Took a small sample of the menu home for the other half to try to see if he liked it so we can go back on his birthday for a full sit in menu. All very enjoyable food, the staff couldnt be nicer, the chicken fell off the bone and was flavourful and delicious, rice was fresh and fiery. Thank you for making a dark and dreary evening a bit brighter, much obliged, we will be back soon.

A new venue for this old favourite of ours. The decor was bare and bland unlike its previous incarnation which was cosy and vibrant and full of Middle Eastern artefacts. The food however was delicious , freshly cooked and full of flavour. The waiter couldn’t do enough for us and we enjoyed the meal as always. Highly recommended.

Staff are friendly but the food I got was garbage. I purchased it off to good to go which I fully understand ya get what you pay for but what I got was a joke. Half a tub of rice and some salad with a tub of god only noes what but it smelt like dog food.. at first they told me half a hour so I politely ask for a refund to which they returned with the bag. Would never recommend or enter there myself again.

I ordered a takeaway off their website. The owner told me over the phone it was already being made and so should be 15 mins max before it was ready for collection. It should have been £26 according to the website but she said it was £36.50. I called back and told her I had added it up and it was far less than that and she asked me where did I see the prices. I explained they were on the website. She said that was an old menu and apologised. They had already told me they were cooking the food or I would have cancelled. I said it wasn’t very good that they had added over £10 and she said they had a new menu printed in the restaurant. Which is of no use to me when I ordered from home. She said they had put a status up on fb in January (I have never looked at their page before) but I looked and there wasn’t one post from January! As you can see from the receipt the salad was £4.90! A tiny tub of iceberg lettuce, cucumber and tomato for nearly £5. A thin small wrap for £7.99 (misc relates to halloumi which was put in the wrap).Never ordering food from there again out of principle. False advertising and extortionate prices!

So my OH and I popped in without a booking and the place was quiet. But when we ordered (service took 20 minutes) the food came and there was so much food! We had to take food home there was so much! The hummus was very tasty, my mum makes it fresh, and this tasted very similar. My favourite was the stuffed leaves, beautiful flavour. This place may not be as good as the real thing in the country of origin, but I will be coming back with friends, as I liked the food, service and atmosphere.

I am Lebanese and was taken here in October by English friends wanting to treat me with my type of food and culture....Of course I was polite but in all honesty this place is taqeed... a lazy imitation of real Sham(Lebanese,Palestinian,Syrian style cooking) Grandma would never ever have cooked like this! Only English who don't know our food and culture think its great.... its different but not a real or quality example.... Maqsib and others who say they should do better are right. Sorry but this is obviously true.

I checked out this place online for a special lunch for my Palestinian wife. It makes a huge point of its ethnic regional authenticity which In my experience is unfounded and borders on misrepresentation. Non Palestinians etc would not recognise what we ordered as what it claimed to be... non Palestinians would be given a false idea of its dishes. To begin with the online advertised opening times are incorrect. We went for lunch at 1 (expecting opening at 12 as advertised) and had to wait .... on the door it states opening 4pm. Luckily (?) we were allowed in at about 3.30. The waitress was charming but the food was very disappointing... my wife and daughter are Palestinian and we reasonably expected the Palestinian dishes to be at least similar to the originals...The Mskhan chicken 2 of us wanted for example is a West Bank favourite of ours but was served as a wrap. ! The elaborate website espouses the owner's care taken to lovingly create the dishes. Its simply not trueThe bread was supermarket flatbread style rather than homemade, the stuffed vine-leaves were out of a tin. .... the place is certainly full of "Freedom" for Palestine stuff (excellent) but this adds credibility to food which is far from credible. its time she checked her menu which cynically cuts corners to present the unknowing with fraudulent foodfraudulent food.

I had heard about this restaurant for quite some time and decided to suggest it.Booking was very easy to do over the phone and successfully booked a table for 5 outside for the evening. Unfortunately the weather wasnt on our side and it rained throughout the night but this in no way affected the night at all. Outside is fully sheltered. We ordered Sheesha, Drinks and Food all of which was amazing. The staff were just so wonderful too. Went on a Thursday night. The place was almost empty apart from us which was not a good sign. The service was dire. Everybody's food came at different times, 20-25 mins apart which was awkward to say the least. The soft drink I ordered NEVER came, in spite of me asking a total of three times. They kept insisting it was on its way! One waiter still had the nerve to walk past and say a perfunctory "Everything ok guys?" as if he really cared. In all fairness the food was acceptable but you can't really mess up a piece of grilled meat with loads of salt on it. Like I said, I had good company so I did not feel like making a fuss on the night but I simply cannot recommend on account of the horrible service. The young men and women who work here really don't care.

