Greggs in County Durham

Been going regularly (maybe a bit too regularly) ever since I moved to the area. Partly down to the people – it’s always nice when your local has staff who are unfailingly cheerful.

Sausage rolls are the best on the menu imo Some nice buns too 🤭

Absolutely shocked at the customer service from the old lady in this store. I've been a customer for years and always been very polite, today I walked inside the shop and stood out of the way in the corner while I finished my conversation as I didn't want to be rude and order while on the phone. The old lady came over and approached me and told me "go away if you're not buying anything." I was literally speechless. Will never be back to any greggs after that, they are all terrible anyway I only went for convenience but never again.

I ordered a delivery from this establishment and the time for delivery just kept on changing over and over again that I got to the point in which I cancelled my order after waiting over an hour and I'll definitely no be ordering from this greegs again

Sunday morning team its my favourite! Always smiling and happy to serve breakfast at 8.30 on the dot as soon as doors open. Make my day every time.

When the manager isn't there the staff in this store are the most useless bunch. The guy with glasses touches everyone's food with his hands, not washing them after handling coins or notes and doesn't ware gloves. When pulled up about it he turns away to make it look like he's doing it properly yet still pokes his grubby sausages that's served 5 people and handled change in to hold the roll open. Today saw a new low in that he doused my roll in ketchup way beyond edible and didn't give me the amount of fillings I'd ordered and paid for.

I have visited this shop a few times. Usually the staff working in there are very helpful, particularly the ladies. I was there this afternoon and ordered a chicken bake which was stone cold. I went to the counter and asked if they were able to hear it up for me. One of the two guys went " No we are not allowed to do that !!". I was like, "Are they meant to be cold though?" He went" we prepared them fresh and they are not meant to be kept warm!" It was not about what he said. It was more about the way he said it. He was rude, impatient and very unfriendly. He was actually one of the guys who make sandwiches, rolls and Pizza in the kitchen for Gregg's. I have never come across such service at Gregg's until today. I would not hire someone like him if I was a manager of Greggs. He came across really grumpy, impatient and racist.

Beat place to have a nice and affordable breakfast and hot drinks.

There’s never anything ready for their opening time, just open 30mins later!

Not very tidy, no decaf and confusing promotion. Nice employees.

Was served by a cheeky old woman who robbed me of 50p. Overcharged for the meal deal. She was rude to the person before me too.

My favourite Greggs and I've been to most of them. Always brilliant service nom nom nom.

Love greggs I get the sausage roll, scotch pie and steak bake

As usual Gregg's sell one of the best snacks in Edinburgh.

Staff have always been friendly and service is usually quite quick. Some seating but limited epically during the rush hours, designed with takeaway as the focus. Clean and well stocked, it’s not always the first to get new products, but not far behind.

"The No Pie's Gregs Shop" so after 11:00 in the morning and the breakfast rush is over and not a pie or sausage roll on the shelf, unless your Vegan. Come on what sort of bakers is this, don't they want custom? And it's not the first time time has happened in this shop at 357 Leith Walk Edinburgh. Walked out in discussed and took my custom elsewhere.

Affordable. Delicious food diverse from what we experience in the US. Easily found around the UK staff is always friendly.

It's clean, it's nice, they have good products

OK for snacks like sausage rolls, sandwiches etc so annoying for gluten free people as they only do a small packet of brownies and nothing else

Very good food. Regular staff, at least in Edinburgh. Dont ever ever take the extra one pound soup

Greggs is Greggs. Tasty food, great prices and usually has what I want.

Changing my review again, 3d time now, it was 3 stars at the begining than five and now comming back to 3, taking 2 points off for customer service, two old ladies was told to clean the tables before leaving the shop, They been stopt by the door and told to clean tables, that is not nice in my opinion.

As I said before this looks like a meeting place for the locals to congregate which means of people who go in there to have something to eat and have coffee or tea have to leave with their meals and drinks and sit in a place outside not good

How can you not give greggs 5*!!??

Yummy delicious cheese and ham toastie and so cheap £2.80 ,Chocolate muffin £1, hot chocolate and coffee everything under the £2,but the only bad thing is that coffee is from that machine that doesn’t make nice coffee like in some cafes...Service was nice!!!

In all honesty there's a pet shop called dofo's 7 shops down you'd be better off buying dog food from there this is by far one of the worst Gregs shops I've been in. They will heat up a sandwich out of the fridge and serve you cold pasties then refuse to heat them up

Misleading rude staff, horrible quality of food. Waste of time, I advise u to go to the one down the road.
