Could well be the best Chinese takeaway I've ever had. Incredible value, delivery is quick, food is exceptional and the portions very generous. Staff are efficient and helpful on the phone. 100% recommend. If I was an influencer I'd want to collab with gourmet house.

This is hands down the BEST Chinese I’ve ever had and I’ve ordered quite a lot throughout the years! Great portions sizes and the food is just delicious, this will be my regular Chinese spot from now on.

Honestly, I don’t know how this place doesn’t have a higher review rating. The last time I ordered from a place that wasn’t greedy with their portion sizes and actually gave you what you paid for was back 20 years ago. This place is amazing! They fill everything up to the top, it’s consistent and you actually get what you paid for plus more! If you’re thinking of going elsewhere for a discount, just know that full price here is worth every penny. Quality and quantity all in one place

We live in wales and ordered a take away to our hotel from here whilst visiting London. I have to say, no word of a lie. This is the nicest Chinese take away I have ever had. I wish Welsh take away’s were this standard. The spicy prawns were huge and the special fried rice was so delicious. Thank you so much. Really enjoyed. Please move to Swansea and open one here 🙏

Order took an hour & half to arrive . Probably the worst chicken curry I’ve ever tasted , rubbery chicken ( not even sure it WAS chicken . Full of massive onions . I’m struggling to find a decent Chinese lately , would not order again . Waste of £20

A very good surprise!!! I loved it, it reminded me when I was a kid and used to eat Chinese food. The sweet and sour chicken is my favorite! Large portions but most important, good taste!

Ordered and picked up from the establishment which saved us half the charge on uber eat. The food was delicious, the House Special rice, duck rice, Crispy chilli beef and the Dim Sum was very tasty, the portions huge, the quality of everything was fresh. Really good experience! 👍

We ordered dinner for 3, slightly reluctant due to low ratings but were advised that they’ve been taken over by new management, so took the chance. We are so glad that we did as the food is really delicious and the portions very large. We ordered a variety of dishes and each one was tasty. The staff are polite and friendly and this will be our go to Chinese take away going forward.

I have ordered from here several times using another delivery service and the food has always been great. Tonight was no exception, good portion sizes, food was hot, delicious and well packaged and we always appreciate the fortune cookies. The only slight issue with this place is the delivery always takes ages, however they do let you know up front it will be a long wait.

I was wondering why this place only has about 3.8 stars but then realised the poor ratings were from YEARS AGO! Let me tell you, they have seriously improved since then and don't deserve the low rating today. I have ordered delivery from them a couple times and I must say I am now a loyal customer. They have a great website to order from and actually pay attention to the notes I put to make adjustments to my meal. I once called to make changes that I forgot to put in the notes section and the lady was very patient and friendly. They also give you so much food with extras! Last night we received a free big bottle of Coke, a bag of prawn crackers and four fourtune cookies. Now, their food is really authentic and I can say this as someone who is from Hong Kong. I have really missed real Chinese food since moving to London but I am beyond happy to know that I have Gourmet House near me!!! I highly recommend the salt & pepper squid (a must), har gau, and any of their chow mein!

Best ho fun with black bean sauce in the local area. The lady at the counter has always been nice and efficient.

Ordered here not too long ago, and the food was amazing! Really loved the friendliness from the server and she was really patient when I had no idea what to order. Portioning was fantastic, filled to the brim I couldn’t even finish the food. Tasted really great as well. I will defo be coming back to try out other dishes!

I have only ordered takeaways from here via Uber eats - it’s the best Chinese takeaway and now my favourite place to order from. They always follow small requests on my notes and the food is always PERFECT, FLAVOURSOME and FRESH. I love their citrus flavoured fortune cookies - yum yum

Amazing takeaway i’ve had , perfect flavour and service was quick and food arrived within 10 minutes

This is the only spot I trust, I Spent just under £40 (family of 4) and was extremely pleased with the portions! (Still have left overs) The flavours were 10/10 and everything arrived hot and well packed! Also received a free bottle of Cola, a bag of crackers and a bag of fortune cookies! Highly recommend.

