Hare & Kin in Manchester

Put off when I saw the waitress petting two dogs on the terrace. Am sure she went inside straight away and washed her hands...Had to send back my salmon which looked grey in parts..Very unappetizing. Prompt replacement made so fair play ...Some of waiting staff warmer than others. I would not rush back frankly.

Brilliant cafe bar which have an amazing range and quality of breakfast. The breakfast sandwich is absolutely delicious.

Visited here on Valentine’s Day afternoon after wanting to go for a while, was very happy with my visit! The food was absolutely gorgeous and the staff were helpful and friendly especially the younger boy working that day he was extremely helpful and kind❤️

Nice coffee but they always add a service charge to the bill without giving customers an option to decline.

We went at a super busy time and was told to flag down a server once we were ready to order. Food came quick but the portion sizes are much too small… £4.50 for four below average sized halloumi fries, Turkish Eggs is mostly pitta bread. We finished our meals and we’re still hungry :/ not great.

We celebrated my friend’s birthday here, the service and food was amazing, they were extremely patient and kind. They brought the cake out with candles/sparklers and it was lovely!! thank you - birthday girl & friends

Vino para un almuerzo rápido de Nochebuena mientras hacía compras de última hora en el pueblo. Socio y yo decidimos el desayuno completo y no nos decepcionó. Huevos cocidos a la perfección, maravillosas salchichas de cerdo, hermoso tocino, tomate a la parrilla, hachís morenos y frijoles horneados, además de una rebanada de excelente masa madre artesanal tostada. Acercándome -si no en realidad- al mejor inglés completo que recuerdo haber tenido (y he tenido algunos).

I visited this café last Sunday afternoon, and despite the bustling crowd—always a good sign!My main goal was to try their coffee, specifically the charcoal latte, which was a first for me. I decided to add pistachio syrup to my drink, and let me tell you, I absolutely loved it! While the color of the latte wasn't particularly eye-catching, the flavor was simply amazing.The service was also commendable; the staff were friendly and clearly busy, managing the crowd well. I didn't get a chance to sample any food this time, but I definitely plan to return for more charcoal coffee and to explore their food menu. Overall, a delightful experience!

Small portions for the price you pay. The servers want you out as soon as you finish eating and they keep asking if you are still eating.

I visited this coffee shop with a colleague today to get some work done, and we were very pleased. The atmosphere is extremely calm and comfortable, making it an ideal place to work. The quality of the food and drinks is noticeable right away everything was fresh and delicious. The staff were very polite and didn’t disturb us at all, allowing us to work throughout the day. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxed work environment or a quality coffee break!

My favourite breakfast cafe in didsbury village.

The food was good, and the service started off well, but then things took a turn. The waitress kept getting too close to our table, which felt really intrusive. My friend even noticed that she was frequently looking over my shoulder. At one point, she even asked if we were done eating, even though we clearly weren’t—my friend literally had her utensils in hand. It honestly ruined the whole experience. I don’t understand why we were being rushed, especially when the restaurant wasn’t busy. I won’t be going back. Also I had no idea I’d be charged £5 for such an unsatisfactory service.

the pistachio french toast is mindblowing. such a cosy atmosphere always my go to for a nice brunch!

