Golden City in Conwy

Very dissappointed with takeaway food from here. Obviously heated up from last night. Meat was tough and overall unpleasant as been double/triple fried. Shame as it was a good takeaway in the past. I don't feel as if they care what they give customers. It was awful, definitely not freshly prepared.

I've been coming here for the last few months occasionally. I only come here for the salt and pepper box ... it is absolutely delicious and I can't recommend it enough. Most Chinese takeaways do their own version of this box but Golden City's is far better- the quality of the food is greater as everything just looks and tastes fresh. Try it. Just be sure to drink plenty of water after!

6 different takeaways everyone good! Well worth travelling from Penmaenmawr for far superior food. We ordered the same meals from both places to make a fair comparison and they beat Penmaenmawr easily

Gutted, the food tastes lovely but the last takeaway I had I found a long thick black hair in my chips. I had heard from someone before they had found hair in their food before from here but because it was a few years ago I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunatley this is enough to put me off from being able to order from here again.

I've been going here for years and its always been fantastic. I can't say that about any other Chinese in the area. Beef curry or beef in OK sauce is highly recommended. Staff are very helpful and will put in or take out anything you request. Vegetarian dishes are also top class.

Never had a bad meal .Great food staff always friendly .trying hard to keep people safe in this strange time .call and order before arriving always helps x

Been coming to this Chinese take away for almost 20 years and always happy with the service and food. Recently tried the salt and pepper box and was not disappointed.

We've been coming here for years. Never been disappointed. Tried some others during lock down whilst golden city was closed, but they were not as nice. Staff always friendly. Very efficient. Don't understand any negative reviews, we've never had any problems

When ever I get food from here it makes me and my friends ill I do not recommend going here as the food is expensive for what it is

Ordered chips and sweet and sour chicken balls and a curry , the chips were rock hard and the chicken balls were burnt . Don't waste your money 😡😡

This has got to be one of the worst Chinese takeaways I have ever had! I ordered as I finished work late starving wish I had never bothered now! Went to pick it up nice staff behind the counter very friendly bag of food nice and heavy looks clean and tidy in there got it home and the stench of the chips just nearly knocked me out and I hadn’t even tried one yet. The chicken batter balls were burnt to a crisp you couldn’t actually cut through them with a knife! They were rock solid. Chips tasted of old fat and they were all soggy and the sweet and sour sauce was thick and lumpy. Safe to say I didn’t finish the meal nor will I ever go back!

Great takeaway with fast service. Very tasty too. Something for everyone on the menu. Standard takeaway prices. Well worth a visit.

We knew it would be a challenge finding dinner a bit late (after 6pm) on a Sunday - Golden City came through with flying colors! Five of us found great menu items to order and walked away with generous portions, plus once they realized the five of us were together (we had walked in separately, in three sets), we were given a massive bag of prawn crackers to go with everything. Very friendly service, great choices for food, quickly served and reasonably priced. Nowhere to eat onsite, but we had already expected to take the food back to our lodging, so that was not a problem. Recommended!

I order food from Golden City at least once every month and I have never been disappointed. Always spot on with the taste and condiments!

Tried previously and enjoyed from what I remember. Unfortunately this time its not for us. Didnt enjoy this time quite disappointed.

Lovely food, huge portions so think about sharing, chips are nice and not greasy. Best Chinese take away in junction

Always excellent food, succulent and tasty. Busy early Friday and Saturday evenings which is a testament to the quality of the food. Always a great welcome from the cheerful young lady behind the counter. Phone your order in if you don't want to wait. Average waiting time 5 to 15 minutes depending on how busy they are. My favorite take away. Huge portions make this really good value for money.

When visiting Llandudno junction I stopped here for a takeaway treat for the family and it was lovely. Food was well cooked with generous portions at a very decent price. Will definitely eat from here again! Highly reccomend the salt and pepper shredded chicken and the spare ribs will melt in your mouth.

Good food and not a bad price... place your order by phone and pick in 10 mins.. quick service. and freindly staff

Having not ordered takeaway from here for a long time we decided to give it another try. The service was friendly and the wait for our food was short. The food was delicious, generous portions and hot. Will definitely order again. Impressed.

