Is Shin Sushi Bento Takeaway in North Dorset

Fabulous extensive menu. Lovely friendly staff. Prices very reasonable. Visited here twice when stopping in Sturminster Newton. Food came piping hot and delicious. Would recommend it most highly.

Absolutely terrible food, dry and tasteless, awful customer service, incredibly rude lady on front counter, no manners and got our order completely wrong with no apology just lots of shouting - won’t be returning

This is our favourite Asian takeaway in the area, the food is good consistent quality. And it’s always hot when we get home.

I've been using Is Shin for a few years now, highly recommended, excellent, fabulous, are a few words to describe the food here, never been disappointed, Chicken Teriyaki Bento is my go too, oh and the Pad Thai is pretty damn good too.

We were passing through and tried a few different dishes. The prawns in the king prawn pad Thai were amazing - absolutely huge and lots of them! The service was extremely friendly and also quick. Will be going back for sure!

Can honestly say I think this was one of the best takeaways I've ever had! Food delicious and still hot will certainly be using it in the future

We didn't know any take aways in Sturminster Newton, we took our chances with this take away and we were not disappointed. The food was ready when they said, we took it back to our accomodation and it was still pipping hot. The presentation of the food was second to none with it in containers with the rice and main in one container so that if you needed to eat it as a take away you could do so, this saved us washing up on ur first night on our weekend break. The food was cooked to a very high standard which tasted amazing and there was plenty of it. We even got a serving of prawn crackers free because we spent over £20.00. We will certainly be returning to this restaurant again.

I was so excited to discover there is a japanese takeaway near to us. There is not too many Asian food options around our area because we are living in a small town. We ordered dinner, two main dishes and couples of starters. I ordered chicken Don and my husband ordered pork bento. We waited for half hour to pick up the food. Meanwhile there is no call to inform us one of the main dishes not available, we found out it when my husband picked up the food. The staff told my husband chicken Don is not available. I was so angry when I knew it later. My main dish was not available, why no one call us? Why they couldn't offer me an alternative dish. It is for a dinner and I was so hungry (I was busy and didn't eat lunch) and my main dish is not available! I am so disappointed about it! They don't do sushi takeaway now, which I understand because making sushi take time. However, why they failed to make simple dish chicken Don. And if you can't provide the dish, you need to tell your customers but not telling them when they pick up. Totally waste my husband journey to drive there to pick up the food. I am angry and it is very disappointing!

Great mix of Chinese and Japanese dishes. Beautiful presentation and attention to detail. Still hot after driving back having collected it. Well worth a visit!

So given them 3 stars not because the food is bad the food is GOOD... but on a Friday and a Saturdays they basically lie about the time they say the food will take to cook... the other week I was told 25min got there and it was one hour ! This has happened to me and also people I know on several occasions.... not so good when you are also collecting and Indian or another take away at the same time and you are trying to coordinate the take away collections !! Common guys Just tell the truth if it’s an hour just say so.......no need to lie about the collection time to grab the money in case we go to another takeaway .....will still order the food if you say an hour ! Stick to the Time you say over the phone.in the beginning there is time.... but when we come to collect the takeaway if it’s not ready....then the time is just beginning!!

Great selection of dishes to suit all tastes. I always have a good meal and it is a good way to expand my repertoire of Asian food favourites. Very well priced too - great value.

We have had takeaways from here numerous times and the food is absolutely faultless. The staff are friendly, there is a huge choice for vegetarians and the menu is expansive. The sushi is excellent and the bento boxes are amazing value for money. The katsu curry is a firm favourite with the family. All in all, this is worth a drive to - best sushi for miles!

We have had three takeaways from here since it opened. Absolutely delicious food! Both the cold sushi, and hot meals are so tasty. I do not have a single negative comment to make. Also, the two young men on the front desk are very polite and courteous. Thank you, Sharon.

A slice of Japan in Dorset if you love your Bento, or Sushi then the are lots of fab option. It was busy at 5.20 always a good sign. It’s cash only if you are travelling from outside Sturminster nearest. I had Beef Teriaki Bento. Beef salad rice soup and 2 starter dumplings more than enough. We had tofu starter loverly a chicken noodles

Yeah! A delicious opportunity to get really yummy Asian food in our local town. A great menu, good value and great food