Hola, fuimos a Hare and Kin Café a desayunar entre las 10 y las 11 : 30 hoy. Pedimos dos tostadas de aguacate con huevos escalfados. Normalmente debería venir con dos huevos, pero solo vino con un huevo. Pedimos a los camareros que nos aclararan «por qué tenemos un solo huevo», ella nos dijo «así es como servimos», por lo que fue extraño. ¡Dondequiera que vayas al otro lado del Reino Unido deberías tener dos huevos! Pedimos tres huevos más como extra. Puedo decir que los camareros fueron descuidados al tomar el pedido, ¿por qué los huevos benedict vienen con dos huevos y por qué el precio es el mismo? En fin, mi segunda queja es esta: Tengo intolerancia al gluten y al huevo y pedí los CHAMPIÑONES SALVAJES EN TOSTADAS que estaban en el menú con la opción de pan sin gluten! Llegó mi comida y la tostada de champiñones tenía de todo, crema doble, espinacas, era un plato acuoso, pensé que la salsa de pasta estaba vertida en el pan por un momento! Las setas no eran setas SILVESTRES o incluso setas CASTAÑAS, eran setas blancas cultivadas. Le dije a los camareros que lo cambiaran porque todo lo que quería eran setas silvestres frescas y tostadas. Los camareros se llevaron la comida y regresaron dos minutos después y ella dijo que ‘estos hongos se preparan con anticipación y no los hacemos frescos’ y yo le dije que no puedo comerlos. Los camareros me ofrecieron si quería algo más. Dije tostadas y mermelada. ¡Se llevó las tostadas de hongos! Mi tostada y mermelada sin gluten llegó 30 minutos después y ella dijo «lo siento por la espera» y todos en la mesa habían terminado su comida, ¡esto no es agradable! Estoy trabajando en esta hospitalidad también y esto no ha sido una buena experiencia para nosotros. Vengo allí de vez en cuando a tomar una copa y una comida, puede haber problemas menores, pero esto parece ser algo hecho a propósito. La comida escrita en el menú no es la misma que la comida que llega a la mesa, los camareros no lo tenían claro, yo tenía alergia y ella no estaba del todo preocupada... ¡Nos fuimos muy descontentos! Nuestros huéspedes están muy decepcionados porque les dije que la cafetería era muy agradable, pero ... no era exactamente lo que esperábamos de ustedes!

Another of many visits to the Hare & Kin, the food was delicious and the portions were huge. The staff were all really friendly and accommodating. Inside it is lovely with a cozy interior and a large nice outdoor seating area, if you prefer to eat outside. It’s a great place for if you just want food or a few drinks. Definitely will be returning again, highly recommended for great food and a friendly atmosphere.

Brunch - fabulous. 3 x full English, all different eggs (thanks for the offer), and wild shrooms on toast...gorgeous. Great service; wonderfully pokey Bloody Mary; good location; nice menu....a tad pricey, but lovely...Will definitely return

The fish fillet was tiny, dry and the sides and one piece were so dry they were inedible. The pea puree was spread onto the bread and didn't realise what it was till I was looking for the pea puree! The waitress was unbothered by my comments and the fact that I'd hardly eaten anything. Basically, £15 for some bread, a few fries and a bit of dried fish. Don't recommend.

The food was delicious, and the portions were huge. A plus is that they had halal meat options. The staff were all really lovely and accommodating. The place itself is gorgeous, with a cozy interior and a nice outdoor seating area if you prefer to eat outside. It’s a great spot whether you’re just grabbing a bite or planning to hang out for a while. The only downside? It’s a bit pricey. But given it’s in one of the higher end parts of Manchester, that’s kind of expected. Overall, it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for great food and a nice atmosphere!

Came with my family on sunday there was seven of us in total including three children, we were greeted and sat down quickly. Lydia was so attentive to us, the food was great. Overall we had a great family breakfast. Definitely will be coming again

Nestled in the heart of Didsbury, Hare and Kin offers a delightful dining experience with its rustic decor and welcoming atmosphere. The service was attentive and friendly, making our visit all the more enjoyable. We opted for the chicken parmigiana on focaccia, and it did not disappoint. The focaccia bread was a highlight—amazingly fluffy and perfectly complementing the flavorful chicken parmigiana. It was a delicious and satisfying dish that we would highly recommend. The charcoal latte, while unique and intriguing, needed an extra shot of espresso to bring out the full coffee flavor. Once adjusted, it was a pleasant and iced drink. Overall, Hare and Kin is a charming spot with great service and delicious food. We look forward to returning and trying more of their menu.

Great food only thing I didn’t like was seeing how the staff were being spoken to by a woman who seemed like either the manager or owner, she was harsh and rude when speaking to the young waitresses and I didn’t appreciate seeing it otherwise food is gorgeous and consistently good

Usted ve y siente su calidez y pasión por sus trabajos y compasión por sus clientes. Poseen esa rara habilidad que pueden involucrar con sus clientes mientras trabajan en la habitación y tratan cada pequeño detalle, esto es dedicación, respeto y gran humildad. Nunca verás a un cliente o miembro del personal con una cara larga aquí. Pida algo que no es un problema no mirar “o estamos ocupados en este momento” de alguna manera como todo el buen personal de hospitalidad allí encontrar una manera de acomodarlo y ponerlo a gusto. Por eso valoro este lugar con 5 * ¡No puedo esperar para volver!

the staff were friendly and helpful about allergies. i had eggs benedict with gluten free bread and they made sure to cook the bread on a separate tray instead of using the toaster. the food was really lovely, but slightly on the pricier side.

