This a great local wine bar, serving up all sorts of interesting wines and beers. A special shout out to their cocktail list too, with the 'whisky biscuit' being a highly recommended drink!

It is alright is the best I can say - right now at least! I have visited here twice and the atmosphere on both occasions felt non-existent. The wine on my first visit tasted awful; despite taking it on the recommendation of the bar. The Prosseco on my second was lovely. However I happen to know that they sell it at the Highbury Vintners up the road and you can get a bottle what you pay for a glass. Very pleased though that they are sourcing locally. At least I assume so! I see that they are now serving food. Project Awana, I think. I have not tried it but I did see the lunch menu and felt uninspired. I have heard though that the food is really good which makes me want to venture beyond the bar and give it a try. My wife and I eat out at least once a week at local places and if this venue got it right, and being just across the road from us, we would be there in a shot. I really want this place to do well because I think the community needs a hub. On Drayton Park that is lacking. We have a Tesco and a decrepit old pub nobody wants to visit. All we need is good drink at a fair price, tasty food and a bit of atmosphere. P.S I used to more frequently visit the previous incarnation at this site because it was packed on a weekend and had live music. Often just a couple musicians playing away. It was great. I'd love to see that again.

I was surprised to find a bar like Highbury Library directly opposite Emirates Stadium. I guess I was expecting a functional boozer for football fans but Highbury Library is clean and cosy and most importantly the beer I ordered (Brooklyn) was well kept. They were playing an eclectic mix of music, but I liked it all, Santana, Credence, house, hip hop, Dylan, Talking Heads. They have a sizeable record collection and if you find one you like you can ask to have it played. They have a ping pong table too. Willl def come back.

Definitely one of the best bar/restaurants in the Highbury/Drayton Park area, right beside the Emirates stadium. This is a bright and colourful little venue, like something you would find in South Florida or the Bahamas. The atmosphere is very laid-back, with good music which is not loud enough to inhibit conversation. The staff are really friendly and serve up a great range of drinks and cocktails. A highlight for me was the Brooklyn Lager on draught. There is a great range of food available including breakfast at the weekend. Adding to the Miami Beach feel is a very nice outside area to the rear. There is a large collection of vinyl on one wall and the staff will play any of the records you choose. We visited late afternoon and it was a great place to relax with a drink after a busy day. Next time we will go in the evening and eat there as well

I’m too hungry to write well. But this is only the second time EVER that I have been to a restaurant that served our table NO FOOD. We arrived before 6pm and were shown to the basement - often not a good sign. We placed our order just after 6 and had to leave to get to the match by 7.20. There was no food by then. The poor waitress kept saying “five minutes” but was clearly getting nowhere. Of course it was down to really terrible management. And aggressive with it. Apparently we should have understood that it was a bit of a lottery whether any food would be served: the manager pointed proudly to two other tables where people had had to leave without getting any food at all. Clearly Gem was trying to profiteer off hungry fans and accepted every booking, even when the management must have known they were completely unable to serve everyone. I suppose it was a risk worth taking for the restaurant - just not for the customers. Gem by name but not by performance or attitude. Will buy some halloumi on the way home…
