Haftsin in Leeds

One of the best and underrated restaurant in Leeds. Massive portions, proper taste. The menu is great, chicken with rice and pomegran fantastic. Service fast, friendly, and professional. Lamb shank is something to try. A main is around £15/17 and it's so big that you struggle to eat everything.

Unbelievably good food with excellent service, 100% worth a visit. Desserts are also wonderful plus it's BYOB which is always a bonus

Very small restaurant so it’s best to book ahead - people literally queue outside for a table. The food is absolutely amazing, go for the mixed platter if you want to try a bit of everything. The deserts were beautiful too. No alcohol allowed but there are soft drinks on the menu. My only criticism is that it lacked a bit of atmosphere and felt a bit more like a busy cafe than a restaurant, can’t put my finger on why but it didn’t feel like a special night out. Well worth trying it out though and the staff were lovely even though it was very busy.

Good food shame about the waiter arrogance, we have been refused a glass of water and then the same waiter went to bar filled a glass of tap water and drank it, bad attitude

I visited the restaurant with my mother and my two sons. We all thought the food was delicious, the service was first class and the restaurant was warm and friendly and very clean. As we left there was a queue out of the door… I can see why! Don’t hesitate to go if you want to experience delicious authentic Persian food. Merci!

This place is everything that Nandos could have been, but the difference between them is like the difference between a Hilton and a B&B. Authentic dishes, chilled but smart environment, lovely staff and excellent food combine to make this an excellent restaurant. The spiced chicken was amazing and the portions exceptionally generous.

Staying in Leeds overnight and thought we would try Haftsin. We were lucky to have the table with a window into the kitchen and overlooking the charcoal grill. From there we could watch chef preparing skewers of meat. The food was absolutely divine and I would willingly suggest this as a great place to eat.

Wow foor here amazing. Yes the place had problems with the chef not turning up and had to wait a while for food but I'm telling u now well worth the wait best meal ever. And it fills you up great value gor money. Deffo go back

This needs re wording Then a rude women tells you thet your food is waiting and they don't deliver and you need to order again by deliroo - stale mate- and was not prepared to give a refund We have no car to go and get the order. I do regularly order foods from Haftsin. It brings me all the nice memories from my years back in Persia and my Mom's home made foods.

Just looking at the pictures here makes me want to go there again! The great thing is that the meat dishes are grilled, so tasty but not greasy. Then the nann and saffron rice (esp the one with the berries) makes a nice change from potatoes. It's a treat to have Persian food. Great price and good portions too.

Visited with family on a quiet night and the service was very slow. Tables that arrived after us were getting served before. Very hard to flag a waiter down and food was mediocre at best!

Mi familia y yo hemos venido aquí durante muchos años y consideramos ser amigos del propietario, ya que venimos tan a menudo. Recomiendo mucho sus kebabs, especialmente kebab barg con medio plato de arroz y medio plato de ensalada. Creo que su ghormeh sabzi también es muy acertado. I've visited with family and friends eating in at the restaurant and have also used the takeaway service from Haftstin on many occasions. The food is delicious, authentic and very reasonably priced. There is always a warm welcome and the service is excellent each time. Would highly recommend!

Came here one night, greeted warmly and sat down to a terrific meal.Had the mixed platter starter with various dips including the best baba ganoush you’ll ever have and lots of hot fresh bread. Then opted for the large mixed kebab (bakhtiari) with perfectly aromatic lamb chops, minced lamb kebab and chicken. I really don’t know what they do with their rice but it is so light and flavoursome. Strictly no alcohol here but who is bothered when the food is this great, the service is efficient and the whole place is a delight?!

The service was absolutely fantastic, the waiting staff were very polite and could not do enough for us. On top of that the food was brilliant, I had lamb and chicken and both were outstanding. Would definitely recommend and return.

Just had the soup for a quick lunch stop. Really delicious chicken and veg. Tastey, thick and home made. Excellent flat bread too, as was service and ambience. Very reasonable prices. Would highly recommend.

El té era demasiado fuerte y amargo; el té similar que se sirve en un restaurante turco cercano es, por el contrario, fácil de beber, suave y aromático. Los precios son buenos. En el lado negativo, el lugar es pequeño y tiene paredes que reflejan el sonido y el nivel de ruido es molesto y dolor de cabeza. Mantener una conversación es un gran esfuerzo. Necesitan algo de tela en las paredes para absorber parte del sonido. Finalmente, usar gas en lugar de carbón para los kebabs es definitivamente un punto negativo.

Haftsin serves authentic persian dishes and i go there atleast once a week with family. The food is amazing and presented with elegence. Defo 5 star for this place.

We went for lunch and had the minced chicken and the minced lamb koobedeh. They are both so tasty and tender. But we both agreed that the chicken was just fantastic. You have to try it. Very filling and generous portion sizes.