I recently had takeout from Hare & Kin and had the pleasure of trying their Juicy Chicken Parmigiana wrapped in a delicious focaccia, accompanied by the best fries I have had in a long time! Lydia, was exceptional and went above and beyond to help me find exactly what I was looking for. The dish was flavorful and perfectly cooked, and the service was top-notch. I highly recommend Hare & Kin for a fantastic dining experience.

I usually come for my breakfast and have always had a good experience. Today however I came in with my sister and the waitress called Grace clearly needed customer service training, I’ve never come across someone so miserable, unable to string a sentence together or take the basics of a simple order, which she got wrong!! If you don’t want to be in the customer service industry find a job where you don’t have to be around people. Then when it came to paying the bill she went into the toilet with her mobile phone - leaving me waiting to pay the bill, while a colleague was sat on his mobile sorting out his life- could have taken the payment for my food. Place has gone downhill - poor poor service

We had a family gathering in this wonderful place with delicious food and a five stars service. Our little dog was warmly welcome and Lydia was an unbelievable hostess, helping us to find the right way for our electric scooter. Reduced mobility guests have here a place to come. All the staff was really patient and friendly and the food was really delicious! We only took an ambiente star because it was a bit to loud - but no wonder, it was quite crowded - I guess we were not the only guests finding the food great 😉. Beautiful cozy place with delicious coffee but scarce vegan options. Since changing to Hare + Kin there is now only one vegan item on the menu... £9 granola. I asked for a vegan version of the avocado toast and if i could swap the poached egg and feta for some mushrooms or spinach. The server said that they don't do substitutions. So instead we paid £13.50 for one piece of toast with avocado and a dollop of houmous, I had to buy the substitutions separately so £3.50 for some mushrooms, and £4 for 2 hash browns. The server was pretty unhelpful and despite it costing £21 for an avocado toast, it was tasty. Really disappointing that they've got rid of the vegan breakfast. I'll only be coming back for coffee!

The place is nice, service is good but it seems ridiculous to add service charge onto a coffee. £4 for a coffee is just ridiculous and I’d rather go somewhere else for that

The cafe claims as dog friendly however the owner's dog is not friendly at all. It nearly bit my dog and no apologies at all. The food is ok and staff are nice. However as a dog owner I would not go again.

Had a lovely brunch, service was really great, very friendly. Some lovely veggie & halal options as well. We had the Turkish eggs and it was a lovely twist with the lamb sausage. Coffee was lovely, would definitely recommend a visit! Reasonably priced and they have local suppliers for their food which is fantastic They do add an automatic service charge to the bill which I really hate when restaurants do that. The servers were great and deserve the tip but let me decide! I'm sure you could ask for it to be taken off but I wouldn't ask for that. Very cheeky, the only reason I gave it 4*

As a regular customer I am a big fan of Hare & Kin. Great for a catch up with friends or working solo, there is a great choice of brunch options on the menu and a welcoming atmosphere. Service from Lucia is always impeccable and she makes everyone feel very welcome and well looked-after.

We popped in for a bite to eat during a work trip to the area. There was no issues making some tables work for our larger party. The service was excellent. The menu is all day brunch/lunch items. Very Mediterranean feel to it. Top quality and value for money. There was no issues and would highly recommend to anyone for any occasion.

I love this place! It’s my weekend routine to pop over for brunch or just coffee and cakes😍 The carrot cake is a staple for sure perfectly moist and not too sweet! I recently noticed the Turkish eggs and they were awesome as well! The service is perfect and the girls are really helpful about menu options and table allocations!

What a great place to visit. The food is excellent.homemade fresh and well presented. Try the homemade Victoria sponge. It’s delicious Lucia our waitress was lovely friendly and helpful. Will visit again for sure.

I thought the women in the kitchen was great. As I am a chef myself I see numerous faults in kitchens but this one was clean and very organised as it was an open kitchen. The atmosphere was lovely busy cafe vibes. The chai lattes were delicious and hot. The eggs benidict was perfect. Would definitely come again. Service was slow as at the time 12- 1pm was busy and only one waitresses at this time but we don't fuss over that we just ordered at the bar. The man was attentive and smiled and his dog was very cute. Small business might not be as fast as the big chains but I'd rather wait for quality but that just me.
