Halifax Hall Hotel in Sheffield

Lovely relaxed place to stay. The reception, bar, and breakfast area are all spotless and exceptional service from all members of the staff team. We loved the 'help yourself area' on each floor - it contained fresh milk in the fridge along with tunnocks chocolate snacks. There were top ups for your tea/coffee making area and plenty of biscuits, too. The room was clean and well maintained. Really comfy bed, a Nespresso type coffee machine with free pods, TV, loads of plug sockets,bathrobes.... The bathroom had a huge shower and twyfords toilet and sink. (Proper stuff). Suburb location, so nice a quiet. Breakfast was great... all the continental stuff you could wish for and a hot option ordered from the menu. I had the full English my wife had eggs Benedict. But lots of other options are available. The only downside is that there is no lift as it's an old building, but the ground floor has plenty of accessible rooms. All in all, it is a fantastic place to stay. If we return to Sheffield, this is where we will stay.

Lovely stay at HH. Amazing shower and very comfy bed, our room was a bit small and furniture a bit too big. Excellent breakfast. Good staff, helpful and friendly. Will stay again.

The suite is lovely, great amount of space compared to standard rooms. Free Parking available and hotel service is fantastic. Fyi £10ph for late checkout until 1pm bit pricey considering price paid for rooms. Overall comfortable beds modern ensuite.

This place is brilliant, the building the staff and the food are incredible. I've stayed twice now, once for a midweek conference and once for a weekend. The rooms are great, staff really attentive and the food I believe is award winning, Thank you

Situated in a quiet suberb of Sheffield yet only a couple of minutes walk to the many outlets of food and drink on the Ecclesall Road the location of this Hotel was perfect for myself for what was my first stay at the hotel. I walked to the city centre that took 30 mins. My room was very clean, tidy and just what I expected from a boutique hotel. A powerful shower in the ensuite was perfect. The toilet pedestal in my room was tall and feet would dangle if you were of a short disposition. The staff were very friendly. Although I didn't use the restaurant or licensed bar both areas looked super. I had a beautifully cooked full English breakfast that was plated and served. My bacon still sizzling upon its arrival. Not buffet style. The bonus of on site parking and breakfast included in the price makes the hotel a place where I would gladly visit again. The offering of Tunnock chocolate coated caramel wafer bars and chocolate tea cakes for no charge was a very nice touch. Hopefully people reading my review may also give this place a visit.

It's a great place for a small hotel

Excellent place. Very quiet but close to amenities. Breakfast was wonderful.

We were quite underwhelmed when we arrived, as the hotel is an old university hall and is situated amongst other current halls, which is not what we were expecting for a luxurious boutique hotel! Due to the rooms being old student rooms, our room was extremely small with a low, not luxurious bed. However there were nice touches such as coffee machine and bath robes, lovely breakfast and all the staff were extremely kind and helpful. I would recommend this place for a stop over for work or if visiting your kids at uni but not for a romantic break!

Great hotel.would of been a five but bathroom/shower room needs redecorating due to damp from shower rotting the skirting board. Breakfast was 1st class.

Stayed for work it's a lovely place with nice rooms and decent food but badly let down by the parking and is quite hard to find if you don't know the area

Rooms are clean and comfortable, starting to show some wear in places like the carpets and some fixtures compared to my last stay but still satisfactory. Location, service and breakfast and the bar are all excellent. Would gladly stay again.

Fantastic value for money! Very friendly and helpful staff and a clean, comfortable room. And the shower was brilliant! Ditto the breakfast. All in all an excellent choice for somewhere to stay in Sheffield.

The room was okay, had everything you needed, but nothing outstanding. The breakfast was good and plentiful. The location was okay for us - close to the botanical gardens, the city center was still within walking distance. Since it was the semester break, we can't judge whether the traffic and noise would otherwise be greater. The staff was consistently friendly.

Attended a wedding plus reception on August 24th. Very impressed with food served, canopies and the wedding meal. Also by an outstanding member of the waiting staff. Asked her name. Alicia. Attentive, engaging and obliging. Very customer focussed. Hard worker. An asset to your excellent team.

Had a lovely stay for 2 nights with my mum excellent staff helpful friendly breakfast hot and cooked to order matty was lovely and the young lady on reception 😀 would recommend only downfall was the website shows the old lovely hotel which is not what you stay in but stlii worth it thanks to all the staff 😊

We were delighted with the service we received at this hotel on our one night weekend day stay. The location is superb and the service from all colleagues was very good. The quality of the cooked breakfasts was outstanding. The rooms are a little small to be fair, otherwise everything was excellent. Recommended, especially for a 1/2 night stay.

Was ok but to have milk in your coffee for the room you had to get it from outside your room. Not ideal for your first cup of the day. Also frightful pressure in the shower.

I stayed at the hotel for the last two nights it was perfect. The staff were all amazing, special shout out to Emma (I'm told she was the duty manager) she was amazing. Helped em when I was in need offered advice as I was a little lost. The service was exemplary I will definitely be back if I visit Sheffield again. Oh and a plus breakfast was delicious. Just what I needed before heading home.

Excellent place to stay if going to Sheffield for an event and with being just on the outskirts it's decent for value for money. Lovely park near by as well. Also a lovely touch with tea/coffee and biscuits selection outside the rooms to help yourself too. Good breakfast and choices to choose from for cereal and fruit etc. only downside was the parking as there isn't much but overall recommend.

Stopped 1 night in a very comfortable room evening meals and breakfast were good served by pleasant and professional staff, here's the bad part all entrances bar one are via steps, there is only one disabled slot for which there are no signage to guide you there. All in all a pleasant experience and the corridor top ups are a great idea

I stayed here while my partner was in one of the Sheffield hospitals. The room was spacious and clean with a coffee / tea making machine. Plenty of plug sockets. The only thing I would recommend would be usb ports in the room. The bathroom was lovely. Great selection for breakfast. All the staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome, especially Coral at breakfast time.

Place is decent and good value for money, but I believe it's the hardest bed we've ever slept on. In retrospect we should have kept our day clothes on and laid on top of the duvet, as that small amount of extra give would have made it more bearable.

An overnight stay. Attentive,polite and helpful staff. Relaxed surroundings. A personally served ideal breakfast. Very happy to recommend. Will certainly stay again when in Sheffield. Very good value. A clean, well appointed room. Very clean and tidy. Very happy to recommend.

Stayed here for two nights from 22-24 March 2024. Very nice hotel. Staff were friendly and efficient. Good location near Endcliffe Park and the student village. The University, Ecclesall Road and Broomhill are all within easy reach.
