This lunch spot is unmatched when it comes to excellent Italian cuisine - if you want a true and authentic bite from Bologna then Indegno is the place to eat! The staff were really friendly and knowledgeable on the ingredients too - it's a must try!

Took a friend here after I came back from Bologna, Italy so she could share in the magic of crescentine. She loved it, I loved it, everyone loved it. My only recommendation to them is that in the London location it would be cool to be able to order a standard basket of crescentine with cheese. I understand that this isn't really their "thing" but here in London I don't know where else to go to get crescentine.

Sensational crescentine. Seriously, the place looks like a chain fast food joint but staff are great and ingredients amazing. Squint and you can imagine those glass London skyscrapers are the two towers.

I have been meaning to try Indegno when I saw these cones of fried tortellini and the star of the show fried crescentina sandwiches. Crescentina is traditional fried bread from Bologna. Enter Indegno, a chain from Italy with its first London branch at Brick Lane. There were so many savoury and sweet choices for Cresentina but luckily they have sets which I wasn't aware when ordering. Anyway, I had the Bolla, The 50 Special and the fried tortellini cone with parmesan cream. The Bolla and The 50 Special: The Crescentina fried bread was quite promising because it wasn't oily as anticipated with a firm soft chew texture. Personally, I liked the Bolla as expected because it was mortadella, crushed pistachios and stracciatella cheese. The mortadella is similar to sliced ham which was comforting and complemented nicely with the creamy cheese. The 50 special with porchetta (pork belly) was on the sweet side because of the caramelized onions but the homemade potato croquette was the star, it was silky and sticky. To summarize the Bolla is recommended but overall, the presentation was a bit sloppy for both compared to the ones on social media and it looked like it was sliced randomly especially the 50 special because one side you can see the filling from the hole. For the Bolla, the pistachios were not visible as they were inside. Fried tortellini with parmesan cream: The fried tortellini was a bit disappointing as well as the parmesan cream. I opted for the parmesan cream because it was the same one used in the Indegno crescentina. My issue is that the tortellini tasted like those long life dry ones that you can buy in the supermarket. They were nice and crispy but the filling was a bit dry. Although some places par boil them before frying so that they are not so dry. The parmesan cream didn't quite rescue it because it was thick and heavy which didn't really help. It's like putting thick cream on dry skin when a thinner lotion would be more easier absorbed. I felt that tomato salsa or some lighter but punchy sauce would make it tastier.

Popped up on my Instagram and dragged my Italian friend along. We tried 3 savory ones + a dessert one and… we’ll definitely return!

Lovely spot on Brick Lane with delicious food options. The fried tortellini with the pepper parmesan sauce was amazing - fried to order and perfectly packaged for me to take with me and snack as I made my way around. Reasonably priced, super tasty - I'll be back!

Its not very often you get a meal for under 10 quid in London anymore, let alone 7.50! Also its something unique and the food has that detail that you would expect of home italian food! Despite being fried it is still quite light tasting and the mortedella was of high quality int he Balla

As an Italian abroad it’s difficult to be pleased with Italian food. This was a beautiful surprise. My intention was to have one crescentina and I ended up having 4 + the tortellini cone. London’s best kept secret!

I had been meaning to visit T's fried scoop for several weeks, and finally tried them last Saturday. It was everything I expected! This little kiosk will offer you a fried ice cream scoop with a number of personalisation options. While serving us, the girl behind the counter who I think may have been the creator, was testing out changes to their Christmas recipe. The staff were super polite and chatty and I would love to see them expand their menu with more limited edition flavours. Banana would suit the concept particularly well.
