Istanbul Kebab House in Ceredigion

Asked for a kebab what said £5.50p was givin small kebeb meat in a tray RIPP OFF service from the guy was poor and rude am sure i had ask for my 50p change

What a gorgeous mixed kebab we had for a tenner. Delicious meats, delicious sauces. Really friendly chef.

Couldn’t believe we were unable to sit down for food after 11pm in Aberystwyth. Our only option was Spar or Istanbul Kebab House. So, whilst it was not what we wanted, the guy was super-friendly and the food was very good.

Visited the Istanbul for the first time and was the first time I have visited a kebab shop for about 15 years (when there was a kebab shop where the Greek restaurant is on the corner of Pier Street and the Prom). Things don't change. The clientele make it difficult for the staff, people generally worse for wear so its not difficult to see why people see the staff as grumpy. My service was pretty good. Asked for a kebab off the skewer and that is exactly what I got. Have to say the portion was like a family portion for one, the taste of the food was surprisingly very good and I really enjoyed. Time does take its toll and the cost of a kebab was significantly more but I couldn't fault anything.

Istanbul, formerly one of my favorite takeaway's in Aber. Emphasis on the former. I recently placed an order for two pizzas, one Donar pizza, a Margherita and a portion of chips. The pros:Base was crispy and thing.Donar topping had flavour and freshness. Chips were fresh and crispy straight from the fryer. The cons:The tomato sauce base was horrendous. It was very sharp and completely unseasoned with chunks of tomato. It was extremely overpowering and ruined the pizza's completely. We were all in agreement that it tasted like (and pretty sure it was) a can of chopped tomatoes just dumped on the bread then the toppings. Staff wise I have no complaint, jolly and friendly as always.

The customer service is apauling... I asked for a chicken kebab!!! The pitta was cold.... the chicken was old... it got thrown into a takeaway container and I didn’t even get asked if I wanted sauce!!! VILE

Have been going here since 1999. Owner is always friendly with me. Always makes a point of showing that he is cutting the meat fresh. It's a town centre kebab shop geared for late night beer fueled punters but I'm a quiet kebab at tea time kind of person. Never had anything bad from here o not a bad word to say.

I would give no stars if possible. Ordered through just eat and the order was never confirmed. Then, when phoning the shop itself to enquire, the driver/owner or whoever was very arrogant and argumentative, told me it was my fault and that he was not delivering. Card payment was taken and no notice was given that they would not accept the order. Do not even bother trying to order food from here. When I have ordered in the past, the delivery driver always phones for directions. The town is tiny and its not hard to use a phone or a sat nav. Ridiculous service and sub-par food when it has arrived.

I enjoy a sneaky little late night take away, unfortunately this time I got it very very wrong. I as always had veggie burger, which had so much ketchup on I couldn't taste anything else, and the buns were toasted exactly where burgers had been griddled.I got e little excited when o saw instead of fries there were proper thick chips. However, they were terribly greasy.Onion rings Which were nearly forgotten about were undercooked and in the box was what ever bits and pieces had also been left in the fryer, chips and fries.As the chap was working out the price for this and my buddies burger and chips I took a wild guess that it was 17.50 all together. He quickly said yes and I told him to keep the change from the £20 I handed over. After leaving I was curious and got my phone out to use the calculator. The order in fact came to £15!I've not felt good over the last 48 hours and not been able to eat anything else. I don't think I'll be returning.

I ate here whilst working in town, the diner kebab is pretty average but the portion size is good, fresh salad, however the chilli sauce is the awful "from the bottle" stuff. if only they could be bothered to do some home made sauce it would make it so much better. Service was fast and fine.

Avoid!!! Terrible place. All you get is attitude. Hope that place shuts down. Good manners cost nothing.

I eat there several times every year I come to Aber on holiday. I generally have Lamb or Chicken Shish, occasionally Döner (which is above average quality). Both are excellent. My most recent visit was yesterday afternoon and was not disappointing. I don't remember if I've had fish and chips there.

what do you expect when you order donner meat and chips? what that donner meat? ha. no. i received chicken and chips, the worst chicken like chicken neck meat. i called them up and told them that my order was wrong, i was told that they had run out of donner meat which would have been fine if they called to tell me, what tops it off though is i knew they hadn't run out of donner meat as my friend who also had food (mixed kebab) had donner meat in it. this is the worst takeaway in aberystwyth, maybe even wales. they don't give you what you order, then tell you bare faced lies and you try to eat you chicken which i'm pretty sure had a chicken foot in it. please don't go here. if nowhere else is open then just starve, believe me it tastes better, and you won't have diarrhoea.

Estuve aquí la última noche, absolutamente terrible. El tipo que era horrible, pero lo más importante es básicamente intentamos robar dinero de mí dos veces por medio de me cambio. Primero le dieron un 5 libras por una puede y él me cambiaron 2 libras. Es muy difícil hacer un error en mi opinión. Luego cuando pagamos con un 20 libras por una £1. 80 pieza de pollo me dio el cambio de un £10 nota. En serio? Me dijo que a él le dieron 20 libras y él groseramente dijo "Yo sé" y luego cogimos un £10 nota fuera de la caja y darle a mí como si yo estuviera robando caramelos de un bebé - mate has sido capturados red entregado! Evitar como la peste. Debe ser un lugar cerrado, comercial es necesario pagar una visita, Dios sabe cuántos estudiantes borrachos que roba a regularmente? !

