Grawen in Merthyr Tydfil

After waiting nearly an hour the restaurant cancel our order at 9pm at night. Terrible service. Why take on orders you can't deliver?!

Ordered a takeaway last night. Both me and my fiancé are unwell today with stomach issues. Can’t put it down to anything else. If you fancy lying on the sofa all day with really bad stomach pain not able to do much else then treat yourself.

Can't comment on the food because the owner refused to deliver to me, as my order was only coming to around £30...I'm 3 miles away from this Chinese and was told recently by one of their delivery drivers that they deliver here..i always tip at least £5...he said if I spent more they would consider delivering...what type of service is that?.....Will never ring this place again.

Great place to have a takeaway, our favourite in Merthyr! Food is so nice and we have ordered over and over again from here. Sometimes there can be a long wait for food to arrive though so order early!.

Honestly, their food is good and great in taste but they are absolutely awful with delivery times. We have ordered regularly on Saturday’s for the past few weeks and every single time apart from once our food has been late. It’s been an hour late, half an hour late etc and we’ve had to phone them multiple times asking where our food is. We ordered tonight from them and our food was supposed to be delivered at 10, we phoned up at 10:35 and they said it hadn’t even left the kitchen. It’s getting appalling.

Not the worst Chinese I’ve had but not the best it was ok! The noodles were over cooked and soo was the rice. Popadoms were stale and curry was lacking in flavour

Completely unable to complete the deliveries they accept. Have ordered several times over the last five years, and had delays of up to two and a half hours previously, but decided to give them one last chance tonight (Christmas Eve). Pre-ordered at 3pm for delivery at 6:30pm this evening via Just Eat. Restaurant accepted order after they opened at 5:30, but sent an email at 7:00pm saying they were choosing not to honour Just Eat deliveries as foot traffic was too high. Awful customer service. Don't expect to receive any food you order, and even if you do expect to receive it late and cold. Terrible.

Ordered food here today, got home saw they gave me crispy beef not the crispy chicken I ordered, had to drive back there where the rude woman on the reception tried telling me I ordered beef when I ordered chicken, (I don't eat beef so never would have ordered it) then she went out back and asked them to change it because I "don't like beef", not that she messed up and got the order wrong!, so no apology or anything just bad customer service and bad food, also food served in broken containers, overall would recommend to go somewhere else unless you want bad food and rude staff.

The food and delivery is always fantastic but I left a note reminding you not to forget the free prawn crackers. They were there this time but my sweet n sour sauce for the sweet n sour special was missing. Not impressed :(

Deliver price is incorrect they’ll ask you for extra when the delivery driver turns up. Food took over 2 hours to deliver. Food not the greatest quality. Chips had been left in the bag for ages and were greasy and soggy. Crispy beef just tasted like grease and the sauce like vinegar. Beansprouts were swimming in liquid. Portion sizes not great for the price. Won’t be ordering from here again

Also there was no free bag of Prawn Crackers which I thought was given with an order over £18 - ours was £24.60. Therefore disappointed with Restaurant Service but delivery and quality of food was great, as usual.

I don't. or ally take the time to review but I had to this one, not only was food half and hour late it was cold, don't know how long it was sat in the drivers car for but it was not good at all

Ordered food at 18:06 and eta was 18:55, was delivered at 18:23. We automatically thought wrong order or bad food. How wrong were we!!!! The food was beautiful, and large enough to do two meals. By far the best take away food I have eaten in Merthyr. Will defiantly be using them again. Thank you

Just had a takeaway from Grawen Chinese, Nat's curry tastes way too salty to even eat, ring them to sort it cause never had issues before "No, we haven't done anything wrong." Sorry lovely, you're food was so salty it made me retch to eat it. Zero stars if I could have.

If you want your food in 2/3 hours then this is the place for you. You're given a time then they chuck an extra 20 minutes into the order.

This is the last time I will ever order from this take away my order was incorrect I contacted the take away who said that the driver would return with the correct order over 40 mins later I get a phone call from the take away telling me that the driver would not be able to make it back to me as he finishes shortly and he is 'flat out' assuming that's slang for busy and my money would be refunded the next time I order well there will not be a next time this is appalling service very unprofessional from both the driver and the telephonist unacceptable

The food was delicious, but it took two and a half hours to get here. When we were phoning which was 3 times and the person that was on the phone was rude and didn't have a clue what was going on.

To start off with there was a 20 minute time added to the order, which I understand as it's Saturday night and it's busy. But 20 minutes after that extra estimated delivery time, upon ringing I've just found out that it's now going to take another 30 minutes!

The chow mein sauce gets a jelly texture when it cools down, not good by the time you get it home and eat it. Bit off putting. Otherwise lovely food & service.

Alright food, chips where a bit starchy, boyfriend found a really sharp bit of plastic in his food, if he'd have eaten it, it would've seriously hurt him size of the plastic was the lenght of a 10p coin. Gravy tasted weird. But overall alright for the money.
