Guntur Mirchi in Newry and Mourne

I have been using GM for past few months for Friday takeaway. Food is always delicious, piping hot and on time. My favourite is number 31, Punjabi Garam Massala but all dishes have been great. If you call in you will see that the place is spotless and ingredients all fresh. Love it.

Ordered takeaway and prepaid £17.00 food never arrived,I rang the driver and he said he took it back to shop because no one answered the door( I sat on an armchair next to the window beside the front door for over an hour) so he didn’t call to my door, I then rang the restaurant and explained to them what had happened and they said the food was left at my front door 🤔 pretty confusing, I said send the same order or refund my money, the staff were so ignorant and told me in no certain words where to go and what I could do, I tried to ring the delivery driver and the restaurant but both had blocked my number, so in effect they have stole my £17.00 I may add this is a New business in this town and word of mouth is the best form of marketing exposure to forward your business, I will tell everyone I see to steer clear of this place!!! And all my friends and family will spread this too!! A bit of common decency and business acumen would of went a long way in this situation!!!! STAY CLEAR OF THESE RIP OFF MERCHANTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ordered online. Curries very tasty especially to Guntur Mirchi masala and Butter chicken were so delicious. Starters onion bhaji and chicken 65 are good as well.

Awful, awful, awful. This place is open just a week so we decided to give it a try. My advice having done so is go elsewhere. We were genuinely shocked and disappointed with the very poor tasting, watery food served up here (see photo). They must know that their food is very well below par and borderline flavourless. We got four meals and some sides and wasted our money. The chicken tikka korma was the worst korma that we’ve had in a very long time. It was terrible and 1 star. It was watery and it was really difficult to determine if there was any coconut or cream in it. There’s a theme here as the vegetable curries and the lentil dal were also 1 star as they too lacked any real flavour and were also watery and the vegetables (carrots, peas and onions) had the lack of taste, texture and appearance of Iceland freezer veg. The dal should have been thick, with fried garlic and fresh coriander but it was nothing of the sort. The paneer cheese was 3 star but the sauce it was in was 2 star. Their pilau rice and nan breads were just about 3 star. The onion bhaji was 2 star. We spent about £50 and there wasn’t one single dish that we would buy again, nor would we take any dish here for free. Every dish was met with oh dear that’s very poor. Most of the food has been frozen and will likely be binned. We certainly won’t return and believe me when I say there was no satisfaction eating this rubbish food and no satisfaction at all in writing this review.
