I really wanted this to be a positive review, however… the food took forever to be ready, had to go ask for it twice, meanwhile everyone in our group received and finished their food. After all this time I had assumed the food would be fresh, but instead it was poured out of a pre-made pot, which took all of 30 seconds to do. The value is terrible, got a tiny bowl of lamb stew for 15 quid. Note the picture has both rice and bread, which is misleading as you only get one. Will not repeat the mistake of ordering from here.

Honestly shocking service today. The two staff working today seemed like they couldn't give a damn about customers, stood around talking and refusing to look up and acknowledge anyone waiting until having to be loudly called for attention. Orders unfulfilled for both myself and various other customers, despite them seemingly not being very busy at all. Most times I looked over whilst waiting for my food that never came, the two staff members working today were doing nothing. When I went up to ask where my food was, I got a very blase and uninterested response with no explanation as to why they hadn't prepared it. Upon asking for a refund, I was told 'I can't do refunds' and then had to wait another 15 minutes whilst they worked out who to contact to arrange it. Behind me were a number of other customers in the same situation. Shocking, get better trained staff!

Ordered the lamb for £16, with chips, for my son. Was served with rice when I came to collect which I didn't order. They said they would fix it after a back and forth, but they then traded it to loaded fries, which is basicLly chips with a small amount of lamb on top worth almost half the price that I paid. At this point we had been waiting a long time and my son was very hungry. Sever claimed they couldn't understand what I was saying at that point to help. Poor showing and felt very ripped off for paying a large amount for basically a portion of chips with a sprinkling of lamb. I feel they knew that I had payed over the odds for what I got and were unwilling to help. Very disappointing. Lamb fries were ok.

I placed an order using the QR Code on my mobile phone (1GBP more than the charge at the counter). I waited for more than ten minutes and asked the clerk to make my order. Then the clerk asked me to pay again, but I had already paid with Apple Pay on my mobile phone. The clerk listened. I didn’t understand my situation. After some theory and showing my payment email, I was able to successfully get my meal. The service fee of 1GBP was absolutely a shame, and the clerk didn’t know anything about mobile orders. Regarding the food, the small plate of spicy mutton tasted good, but the portion was too small. It cost 15.5GBP in total and was not worth my while.

This is a hard one because I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant at Kargo. Only one of the staff spoke English which made it hard to order. The food was extremely underwhelming… I ordered injera lamb which was served in a shallow bowl, which might as well have been a baby’s portion. The bowl was ceramic and had two large chips on the sides. I’m sure that goes against health and safety. The plate of food, without a drink cost almost £15 and the service and food portions were not worth the price at all. Left feeling bamboozled and hungry. The only tasty thing on my plate was the meat which was small chunks of lamb served in a shallow broken bowl…

My recent visit there left me thoroughly impressed! The fries with grilled chicken were an absolute delight – the flavours were perfectly balanced, and every bite was a treat. The attention to detail in the preparation of the food was evident, and it made for a memorable meal. Not only was the food exceptional, but the service was also top-notch. The staff were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious food and excellent service. I'll definitely be returning soon! Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Tried the spot after a shop. Giving it a 3.2 Food was good but portioning and price need looking at. Burgers was ok but Philly type cheesesteak sub was to cheesy and not enough steak in it, and it was tiny. I also don't like that environment. It's in a bar type area and it's too noisy for me and sometimes depending on time to many drunks. So come at the right time to catch it a little less noisy. 2 seating tables just outside venue. A little less noisy. Parking in Lowry centre car park. No drinks. You have to get drinks else where. At the bar. One you can try.

Very disappointed in the food I had been looking forward to trying something different and I have to say the rice was dry the chops had barley any meat on them and what was there was so dry and shrivelled up it was not pleasant and was inedible .also they did not have the bread that is supposed to accompany my meal that cost £19 for a plate of sloppy veg and hard rice. Sadly I would not recommend.

I recently visited House of Habeesha at Kargo MKT in Salford Quays with two friends, where we opted for the full house platter. Despite being advertised at £19.50 at the serving point (see image), we discovered upon scanning the table's QR code that it was actually priced at £45. When I enquired about the price difference, I was informed that the advertised price was for one person, a detail not clarified on the menu at the counter. Feeling somewhat misled, we decided to proceed with the £45 platter, adding fries to our order. After a 30-minute wait, one of my friends received a call from the staff explaining that they had run out of injera bread and offered rice as a substitute. Though not ideal, we agreed to this change due to hunger and the already paid bill. Upon collecting our food, I was surprised to find it served on two separate plates. Assuming there would be three plates, as there were three of us, I was disappointed to discover there were only two. Furthermore, the portion of meat provided was meagre, consisting of only 3-4 small pieces per plate (see image). For the price we paid, I expected better value. The overall quantity and quality of the food did not meet our expectations, especially considering the hype on their Instagram page. In conclusion, I felt let down by the experience and do not plan to return.