At the end of a night ot it will do but very small portions for the price but the premises are clean and friendly staff

Cheesy chips tasted like they were frozen, they were cold when i got them. the chicken tasted like chalk and to make things worse the owner is always on his phone and barely acknowledges you, never again, Marcos anyday.

It is a kebab shop what do you expect? The manager is always friendly although some of the waiting staff are grumpy when dealing with drunk people throughout the night.

Orderd food online waited a hour after being unable to walk due to crutches and knee splint the food came we ordered 10 cans 5 Dr pepper 5 fanta and they only sent 3 of each good was cold and tasted worse than dry toast id of rather drunk the sea water in aber than eat thier again after ringing them up and complaining he argued with me saying it's me who s wrong and not him i found a dead rat under the counter the one week and maggots in thier kitchen so worst place to go to do won't be eating thir again so unless you want to get food poison please Dont go thier again I wish i could give this place a 0 but sadly I can not

The staff are rude and arrogant, I know they deal with a lot of drunk students, but even if you're sober they are horribly rude and think they can scam you.Food is awful even for a kebab shop,Place is grubby and unclean.

Arrived in Aberystwyth quite late on a Friday night for an early work start on the Saturday and was starving so ventured into the town for a bite to eat before bed. This was the first place we came across unfortunately! After ordering our food the server tried over charging us for our food but was quite humorous when we pointed out his error; however whilst waiting for our food it was quite clear that he would just pluck a figure out of his head with the hope that you were drunk enough not to realise and question it, quite a few didn't!I had pizza and chips. The chips were good but the pizza was probably the worst that I have ever had and at 42 years of age, I've eaten quite a few. I've only eaten 2 pieces so hopefully it wond upset my stomach too much!Would I recommend this place to others: NoWill I return to this place: No

Three of us ate here a while ago but our experience wasn't a pleasant one. The meat in the kebab wasn't fresh which leaves a lot to be desired.Wouldn't go there again!

Very rude owner. I was ordering sausage and chips and he didn't tell me in advance that he doesn't have any sausage left. Very bad experience. This guy probably think it is okay to raise your voice to a customer.

I have been to this kebab house on many occasions. Whether for eat in or takeway, the food is excellent, the people friendly, and the service good.

Personally for me, I just see this as a place to get some chicken or a kebab after a night out. However, it is definitely one of the best takeaway 'chicken' shops around town, ideal if you live on the seafront, and the staff are always friendly and tend to wave to you as you walk past if they recognise you!

I usually go to this take away after working hard watching all those good and not so good horror films at Abertoir.The service is quick and very reliable, the staff are friendly and the food is upto standard, I only hope they don't do a Salt and what I mean by that is disapear otherwise where else will I have to go for my post Abertoir Supper?

If you're after a kebab in Aberystwyth, this is the place to go. Don't expect anything fancy. But it's clean and quick and if you're hungry with a hankering for something a bit naughty, it's just the job.

This place should be shut down. Visited 11/7/15 around 6pm. The staff seemed more interested in their own conversation than serving us.The owner is very rude, after placing our order he just said the amount and held his hand out without looking at us. We sat down whilst we waited and it wasn't until we received the "food" and started to eat that we noticed the food high be rating!! 3!!! ( the sticker is in the bottom corner of the front door that was open) What is this country coming to? The chips were salted to a point of being inedible. The pizza was soggy and covered in cheap produce. The counters/ chillers are dirty and look like they have never had a deep clean since they opened. I will never return there, EVER! Even if I've had a 'skin full' at 3am!! Please do your self a favour and keep walking past.

Just traveled all day, we were starving, we followed the delicious smell, had 3 pizzas and chips sat in, the pizza Base was close to fluffy and crispy. But cone on guys clean up the place to the standard of the pizza, coat of paint, bit of elbow grease, as we left the scores on the doors are 1, but we all had a tasty meal, so it's just my honest review.

My grand daughter had sausage and chips and I had a kebab. Neither of us enjoyed. We haven't returned. This was our one and only visit.

First time my husband has ever left a donner kebab. The meat was gristly and tasted like gravy browning. Hot chilli sauce is definitely not nice!!!!

Most food is bland at best, this occasion stale and their incompetence was such that they managed to charge £3.50 for a £2.50 portion of chips. Protip, employees: have a look at your own pricing board and don't stand at the back of the takeaway shouting idiotic remarks at each other where your customers can hear you. Unprofessional.

The title says all, run far from istanbul, maybe to turkey. By far and above the second worst food joint in Aberystwyth

Despite being given the correct address, the delivery driver went to the wrong house which wouldn't have been a problem, but he then proceed to be extremely rude to me on the phone! The order had been paid for and the house he went to first was empty so It's no like he stood to lose anything. It was totally uncalled for and I don't even want to get started on the sexiest patronizing remark. Will NOT be using again!