I went over for dinner with a group and shared the food. We order lamb chops,kebab, sebzy and Mitch more all were very tasty and enjoyed if I ever to visit Leeds this will be a restaurant that I would love to give it a visit again.. the staff were very welcoming.. I loved the whole thing

great, delicious Persian food, you get a decent variety of kebabs and other Persian foods, both main and starters. Service is usually good and quick unless you visit on a busy evening or lunch time. The atmosphere has improved and looks more appealing.

A regular diner at this establishment which just gets better and better, rather like the interior decor which has improved no end as the restaurant goes from success to success

This Persian restaurant is the best in few Persian restaurant in Leeds. Any time I've been there they served fresh rice and food. I had ghaime stew which was full of lamb meat. Great staff and very friendly chef.

Cant fault on the food, always delicious. Only thing i would say is check the expirey date on the soft drink bottles when its served. Twice iv been given out of date drinks. Other than that the food and service is wonderfull. Will be back soon.

Visitamos Haftsin por primera vez esta semana y no me decepcionó, el menú tenía una gran variedad y una gran selección. Teníamos entrantes y platos principales y eran excelentes, la ensalada en el primer plato era fresca y contenía un aderezo encantador. Los platos principales estaban deliciosos con grandes porciones y carne muy tierna. El personal era agradable y servicial.

The restaurant is tastefully furnished and not pretentious with a busy cosy atmosphere.

I love Persian food and so had to visit. Excellent all round. Best hummus I’ve had with delicious warm bread followed by a great mixed meat grill. Note that there is no alcohol served and it’s cash only.

One of the best restaurants in Leeds and must to go with a great collection of persian food. the owner is on site often which usually is indicative of high quality service, he always check everything to make sure you are happy with your food and services. We’ve been going to Haftsin many times, I tried different dishes and should tell all of them prepared very well. So I suggest this place if you want to invite your friend or someone for the first time.

I went their for my birthday meal. We booked the upstairs of the restaurant. The space was very useful as there was a big group of us. They food was absolutely amazing and very large portions. The staff and service was excellent. I will definitely go again and recommended anyone to pay them a visit.

Hidden gem , I 100% recommend a visit as I can’t fault the quality and flavour of the food! Staff are friendly but some don’t speak very good English so you may need to be clear when speaking. The menu had s large variety of food and the portions are reasonably good.

I have been in Haftsin many times but I can’t even explain how amazing was the food.staff was so friendly and food was so tasty and delicious .Always fresh ingredient and we received a warm welcome from the owner Mr Mansour.I strongly recommend this place to every one to try the Persian food.As far as I know a lot of people travel to Leeds from far distance to try haftsin food .this place is the best place for party and your events.

En primer lugar, permítanme decir que las ensaladas siempre son frescas y abundantes (casi siempre termino llevándolas a casa para el día siguiente), lo único que mejoraría la ensalada personalmente es si se agregaron cebollas rojas.

Mi esposo y yo vivimos en Leeds durante un año antes de mudarnos a East Yorkshire y siempre estuvimos buscando buenos restaurantes halal para cenar. Estábamos tan contentos de encontrar este pequeño restaurante familiar que servía comida pwrsoab auténtica. Ahora se ha convertido en un lugar de cena habitual para cuando estamos de visita a través de Leeed. Los pinchos de kebab son muy suculentos y se sirven con fragante arroz con azafrán. Es consistente cada vez. Muy recomendable para parejas o familia.

Was not expecting much from haftsin as I hadn’t heard much about it. However I can gladly say I was pleasantly surprised. Amazing food! Would highly recommend!

Food is absolutely amazing from Haftsin! Try all the different starters (I recommend the falafel & humous)! We had the haftsin special platter which came with all the meats! Been a few times and always good.

... flavours throughout every course, including the dessert - Iran's own take on baklava. Bring your own vino but make it no less subtle than the delightful food on offer here. My second visit...it won't be my last.

We visited last night after reading good reviews on trip advisor and I must say we were not disappointed! The portions were large and the meat tender and juicy! The noon and mast o mousir was super moreish! The atmosphere was quiet and cosy, make sure you try the moist homemade sponge cake... if you like the taste of baclava you will enjoy it! Very reasonable end cost too. Will certainly visit again... highly recommended!

We went last night, the food is excellent, the staff friendly & helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them. The prices are reasonable & the atmosphere was good. All in all a great meal. We will be going back soon.

This is one of our favourite places to eat in Leeds. The restaurant serves amazing quality food. It may not be the most impressive looking restaurant in Leeds but if one judges by it food quality it will definitely be one of the best. Wonderful service, warm helpful owner. You won’t be disappointed!

