Heavenly Desserts - Hull in Kingston upon Hull, City of

Have just had breakfast here which was absolutely delicious. We were served by Eddie who was very friendly and attentive as was the chef who greeted us and said goodbye as we left. The coffee was very good and breakfast first class. I’m glad I didn’t look at the other reviews before I went as it would have put me off and I would have missed out! Will be back again for brunch soon!

Staff rude and unprofessional. Crepes soggy , affogato served together so coffee was cold. First visit had been really good, but won’t be going again

I was very disappointed with our visit and I won't be returning. The waitress I heard speaking bad about another customer who accidently walked in and didn't see the sign saying "wait to be seated" . And she said go back there and wait to be seated, there is a sign. But it was said in a very condescending way. Had that been us and never going there before,.I would of walked straight out of the door there and then. Our order was don't incorrectly even though I said what we wanted. When it arrived another item arrived exactly the same. I said we didn't order that. The waitress made it very clear she wasn't happy. She then walked back and forth from our table and kept huffing as she passed. which made it very uncomfortable for us both. And when we payed there was no thank you or anything. I was just shown the machine saying I'd paid and she walked off.

Witnessed 2 members of staff having an argument behind the counter over shifts . Both ladies very unprofessional and even carry the argument on when people was trying to pay for food . Spoiled the whole experience as was mine and my friends first time . Very unpleasant hearing the argument to point where two other ladies left the restaurant . Food okay . Won't be going back anytime soon.

Rude and unprofessional staff . Makes customers very uncomfortable. Dessert ok but customer service do not exist. Staff point at customers and laugh , they ignore customers request and very unprofessional

#Bling decor. No other customers in so unfortunately zero ambience. Vast choice of desserts so in hindsight this should have suggested not all would be fresh. Ordered coffee and the baklava. Out of the four pieces three were extremely stale and only one was fresh. I mentioned this to the waitress who said 'I'll let them know'. The only saving grace was the very small coffee which came in a cute little double glass. Considering the hefty cost for such inferior quality food I definitely will NOT be going again. Sorry !

The staff here was really nice and polite Unfortunately that’s where the good points stop Food was ok .. very overpriced and not good value.. small portions of average food The coffee was the worst I’d had in a long time If you want to charge premium prices you have to give a premium product Won’t be returning

Wouldn’t let us have a glass of tap water with our food and were then told we couldn’t drink our own water as they wanted us to pay extortionate prices for a bottle from them. Food was cold and the same as you can get in Tesco for much cheaper

Went yesterday with some friends to try,our first time and probably the last I'm afraid. Food not too bad but customer service was absolutely terrible! No manners what so ever, rude staff and noone comes to check on you or even worse noone asked about allergy requirements!!! Anyway, inside it's quite nice decorated but overall between me and my friends don't think we will gonna be back any sooner.

From someone who has worked in hospitality for years: Chavvy, loud, rude management. Highly overpriced and small portions. Poor made app with no ‘discount’ in site as claimed on the window. Over £2 for some water. Unpleasant smell inside; server potentially lacking hygiene. Won’t last long in Hull as people will not end up continually paying these prices for dressed up poor food and service.

We visited on 4th November and after we were seated down the server took our drink order and said she would come back in a couple of minutes to take our food order, we were waiting ages for our drinks and then she decided to take someone else's food order (who came in after us) before taking ours. She finally came to us after half an hour to take our food order, baring in mind it wasn't even busy, and we were waiting even longer for our waffles to come and when they did they were cold and tasteless, and my partner found a long hair in his. He asked her to come over and showed her it and she said "what do you want me to do about that" and we just looked at each other like what the hell is this awful attitude! We've never experienced this before and we were so excited to see what this place was like and everything about it was horrible!! Do not waste your money here the staff are disgusting and so was the food. I'm so shocked by the service even people around us could see what this young girl was like and they were also frustrated by the wait. By the reviews it seems like they have a reputation already. They definitely need retraining on manners and service.