Second time eating there for lunch. A really incredible burger which is not what you would expect. You still get the interesting berbere sauce which works really well with the burger and chips. My son had the chicken wrap which he loved. Loads of food loads of taste - ye nice. Also the staff are all friendly and helpful. Got chatting with the manager/owner(?) who I told about me buying the berbere spice mix from amazon and making our own Ethiopan inspired beef shin curry which itself. He reckons they House of Hab are going to start selling their own Berbere and that'll knock the spots of the Amazon mix - and I bet it will - looking forward to buying that when it's out. 100% recommend this place!!

First time having Ethiopian food and we were not disappointed at all! There was so much food, two of us couldn't finish the sharing platter. We ordered that plus the lamb cutlets. Everything was delicious and there were different levels of spice and a good mix of meats and vegetarian dishes. Loved the service of the meal and how it was presented. The ladies were helpful and gave us spot on recommendations on what to order. Will definitely be back again!

First time trying Ethiopian food. Did not disappoint. Lemon-ey undertones to all the dishes. Pleasant. We ordered The Full House, which is a sharing platter. The image on the menu board does not reflect what you get. The portion was wayyy smaller than the image. The small portions of the selection of food was flavoursome, the Injera (wrap) was interesting- a cross between a potato cake and pancake. Also ordered loaded fries with the fried lamb. The lamb was chewwwwyyyy... im sure my jaw has more definition now than it did before i ate the laoded fries 😅 The ethiopian tea has an inoffensive flavour. Its different. It has more of a fast food feel, due to where this place is located within the Lowry. One has to go to the counter, stare up at the menu board which is spread across the top above the counter, and place their order. You get given a buzzet that buzzes when the food is ready to be collected. Also, you have to pay for parking, unless your a shopper shopping in the lowry. Definitely worth a try, just feel ripped off by the misleading pics

On business and found the food court in Salford Quays. What a discovery and House of Habesha smelt so good I decided to try something different. What a great decision as The Full House looked great when I picked it up from the counter. I had mentioned when I ordered that it was my first time there so, despite ordering with rice, they gave me some bread to try as well! Nice touch to listen and enhance the first experience. The food was so flavourful with fantastic balance of spices and texture. Great value too! Enjoyable food, lovely people and value for money! Good luck in the new food court!

Visited the stall at Kargo Central Bay. Excellent food, great spices and variety. A bit hard trying to get the staff to suggest anything and way too expensive. Ordered the combination dish with rice, vegetarian and 2 meat dishes about a tablespoon of each. Pay £20, would have expected at least a bowl of each meat dish.

Hands down the best Ethiopian/Eritrean in city centre. Ordered a mixed vegan platter and all stews were tasty. Ladies serving food were friendly and knowledgeable - asked if their injera is gluten-free and they admitted it's a 50/50 mix of teff and wheat flour. I'm looking forward to try meat dishes.

Really disappointed. Paid £12.50 for what was essentially a poor Philly Cheesesteak. Tiny portion, poorly presented. I was totally seduced by the menu description and social media posts so shame on me. However, at that price both the execution and effort of what was presented was below average at best. Wouldn’t use this vendor again.

I ordered the vegan special and it took 50 mins to get my food when it should've been 30 max, the chickpea curry, and potato curry were good but the rest didn't taste nice at all - very sour and not a fan. I asked my friend to try it incase it was just me but they also agreed it didn't taste good . Would not recommend, which is a shame as I like to try new cuisines. Perhaps the other things on the menu are better.

It is insane to me that someone left a review of the £15 vegan platter saying it wasn't enough food... I ate the whole thing with some difficulty, it was amazing and I could barely move for the rest of the night because I was so full! This is my favourite takeaway in Manchester hands down, and they've moved onto the Foodstuff app which actually pays drivers a living wage.

Ordered House of Habesha Vegan 'Special' — £15.00 via UberEats. Have to admit I was dissapointed by the quantity and quality. Did it taste bad? Not at all, however it did not leave much impression either or fill me up. I'm sure it's a whole different experience when you have this in the restaurant, I have no doubt about that — but based solely on what was delivered to me, I'd not pay the same amount of money. Sorry guys 😕
