Harry Gow Bakery - Elgin in Moray

Stopped here during a recent car journey. Their sausage rolls and meringues are the best I've ever tasted! Highly recommended 😁

Steak and gravy pies are the best I have tasted, staff were very friendly and the staff member that served myself and my hubby also offered to heat up my cold pie for me. Much appreciated

I have been here a few times on my travels. The bakery is small and compact, but the choice is very good. I have my favourite treats I like to have. I don't think it is overpriced because you get what you pay for...quality. I am glad there is a Harry Gow here and will keep calling when I pass through.

£9 for two steak pies and believe me they were nothing special. This is is why no prices are on display because folk would just walk out. Saying that plenty of idiot's queuing up to be ripped off but I won't ever be one of those idiot's again. Fool me once ect.....

It’s been ages I haven’t had them Harry Gow! And all I could say it was delicious.

I love food of all kinds near enough and not fussy at all. But when your charging £4.20 for a steak pie in photo attached is robbery. When the bill was totalled up I was shocked at the cost, that’s why I asked for a receipt to see how much the items were. Quality of the food was average at best and when the amount is that you’d expect top quality food. There’s no prices on the wall stating the cost of items only in the fridge on sandwiches. First time trying defo the first and only time at that should’ve went to greggs up the road!

5 Star for Fenella Allan. -1 Star for no longer having chicken ham and leek pies.

The absolute best when you’re starving and can’t be bothered making anything. The sausage rolls are amazing.

Similar fare to Greggs. Is anything actually baked in shop or does it came part cooked from the main factory ? Typical quality which seems to be the norm for much of Scotland.

Good place to stop and pick up filled and sausage rolls and buns for a picnic along the Moray coast and get some of their excellent bread and rolls at the same time. What would the Highlands be without Harry Gow's!

They do the Best cheese and onion toasty and lovely coffee 🙂

While staying in Elgin I would drop by for a daily fix of ham and salad rolls and maybe the occasional sausage roll. Always fresh and very well made. Ladies who work there are friendly and can knock up a roll in the blink of an eye.

They are absolutely amazing. Always greet you with a smile, their handmade cakes and delights are pure deliciousness and a delight. It's ultimately better than any fast food place in elgin, but you've got to be quick as the workers always stop by first thing in the morning for their treats. Harry Gows is ultimately an all time favourite, everything is fresh and baked to perfection.

I've never been before but was caught out for lunch and HG was there. I've honestly never had a more pleasant experience. It may seem wrong to say, but I just generalised baker's to be all the same. I had lunch, which consisted of a panini, coffee and a muffin. The quality of ingredients, size of the portion, taste and price far exceeded expectations. You'd ask for the same thing in a "high quality" / artisan style Cafe... it would be 4 times the price and nowhere near as nice. I'd say as a road cyclist I've been to a few cafes, enough to feel qualified to give a valid opinion. Really great service and product! Will becoming here again and again. Thank you.

Fantastic service in this baked. The Coronation Chicken sandwich was freshly made, with loads of salad and was huge!! The lemon muffin was also amazing. Throughly recommend Harry Gows Elgin

Have driven past the bakery on several occasions when visiting my parents in Elgin but never visited. Dropped in past this weekend for filled rolls for lunch and cakes for my parents. Everything was excellent and my parents thoroughly enjoyed the cakes.

Always great and great service. Sausage rolls and pies are the best. Also freshly made sandwiches always a treat.

It is little surprise that the Harry Gow bakery group has won best bakery in Scotland award twice, Everything they make and it is their slogan is made from scratch. In other words all fresh and you can test it. From pies, to sandwiches, cakes to fresh bread, salads and the list goes on. You cannot fault this place. A must go and enjoy bakery.

Great lunch, tuna rolls lovely and fresh and pizza panini really tasty according to my daughter.

On our way to Inverness, we stopped here for lunch. Parking in the small car park, we entered the wee bakery and were served quickly. All clean and tidy, with busy, efficient staff. I decided on pie options, which were just fine.

We stopped here briefly on our way to Inverness Airport. The building itself was situated near the turning to the Recycling Centre in Elgin. Ample parking was available with access from two different roads.The items we ordered were decent and hearty, but not faultless. Both of our Coffees were really good but my wife thought her Pastries were a little bit overcooked. I had no issues with my Sausage Roll or Chicken Curry Pie, although the latter could have done with more filling. That aside, a massive thumbs up!The staff were very friendly and accommodating throughout our visit. The prices were reasonable with our overall order being around the £10.00 mark. Good, honest food from a well run local bakery!

The wifey loves their freshly made and tasty panini's. The staff are polite and very helpful. Makes a tasty change frae Mcdonald stuff.

This the name our daughter gave it but it is a GOOD place. It is always busy and offers a great selection of take away options. The cakes are great but the sandwiches look fantastic as they are mostly made from fresh. The staff are always cheery and attentive and make you laugh. This shop serves everyone so keep up the good work and we will return. Great place for a good selection of cakes.

Not much to say, other than a better option than a Greggs. Hot snacks any time of day, very clean, and quick service.

Everything we have bought has been brilliant. The steak pies sauasage roll and sandwich are a few of the best things there.

A must visit when passing through, the breakfast rolls are fab the Stornaway black pudding is the best, really nice coffee and the pies are the best plenty of filling in them and pastry is also very good, plus the girls serving are always very helpful and friendly, they also make fresh sandwiches to order although I didn’t get one they looked very nice as well as one lady was ordering while I was in, and the price is very reasonable can’t wait till the next time I’m passing through

Can’t believe in all the years I’ve never been to harry gows! Plenty on offer from baguettes, sandwiches, panini, toasted, cake, pastries. I opted for a sausage roll and curried lentil soup!Amazing! I’ve never tried curried lentil soup before so this was a first and it was delicious! Full of flavour! As was the sausage roll. And very reasonably priced. Highly recommend a visit here. Will be back tomorrow to try one of their lovely looking cakes.

Recently visited Elgin with family, saw this bakery/takeaways sign made from scratch. Fantastic sandwiches, paninis and pies, make sure and leave room for the cakes the dream rings are so good we had to go back the next day for some more, if you’re in the area make sure and visit great food at reasonable prices

We stopped here for lunch on our way to Inverness Airport.It's just off the main road and the " Harry Gow" sign is clearly seen. A small car park is available.It was packed when we arrived at lunch time, on a Monday afternoon. A local gem. A small takeaway for bakery items, cakes, sandwiches, coffee / teas and drinks. No tables to sit down at, it's order and takeaway. Friendly staff with clean and tidy surroundings.Good food options and fairly cheap too.
