They have a large variety of cakes and pies, pastries and bread, sandwiches and coffees. Everything I ever had was really really tasty. They also deliver. Just got my Christmas cakes delivered. They look and taste fantastic. And service always friendly with a big smile. I wish I lived nearer.

Their bread, cakes and biscuits are really nice as is their coffee. I spend a lot of time in Athens and what they sell is very authentic and matches what you find in Greece and Cyprus. Would recommend! My favourites are the marmelade and chocolate biscuits.

I love passing by there in the morning and grabbing some fresh pastries (spinach and chesse) and bread! Also the best option for buying sweets to bring as a gift. Never disappoints!

I used to buy from time to time some mini cakes and there were ok, so for my husband's birthday I decided to order his birthday cake there. Big mistake. I asked them to make a smaller cake comparing to the ones they sell there because we were 4 people. I also asked to put some strawberries instead of cherries and the lady said it was ok. I paid for the cake 25 £ and to be honest I do not understand why they charged me for a smaller cake that price when they advertised on facebook that the price for any occassion cake is 25.60 £. When I asked to one of the girls why I am paying almost the same amount than a bigger cake she told me that is because of the presentation and because they changed cherries for strawberries. I want you to have a look on the picture and tell me if this is a professional presentation for a cake. How dissapointed I was when I see what they did. This is very unprofessional. My 3 years old niece makes better presentations than this. The disposition of the strawberries (no sense at all, cut it small, big, whatever....) and the chocolate that they use to make the letters is not even the proper one they should use for this. You do not need to understand so much about it but PRESENTATION in pastry is VERY IMPORTANT!!! Also they gave me the small cake in a huge box that I could not even fit on the fridge. If they sell cakes they should provide the proper box to put the cake. I do not do not recommend this place. Overpriced and no idea about how to present cakes.

I am sorry to say but DON'T GO THERE! There's constantly a whole group of men hanging in front of the shop, completely ignoring all covid lockdown rules! And the shop staff/owner doesn't seem to be doing anything about it. What's more important - ££ or lives???

I visited today- it was my first visit and I found the place a bit overwhelming. Firstly it would be great if this bakery could do something about the boys club that frequently hang outside . I’ve lived in the area for about a year and passed many times but the number one thing that puts me off are the groups of men who frequently stand outside blocking the street and blocking the entrance Ieering and making comments. Secondly it would help if there was some kind of menu or labels on the food. There’s so much in the store and it looks great but it’s difficult to know what you’re looking at! I was looking for sweet pastries and felt rushed and crowded. I ended up asking about veggie options for the savoury pastry - I asked a lady behind the counter who was a bit dismissive and rude and not particularly friendly. I ended up leaving with a plain spinach savoury. It tasted a bit odd and floral?! I might try somewhere else a bit friendlier in the area. I’ve also just read a number of reviews stating that they’ve heard racist comments being made at this store. That’s also another reason to take my business elsewhere.

Totally agree with Luci P and 423yes, I am Greek and the male member of staff has always been extremely rude and moody. Unbelievable that he gets away with this all this time even though he clearly drives customers away. The ladies on the contrary have always been friendly with me. Little shop with some nice food, a bit expensive but understandable to a certain degree. I would visit a lot more often if I did not have to put up with his rude face. so most time I prefer a Turkish shop near by :)

Visited New Years Day, will never go to this place again. Awful atmosphere inside, got told off for getting a cookie for my son but no signs that I wasn’t allowed to. Woman snarled at me . Smiled at woman serving us she gave me the dirtiest look could not believe it. So many other places that have friendly staff who know about customer service. Smiling is free :)

I was lucky to be just in time for a Spanakopita fresh out of the oven. It was mind-blowingly good - the pastry, spicing, everything - just heavenly. I am going back to beg for their secret ingredient so I can make a vegan version at home! I also tried the apple pastries which were likewise out of this world. I'm sad to read about the racism experienced by customers and hope this cafe sorts that out urgently: - London is wonderful for being multi-cultural and we are all human beings with feelings, black or white. On racism, while I'm not particularly religious myself, I found this on the internet: "1. We are all made in the image of God (Gen. 1:27). Most Christians know this and believe it, but the implications are more staggering than we might realize. The sign pictured above is not just mean, it is dehumanizing. It tried to rob Irish and blacks of their exalted status as divine image bearers. It tried to make them no different from animals. But of course, as a white man I am no more like God in my being, no more capable of worship, no more made with a divine purpose, no more possessing of worth and deserving of dignity than any other human of any other gender, color, or ethnicity. We are more alike than we are different."

Local to the area and have been coming to this bakery almost daily for a long time. I find the staff to be very rude and usually put up with it because the food is great. If you speak their language they will serve you first, other than that it’s them doing you a favour. Won’t be spending my money there anymore especially with all the other great local shops opening.

I visited the Hellenic Bakery in Ashfield Parade, Southgate however the Trip Advisor page - for this branch takes you straight to the Wood Green branch - so for the purposes of this review it is being posted on the Wood Green Trip Advisor page. I came across this Greek Patisserie by chance and have to say one was not disappointed. It serves very good quality Greek patisseries, which are not only very enjoyable to eat, but they are subtle. These kind of patisseries are usually drenched in heavy syrup, but not these. We took away Baklava, Gatatoboureko and Kataifi – having sampled a piece of each - they were all very enjoyable to eat, notably the Baklava, which is always saturated in syrup. They were served in a very elegant maroon coloured box. Will visit again when in the area.

I saw the staff and manager refuse service to 4 black customers, they called them Kaffirs (an insulting term for a black African, originating from aparteid South Africa.) It was shocking. As a white customer, they had been perfectly cordial to me.

An excellent, delightful bakery/patisserie with a superb selection of cakes: both Greek ones, including all the very sweet baklava, kadaifi etc, but also a huge selection of 'normal' cakes, breads, bisquits and pastries. All reasonably priced in my opinion, and proof of the place's popularity is the perenial buzzing of people of all nationalities sampling the goods abd sitting on the benches outside. The sandwiches and coffees are really great too. Highly recommended of course!

I had the meze. It was very nice and fairly priced. Nice selection of starters, fish in particular was very nice. Calamari was very tender and tasty. Unfortunately, the meat at the end was a little cold, quite dry and tough and unfortunately not very appetising. Also the selection was small (pork and chicken shish, 1 seftialia each, and a baby chicken i think).. No loukanika or pastourma, chops etc. The meat, as is seemingly more common in Cyprus now, is under seasoned. People have become incorrectly fearful of salt and it is ruining good food. As this comes at the end it was quite disappointing as you usually look forward to this the most. On reflection i would do as other locals did and order specific dishes instead of the meze. P.s the taramasalata was also delicious. 😆 The salad was poor. It was drowned in a very bitter olive oil. No acid was brought to the table. Using all of the lemon that was in the meat still did not make it palatable. This was really quite bad. Essentially inedible. The feta used was of not great quality. A shame for any non Greek people having this for a first time as it would leave a bad impression of Greek food. Our server was very friendly.

Mums Bistro is the most perfect place. It provided the best birthday party I have ever had. My children and grandchildren, shared my enjoyment of the fabulous music and live singing by the resident musician, as well as partaking themselves in karaoke and dancing. Endless delicious mediterranean dishes culminated three hours later with the exquisite birthday cake. I would recommend Mums Bistro for all ages, for parties, or simply a delicious meal out. My heartfelt thanks to my son who found the restaurant and my family who participted and conributed to the best birthday party I ever had!
