy and you can't have a conversation across your table.

If you want a quiet restaurant to hide away in the corner and whisper sweet nothings to each other - sneak off somewhere else.The Italian Connection is busy and loud. It's loud because it's always full - that should tell you enough - it's good.Because it's busy - you will have to grab the waiters' attention every now and again.The menu is full of Italian classics - which I guarantee will fill you up. The garlic bread starters cannot be beaten - try the garlic and tomato version - it is the best I've ever tried.But leave room for the steak. Treat yourself to the fillet. Whether you have a sauce with it, have it plain or ask them to make your own toppings - it is quite simply a really good piece of meat cooked very well.Ignore all the reviews saying it's too loud - it is a busy restaurant - they often have tables of 10 or more celebrating - join in and enjoy the night!!!!

Rude staff bland food everybody shoe horned in very noisy uncomfortable seating a complete waste of time

We use this Italian quite often both to eat in & take away. The staff are lovely.The food is great.The restaurant has a nice atmosphere but does have the tendancy to get quite loud, especially in the weekend nights (Thurs to Sun) as it's always very busy.
