Great food fresh cooked to order. Sometimes a bit of a wait at busy times but food is worth the wait and never a disappointment

Complete shambles of an ordering system. Waited outside for 45 minutes with heaps of people!!!!

Disgusting. Cold undecooked chips. White pudding was like a rock. Fish was dry. Totally inedible. Had to be put in the bin. The youngsters on the counter have no customer service skills whatsoever. The lady behind me asked to view her order first. Now I know why! Avoid

Fish suppers tonight not good. Fishy taste (not fresh) and chis full of black bits. Not up to their usual standard. Threw half of it in the bin.

Best fish and chips since moving to inverurie

Ordered standard fish & chips over the phone. Picked up literally 15mins later as agreed. Nice traditional fish & chips but disappointed that we could literally count the handful of chips.

Batter was on the crispy side .

The haddock and chips from this outlet are as good as you will taste anywhere. Definitely a place to visit if you are in Inverurie. However it is a take away only with no sit in facility.

Fine pie suppers, not much more to say.

The food was ok nothing special but the young lady who was serving really needs a new polo shirt I polish my car with cleaner dusters

Def one of the Best in Aberdeenshire. Spice Haggis Fish and Chips superb 👌. In fact it's up there with Huntly Chip Shop which is for me Top Notch .

Scampi fish chips and onion rings were lovely . Service was great too. Will definitely use again .

Been here a number of times. A proper traditional chippy. Had the black pudding nuggets and chips, £7.20 and worth it. Tasty, quick service and friendly staff

I’ve been a customer of this chipper since I was a child when it was the ‘Tasty Bite’ and then ‘Mikes’ followed by the current version of ‘High Street Fish Bar’. It was always really good and despite moving further and further away, I always made the trip over for the legendary ‘egg and cheese’ filling which was great with everything - baked tatties, chips, puddings - the lot! Despite phoning in advance to order, I went all the way to collect to be told they no longer do it and to add insult, tonights meal was awful - red pudding tasted horrible, chips were so cold that the cheese hadn’t melted and my partners jumbo haddock was supper soggy. After 30 years of being a customer of this premises I won’t be back unless the Egg and Cheese filling is reinstated and food improves.

Phoned order at 4.30pm picked up 4.45pm just being made up, mince pie perfect & tasty chips cooked to perfection.ladies enjoyed there fish.will certainly be back thank-you.

If I was to summarize I'd say this place can be either a hit or a miss. Chips quality can range from having a whole bag of crunchy ends, to having a good balance between chunky chips and crunchy ends. Fish is ok, nothing special. Nothing to differentiate it from your average 'chipper' deep fried fish. Can't comment on much else.

Won’t be back!! The waiting time is horrendous even though the shop was empty when I went in and only ordered a chip butty with cheese pineapple and onion, I waited 20 minutes while 5 members of staff stood around chatting, eventually I had to ask why it was taking so long and was told they had to make up the filling!!! There was no apology and almost a smirk from the young assistant! It’s really not good management that one of the most popular fillings was not prepared on a busy Saturday tea time, also this is not the first time this has happened to me when I had to wait 45 minutes for a baked potato which I was told on ordering that they were ready! Quality of the food when I eventually got it was well below standard !

Cannot recommend! Had fish and chips and the fish was tasteless and bland and the batter swimming in grease. Chips were very crispy on the outside and just awful. The place also has no standing food so they are no busy probably for a reason. This cost 9.90 and was a huge waste of money and is exceptionally expensive for what it was! I had fish further away from the sea and it was cheaper I am at a loss on that one!

The best fish and chips I've had in a while. The standard portion of haddock and chips was more than enough for one person. The fish was clearly freshly cooked and so were the chips. It was a spontaneous decision to get a chippy and my husband picked this one because they had freshly caught haddock. I'd say it's not the cheapest; 2 fish suppers cost £19 but worth every penny.

I don't know what they do to the batter on the fish but it could be the crispiest batter I have ever had!

Absolutely 1st class fish suppers. Had family over from Brunei visiting and I have to say our last meal together was the best meal of all ( and I had been cooking). Kids just loved it. Thank you.

Not too bad chippy, I had a steak pie which had too much salt on it, chips were good very big portion size for large unlike other chippers.

First time trying and called in our order, asked for a portion of fritters first, never had any, then asked for portion of gravy, never had that either, never went any further with order and cancelled

Worth searching this shop out when in town. Chips are delicious and decent portions, black pudding supper was amazing. All fish cooked fresh to order, prices are good and food is high quality for a high street chipper.

Have always liked the west high street chippy but tonight's has made me very unhappy chips not fully cooked and king rib tasted awful not sure I will be back any time soon

We phoned our order in at around 5pm this evening. My partner called and ordered a single fish cake, a single standard battered haddock and a spicy chicken burger. I arrived to collect our order and was asked if I wanted salt and vinegar. I saw my chicken burger being put in a box, dry bun burger and nothing else. I asked if there was anything on it and the girl replied no. I asked if it came with salad and mayo and again was told no. I asked if I could have this and the gentleman in blue who appeared to be expediting glared at me and rolled his eyes. I was then told by the girl that in future, if I would like my burger dressed in this way I would have to highlight this when I phone in despite this being the way it appears on the menu? I believe she was repeating something the gentleman had said to her. I then noticed a breaded haddock being boxed up also. I took my order out to the car and double checked with my partner that it should have been battered. I returned to the shop immediately with the fish and spoke to the gentleman from earlier. He took the box from me without apology and demanded my receipt!?I had literally been away for a minute. We have been regulars for years and have always been extremely happy with the good food and service received but tonight was massively disappointing. In defence of the other lad who made the error he was very apologetic . I emailed twice and have had no response. We won't return ....

Great wee chippy with perfect batter....light n fluffy not crispy n puffy like every other one in the UK. Really nice staff..... But get rid of they polystyrene trays horrible things and also an exyra outlay for the shop and bad for the environment. Chip steak was fab, chips were delish and thanks for the hot water for my cuppa.....hope i see an URN for tea n coffee next time I'm in....haha!! Cheers Scott

Tried the rest in Inverurie; none of them come close on food quality nor service. The big name place is nothing.

Stopped here while heading North. Was surprised at how good it was. Batter was very crispy and chips were fresh and fluffy. Great stuff! I'll let them off calling themselves famous ;) The street view is wrong though, pan left and you'll find it! Yellow sign.
