Imperial Bar in Glasgow City

Classic DJ tunes.. Spot on staff and customers. Laid back trad pub during the day and bit of fun and some pop hits from the DJ at the weekend. One of my go to pubs when I'm in town at the weekend with pals. 👍

A solid bar, good prices and a good place for a pint, nothing too special but it's kept well and worth including in a pub crawl.

Great spirit collection and still sell tartan and export.great staff and a warm welcome.

Popped in on a busy weekend, very friendly pub with good selection of whisky. Owners made me feel welcome. Will certainly return.

Fairly innocuous looking from the outside it’s a no nonsense boozer inside with chatty staff, conversational customers and affordable drinks. Renovation has maybe lost some of its ye old charm over time but it still has a little of its original character. Stained glass, a central ornate bar and some classic pub decor on the walls. Doesn’t show sport or have a kitchen but it does have a few in house events like music and quizzes. It’s local and friendly. Can’t ask for much more than that on a cold wintery afternoon

It's got Patina in spades,just relax in to older times.Snug like little booths for a tryst.Its not fancy but you can go back to the past for a better tomorrow.Howard street next to Richer Sounds.

Great Saturday night, the guy playing the records (Ronnie) not much of a talker but the records kept on playing some oldies some not to old. Just kept everyone happy 😁😁.

I usually pop into the Imperial when I’m in town and its always a nice experience whether on my own for a quiet pint or with friends for a night out. Lovely clean old-style bar (loos could do with a spruce up – but they are clean) with some nice modern décor , chairs etc. Clientele and staff are always friendly. Nice selection of reasonably priced drinks and one of the few pubs in the city that sells Youngers Tartan. A fun disco at the weekend (DJ Ronnie)which may be a tad kitsch, but it is really fun and Ronnie plays some great music. Punters are a mixed age group (not all kids) which adds to the nice atmosphere.

Used to be a regular here then was falsely accused of been drunk by the barman a young boy who disrespected me with these comments poor customer care

The Imperial bar was fine. Friendly bar lady, and some nice regulars who made me feel at home. Working mans pub, but good for a pint. Recommended

Good atmosphere but very strong smell of disinfectant which ruined some of its appeal. Should maybe tone it down a bit.

Loved it here - so friendly and a proper little bar.

We were discriminated by staff due to my brother's disability and refused entry, which is not acceptable. I entered this pub in the evening of the 14th of September 2022 with my brother who has a disability and walks with a limp due to his prosthetic leg. Just as we came in the staff told us to go saying my brother had been drinking too much and the pub was closed, while it was clear it wasn't as there were about 10people inside. We said to him my brother had not actually drunk anything and the way he presented was due to his condition. He dismissed our explanations in a rude manner and told us to go. Nasty behaviour.

Great pub,old school glasgow city bar,Andy is an icon of Glasgow barmen friendly and welcoming,makes you feel like a regular,had a chat with a regular called Pat typical salt of the earth glaswegian, this bar is a gem,its the only bar I will use on my visits to Glasgow .

One of the few real bars left in Glasgow . Worth a visit, Saturday late afternoons lively. Great service and choice of drinks at bar.

Had a great time with my friend in here. Have been in a few times since moving back to Glasgow. Gret value for moneey and staff that will go above and beyond. Andy makes us feel so welcome i cant fault him or the bar in any way. Id highly recommend this bar to locals and tourist for a nice experience.

A wonderful old fashioned Glasgow bar whose staff are so friendly and helpful Andy , Siobhan and the other ladies make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in not to say the rest of the customers with their friendly banter A great selection of single malts too contribute to a memorable day and I head for there as soon as I step off the train from Dundee

Great old style pub in the heart of Glasgow. Friendly staff , great service. Would recommend it to anyone ...especially if your visiting and fancy a quick pint or two.

Refused a Non-Alchoholic Heineken beer because I was apparently "too drunk" even though I stated to the bar man I hadn't had anything to drink. Today, Monday 21st March 4:42pm. As an ex Bar Manager, I don't get the logic of this. Just lost a customer...

Great pub for people my age ie the older generation. Friendly people relaxing atmosphere. Close to all the amenities but well away.

The Imperial is a historic pub, with beautiful decor, stained glass and original wood fittings. The toilets are clean - always a litmus test of a well run place in my opinion. The staff are excellent and friendly. The drinks are good value, especially as this is a city centre bar. WELL worth a visit! Thoroughly recommended.

Cracking pub. One of the few where you can find both McEwan's and Tartan on draft.

The ability to sit and have a conversation without having to shout over televisions is much appreciated.

Great wee bar my husband and i pop in wen we are in town and got to no a lot of the locals.we always order a vodca soda lime and a becks blue cost 4 pound fifty pence.same drink in another bar neer cost over 6pounds