I visited here with my wife. We were keeping our hopes up since we are Arab and moved to Coventry a few months ago but found it difficult to find much middle Eastern cuisine around the city. We had sujuk (spicy sausage) starter, batata harah and lamb hoummus. The lamb was most definitely boiled and plain thrown onto the hoummus. The hoummus itself was grainy. We were also told we had to buy the bread separately for £1.20 a portion. So if I didn't buy any bread, am I expected to eat the hoummus with my fingers?! Every Arab knows bread is ALWAYS supplied with a hoummus based dish. Absolutely despicable.

what to say, lived in the middle east for a few years, been served crap in that time....so i suppose this place was authentic. Arabic bread, one of my firm favourites, never had it served cold and old! Cash only as card machine was broken.....easy fix...no signs saying this were old.....trip to cashpoint... Obviously the grill wasn't working either as couldn't have anything grilled off the menu......amazing just like being in a war zone. If they concentrated on decent quality food more and less on silly anti israeli signs everywhere perhaps they wouldn't get reviews like this.....avoid like the plague. After eating a bit of the bland mains we left........didn't want to stay for baclava.....couldn't stand the disappointment.

I’m from the Middle East. Not only is the food far from authentic, it also tasted really really bad. The shawarma was boiled chicken with spices thrown at it, the batata harrah was boiled potato with some garlic and pepper. For other Arabs, the chicken smelled like zana5. They did not have any grilled dishes.

This place is fantastic. We were recommended by a friend who said to try the tent in the back courtyard. The tent is fitted out in a bedouin style with low level seating on cushions with a large coal embers fire in the middle. The atmosphere was great but the food was absolutely out of this world. We ordered the Habibi Mezza which was £30 for 2. The starter consisted of Hummus, Spicy Broad Beans, Falafel, flat breads and a salad which had a superb lemon and mint dressing. I ordered an extra bowl of Baba Ganoush which was extremely tasty. The main course consisted of a chicken wrap and slow cooked lamb dish with rice and salad. The place does not sell alcohol but you are free to bring your own for a small corkage charge. Service was casual but efficient. I would thoroughly recommend!

On arrival, the welcome was timid and directionless- did not bode well given it's a restaurant. A party of us 8 adults and 2 teens- we found our way to the rear . a covered but open aired space with a mixed decor of arabesque circa 80's art student. And similarly decrepit. Everything and i mean everything was dull, with sticky detritus of forgotten decades, needing a deep clean with focus and care. Ripped leather cushions spewing filling, mildewed rugs and blankets. heavily ingrained and unloved large etched metal tray tables. not so bad for a war zone make do and mend. deeply neglectfull in Coventry 2017.And similarly neglectful and forgettable food. We ordered various starters. Hummus, devoid of texture via a catering supply by the 10kg tub i assume , as my partner does better with a hand blender . Served by some person or other eventual,. Then bread extra. Extra ! to be added to the order ! how else does hummus get eaten. Must have been paupers day as the basket of cold flat bread was not bountiful nor freely replaced as needed. All starters were indistinct from budget supermarket try on's. Baba gamoush - tahini on tahini ;with a spin of olive oil to garnish. little sign of smoky aubergine here.Mains were a joke. something bland in a 2 small flat earthenware plate to serve 10 ! again please note dear reader we had ordered substantial mezze for our party. Something beany and tomatoey, 2- yes 2 plate-lets of rice, and the crowning inglory, something more bland with chunky potato , and below it in the same plate-let was the couscous. Not separate no, not by choice the customer choosing their ratio to adorn the coucous with rich tagine stew. NO. not even a slight drama of tagine brought to table , lid taken to reveal to the senses ;a delight to feast. NO none of that. Given the waiting time ;you can see how much this restaurant failed to deliver even a third rate early 90's dinner party dream. The presentation on similar earthenware flat bowls, made for eating and sharing difficult on the heavy lipped tables, and then more aggravating by the something or others pretending to be staff, failing at every turn to deliver service to the customer. we had to ask for cutlery, we had to ask for serving spoons, we had to ask for fresh plates after starters, and every time waiting for attention, that had to be interpreted and confirmed by some hierachy. The measly portions of carb heavy foods was luckily balanced by lack of interest invested in taste or texture by the kitchen. I cannot remember any flavour at all. Thus lost all investment by me and others disinterest in eating it. Tinned ratatouille with good toast has more going on .Drinks took an age and a day, some 40 mins just to receive after dinner drinks. my own speciality tea was nothing more than cheap dried whole cardamoms tossed in full cream hot milk. came in a mini metal teapot but NO taste; which was reported to a nonchalant employee . And so the bill, to whom the payer i was a guest. He paid a lot for mean portions, prepared i assume from pre made bulk stock ;and served by somebody or other with little to zero care or knowledge in old dreary surroundings in need of a through refit.

