The food was really nice and the service was very efficient. Everybody was so lovely and made us feel welcome . Would definitely visit again

Visited the first time tonight for my birthday, it had been recommended by a few friends. It didn't disappoint, the food was very good as was the service. Very friendly, polite staff. We will definitely go again. Picked up a few menus to give to friends & family , you can either dine in or takeaway!

Visited this restaurant for a birthday meal and the food was delicious and served with a smile. Really fresh, large portion sizes and grilled meats to perfection. We will be back.

I thought the food was very good and the waitress was very professional, however, what spoilt our experience was not long after we were seated, we felt rushed throughout our food. There was 30 seconds between finishing our starters and being brought our mains. Which, to be honest, spoilt the experience of the restaurant. 😫

Needing to break a long drive, we stopped here and had a surprisingly good evening meal. The restaurant itself is simple, but clean and someone has put a great deal of care into the decorations. The waitress was friendly and helpful, and brought us a big jug of iced water. We ordered a selection of starters with warm bread and kebab mains - all of it came quickly, in large portions, and was delicious. There were very few people - despite its modest kerbside appearance, this restaurant deserves to be busier.

Noticed this place a few times after driving past during the day. So I decided to take the family as a surprise. Lovely clean restaurant and surroundings. We decided to have the mixed platter for 4. Wow what an absolute meat fest. Really tasty and and with the cold meze starters a delicious Turkish meal experience. We’ll definitely be going again.

Overpriced. Had a mixed kebab for £19.50 at 3pm. A can of Efes beer for £4. £23.50 for a smallish plate of food and a drink is way overpriced. The lamb was also tough. Definitely overpriced for the area. I don’t think they’ll last long unless they reduce their prices. This was a £12 plate of food at best. Feel bad I can’t give a better review.

Terrible, we were posted a recent menu through our door, we ordered from it menu total £30, actual price £43, apparently due to rising food costs. Despite having brilliant service before this and stunning food, but sorry you have lost a customer. My wife cancelled the order but the money was still taken from her account. Robbing thieves, beware.

Everything we ate was delicious. We ate the most delicious kebab we had in England here.

I was only having takeaway, so can't say much about atmosphere bu the food is great. I've heard plenty negative opinions about the place but just can't agree on that. It is good food, maybe slightly overpriced as wrap for example is very small so I need two and I'm not a big lad. One wrap £8 so but it is a quality 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Order 50 worth of food waited 2hrs for it to come my partner went down to see where it was sed was on its way. He got back before the food. Then it came all wrong kitty a £20 meal. Rang them back and add the cheek to say ear it and get discount next time. After paying £50 bar. And thing is I would of order if them all time as food is nice. What a Shane but never Agen.

First visit to this fantastic restaurant this evening. We had the meal platter for 2, there was more than enough and it was absolutely delicious! The service was spot on also, and the staff were extremely friendly and polite, especially the young girl that served us. Brilliant establishment and great value for money, will definitely visit again.

Enjoyed a very tasty chicken wrap. On my way home I spotted this place and as it had parking outside It seemed convenient. Was met with pleasant staff that smiled and had good Manners. I chose a chicken shish wrap, 5 minutes later it was ready and I went home to eat it (worth noting it does have a restaurant area). The chicken had been bbq'd and was delicious and succulent and it came with chips (not fried). The only quabble I had was that the chips was served in a tray that melted! But this did not change the taste. Summary.... Worth a visit

Food was tasty and well priced but the restaurant was freezing with the door constantly open or incredibly smoky with it shut. My eyes stung and my hair and clothes stank by the time we finished. If they could sort out the ventilation I’d definitely go back.

I am just stunned by the quality of the food, meat, sauces, portions and value! It’s the fourth time I have ordered from Istanbul BBQ and the meat is just the best I have ever eaten! Honestly, if you are looking for some place with really really good food that’s the one. You won’t be disappointed- ever!

Really great food and friendly staff only happy to help with your choices. You can also bring your own beers and wines. Booking recommended but sometimes not essential.

Our greatest friends said how good it was so we made the trip up from Cambridge - wow we wasnt disappointed- the service was fab - the food lovely and fresh and so well cooked by the excellent staff - All the tastes took us straight back to Turkey and got to say the best turkish food ive ever had outside of Turkey.

If before I found this as "Really good food, friendly staff 100% recommended" in the last few months things got changed, I'm assuming the ownership was changed as I have seen different people cooking and running the business, first things first they increase prices with 10 to 30% so significant and tbh I received a downsize portions for ie. the potatoes salad, humus smaller I got a portion of ribs that there is more bones than meat also for ribs and Chicken youghourtlu you get at least 4 pcs of naan bread, I got only 2, definitely we will looking for something else next time. :(

What a lovely night out. The staff at the Istanbul BBQ were great. We were a party of four, had a sharing starter and a main course each. Super delicious and Super value for money and super tasty. You can bring your own booze if you wish or buy some at the restaurant. Thanks everyone for a lovely night out.

I love the food especially chicken yoghurt, I've been eating here for a year and never been disappointed buuuuttt I have a problem with those girls who sell on the bar, they have long hair and is not tied up, sometimes when I see those girls with that hair I just pass to eat in other days, is disgusting to serve people with that long hair! I can't say anything about the food... the food is extremely delicious

Consistently good. The quality of the food and service is always excellent. We use regularly and will continue to do so. I'd recommend the set meal for 2 or 4. You get to try a mixture of the goodies they offer then :)

Customer service is really bad! A lot of attitude and hangs up the phone, I tell her to pass me onto the manager and she don’t just keeps on hanging up. I asked for a mix and she doesn’t know what I’m on about 🤷‍♂️ This is for the woman who is the receptionist otherwise food is good 👌 rude woman!

Only used for on-line delivery so far but the food is delicious and freshly cooked, good size portions with an authentic Turkish flavour. There are Vegetarian options available too When restrictions are lifted would love to eat in.

Ordered elsewhere and was let down after 3 hours of waiting so called here and it was on our doorstep so quickly. Fresh, outstanding quality food with really friendly staff which saved our night from total disaster!! We visited in August, should have reviewed sooner but forgot 😮 my son's birthday was in August, still in lockdown they were super helpful in accomodating us. It is a really small place, perfect for an intimate date. I felt it was a real hidden gem. The food was superb, we all had plenty, with food to take home. This food was beautiful and the food you couldn't help but share i will be returning

First time at the place as we don’t live here. But was absolutely pleased with the food. Very tasty and authentically Turkish flavours. Portions were good too. It was busy but they managed everyone’s order very well. Loved it!

This is a hidden gem, real authentic Turkish bbq at its best, thoroughly enjoyed the night and the staff are polite and attentive, nothing is too much trouble for them, definitely visit again very soon. Fully deserved 5 stars

The best takeaway in Derbyshire

Can't believe how good the food is at Istanbul restaurant/ takeaway, I didn't think that I could get really tasty lamb kofta kebab but also great variety of freshly cooked dishes at a great price. Being Indian, I have tried all local take aways and haven't had food like this except in other cities. I'm hooked!

Not good value for money, £8 for 4 bits of chicken on some boiled rice, food arrived cold and items were missed. Wont use again and suggest people avoid this one.

Good Turkish food at a reasonable price.

We have had takeaways from here before and loved the food. The meat is delicious, marinated, tender and has a freshly barbecued taste. We decided to try out the restaurant for a sit in meal and the service was excellent. The staff were inviting and attentive and the food just as delicious as before. We had complementary bead and dip although our starters didn’t take long at all and the portion sizes were good, you definitely feel full. The prices were very reasonable especially for the service we received.
