looking for a decent chippy in Acklam after G's starting serving Coley as Cod.. ordered and the fish was cooked from fresh..this process seemed to take an eternity... the end product was a totally overcooked fish crispy and chewy round the edges.. a shame really, the fish looked to be good quality and the chips were great and hot for a change .. the frier needs to get his act together, my search continues ....

Best chippy in the area. Family run and great fish and chips. There are 3 chippies closer to home but Carols is by far the best.

Two adults two children Called in near to closing Staff were extremely helpful towards 4 weary travellers Food was freshly cooked chips were excellent fish etc were good Even put some batter bits in to cook for me Unfortunately didn’t get chance to call a second time Well done

First time I've used Carol's plaice and certainly won't be the last I found out they sell long skate which is my favourite fish. So I phoned them on Friday night just before they closed and they put a skate in for me .It was absolutely beautiful lovely crispy batter (not greasy) and lots of very tasty chips .also the staff were very friendly and helpful. This is the best chippy in Middlesbrough by far.

Had patie and chips from here on Tuesday 10/10 so tasty, haven't had a good fish and chips in ages so this was heaven. Lovely friendly atmosphere while you waited. Will definitely be going back

The best fish and chips in Middlesbrough is all I can say. Friendly staff, fresh food, and a great price! The fish is always cooked to order and has a nice fresh crisp to the batter- never greasy! My regular for fish and chips, 100% recommended!

It's Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock, and the fish shop has been open since 11.30, not sure whether that's the reason but the chips were horrible. I think they had been sat in the warmer fir a very long time.

And the fish and chips are the best and the mushy peas and the curry sauce and the tarter sauce and the tomato sauce and the brown sauce

I don't like the slushes but everything else is fine the slushes taste like blueberry icecream

Terrible food nothing like it used to be verry rude staff they overcharged me twice before i brought it up and they were very unprofessional i threw away the food after

If you have any sense you would not eat this food my friend has worked here for quite a while and pointed out serious hygiene issues including insects at the back of shop and mouse feces health inspection needed here plus shut down