Long Wait Times & Unpleasant Staff. We visited at a time I would have said was quiet, only 5 other tables yet it still took over 20 minutes before we had to ask someone to take our order. The waitress was unhelpful and told us to wait 5 minutes, no sorry/please/thanks. She also smelled quite strongly of poor hygiene which is instantly off putting. After a further 10 minutes of no service we left to take our business to another much more welcoming place across the road. Definitely don’t recommend

me and my friend came in at about 7pm and the place was pretty much empty besides from 1 other couple. We asked to sit in one of the booths because there is more space and comfier seats however we was told by a nice waitress we had to sit in one of the middle tables (very cramped) because the booths had to be saved for big groups. About 5 minutes later another couple walked in and was seated in a booth straight away even though we was told we couldn’t (bearing in mind there was still lots of middle tables left) and the same thing happened for the next couple that walked in they also got a booth. After ordering our food through the app it took a very long time for our food to come considering it was not busy at all. Then I asked for a tap water however they then told me they don’t serve tap water and i would have to pay £1.95 for bottled water. The cookie dough was very nice but save your money go to kaspas.

Terrible service from the manager, incredibly rude and unnecessarily aggressively shouted at the waitress in front of us, one of us had to step in to ask her to not speak to her like that.

Visited on Saturday afternoon when the restaurant was fairly quiet. We were shown to a table fairly quickly but then told we needed to place our order via the app, which we inevitably had to download first. The app was awful to use and there were staff members milling around seemingly not doing a lot. There was an air of tension between the staff so we persevered with our order. When our order did arrive, it was wrong, even though the app evidenced we had ordered correctly and items were missing. We flagged this up and it was resolved - slowly. Once all of our order had arrived we then noticed staff members physically taking orders and payment from other customers - so why were we told to use the app? The food was ok, but not worth the money and the waffles tastes slightly burnt. At that point we just wanted to eat and leave. This is the second time we’ve been in now and the tension dominates the vibes of the place. There is also a distinct lack of organisation and staff members pretending to do things. We won’t be back.

Arrived and waited to be seated, only 3 tables occupied in restaurant. Asked if we could sit in one of the 6 empty booth next to the window but was told reserved for 4 people only - very quiet on a Friday night at 6pm so would not expect a rush so were seated at a table for 2. Waited to be served and waitress said would be with us soon instead she chose to clean a table first and so we waited. A couple came in and sat in one of the booths and the waitress did not ask them to move to a table for 2 😖 grr. Still waiting to be served and nothing happened so we left disgruntled. I have seen other complaints about service, I saw three members in the restaurant and we felt annoyed and ignored. Will not return

The idea of a table service dessert restaurant is a brilliant idea. But this place needs the staff in order to do it. Long wait to be seated, long wait to order, then a long wait for the desserts. When they did arrive, the desserts were delicious. Although the waffles due to their size could do with two scoops of gelato, not one. We then had to head to the counter to pay as there was no sign of a staff member. The restaurant is well decorated and looked clean, although due to the large glass windows on a sunny day, you do sit squinting. If they can't do the table service as intended, then do as most dessert places do and order at the counter. Good and interesting choice of menu options, nice for a family treat.

Lovely way to spend a couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon with family. Pam who served us was efficient, friendly and helpful. The desserts were appreciated by us all. The only problem was choosing which to have! We will come back again. The location is spot on and is furnished beautifully. It was a sunny day and it was very warm in the restaurant … we were under a ventilator but it was still very warm. We wouldn’t have been comfortable to stay as long as we did if we had been seated any where else. Hence 4 stars or would have given 5 for food and service.

We visited on a weekday evening and it was great to have a place that's open slightly later. Our server was extremely efficient, polite and friendly, and the menu was broad and varied. Our desserts were delicious and a good size, and the whole place is nicely presented and clean. A great addition to the city centre!

Great selection of desserts and ideal location. Staff very enthusiastic and helpful Menu good something for everyone Product very good and large portions A lit of money has been invested here and it should be supported by us local folk. The only let down was the service time I a quiet Sunday, but will take it as am warning curve, as if it was busy it wid be intolerable. I ordered two coffees just in case I this very thing so at least we could sit chat and drink coffee while waiting. Clean plates are a great recommendation and that is what was left Good look to all Hull is a hard market to make it in. I wish you every success
