Great chippy, decent portion size..

Got a cheese and onion pie and chips for it to come squished into the chips completely that you wouldn’t even be able to make out that id ordered a pie! This is the second time I’ve experienced this here :(

Really disappointed. Ordered medium chips and bits for £4. Got a very small portion of chips and literally about 10 tiny bits of batter... been to this chippy on a regular basis for many years and have tried to speak to staff about the decline in quality of food for the last couple of times. Just got a non committal "Sorry.. we'll try better next time" I don't feel comfortable writing public reviews as I understand this is someone's lively hood ... and self employed peole need all the support they can get. Genuine mistakes can be made now and again ...but the staff no longer seems to care about the future if the Owners business. I'm sorry.

Absolutely shocking wouldn’t give it a dog,a spoonful of gravy peas like garden peas in water and half order wasn’t packed so I’d give it a minus 5 stars

Brilliant chippy with a wide variety of food from salmon to traditional cod in batter.I always get a delivery when I visit the family and its constantly very high standard

ordered a lightly battered fish and was told it would be about 10 mins so waited outside . there was 1 fish cut in half in the pre heater, not lightly battered and looked like it had been there for ages. this is the fish they gave me. rubbery dry fish and soft gooey batter dry chips. they obviously didnt want to do a fresh fish,for what they charge i expect a fresh meal, whole meal binned.will not use again. PS tried ringing to complain just goes to voicemail.

AbsAbsolutely perfect service. Choice of batter on fish, regular or light. I choose the light batter which is cooked to perfection. Next the home made cheese and onion pie is to die for. The best home made pie I've ever had from a fish and chip shop. The menu selection is extensive and well thought out. Prices more than reasonable. Portion sizes large enough to share the chips from a full meal. I add an extra item, eg a pie

This is a gorgous little chip shop, it is always clean & the food they serve is delishous, a brillient local chippy.

Good food but slow with only one on the fryer and one serving and plaiting up for deliveries at the same time. Tasted well but very, very expensive at over £10 for a pie, rag pudding, portion of chips tub of peas and a tub of gravy. Our local but I will go that little bit further and save a fiver in future.

Really tasty fish and chips. Very generous portion and well wrapped and presented. Plenty of salt and vinegar. Vey clean. Friendly staff. Always busy, but wait is not too lomg

Shopped there for years and even though errors have frequently occurred I think this my last time as missing out a third off the order is a bit much.

The chips and gravy are so fresh and delicious, there is usually a que outside and for good reason, is quite exspensive £3 for chips and gravy.

Had a delivery and it was perfectly timed with the food piping hot.We were all very impressed by the fish and chips plus the Wally Burger was totally unexpected deliciousness!Highly recommended

The reason why I have rated this 3-star is because the food is nice but the staff need to learn about hygiene because they are touching the food with their hands i don't eat sausages for a vegetarian that is an issue because they touching sausages and then touching other food.

Top chippy, best around for miles, good variety on menu and good quality food. I really like that they have a mild curry and a curry with a kick, it shows they want to meet customer needs. One of my favourite things about this chippy is occasionally seeing the staff have little tiffs with eachother :-D

The Fish Bar is the best chippy I've been to in a long time, pure white flakes of fish covered with a golden crusty batter and a good size portion, chips are golden evenly cooked, not greasy and delicious tasting. Staff pleasant and friendly, cooking areas spotless.

Rude staff. Been in twice on different occasions where the staff are huffing and puffing, the evening staff don't want to help the customers when they know they are closing in like an hour.

I go here often as staff are friendly and food is ok. Today I went in and ordered fish and curry sauce. Then realised as she is ringing it up though the till I actually got charged 20p for a tray. Obviously it's not about the 20p but if you're selling hot food surely I shouldn't have to pay for the item to hold the food in. I won't be going back again!!!!!

Food is always nice and "clean" tasting. Fish is cooked to customer's preference and nothing is too much trouble for the always friendly staff.

This is my local chippy and I have been using it for quite a few years now..... In my opinion it's the best in Middleton..... Nice fish made to order & the home made cheese & onion pies are delicious would definitely recommend

Going down hill this chippy got sausage chips peas and gravy on friday yesterday, the peas had roots on them, the gravy was like water, and the chips had a mad taste which as give me bad heartburn, just woke up now with the worst heartburn and all I can taste is tht nasty chippy
