I have been coming to this authentic Greek place for a few years. This place is frequented by real Greeks. You can hear Greek voices in the background. Before Covid, they used to have two premises - 167-169 Farringdon Rd, London EC1R 3AL used to be a grocery store, bakery with deli. Across the road was a simple Greek food eatery serving souvlakis. They now have tried to combine everything into a single premises. The food is a little more expensive, then it used to be, but it still has the same great taste. 'Great' is now more of a casual restaurant. They still make souvlakis and have a good selection of starters and main meals. They also have a selection of deli item to buy from the fridge. I loved the bouyiourdi - this is a baked Greek Feta with tomato. (I am not a fan of Feta, but I loved this dish. Yummy!). I will be back next time I am in the area!

It was full of flavour. A very large portion. I have an issue with gluten and they amended the dish. If I’m ever in the area again I’ll be back

Across from my hotel. Had the chicken gyro and it was delicious. Owner is from the island of Naxos in Greece and very friendly. They have full Greek menu and a bakery. Great place for dinner or dessert.

The best breakfast in London, in my case abundant scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and excellent coffee, served by the charming and friendly Marlena.

We stayed at the Premier Inn hub over the road and fancied a nicer breakfast than the one on offer. So we popped over the road to this little Greek place. SO glad we did! We had Bougatsa which is a delicious flaky pastry with custard in the middle, scrambled eggs with sausage and sour dough toast which came with a lovely garnish, and an amazing fresh juice with beetroot and ginger. Fantastic food!

We were in London for 6 days and stayed not far from this delicatessen. All I can say is Wow. Lovely informed staff, great atmosphere and value. The food was superb, some of the best I have had outside of Greece. We only wish we had found you sooner. I would love to keep this to myself but everyone should try it. Be prepared for the huge size of the portions. Thank you once again for a lovely evening.

After a recent visit to Greece with my family we adopted many local delights. We couldn’t bring much of the local products home with us so we went to search what was on offer. The Great Greek Deli was a great find and offers some great products that we love and enjoy. The range of olive oil, yogurt and feta are superb so it’s well worth a visit even it’s a trip down memory lane.

Lovely food. Spoiled by an abrupt end to the evening with guests being asked to pay while they were eating and bright lights being switched on. Don’t bring your date!!

We dropped by on a Saturday night around 6.30pm on the off chance they could squeeze us in, which they (almost begrudgingly) did, but no worries, we promised we’d be out by 7.30 for their 8pm booking.
