It's a typical Greggs. Nothing special about it. Great for a quick bite to eat. TL;DR It's a Greggs.

Can't resist a Greggs snack ,while on a recent break in Lancaster we visited two of their outlets, this one along St Nicholas Arcade was really good. Your typical Greggs outlet, modern, light and airy interior, a glass fronted serving bar showcases the goodies on offer and the staff in this outlet were fantastic. We got a pack of sausage rolls, £3 for four sausage rolls, we enjoyed them outside, absolutely delicious, in my opinion the best sausage rolls in the United Kingdom, perfect snack when pub hopping, this is most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

Greggs is a chain of British bakeries found in most major high-streets that offer a very good range of pastries and sweets. Located by St Nicholas Arcades'this is one of two Greggs around this area. When here we had a pack of Greggs sausages and an excellent cake which were superb and well priced. If you are looking for well priced savouries and sweet treat's Greggs is a great option and this Greggs is very easy to locate from George Street bus stops walk along Penny street onto St Nicholas Arcades.(This is my first review of Greggs in Lancaster). Opening Hours. Monday-Saturday-06.30-17.30. Sunday-06.30-17.00. Nearest Bus Stop. George Street bus stop.

Short review: Must visit fish & chip in Lancashire, UK. Highly recommended. Detailed review: On our March 2022 trip to Lancaster, Hodgson’s chippy was on our to-do list. It is a multiple award winning chippy, especially at the start of the millennium. We got to know about this place when we were aimlessly flipping across a book titled, ‘Make the most of your time in Britain’ Chapter 111: Tracking down the perfect chippy in Lancashire. This accidental browsing in a way encouraged us to plan our trip to the sleepy county town of Lancaster. Must say, we were impressed by this fryer. Open from noon to 8pm on all days besides Sunday, one could order their meal online with the website being very user friendly. We did not use the app, hence cannot comment. There is no dine in option & no delivery. It is a small brown- bricked, curb side pickup located close to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary. When you reach the chippy during busy hours, you are handed a device which bleeps/startles you once your meal is ready. In addition to the specials board, there is a small panel which states the origin & variety of the potato and where the cod was caught. The chips, best consumed hot, are giant finger-thick, chunky, creamy and not at all greasy. While writing this review, my mouth has suddenly started salivating, reminiscing about the crunchy breaded haddock and scampi and the mind blowing tartare sauce. The battered cod was tasty and good in its own league, but in a way pales in comparison to the scampi and breaded haddock. Needless to say, the fish was extremely fresh, the food was well seasoned & the entire experience was worth the visit. I am still drooling and tempted to drive up to Lancaster and relive this feast. Ah…the power of a great meal! Updated review - summer of 2024 Revisited it on a sunny Saturday afternoon. The place was quite empty. The breaded fish and scampi were still very good. Good tartare sauce and mushy peas. The salt and pepper squid, fish cake and cheesy chips were OK, not great. I would not recommend adding salt and vinegar while placing the order. Instead, buy a bottle to prevent the food from getting soggy. Rookie mistake, I know. Parking near the chippy can be difficult. There are two car parks - Nelson Street car park and Williamson Park Car park around 11 mins walk from the venue. Williamson Park is great on a good clear day. There is a Golocal corner shop bang opposite the chippy for a wider selection of drinks. Enjoy!
