Just a really lovely little BYO Chinese restauraunt. Cosy, friendly the loveliest staff and always a great meal. Very reasonably priced and the quality of the food is always excellent. Really hard to beat it for starting off your evening or taking away. been going for decades now.

Excellent, the food, staff never disappoints

This is a great local Chinese restaurant and BYO too! Service is friendly and efficient and food is tasty and brilliant value for money. The two course early bird menu is a bargain at £15.50 per person as well. Please remember to book as it’s unlikely that you will get a table without a wait as it’s always fully booked.

Great restaurant, delicious food and superb staff. Can't recommend this place highly enough. First time back in a few years and will definitely be back again soon. A gem in East Belfast

Just great quality food and just unbeatable value with the BYOB if you're on a night out. A real Ballyhack institution that just gest it right without too much fuss. All the staff are from Hong Kong so you get that authentic friendly and welcoming buzz as soon as you step in. Food is made fresh and just the familiar Cantonese style done well. It's not fine dining but I cant think of anywhere that comes near it for quality and value when you can B.Y.O.B. Take away is equally as good and not full of MSG like some others. Very good.

Ordered a chicken Singapore curry, received some medley of rice and meat with no sauce. Disappointed

Been using this chinese for years. Haven't been recently as I found the food had gone down in quality recently. The staff are always lovely and helpful. I noticed another review where cashew nuts were mentioned and staff member commented they never used cashew nuts in any of their curries? I used to order the Singapore curry all the time because it had cashew nuts!!!!!! Strange that but I too wasn't impressed with this dish as it had no flavour and tasted like light fresh cream not coconut milk.

Nice, not expensive food. BYO wine can be bought 5 minutes away on high street. The salt and chilli spare ribs were really good. Staff friendly, but very busy. Not fine dining, but it hit the spot.

Undoubtedly the best Chinese restaurant in Belfast. The food is fresh, authentic and absolutely delicious! The staff is also really lovely and very dedicated to offering quality on every level.

Well usually very good experience, but last 2 visits have been very disappointing. Chicken fried rice a couple of weeks ago wasn't in my opinion properly fried off together. Then tonight Singapore chicken curry was runny and only 6 pieces of chicken, also no cashew nuts ???? Thought I would give them benefit of the doubt. But I shan't be back 😭

Very friendly staff , the food was quality and at a good price. Small and intimate venue. Street parking available too. Would go back easily

First visit there. Food was lovely and service friendly. My only problem was that it is a small area for eating and can be quite noisy when other diners are loud but I will be back.

Just absolutely great from starter to desert

Been eating here for a long time and never had a bad meal. Staff are courteous, friendly, accommodating. Food is great and value for money.

Friendly service but no alcohol

We got half a duck between three of us and the helping was bigger than other Chinese. I had honey chillli chicken which did have a mild kick to it. My friends got satay dish and beef schezian both liked it. Bill came to £25 each this is great value you may get bettter in some chineses in town but will cost a lot more. The service was quick

Had a really good meal here 3/12/22. Service was fast and staff very friendly even though it was very busy. Food was good quality and portions were generous. Well priced and great location. The half Duck starter was large and well presented. Thai green curry was spot on. Would definitely recommend and I will be back. Thanks

Takeaway food usually quite good however the peking chicken I ordered was horrible, could tell it was reheated.

Just needed good old basic comfort food, yip to lazy to make anything or even search the fridge 🤷🏻‍♂️ So let’s see, comfort food ✅ basic not.. this was extremely plentiful and refreshing but not heavy or a burden 👌 The order process was quick and easy and pick up very quick and again no waiting or hassle, I even had a pleasant smile and a warm welcome 🤗 Again I’m no connoisseur of Chinese cuisine and tend to stick to the usual but this was light tasty and enjoyable, unlike some that are heavy with sauces and bland 😣 The location is pleasant with easy access and good parking, so next time I’ll eat in and enjoy the full ambience..

Ordered the duck spring rolls to start. No duck in them. In fact nothing really in them at all. Chicken curry as a main had very little chicken in it. This was one of my favourite restaurants but am so disappointed. Didn’t want to make a fuss as the staff and Keith are so nice.

