Absolutely awful waited too long for an awful meal. Have to be honest I will never order from here again. So disappointing

Meal ready in less than 10 minutes and tasted great. Only 3 stars for atmosphere because what is there to say about a takeaway? One warning, it's cash only.

Ordered a pork curry half rice half chips what arrived looked like dog food it didn't look like pork nor taste like pork will not be using again that's for sure

Just a delicious meal! What a treat and it came so quick and so warm. They really slayed with this food. It was so tasty so good. I would definitely get again from the golden bowl

I ordered a chicken curry with fried rice. There was a little issue with my order and I was so surprised to be treated with kindness and urgency! They really care about making sure you’re enjoying your meal. Something I find is few and far between with restaurants these days. Thanks so much to the staff I talked to on the phone, the lovely driver that delivered my meal and the chef that cooked it. Appreciate the help and speed of the fix! Awesome service

Ordered pork filet with chips and the pork was fatty and tough and the chips were hard and inedible . Even the dog turned his nose up and walked away and he normally eats anything . If you want decent food do not order from here

Normally this take away was great used at least once a week. On this visit we got a noodle box Salt chilli chicken chips and curry half and half. Only thing we could eat was curry half & half. Terrible food young guy serving was scruffy . Place definitely has changed. Never again. Absolute shame how this has happened

This is the best Chinese takeaway I've ever had. I mean the food is soo good, amazing stuff. The staff are friendly but it's very busy. Probably because it's so good.

Lovely beef curry and honey chilli chicken

Absolutely pathetic. Ordered a mixed grill got 2 sausages half a slice of bacon half a pork chop an few bits of liver. Worst Chinese I have ever had. Will never be back

Disgusting,cold and found a dead fly in my curry

Called just after 9pm Tuesday evening, ordered a special fried rice and chicken balls, won't be back. The fried rice was terrible, the worst we have ever had and the chicken balls were fried nearly to a crisp, we had to take the batter of them it was that bad. Will not be back.

PLEASE DO NOT ORDER VIA TELEPHONE!! The incompetence of the male staff member who works on a Sunday night is incomprehensible! Basic listening and taking off orders is non existent. If you like a surprise then roll the dice. The order will be wrong, late or both and might not even come at all. I’m all for equal opportunities and employment laws but the lad who works there should stick to eating crayons! Every single time he lacks the competence to take the order correctly and the address. I really feel sorry for the delivery drivers. Seriously Golden Bowl proprietor or should I say dial a disaster, train your staff or hire competent staff. I’ve had better luck on wheel of fortune and I’ve never been on that game show either!!

Absolutely worst service ever. Have ordered here loads before but never again. Ordered at 6:30pm this evening for delivery at 7:40pm for a birthday dinner. Failed to turn up and only arrived at 8:40pm. Ordered 1/2 duck at £14 but received a tiny tub. Turns out it looks like they forgot about my order and only when we rang to check up on it they printed it out at 8:11pm which was stuck over first docket for 1/4 duck. So forgot order and gave wrong items. Food was not even nice and birthday dinner ruined as waited 2 hours 15 minutes.

I have had food from here before which was grand nothing special but ok.I ordered tonight as my usual place was closed and didnt want to cook after a busy day at work.I couldnt be more disappointed ,firstly had to wait 1 hour for delivery .The chicken and ham fried rice was so overcooked and so dry and hard it gave me indigestion.My partner ordered a curry chip just because i was ordering and it was so soggy and the chips such poor quality badly cooked frozen chips, with not a crisp chip in sight.He threw them in the bin! will never be back .Total Waste of money and a horrible experience .Very poor all round.

WORST SERVICR EVER.2 hours waiting for delivery.When I rang to enquire about my delivery they told me they had lost my order and made it out it was my fault.Really cheeky.And not once apologised.

El sol dorado es sin duda mi favorito. La frescura de sus alimentos y el pollo real es la razón por la que vamos. Recientemente se mudó y todavía toma el viaje aquí. El curry es el prefecto perfecto de las especias y las patatas fritas (no grasoso). Sigue haciendo lo que estás haciendo chicos. Tengo un baile feliz cada vez que consigo comida de aquí. Would not waste your time on this restaurant. Waited over two hours, multiple phone calls, only to be laughed at and told they are cancelling the order.

