The Cally in Islington

I not only work in the area over 23 year but frequent the pub since current management took over. It's changed for the better, believe me. While big screens may attract the odd idiot or two on football night, there's nothing to fear and indeed, management and staff act swiftly to ensure customers are happy and enjoying themselves. It's a sad day when some touch-me-not with a hidden agenda, besmirches the otherwise good name of the owners, locals, visitors and pub.

Best be in the in crowd here - dangerous for anyone who does not support the right team - is not the right race or religion. Worst experience I have ever had in a pub the landlord happily sided with those threading to rip the shirt off my Jewish friend

Incredibly friendly warm and welcoming staff had a great time there and the food is delicious. Can’t wait to visit again:)

I got told by a mouthy lad who lived a couple of doors away never to enter this pub unless with the buffoon as I would get beaten up for not being a local So I went in here mid afternoon and found a pleasant bar man,two couples sat round a table and two girls at another table They didn’t exactly seem on the verge of wanting to fight me or anyone else who may have entered so I was right to ignore mouth almighty I didn’t eat,I just had a lovely pint of Guinness and will very likely pop in again when in London

Il était près de 14h et nous cherchions un endroit pour manger sans connaitre le quartier. C'est donc par hasard que nous avons mangé là. Bonne surprise. Cuisine simple mais de bonne qualité et ambiance très décontracté. Le bar sert de lieu de rendez vous après les entrainement de foot, ambiance garanti. Service un peu long, mais vu l'heure et le monde, ça peut s'expliquer. A recommander sans hésiter.

Mis amigos vinieron durante una semana y se quedaron en la zona, así que nos reunimos para tomar unas copas en este pub. Las bebidas eran baratas; Un montón de opciones, la comida era buena (2 amigos eligieron hamburguesa de ternera y dijeron que era muy sabrosa). La porción de patatas fritas era bastante generosa.

En última! Un pub con comida decente.Esta fue nuestra tercera pub, en una tarde, en la búsqueda de una comida. Tiene una influencia griega en los platos.Teníamos hamburguesa y patatas fritas, pinchos de pollo y patatas fritas y tuve el bacalao y patatas fritas.El bacalao fue hecho en miga y era, evidentemente, un producto comprado de congelados, pero, por £8. 50 era perfectamente adecuada. Una comida decente de pub. Mis colegas disfrutaron de sus comidas, también.Nos tomamos unas cervezas" 61 Marston profunda" y sin duda nos alojaremos allí de nuevo.

Super Sunday with Premier league. Good place for watching matches. Nice pintas of Guinness. Typical English bar with sandwiches.

Situato appena sotto l'hotel in cui risiedevamo ci siamo concessi una serata al pub tra piatti di carne e patatine e birra con partita trasmessa sui megaschermi.

Olhando de fora parece apenas um Pub para o happy hour ou asssitir ao futebol (tem várias TVs). A comida surpreenddeu pelo preço justo e quantidade bem farta. Como a maioria dos Pubs o pedido e pagamento é direto no balcão. Não tem aquele atendimento top de um restaurante fino, mas atendeu as expectativas no sabor da comida. Os pratos são grandes. Se não estiver com fome da tranquilo para dividir um prato para duas pessoas. Pint gelada!

Brilliant pub both to drink/eat and watch sport. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the prices are very good for a London Pub, good portions on the food front value for menu with a top Full English Breakfast. The place to go enjoy.

Ci siamo fermati in questo pub sperando di poter vedere la partita Juve-Toro, in quanto il locale è dotato di tv satellitare a pagamento. Alla nostra richiesta il titolare ci ha accontentati.Locale spazioso, birra buona e grigliata di carne abbondante. Richiami alla cucina greca nel menú. Prezzi buoni.

We went in for a quick drink and ordered takeaway pitas with pork. Generous portions, tasty and nice. A good choice for neighbourhood!

