We had a delicious take away from this place braving all the recent harsh reviews and then had another one 2 weeks later cause we loved it so much. Food was lovely, staff were very helpful. Would recommend.

Don’t know what has happened to this “Chinese” (if you would even call it that) … you can buy meal deals and Chinese food from Tesco just behind this place, and it would no doubt turn out better quality and taste than this dump of a place …. Hong Tin used to be a lovely favourite when they had the previous management/staff! Now I’m not sure who has taken over, but they need to close ASAP and stop robbing peoples money with their poor attitude and kitchen staff! As other reviews have stated, most of their menu has now been reduced, and what they do serve is poor quality and taste - and at a hefty price 🔥💰🔥 E.g: a special fried rice used to be a favourite for us - NOW - a special fried rice costs more money yet only includes mainly dodgey prawns, and chicken that tastes as if it’s off and has you questioning is it even chicken!?!? Not too sure what is so “special” about this fried rice anymore, and to be quite honest it tastes like pure RUBBISH, aswell as the rest of the menu! Anyway, main point being guys & girls, PLEASE, when hungry, PICK SOMEWHERE ELSE 😇❤️‍🩹

As soon as I walked through the door I was told what I couldn’t have before a ‘hello’ When I said that I hadn’t even seen a menu yet, the manager said ‘you guys expect sushi’ . If the roles had been reversed, that may have sounded racist. I asked for a menu and they pointed at pictures on the wall, with a grunt rather than a sentence. Then, when ordering, their credit card machine was faulty (due to low charge) but they made me feel it was my fault. I left before ordering. Possibly the rudest staff I’ve ever met

We ordered chicken chow main , chicken with Cashew nuts And chicken sweet and sour, The food cost us £22.00 We gave the driver a tip of £3.00 so the total was £25.00 The chicken chow main had no chicken in it ,the chicken cashew was full of onions,and the chicken sweet and sour hardly had any chicken in it and full of vegetables This is the worst Chinese I have ever had

everyone of my family loved the food for last 20 years but after Recent change of owners the menu has been reduced to by 60% and last month i was served awful chic ken in bean sauce. the sauce was extremely diluted and very salty. last night i thought i would try again and ordered a simple chicken chow mien but it turned out incredibly awful with a test of uncooked 5 spices and burnt. not a sprig of spring onions or green chilli.The prices have gone up 30% and definately nvery poor value for money. My family says my chow mein cooked at home is definately 10 times better. Afraid we wont be spending our money there. They also gave me the wrong food firsrt time. Bunch of armatures

This place serves the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten and it was overpriced as well. I ordered special fried rice which I can only describe an oily mess with hardened pieces of chicken inside.

Very disappointed as I had been using this place for years and knew it had new owners but we went in to try the food which was quickly served but quite frankly the most awful tasteless Chinese food I've ever tasted in my life anywhere in the world including China and Hong Kong. The food had no flavour and very few vegetables or sauce with it and much smaller portion served in a smaller box , so much less food for the price . Frankly a truly awful experience which we will not be repeating again and I wish the old owner's were back renew a thing or two about cooking Chinese food.

I used to love this place before it changed ownership but I won't be returning now. Firstly the menu options have been reduced to a fraction of what they used to be. I went there yesterday evening and when I got home, I noticed that the new packaging looks like it doesn't hold as much food as the packaging the previous owners used. The food was ok but not very much sauce so not as tasty. Then I found a copy of the old menu leaflet and compared it with the new one to discover that had I ordered these same three meals with the old owners the entire meal would have cost me £15, however, adding up the same meals with the new owners amounted to £18.90. !!!! Then I double-checked how much change I had been given from a £50 note; I realized that I had been short-changed as I had only 70p in small change in my wallet (had the £30 in notes) when I should have had £1.10 in small change thereby making a shortfall of 40 pence !! I then noticed that I had not been given a receipt with the food either. I won't be going back to this place. Such a shame. I will miss the old Hong Tin.

Won ton soup was delicious. The Singapore fried noodles were also perfect, freshly cooked, tasty and plentiful. I telephoned and collected order soon as I arrived 15 mins later. Payment was by card and not expensive. Will certainly be back soon to try out some of the other dishes. .

This only similarity between the old Hong Ting and the new takeaway is the name. The Hong Kong Cantonese family have sold to new Malaysian owners. The new owners should change the name as it's no longer a Chinese takeaway but a Malaysian halal takeaway. All the pork dishes have been removed from the menu and the beef chow mein I tried was very salty and expensive. A disappointing experience and loss for the local area.

We have been coming to this takeaway for many years and I've never had a bad meal ever always freshly cooked with good fresh ingredients and pleasant customer service , however I gather that the place has changed hands and had a refurbishment. Sadly this is not an improvement and quite frankly the food we had recently very substandard , cold and greasy My sweet and sour chicken was diabolical and did not have the original Hong Kong flavour I used to enjoy which is pretty standard for a Chinese restaurant or takeaway and also there seems to be no more pork on me menu which is also a very common traditional Chinese ingredient The other chicken dish we ordered was also cold and greasy and that flavour and there seems to be a lack of fresh cooked vegetables in both dishes. The customer service seem to be indifferent and I guess this this is when change is not always for the better and I doubt whether we will be back again .

I've been going to Hong Tin for years, and went again last night for a takeaway. It must have changed hands. It seemed more expensive, the portions a bit smaller and - worst of all - pork is off the menu, as the place has gone halal. I have nothing against halal food, in its place, but in China pork is overwhelmingly the main meat! Without pork, this is no longer a Chinese restaurant. Too bad. And after all these years....