What scumbags put a battery in a Chinese when they get a complaint

Always get fantastic food here - large portions, not greasy and tastes great. Proper Chinese takeaway, not an imitation. Also always have my food ready for collection 10 minutes after ordering. Particularly recommend the wonderful duck curry.

Got given a burnt meal. Phoned as soon as I got home and the staff member assured me that it was the way it was supposed to be. I have had this meal many times and it does not come burnt. Staff refused to help me on the matter. Poor quality and care in food and the staff don't care

Good food but delivery can take over a hour and a half

Whilst everyone has their favourite takeaway, I must tell you about this little gem. Food is great, service fast and efficient (esp if u phone your order in first) and the staff are very friendly. Top thing to go for is the Honey Chilli Chicken with fried rice of course. Plenty of parking outside. Unfortunately, it's only a carryout and not a sit-in restaurant.

The people are always nice and helpful. The food is lovely and is generally ready fast, which is awesome when your hungry 😊

get from here every week if not more than once a week! food is amazing and cooked to perfection! food was warm and after asking for no veg it was ensured there was none. Delivery driver is friendly and polite as are the staff on the phone. will 100% be ordering from here again and could not recommend this place enough

Actually can't believe ur driver refused to deliver to the bottom off the braniel estate! I know there is other drivers who definitely would! Terrible service from a chinese ten minutes away!!

ordered food at 7.30 and it didn’t come til 9.40pm. phoned the restaurant and the girl was quite rude and just said well it’s busy. 30mins was added onto my delivery time and it was still another 30mins before it came. and the food was cold on delivery

The spring rolls are the best I’ve ever had! And the honey chilli chicken is amazing!!

I ordered this for my mum and daughter as a treat as when I got before it was beautiful and generous portions and it came well presented and warm and nothing was missing. When my mum and daughter got it last night there was no rice,or Noddles. It was all just threw in to the box and it was so soggy that when they opened the box the llid just fell off in my daughter's hand. My mum had rang to see where the delivery was and was told that they rejected the order as they were too busy but I received an email to say that they accepted it and it would be delivered at 6.15. The curry sauce had been sitting so long that oil had rose to the top and started leaking through the lid. I usually have a beautiful meal from here but after last night I would be hesitant to order again.

Absolutely perfect food and the quick delivery meant we enjoyed it sooner after a long day

Low restaurant service rating is because they use Styrofoam takeaway containers rather than plastic.

Using Golden Sun for 10 years. Never had a complaint until 2 months ago when the salted chilli chicken (my usual fav that I recommend to everyone!) was over cooked and ham fried rice another fav was stodgy and disgusting. I complained. The food was collected. I was refunded. But the complaint experience wasn’t nice due to the vile attitude of the manager. Put it down to a one off avoided for a while and then reordered recently to be met with the same issue. When I asked for some soy sauce - I was told they don’t have sachets and wouldn’t even put a little bit in a tub, i’d have to order and pay for it. Soy sauce! What is it a pound for a giant bottle in shops? Most takeaways give you sachets for free! Rang to complain anout good & the apparent owner had to be one of the rudest most arrogant individuals I’ve ever had the misfortune to speak to. He LAUGHED at me on the phone. Remembered I’d complained about the same thing a few months previous! don’t even know why this was mentioned other than like goodness this has been complained about twice but he basically accused me of complaining for a reason. What reason as they actually come to take the food away before giving a refund so it was hardly to get the food for free. When I said about being a loyal customer he was rude. Obnoxious. Borderline nasty. And when I don’t think you are meant to argue with your customers his response was - only the ones who complain. Really? Will never order from this place again and will be telling all to avoid as well. And not because of the food, but because of the way I was treated as a customer.

Half an hour late, food was cold and staff on the phone said it had left when we live 5 minutes away it was still a further 30 minutes.

Ordered a 2 half & halves with chicken balls had to order a tub of sauce separate for some reason. Order was wrong on arrival both half & halves were missing fried rice. Disappointed as order was delivered at 9 o'clock at night & wasn't arsed ringing restaurant because didn't want to wait another 45 minutes for them to fix it.