Paramos en el hotel por encima de este pub así metimos por una pinta y algo de comida en la noche, ya que el hotel no autorizado. Ambiente agradable cuando fuimos, lugar popular, música y gente divirtiéndose.El personal parecía no conocer sus existencias o no entendía inglés, ya que me costó 3 intentos para averiguar si estaban todavía sirve comida, tomando un menú. Cuando decidimos lo que queríamos, que trajo otro problema, una sustitución sencilla de granos para guisantes nuevamente tomó unos cuantos intentos de conseguir este entendido y una de las comidas parecía totalmente desconocida a la persona tomar la orden, tenía que mostrar dónde estaba así que podría completar la orden.Cuando la comida llegó fue algo así como que te dan en una tienda de comida congelada barato y luego frito.Sólo ha marcado el lugar como promedio debido a gente amable.Se suponía que era abierto de 7 a 12, pero en la segunda noche estuvo encerrado apretado cuando volvimos a las 23:00 y no estaba abierto cuando nos marchamos a las 10:30 de la mañana.

Es un lugar muy tranquilo y acogedor, es perfecto si quieres salir con amigos y ser capaz de hablar (no gritar) con ellos.

Muy buena comida griega. También sirven hamburguesas (no he probado). Yo recomendaría ir allí para un spaghetti a la boloñesa (estilo griego), pedido tzatziki, conocer a la parrilla y algunos houmous. No había mucha variedad para vegetarianos Guarniciones aunque vale la pena probarlo

First time I've ever tried Greek inspired and wow great flavours galore, it's a pub with great screens for football, good atmosphere and very good food.My mate had the pasta, very nice and very real, I had the mixed grill and the flavours are.. Well wowGive this place a try if your close

Etablissement sympathique d'aspect. La nourriture y était bonne et pas cher. Ambiance calme mais agréable.

Drinks a little pricey, and the atmosphere can be dead sometimes (even on Friday or Saturday evenings sometimes). We've eaten there once and the food was pleasant but again a bit on the pricey side.

Man hatte das Gefühl das man eher nicht willkommen war. Wir bestellten einen Burger und die Pasta mit Tuna. Beides war in Ordnung und schmeckte. Auch die Portionen waren größzügig. Der Service war etwas unfreundlich. Die Preise sind niedriger als in anderen Lokalen.

Pub was absolutely dead with only three other customers apart from me and my mum. Very limited drink selection and not very decently priced.

Vi,min hustru, jag och ett barnbarn, besökte restaurangen efter att vi checkat in på hotellet i samma hus. Utbudet var begränsat till ganska enkel mat. där samma tillbehör återkom i flera rätter. Väldigt rikliga portioner, smaken OK men inte mer än så. Litet utbud på dryck, bättre på öl än på vinsidan.Trevlig personal.

Found this place through trip advisor when I wanted to grab a quick lunch with friends. Was really surprised at how good the food is. Staff were really friendly too. The layout doesn't create much of an atmosphere so don't know if I would spend an evening here, buy will definitely go back for lunch. Prices are fantastic when you see the portion size

Y eat biggest plate off food on 7,50£ ever, not expected good quality , chips, salad , big meat piece, good price recommend.See you next time, for shore.

I went there with a group of friend to have diner. The food they offer is greek. The plates are very generous, the quality is decent and the prices are decent. If you are looking to have a decent diner followed by drinks, this is it!

The food is good, and well priced, but the real treat here is the staff. We dined and/or drank in the restaurant 3 days in a row, and watched World Cup on the big screen tv. The staff were so accommodating, they let us stay to watch penalty shoot outs when they knew we were visitors without a tv. Wonderful people. Wouldn't hesitate to go there again - in fact I know I will when I'm next in the Islington/Angel area!

Nous étions à L'hôtel Makedonia au 427 Caledonian Road à Londres. Nous avons découvert ce PUB au pied de l'hôtel, qui nous à reçu avec une grande gentillesse. Nous y avons diner et bu pour pas très cher. Il y avait un grand écran de télévision pour regarder les Matchs du mondial dans une grande ambiance. En plus il y a le WIFI. donc un établissement à ne pas raté si vous êtes dans le coin. Bonne visite de Londres. Oxford Circus, Bond Street, Picadilly Circus pour les soldes.Voir aussi la maison des M&M'S à Leicester square....
