Didn’t expect a whole cut of beef for a Chinese meal also didn’t expect cash only in this current day!

Happy garden is a takeaway with no dine in option. Food is always great. Would recommend Sezchuan chicken. Crispy beef. Happy garden special always friendly welcome. This takeaway is very popular. Which speaks for itself.

Shocking service waited an hour for food then when received part of meal forgotten as well as sauce leaked in bag... Was told I'd be credited for next time or wait 10 minutes for rest of food even tho the other half was going cold in the process poor service.. Put off not ordering from here again its not hard to take a little care in the food you serve the public felt like 17 pound for chips noodles and broken pot of sauce shocking.Woyld of got zero stars if it let me ...

Phone order arrived at shop on time and waited a further forty minutes for an average meal . Not the best by a long shot . Next time I want Chinese I'll drive to wandering dragon in daybrook .

Lived in Ruddington for years & this used to be the best Chinese in the area & my first choice, but lately its really been disappointing. Great food has become poor quality & when ordered in advance has been luke warm at best. When the tastiest part of the meal is the free prawn crackers its time to move on.

Went here for a change,so good took order and within 40 minutes we had our meal.Very good will use again.

Not sure what's happening, this used to be my favourite Chinese. Order Egg fried rice greesy Salt and Pepper chicken very small and chicken was dry. Filled with undercooked onions. Pancake roll undercooked and soggy What a shame I was very disappointed. Won't be returning

We’ve been using happy garden for a number of years now. The food is always delicious and quickly prepared (we collect as live locally). Customer service is always friendly. 10/10 and our favourite takeaway to use!

Unfortunately I did not enjoy any of my meal. Guy on counter was friendly, prices are quite low here compared to other Chinese take-aways but I now know why. I ordered Egg Fried Rice, Chips, Curry Sauce, Salt and Pepper Chicken and Spare Ribs in barbecue sauce. Egg fried rice was okay, probably best part of meal. Chips were over cooked and some had black marks on them that tasted off. Curry sauce did not taste of curry sauce, it tasted very burnt and was very over powering. I think it was old and reheated many times. Salt and Pepper Chicken had very dry meat, small portion. Spare Ribs were incredibly tough, like leather. The barbecue sauce was incredibly thin and lacked flavour. The free prawn crackers I received were also very stale. I cannot recommend this take-away.

Spent near enough £35 to get about x12 prawn crackers between 2 bags with my order then the chicken witg Pineapple had loads of onions in dispite nothing noted of this on their menu.

I had a very nice Take away Pork Char Sui Curry, special Chow Mein King Prawn Garlic & Chilli It was all very tasty & hot I can recommend this Chinese take Away

Did not review last time as left it until another try, meat very rubbery and appears fake/processed or flattened to tenderise and omlette dripping in grease ! : ( 2 stars for customer service and chips and prawn crackers possibly given for free as did not order.

Yummy food, reasonably priced, friendly delivery driver. Particularly good was the 1/2 crispy duck and the chicken and mushroom soup. We used for the first time last night and this may become our go to Chinese.

Decent food at affordable prices

Just ordered and had to bin the lot first time at this place chicken in the chicken balls where pink and on 1 it was raw :/ prawn crackers are stale like been left for along time and chips had a very funny tast also like they been left in a pan for along time have taken pics of meat as ate a few before I noticed! So abit worried incase makes me ill . Maby just a one off but wouldt go again incase

Very friendly staff and a nice place to get a bit of Chinese some things are excellent and others can do with a little bit of improvement like the last time we had spare rib the ribs were quite dry unusual for happy Garden usually excellent

The food is normally very nice and I've had no problems until recently. I've been put off by my last two visits where the same gentlemen serving has been completely unprofessional - the first time he was rolling a cigarette over the counter whilst handling customers' money and orders. The second time he felt the need to repeat everything out loud in a childlike tone that his colleague was saying over the phone to a customer. It was cringeworthy and probably something that you could hear on the other end of the phone. Still, the food is great so maybe stick to delivery!!

Living locally we've ordered from Happy Garden Chinese takeaway in Ruddington, Nottingham on a number of previous occasions. You could say that we're regular customers, but not anymore! Tonight we ordered at 6.20pm and were told our food would arrive in 40 minutes. At 7.15pm we were still waiting, so phoned to enquire where it was. We were advised that it had left the takeaway and was on its way. 7.40pm and still not here and after 30 minutes in the car how likely that it would still be hot? Phoned again and while on the phone it finally turned up at 7.50pm. My wife checked the food and it was warm at best. Our order total was just over £20 and I asked what they could do. I was told that we could pay £15 and keep the lukewarm food. Being 30 minutes late and practically cold, I offered £10. The chef declined and despite me explaining that we have been good customers for a number of years would not accept the offer of 50% – given the time delay this should have been free! The food went back and it's now 8pm – no food and no prospect of a delivery from anywhere else. Thank you Happy Garden in Ruddington, you've ruined our night and lost our business forever – I hope it was worth the £5!

Great Chinese restaurant we had all you can eat Menu at £18/person. Basically starters as much as you want followed by soup again as much as you like and main course. The menu consists of the traditional fare that you normally would expect, but here it is high quality. You will enjoy this if you like Chinese food.

Ordered 4 things told 10 mins wait (always dubious) 2 crispy dishes were Chewey Slimey and quite honestly revolting my crispy beef had no flavour and was stuck together in one huge unappetising lump. my carrots in the Cantonese style were back in the middle. Out of all the chineses int he local area this is definitely the worst

Been going for a number of years, & although it went a bit poor a few months ago it has picked up & is back to its high standard again. Always good quality, even if you do pay a little more.

Every time we go there we tell them to take out beansprouts onions and mushrooms as allergies they don't even do that, The beef very fatty and the rice is about the only good thing as prices are way to expansive

Fast service, quotd 30 mins but was less than 20 mins for delivery in Ruddington. Excellent food.Great choice and english menu for my fussy child. Very good value for money.

Ive been using this takeaway since it opened in 1978 and i can honestly say that i have never had a bad experience in all that time , the food is always consistant and the service is always fast and friendly. I use the delivery service occasionally and the food has alesys been delivered prompt and always hot . A lovely restaurant !

I live in clifton and am sick of the poor tasting Chinese food available, too much salt and very greasy, i tried this one as it had another good review, was very impressed with the duck in plum sauce and chow mien and egg fried rice, will def be using this again, and they deliver.

I have lived in Ruddington for twelve years and use this takeaway regularly. I am a runner and a healthy eater and I really rate this one. We usually have prawns and ginger and chicken black bean and spring onions, seaweed and chow mein. It is always light, fresh and doesn't seem to leave you thirsty all night due to excess monosodium glutamate. Excellent and very happy it is just down the road!