Far superior to any other I’ve tried. The food was excellent quality well cooked and very tasty. It was my first order from golden sun and now it’s my new favourite. Well done golden sun :)

The nicest Chinese in East Belfast proper meat not this cheap dirt most Chinese restaurants give you. And delivery super fast. I wouldn't order from any other Chinese. 5 stars.

Lovely food! Good size portions! The one thing I would say is that there wasn't much sauce in my food..that's not a major thing, I just like lots of sauce! :)

Asked for the chips to be crispy when I pulled them from the bag, it all ripped apart due to the wetness of them sitting in the bag for so long. Also waited well over the waiting time they suggested, half an hour over. Rang the shop they said it was just leaving then took another 20 minutes to get here.

Quick delivery service from the time I ordered which is a busy time, work hard to make sure customers get their food on time..... Food was excellent as always and very tasty..... Best Chinise in East Belfast by far in my opinion... Staff also very friendly Chloe

despite the meal arriving late, it was warm and delicious. would give them another try simply because the food was that good and the delivery driver could be no more apologetic for the lateness of getting my food here.

food used to be lovely here but going down hill... used to do the best salt and chilli chips but now they’re the tasteless. also hour and half delivery is a joke you should get more drivers or just decline the order if you can’t handle demand... don’t order from here unless you want disappointment

I would normally order from here when getting a Chinese, but after ordering one today I won't be getting from here anymore. It told me the food would be with me at 9.20pm which was still long enough (for a Tuesday night) but I was ok to wait, then 9.45 came so I rang to check the whereabouts of my delivery and it hadn't even left yet! I just cancelled the order in the end. Big let down.

The food was disgusting. I ordered dry chicken chow mein. It consisted of noodles which were dry and chicken which was even drier. Nothing else no vegetables or beansprouts. I could have had a better meal if I cooked it myself. I will never order from here again

Ordered at 6 and told it would arrive at 7 but didn’t arrive until 7.25, was told delivery was only going to be delayed by 5 minutes. Ordered a mushroom omelette that states that it comes with gravy but no gravy arrived. Also paid extra for a tub of sweet and sour sauce and this also didn’t arrive. So no sauce at all

Food was late and cold, called the takeaway and the guy who answered was not great help, said it's left shop and will be 10/15 mins... I live 1.6 miles away... he also didn't even apologise. Won't order from here again, first time and will be my last... just thought I would try them out... Won't happen again

Wasn’t very nice. Chicken was hard, prawn crackers were also yellow which is disgusting. And chicken and chips were cold.

if you are ordering from here you would be better ordering it for collection as I was waiting 2 1/2 hours from the time we ordered to the time it arrived by which time my 9 year old son was complaining of hunger and when it did arrive there were things missing from the order. not using here again.

We're do I start food was 30 mins late the satay sauce was like water full off vegetables and very little chicken when I did get it the bottle off coke was in the bag next too the chips which meant my chips where cold my first and last time using this shop terrible way of running a business I'm raging that I let myself hand over my money for this food take a look at urselffs in that shop ..

1st time ordering from here. from time of ordering to delivery it took 1hr 35minutes for 2 orders!! the fried rice was lukewarm and stodgy. chicken balls were over cooked. the sweet & sour Cantonese was mediocre and it was late by circa 15 minutes. rang restaurant after 10 past delivery time and was advised driver only left 5 mins previously.

Food is lovely, good vegetarian options, but delivery time was shocking. Ordered at about 6:20, and restaurant added 20 mins to delivery time, so was supposed to arrive at 7:30. Ended up having to phone them and chase it up at 8, and our order wasn't even out of the restaurant yet, but they apologised and promised they'd put it in their next delivery. Eventually got our food about 2 hours after ordering. Also, there was a noodle in our fried rice, so they obviously need to wash their pans more thoroughly. Apart from that, lovely meal lol

Late delivery. 45-60 min waiting time and for took 1 hour 40 mins. Rang restaurant 4 times and man was very rude staying they were very busy and it would get here asap. Food arrived cold and then the delivery girl had the cheek to ask for £1 at the door despite us already paying additional delivery cost. Definitely not worth it.

Excellent Singapore Chow Mein and salted chilli squid and prawn- will definitely be ordering again. Curry sauce was a bit on the bland side, but that's the only criticism I can give.
