Greek Mezetaverna in Middlesbrough

Great place. Great service. Great atmosphere. But the tzatziki sauce was not yoghurt based like I know it in Greece. It was a sauce with another sauce almost like garlic mayo. Maybe an off day…. Thanks guys

Great food at a good price, with brilliant service on a Friday night. I had the grilled platter for 2 and the food was delicious! Highly recommended.

Not very good... Has the seafood pasta, which was some prawns in a carbonara white sauce...

Beautifully cooked food, reasonably priced, friendly staff. Really can’t ask for more. We got the mixed grill for 2. Pork and lamb chops were seasoned and cooked perfectly. Garlic sausage, chicken and pork skewers, chicken gyros, kofta. All delicious. Highly recommend.

Could not fault the food or the service. Would have been 5☆ if it wasn't for having to enter via an enclosed outside seating area that was full of people smoking with no ventilation. Once inside the restaurant, there was still a smell of smoke. However, onto the food. Mezze sharer for two was excellent. Perfect size tasting platter. Mains were chicken gyros, this is served with amazing homemade chips, sliced pitta, salad and garlic sauce. I had a special grill for one, skewer of chicken, lamb and pork with a Greek sausage. All cooked to perfection, again served with pitta, chips, salad garlic and sweet chilli sauce. The gentleman that served us was very attentive and friendly. Overall a lovely experience. To the owners, please ventilate the smoking area!! 🙏

First visit to this restaurant and certainly won't be the last, arrived on a quiet Monday, early evening without a reservation, table for 4 persons, greeted by a friendly looking gentleman who provided outstanding service throughout our time there, the food was delicious, succulent lamb, real 'proper chips', and my first taste of Baklava was incredible, lovely little place I will definitely return and will definitely reccomend to others. Quiet when we visited but nevertheless cracking food at a great price. The mixed starter for 2 was brilliant.

I just ordered one dish with extra tzaziki and got two, although I was alone there. The tzaziki was a sauce not a yogurt as I know it. Pork was dry and chips not crunshy. Sorry but this was my first and last visit here

Chicken looked raw or just rank, portion is ridiculously small. Bought 3, what a waste of £30 and fuel. Used to love this place but we will never go again.

We went in a quiet lunchtime with just us in the restaurant, but food and service were fantastic.

Food was average, owners kids playing video games on full volume did not set a good atmosphere. Didn't feel very welcoming when we walked in either.

Had a great meal on Monday lunchtime. Everything was flavourful and perfectly cooked.

Perhaps we hit it at the wrong time, 3.45 Sunday. Asked for Lime and soda, got Sprite. A few people in using it as a bar, which was fine. Shared starter plate was fine, but no complaints. Main courses - Gorgonzola Risotto. Would have expected this to taste of Gorgonzola, or at least some from of cheese. Tasteless. Kofteh Skewers - fried, hard on the outside, oily, one of them had cheesey type stuff inside. Soggy oven chips and a bland salad> We have had some lovely Greek/Turkish/Lebanese/Persian food on Teesside, and although the starter was fine, the main course were so disappointing

Stopped on a whim. If I lived in the area this would be at least a monthly place. We shared an appetizer and each got a plate. Neither could finish the plate. Very good food. Hot and fresh. The service was great. I was very pleased with the quality of everything.

I booked a table on there website the day befor I intended to go. But when we arrived they did not have a clue that they had a booking. We then got informed that they were closing early. Seams to me that it is verry poorly ran and no customer service. I was looking forward to eating hear. But with the lack of management and customer service I will not be trying again.

Food was beautiful. Excellent prices too. We had the sharing platter for a starter and it was lovely. Really recommend this place, definitely going back. On recommendation we had rge tres leches for pudding. Get it. Light and tasty but more than enough to feel like you've had a massive dessert.

This place is a hidden gem! I recommend everybody try this place! The food was delicious and the service was second to none, which made it all the better! The desserts were pretty spectacular as they brought over a traditional Greek dessert (sorry, I forget the name- beginning with E?) and it was the best dessert I've had in a long time! Go to this restaurant!!

Went for a meal and drinks food was outstanding and service was brilliant, highly recommended and will definitely go back again. First time trying baklava for desert and it was well worth it.

Excellent food. Very quiet for a Friday night but possibly due to change of name (formerly the 'Meze Lounge') In fact, we were surprised to find the name changed when we arrived.

Really nice ambience. Feels like right in the middle of a street in greece. Tried two main dishes and a dessert. Food was really nice and worth trying atleast once. Staff was super friendly and informative about the greek culture and cuisine. Loved it!

We found this place by chance and initially just stopped for a drink, but it was so chill we decided to stay for dinner. We're a family of four. Unlike in some bars the kids were made very welcome here. Atmosphere was super relaxed, staff were awesome, and the food was out of this world. Absolutely spot on. Will definitely go again.

Took a group of six here for a lovely evening dinner, staff were amazingly friendly and kind and the decor was beautifully charming. The food was incredible, rich in flavour and quality. I cannot recommend this place enough, if you want good Greek food than Greek Mezetaverna is THE place to go. I will be going back for more.

Such an amazing and authentic Turkish restaurant in the local area. My second time visiting. However, I'd been to Turkey between the two visits, and what a difference it makes knowing the names of the different dishes. The only gripe I have was it was quite expensive for a small family run restaurant. Having said that, it's probably a place where you're more likely to leave the kids at home.

Gorgeous food as always so very helpful with the menu, loads to pick from. Never a bad meal here EVER. Staff are super friendly and helpful see you next time meze lounge

I got the sucuk, a cheese pastry and we shared a meat platter. The ladies at the front were so nice. Im sat here craving more 8 hours later. Most tender chicken ive come across. Gorgeous

With home made fennel bread that would make Paul Hollywood proud, you truly can't go wrong with this place. I suggest the shrimp - with extra bread of course! Delicious.

Food was delicious. Service was good too on a Tuesday evening. Price was a little higher than I would normally pay. The portion size, well let's just say that, they leave room for three courses. I have returned her a few times now and I have to say that it is consistently delicious. I always made sure to call and reserve a table at peak times.