We absolutely love the food here! We know we can get exactly the same food in a fancier restaurant but it's not as good as it is here not as reasonably priced and the staff make you feel so welcome.recently where we were there we were a party of 12 and all the food came at the same time and was delicious!

We booked this restaurant on a Friday night as it always appeared to be busy and had mainly good reviews on Tripadvisor. Our shared vegetarian started was varied and interesting. However, our main courses of Gheimen Bademjaam and Khorake-E-Sabji left much to be desired. Firstly, both dishes were very bland and consisted of a mushy mixture of stew. The main courses were served firstly with a large plate of boiled rice, (far too much) upon which one had to add the stew.We queried the lack of taste at the end of the meal and were told the Iranians do not like dishes that are spicy and we could have asked for some spices to be added . This, however we could understand, but for the dishes to have a lack of flavour we could not understand. The service was excellent and it had a busy atmosphere.

We had funeral meal at this restaurant(70 people ) and i have to say 10/10 .fantastic and great .delicious food very professional and friendly staff .the owner is a real gentleman and fantastic service. All i can say is thank you and it will remain in our memory for ever .this is one of the best Persian restaurant you can go and enjoy the food.please visit this restaurant and try delicious persian kebabs.

We came up to stay in Roomzzz for my son's graduation and chanced upon this place. As my mother (who was with us) is Iranian we had to pop in. The food was like mama makes, tasty, aromatic and generously proportioned. We ended up taking a couple of doggy bags away. The waitress did warn us we had ordered too much. Very friendly service and a very reasonable bill at the end. We ordered the Naan e Sabzi to start followed by Joojeh kebab and Kebab Soltani. Loobieh Polo with Mast is yummy too.

Go every few weeks. The food is lovely and the service is good also. Very friendly staff and always go out their way to accommodate.

Visited with the family for a 16th birthday celebration. Received a warm welcome from the staff. Service was excellent. Really enjoyed the mirza ghassemi starter. Naan breads light and crispy. Main course kebabs were juicy and huge portion sizes. Great value for money. Will definitely be back.

I liked the grilled lamb (barg) in this place but they don't accept card and they don't tell you that. If you're not from Leeds like me, you will end up wondering around the unfamiliar place at night and get scared. No parking space is available close to the restaurant and the place is too cramped. Service is a bit slow as they do not have enough staff to serve when busy. I only tried Grilled Dishes and it was good. Over all, if I was hungry while passing Leeds and I had cash on me I will think about pop in again but I will not plan going there with family or friends...

Any time I visit this little gem, never disappoints ..staff really helpful and you can see sometime the owner him self taking care of costumers asking if its all OK ..that's really really nice I think ..my favorite meal its the haftsin special ..you get a full plater of different meats which is to die for how amazing does it test ..plus rice on the side cooked perfectly..I always go there and will continue.one of my favorite place in Leeds .

I visited Haftsin Persian grill house in Leeds on my way from York. Wanted to try the Iranian grills and their famous rice with saffron. Small busy restaurant. Good grill and traditional Persian cuisine.

My fiancée is Iranian and said this is very good quality Persian food although nowhere will ever beat his mums. Our friends also enjoyed it. Very big portions. I always get grilled chicken kebab with rice and it's really juicy and tasty. My fiancée loves the lamb and beef minced kebabs.

My wife an I were staying in Leeds for a couple of days and walked past Haftsin and decided to give it a try for dinner.It's quite a small restaurant but the staff were very friendly and helpful.We had minced lamb and chicken kebabs with BAGHALI POLO which is Persian rice mixed with broad beans & fresh herbs. Everything was delicious.The diners were from all over the world.It was quite reasonably priced (partly because they don't serve alcohol).We'd definitely visit again if in Leeds, and take enough cash as they don't take credit cards.

I visited Haftsin for lunch with my friends and mum. The decor is simple and the furniture is pretty basic. Yet when the waitress came to our table, her smile lit up the whole place. She was patient with us and very attentive. We ordered the lamb stew and the lamb kebabs with rice and nan. We all love to eat l, but have smaller appetites, so as we umm'd and ah'd about getting starters or not, our waitress stood patiently adorning that ubiquitous smile.The meat in the stew fell off the bone and the lamb kebabs were familiar and well cooked. When we meet as friends we take quite a while, eating and chatting, so when we finished our main course, most of the other customers had left. However we didn't feel any pressure by the staff to leave.We ordered the Persian tea which we found too strong so asked our waitress for hot water which she duly brought. Then we wanted our desert. All of us are watching our calories by this point; so I decided to ask for 2 slices of Baklawaa cake. Something I'd not tried ever. Unsure that it was going to be fresh we split the cake in 4 pieces to share. The cake was unctuous and very well baked! Definitely try this again!We hadn't finished our meal completely so decided to take the leftovers home. The waitresses came and happily packed everything to our exacting specifications.The atmosphere is missing in Haftsin but the service and food make up for everything!

