Lovely food, staff are very friendly. Always love the food from here. Delicious, piping hot and great portions! Wish they would start accepting card transactions but there is an ATM across the road so not much of a drama.

We've had meals from here twice in our weeks holiday. We found the food to be excellent quality, fresh vegetables, lean tender meat, very well put together dishes. The chips were just how Chinese chips should be, crispy and soft in the middle!!

We went there today. Cash only. The food was crap. We had the set meal for 2 . The chicken & char with mushrooms chicken was horrible and rubbery.. the beef was fatty and tuff . The sweet &sour pork was to sweet the pork had no flavour. The beef chop Sue’s was watery and the beef was tuff . Yang chow fried rice had spam not pork . We put it in the dustbin. Disgusting. Waste of money £32.90 and the chip wasn’t nice that why I am giving this score.

Had 2 take aways and both were excellent. A little pricey from what we're used to but worth it!! My wife recommends the chicken chow mein!

Visited here on recommendation from our Air BnB host and was pretty pleased that we gave it a go. Whilst the salt & pepper spare ribs were a little tough, they were tasty and a decent warm up for the main events of shredded beef in spicy sweet & sour chilli sauce for me and chicken & mushroom curry for my partner and both of which were very good. The boiled rice, egg fried rice and prawn crackers were tasty too. In the current environment all orders have to be phoned in - we hadn't done that in advance, but did so from outside the shop on arrival and the owner was happy to accomodate us on what was obviously a busy night for him, subject to a 45 minute wait.

One of the worst eating experiences ever. The prawn crackers were lovely, which is ironic as they were free. 3 of us ordered. We had House Chow Mein (not recommended), Pork Balls with fried rice and sweet and sour sauce (not recommended) and King Prawn Egg Foo Yung was apparently OK. I would never go back.

The food here was exquisite. Nice directions on your website, price really matched the quality of the food. Not only was the food incredible, but on the phone I spoke to an extraordinarily polite young boy. I recommend the Golden Lotus, really made my summer.

Served quickly food cooked fresh. All our meals were lovely but chips weren't the best. Singapore noodles especially nice.

Walked in slightly before opening time and ordered 3 meals plus chips for young lad. Took our order politely, whilst obviously getting busy and one of our party couldn’t make their mind up. Took food home, all still piping hot, all correct and all went down great. Would definitely revisit.

Ordered various meals for 11 people probably 6 were what we actually ordered and they were terrible, the 5 containers of ribs had to be thrown out as did most of the other meals what a waste of food but we could just not eat it, prawn crackers were very good to be fair

Bought three dishes from this take away, food had unpleasant taste to it and was not an enjoyable experience all dishes were also overly salted, had nightmares and dehydration all night, this is the third meal I've had which was like this. I will never eat from here again.

We were staying in the local area and fancied a take away and we was happy there was a Chinese (my favourite takeaway)! The food did not disappoint and was yummy! If we stay in the area again we will probably have another take away from here!

Excellent food. Duck ku po and Singapore prawns Chow Mein and large Spring roll. All lovely. Very friendly service. We will definitely return next time on holiday.

Good quality food available at reasonable prices. Not a resteraunt but a carry out. The double doors allow wheelchair acess but one of the doors is not often open but it can be. Orders also taken over the phone.

Had a really nice meal here on Sunday night. The starters were very tasty, very hot, we enjoyed the whole meal, would go back for more.

The food is not particularly tasty, it was quite unpleasant and left a funny sensation and aftertaste in the mouth. Very disappointed. It would be overpriced if it was good, it is very overpriced at this quality.

We are in a cottage for half term and we decided to have a Chinese. Food was very good and was hot when we got home. Very nice and we enjoyed our meal.

En la última noche de nuestro Lake District vacaciones, decidimos comer comida china. La calidad de la comida era mala, la carne no era lo suficientemente cocidos, y un par de horas más tarde, empezó a nuestro estómago dolor ... Yo prefiero no decir lo pasamos la noche. Nunca más!

Pedimos pareja arroz frito la comida que tenía un montón de carne pero era muy salada con demasiada salsa de soja. Mi esposo pidió carne de chili que venía en una salsa dulce y amarga chili. Dicho diferente, pero él estaba buenísimo. Mini rollitos de primavera eran pobres pero bueno y gambas de patatas fritas galletas saladas bien. Volvería pero quizás algo más.

Was told by locals this was the best option for a Chinese takeaway whilst staying in nearby haverigg, and apart from the sauces being a little too salty for our liking ( we try to avoid a lot of salt though) it was a quick and efficient service. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the egg fried rice is delicious

Sometimes the food is good, but other days you can order your usual and it will be awful. Wait can be a bit long at times as well.

food was good. You need to ring and order your meal prior to collecting it. Takes along time. Sadly they dont deliver

Better than any of the other take aways in town. I get one every sunday on my way home from work. Nice easy always ready for the time I ask.

We had a really nice meal from here. Great value for money. Warm with loads of flavour. Slightly more costly but well worth it. Tried to go again but sadly they'd gone on holiday.

Decided to have a Chinese take away on our last night in The Lake District. I ordered an 81 beef with pineapple & 117 sweet & sour pork with fried rice. The beef was Ok, the rice dreadful & the sweet & sour turned out to be an omelette. There was plenty of it & reasonible priced, I won't be back.

Golden Lotus used to be OK food (but had very frustrating waiting times) until it changed hands a few years ago...It was awful immediately after it changed hands and has never got better. One to avoid which is a shame.

Turned up at 5.30 on a Saturday evening NO ONE in the place and gave my order to a very nice lady. A young Chinese lad said it would take an hour even though I was the only person in, because they had so many telephone orders,we declined and left. Would Sugest this is not a good way to treat customers who just turn up,after all it's supposed to be takeaway.

The take away that we have was ok but my Husband ordered egg foo young and unfortunetly it came with peas in it which he is allergic to so he was unable to eat it - not had peas in it before so a lesson learnt to ask in future ! Wait time was an Hour as they seemed more interested in takingorders over the phone than the people in the shop waiting !