Been here a handful of times now and it's always superb. Food is always top quality, tasty and authentic. We love to sit in the tent and have a shiesha in the relaxed atmosphere. Taking your own booze means its not only cheap but a very relaxing evening. The hours fly by. Yes, the service style can seem slow, but that only adds to the easy-going ethic of this place. Highly recommend.

I had heard from a few people how good this restaurant was. So tonight we gave it a try. There is seating both inside and outside, decor is authentic and very atmospheric. This place is by no means, style over substance, the food was delicious, we had the mezze for two. The food is simple, and that is what makes it so good, fresh food cooked well, full of flavour. The staff were very welcoming and attentive, they couldn't do enough for us. Lebanese, Arabic and Moroccan cuisine is how it's described on their Facebook page, but it has a familiar flavour, if you have been to Greece or Turkey too. Lamb and chicken perfectly spiced, a milder alternative if curry is not your thing. I highly recommend this place for a quiet dinner for two, or a night out in a group.

Hadn't been here for a while and we had a midweek celebration. As it is a bring your own drink we had bought a bottle of fizz from the Sainsbury local across the road.It was hot inside so we say in the tent out the back. It was quite busy for a weeknight and the mezze for 2 with a few extras was excellent. Great price and nice relaxed atmosphere.

I've been to Habibi restaurant in Coventry several times now and it never disappoints. The food is really well priced and delicious. We always op for the meal for two which includes cold and hot mezze and a main meal. Everything is always cooked to perfection. When the place is busy there is a lovely atmosphere and we always opt to sit outside in the summertime. It is also bring your own alcohol with only a small corkage fee which is really handy. The waiters are very welcoming and friendly. Can't wait to go again!

Arrived after booking, we were advised to as it gets pretty busy! Seated by friendly staff, you take your own drinks so once your seated it's just a case of waiting for a waiter to take your order. Really authentic set up. Cushions on the floor, carpets on the walls and you can book a Hookah pipe if you like. The food is fab, really nicely cooked, no frills, friendly staff. If you want fine dining it's maybe not for you but it's a lovely little place, we ate outside and it really didn't feel like we were sat in the middle of Cov! Will definitely return.

Habibi is a fab place to eat. I'm not a vegetarian, but trying to eat less meat and was out with veggie friends. Amazing options like this makes that easy. Tasty mezza, lovely atmosphere. The menu could be updated a little to make it easier to choose mezza options and to make it clear what you are ordering. Would be better to have a list to choose a number of items. Some mezza portions are a little mean, one falafel and one piece of hallumi each. Can't fault the flavour and freshness of the food, would recommend the tabouleh.

I've been to Habibi on numerous occasions and it has never failed. The atmosphere is always friendly. The food is plentiful, delicious and well flavoured. The food does take a while to get there but it's always perfect. I would say the service leaves something to be desired, if you decide to sit upstairs, consider yourself warned, although the seating is lovely, often the waiters take a while to come and take your order, many times I have had to go downstairs and place my order as they seem to have forgotten us! But I wont let this deter me.

We stumbled upon this place after visiting Fargo Village. The restaurant is quite small and intimate, creating a very nice atmosphere. We ordered the sharing platter, which they made the effort to separate into two as my partner is vegetarian. The food itself was great, and so was the service. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Coventry that wants a cuisine that's a bit less common to the area.

We had lamb schwarma, an aubergine thing with minced lamb and some other small dishes. They were all excellent, full of flavours and very hearty. We both had a homemade smoothie which were great. The restaurant is very cosy and we had a look out the back which looks great, very in keeping with the vibe but I would only really use it on a hot summer evening. No card machine so cash payments. Overall this place is very much recommended.

A group of friends thought we'd try some Lebanese food. We weren't disappointed! We choose the hot mezza (a selection of different food to try). We couldn't believe how much food we were given. What lovely flavours! Thanks for a great night out.

Astonished that they STILL say their card machine is out of order, they've been saying that for years, and I do mean years. What kind of legit restaurant business takes cash only? We hoped to eat in the Bedouin tent but it was all booked, fair enough. Alcohol isn't served so we were allowed to bring out own in but were then charged corkage. Just felt it was all a but expensive for what it was. The street is dirty and had people hanging round our car. Waited quite a long time too, the staff dont hurry. I'd suggest double checking if you book a table.

It's years since I have visited Habibi, but the food is just as nice as always. The venue is intimate and the welcome is warm.Easy to park on the street outside ( but busy as it's a university area). We brought our own drinks and glasses were provided.Great for a different experience. Would be fun for a larger group. There is outside seating too for fine weather.

Visited on New Year's Eve 2023. Table booked for 6.30pm .Staff met on arrival and seated us straight away. They were very attentive. First visit so didn't know what to expect. The service and food was excellent. The cocktails also went down a treat would definitely recommend to friends family and have even suggested a staff night out in January. We got chance to complement the Chef on the food we ordered, a charming man.. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Had a very enjoyable evening. Happy New Year to all the staff. !!