We decided to go to Haftsin for a family meal. We booked a table in advance as it was a special occasion. Hoping to try Authentic Persian food, which to our disappointment was non existent. We ignored the fact the place looked cramped and run down - in hope the food would be homely.We ordered various dishes, majority of these we have had many times before at proper Persian restaurants.The food at this place was just terrible.Popular Persian dishes like Mirza Ghasemi were either tasteless or burned.Service was appaling.To add to an already disappointing night - when the time came to pay the bill - we were told they only accept cash! When on the phone we were told they accept card payments, plus there were no signs put up saying cash only.Ended with 2 of us walking down the road to a cash machine in the rain, while the rest of our group had to wait for us to get back before we could all leave.Until a better Persian restaurant opens locally, we will never go to this place, instead we will travel out of town.Best avoided.

Great service, value and all five of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Staff were kind and accommodating - even on a busy Christmas Eve when our party suddenly increased by 2 people. Recommend the mixed starter and the sea bass. Really lovely atmosphere with many Arabic families and local people.We bought a bottle of Oyster Bay from the local mini market 5 doors down and the restaurant supplied the glasses. 5 main courses for less than £50 including soft drinks. we will definitely be back ...thanks very much.

Every time we go to restaurant, every time delicious food, excellent customer service. Today, we had my daughter's birthday , and it was PERFECT!!! they arranged separate table for us, service was great, food is yummy!!! and also what i like about this place that people are very nice. The food is fresh and of high quality, the staff are nice, the restaurant is not large enough but it's perfectly clean. The Haftsin special is my favorite order (for two).

A quiet midweek evening so finding a table in this small restaurant not a problem. I am new to Persian food but the menu was self-explanatory. Portions generous, all dishes tasty but all seemed to lack something. Not sure what that is - a sauce perhaps or some salad - but the chicken and rice dish was just and only that. Nothing whatsoever amiss, and prices very fair but nothing made me think "I must come back" (even though I stay in the hotel a few doors away frequently.

Was told to try this but not really a fan of Persian food. I'm glad I did it was wonderful the way the meal was presented was great it was not as spicy as Indian food but it was very nice I'm glad I tried it I can day I'll be going back in the near future

A short walk from the Ibis Leeds and Roomz but its worth it. We went two consecutive nights and the food was excllent both nights. No Alcohol ! so don't ask for it. But the tea is excellent flavoured with Cardamons and rose petals. We had a mixed herb and feta starter with a seperate dish of Houmos and lovely fresh bread.We followed this with a Ghormeh Sabzi which is Lamb in a Parsley and other chopped herbs sauce, along with their signature dish of Fesenjaan which is Chicken cooked with a Pomegranate and Walnut Sauce. Both came with a lovely Basmati Rice.The service was excellent and they went out of their way to make us feel at home. Would go again without hesitation. Oh and it was just over 30 squids all in!!!

Very nice food neat tidy restraunt like the traditional music playing think it adds to atmosphere but after a while they put like normal English music on which is annoying service food everything else was good though.

Lovely well cooked Persian food. Good value for money and dishes to suit most budgets.This lovely family run business is welcoming to all, including families. It was nice to see many Persian (and other middle eastern) families eating here early on in the evening.My personal fav is the Kebab Bakhtiari. For less than £13 you get 3 different kebabs. It is severed with your choice of two from rice, chips or salad. I had mine with lovely Persian style rice and salad. I found when I had eaten enough the staff where more than happy to put it in a container to take home. (not letting that beautiful rice go to waste).Previously I have had the stews which are amazing and good value for money with several at less than£8.I highly recommend you season your food with Sumac, a tart dark red spice with a hint of lemon common in Persia.

If you like Persian food, Haftsin Restaurant is the right place to have delicious authentic well cooked Persian dishes. Although ground floor is small a second floor is available. I recommend the have Dolme, Bamieh, Rich w Koubideh & don't forget to finish your meal with Saffron Faloodeh . Food comes in large quantities. We were served by lovely Nahid . Free Wifi is available & order /pickup service also. Definitely I'll come again .Enjoy. NK

Made a trip from Sheffield to Leeds on a recommendation from a friend. Food was amazing! Portion sizes were huge and prices were very reasonable! Had the Koubideh kebab and Jojeh kebab along with saffron rice; it was delicious! Will be returning soon with the whole family!!!

I've visited here a few times but this is the first time I have reviewed..The food here is brilliant, I have never had such succulent meat. The stews are super tasty too!! We've even stopped off for take out when we've been in the area and warmed up when we have got home. You're always welcomed with a friendly smile, and attentive service. It's great value for money and we always find an excuse to visit when we're in the Leeds area.