Booked for a group of 16. Nothing was too much trouble for management or staff. Excellent food served quickly and piping hot. Really reasonably priced so a great option for all. A hidden gem in the heart of Ballyhackamore!

Love coming to this friendly, no frills BYO restaurant to have a meal and a nice bottle of wine. It's a bit of an institution and for good reason: It's great quality and great value when BYO is factored in. The staff are lovely and you just feel welcome. I've kind of had it with the street food and overpriced franchises popping up in ballyhack. Sometimes you just want nice honest food and not have to hear about the "Philosophy" of the dishes as in other establishments. Good Fortune remains cooler than them all by happily just doing its thing, well.

This used to be our go to chinese restaurant but over the years the taste of the food had slightly dwindled. The last time we were there was December 2021 and we were hoping that the food was going to be a lot better but we were sorely disappointed again, the food had no taste whatsoever, I’m sorry to say we will never be back. It really was/is that bad. Definitely new chefs needed and they need to taste the food they are serving.

Father’s Day meal with extended family, great place to eat, staff where excellent, friendly and accommodating, the food was great there where 8 of us and the where no complaints whatsoever, thoroughly recommend

Best Chinese restaurant in Belfast

Good Fortune is our favourite Chinese restaurant for both sitting in or take away. Sitting in is no longer an option, so we had a take away tonight. The chicken Peking dish was horrible, we are not convinced it was chicken and certainly wasn't duck, pork or beef. Real let down tonight ☹️

Got takeaway food here last night. Crispy beef in szechuan sauce... It was really terrible, slimey pieces of beef and soggy veg in a gloopy sauce which tasted of nothing. Threw most of it in the bin. I know lots of friends recommend this place, but my experience was very poor.

Brilliant service and food. Always worth the money .. and bring your own alcohol is a big plus which brings the bill down a good bit was here a few years ago and first night back tonight but is still as good and I'm chuffed. Will recommend and will defo be back.

Still have kept their service levels and food brilliant. The manager always is friendly and dressed sharp. They treat their take away customers just as well as their sit-ins. Can't wait to get a Good Fortune nite out again.

We have been eating Good Fortune food for many years, they re opened after being shut for a few weeks and the food was simply awful. We are really disappointed.

Can't wait until the end of lockdown so we can have a night out again in the Good Fortune. Until then takeaway will have to do, had two last week and was lovely as usual. Gets very busy so get your orders in early. Hope they start delivery sevice soon. Best value and best quality Chinese in the area by far.

Food is great, but not a nice place to sit. I would recommend getting a takeaway from here as the food is tasty and inexpensive but the restaurant is cramped. You feel as if you are sitting on top of the other diners. The bring your own makes it cheaper but it can also bring difficulties with some of the clientele

Pude conseguir una mesa a pesar de que no habíamos reservado y fue una noche muy concurrida. El personal es muy bueno y atento. la comida era deliciosa y se sirve rápidamente. Los inconvenientes para mí eran el ritmo frenético del lugar. Nunca tuve la sensación de relajarse para comer. La buena fortuna también sirve para llevar a cabo. Había personas sin parar yendo y viniendo para llevar a cabo. El lugar es pequeño y, ya que estaba lleno, el ruido fue realmente negativo para mí. Prefiero hablar con amigos durante la cena en lugar de gritar. ¿Todavía volvería si solo en una noche menos ocupada entre semana? Por cierto, es traer el tuyo. mi pareja no lo supo hasta muy tarde. Ella lo sabe para la próxima vez.

He estado en The Good Fortune Chinese Restaurant en varias ocasiones y también lo uso como mi comida china para llevar. La comida es deliciosa y las porciones de un tamaño razonable. El restaurante en sí no es lujoso y la decoración le vendría bien una actualización. A veces puede hacer un poco de frío, pero eso siempre me ha gustado comer aquí. Poder traer tu propio vino es una ventaja adicional. La sal deshuesada y las costillas de chile, el pollo con miel de miel, el pollo de Pekín y el curry son mis platos favoritos.