I want to give no stars)Food just getting worser back in August 2022 I spent over £40 on chicken balls curry chicken the works & it was horrible lacking meat, burnt, watery sources 2xrids only 2 for the price out of order, it actually made some family members cry extremely upset, I had ordered from this Chinese place before food was ok I had never gone over £30 I done an order for over £40 this time and what I received was disgusting and all the owner could say was I'm sorry YES I knew the food was a bit burnt (a bit try unedible) when you order again I'll give you something for free or something like that. I explained as a customer I was not happy the food was unedible (CAN NOT EAT IT)for me £40 is ALOT of money to spend on food for one day and it had to go in the bin and they still chose to not even give me any percentage of my money back I felt like I've just been rob my family was hungry such a shame and so sad that a company will take money from a person/customer knowing that their food product was unedible I still upset about this when I think about it I'm thinking how am I letting them get away with this so hurtful & don't get me started on wasting food & now a friend last week November 2022 (recent) received uncooked chicken and once again the manager did nothing about it, he even went as far as tell her she was wrong it was cooked at the correct temperature (just out of order) please be careful when buying from this restaurant please. I'm very new to reviews I do have pictures evidence I just don't know how to upload them yet I need to look in to my rights as a customer I'm so upset it's hurtful stop taking people money

Chinese wasn’t great the Singapore noodles was bland just curry power was put on it for colour cause that’s all I could taste meat was over cooked no flavour same with the special fried rice bland no flavour the meat in it also bland the only flavour I got was from the green peas in it the salt chilli ribs just tasted of just Salt and they were over cooked and tasted stringy such a shame I will never spend my money here again.

Tried this place for the first time today. I'm vegetarian and had the 'vegetable stir fry with black bean sauce', 'tofu with chili sauce' and egg fried rice. All 3 dishes cost me £13.10. Everything was super tasty and rich in flavour, quite big portions as well. Waited less than 10 minutes after ordering. Friendly service as well! Would definitely recommend!! 🙂👍 PS: Be aware that you can only pay in cash.

By far the worst Chinese I ever had.... I would go as far to say it is actually an insult to say it's Chinese food I just had..... Singapore chow mein meant to be spicy .... It was blander then spaghetti.... Then meet with it was so over cooked it took me 5 minutes to eat a prawn.... (That's no exaggeration either) And the chicken balls ..... Well the chicken inside was so over cooked I'm still trying to get the half a chicken ball I had out of my teeth.... And insult to injury the batter on the outside was under cooked.... The chicken balls were that greasy I went to get the paper bad out of plastic bag and it just feel apart.... I'd rather not eat ever again then that over priced disgrace.... AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

Really good old fashioned Chinese takeaway and very good prices! Always meets my requests such as swapping sauces in the dishes. They forgot my prawn crackers on one order and made sure I got given them on my next order. Salt and chilli chicken wings are the best! Salty, spicy and crunchy, what more could you want?

Ordered crispy chilli beef. Whilst waiting, i hear alot of sneezing and flemming cough in the back. I was skeptical to eat the food when i got home due to hygiene concerns. But came to realise the chilli beef was bland in taste and not fresh at all. The texture was of sugar cane after you suck the juice out. Very grizzly.

It use to be a fantastic take away but the food I got tonight was very tasteless and not of good quality like it use to be. This is definitely the last time that I will have a take away from this place.

I order from here but I must say these reviews regarding food quality is false, so far I've ordered twice and I'm very satisfied, gentleman on the phone was polite too, hygiene ratings great plus just eat reviews, pricings average, portions are reasonable so far havent got anything negative to say, keep up the good work 👍

The food is usually very good, but the service is patchy. My last experience involved them delivering the wrong food twice and then them taking the phone off the hook so I couldn't get through to ask for a correction. I know this as I went around the place and at saw the phone off the cradle. At this point they were rude, but eventually I got the missing dish, when I said that now the other things would be cold they said I should bring them back round and they'd re-heat them for me then....

What a horrible meal, please do not bother, this is by far the worst chinese I have ever had . The food ended up in the bin. Salt and chilli chicken was so hard and inedible. I called Garden house to complain but the guy said to me “so what do you want me to do about it” then put the phone down. I do not believe how bad this whole experience has been the food is absolutely horrendous don’t be fooled by previous comments !!

Awful. Chicken & black bean sauce tasted like no chicken in black bean sauce I hve ever tasted before !! Rice had not been drained of the starch sticky/stodgy not edible ! Chicken was sticky ? And I am still confused how the clumps of chicken had been cut ? Very odd. Veg was chewy & bland ? Don’t wast time nor money on this place !!

I wish I could give less than 1 star but I can't. the staff were rude, the food is terrible, it took an hour and 55 minutes for delivery and when I called to inform the staff that one of the dishes was wrong and contained an item i am allergic too, they were rude and said they would not give me a refund or replacement as they were "too busy" and refuse to do anything about the order when I tried to call back I was told that the restaurant is now closed at 7:30 on a Saturday. The vegetarian spring rolls or dry. It smells and tastes like it's gone off. And the noodles were less than mediocre they were dry and chewy like shoelaces. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Ever.

Whack! Very disappointing.. no set meal deals.. too much red colouring in the meat.. food tasted as if it was reheated not fresh. Do not come here thinking you will get good Chinese food.