Been using this place for nearly 30 years now, with old owners and new. It's always been great. Most recently, the food is prepared quickly, its fresh, hot, tasty and excellent value. Would recommend!

Ordered a takeaway whilst on holiday in nearby Conwy. Took approximately 30 mins to be prepared and we collected. Food was fresh, hot an portions were large. Will definitely order again when we come this way again.

Delicious. No complaints! We use here quite frequently and have never had any problems. They take phone orders so you can ring through your order and pick it up when you are ready.

thought we would try this chinese takeaway for the first time i could only say that i wont be goin back ever again the food was so terrible very salty more veg than meat overrun with onions i wouldnt even give it to my dog if i had one

nice fried rice and sweet n sour chicken. Generous portions but the price does not genreally include chips or rice, making it quite expensive overall

This is our first-choice Chinese takeaway when in Wales. Really quick service and normally very good food.Maybe it was the dish I chose but my last meal from here wasn't as good quality as I've had previously. Everyone else's meals were fine though so perhaps I was just unlucky. I'll give them another try!

We thought we would have a Chinese to celebrate Chinese new year. We were not disappointed. Everything was very tasty. We really enjoyed it!

Haven't been here for a while as didn't enjoy on previous vusit. However on this occassion everything was really good. Very tasty and good portions, we were unable to finish!Will use as my "local" now, reasonably price too.

Always used to go to Kwong Chow but when that started going down hill - I luckily found this place. It's absolutely fantastic. The service is great - I never phone an order through because its ready within 10 minutes. The dishes are all fully packed with quality ingredients - the beef curry is superb. Its a family favourite if theirs a birthday or whatever. They're also happy to make up whatever dish you like. Top class, great value. Can't believe its not rated higher.

Have ate from here a few times and food has always been hot and very tasty.enjoyed the chicken curry with a portion of rice, also the prawn toast is nice as a starter/ side dish. Bbq ribs are tasty and always quite a bit of meat on too.

We don't have too many takeaways but when we do we usually go to Golden City. I had a special fried rice yesterday which was tasty and with plenty of chicken, char sui, ham and prawns mixed in. It could perhaps have done with a bit more egg for me but that's just a matter of taste. My wife had a special chow mein which was equally as enjoyable. As we were sharing with the kids we also got a portion of chips, a tub of curry and some spare ribs. The chips and curry were very good and generous portions but I was informed that the ribs were a little salty (I didn't try for myself as I have a bit of a "phobia" about eating anything with a bone in it!). It may not be earth shattering food but the quality is reliable enough to stick with them despite other places being more conveniently located.

There is nothing much to say about this except it was ok, we had a selectionof meals between us but wasn't that fussed don't think we'll return though

Food is great.My first time back in the UK in 8 years.I visit my old favorite place to eat.This one..I pay for my food and it wait 10 minutes then i am handed my food.I walk out the door and then a customer calls me back in.. OH THE GIRL behind the counter wants to talk to you.I go back in and the girl then spends 5 minutes accusing me of being a thief, and trying to walk out without paying for my food.I explained 4 times i did pay..NO YOU DIDNT PAY!! she then proceeded to ask me if i did pay how much did i pay? i told her... she then said OH what was your order? i explained... oh sorry my mistake i gave you the wrong food... so having spent 5 minutes humiliating me in public, telling me i had tried to walk out without paying she then played it off as no big deal, its my fault i do this all the time.Awful Awful experience, great food.Alas great food i will never taste again.I would never go back ever again.

After eating a meal from here The whole household was sick. Money refunded after complained but children's bank Hol weekend ruined.

This is the best Junction Chinese bar non. Very tasty food, always piping hot and ready quickly. Used to go to Jade Garden but that place is pants now! King prawn curry is awesome. Go there you won't be dissapointed.

Gave it a try a few times last year (2012) a friend recommended it or would never of found it - well hid down side street, it just reminded me in many ways looks/staff/service/food of the sort of chinese takeaways we had as kids back in the eighties - had a few different meals and all the enjoyable would go much more but just too far for takeaways so a rare visit when passing.still beats all the ones in the Bay/west end so is worth going for decent takeaway.

Have to say had about four or five takeaways now from here and they are consistently good. Unlike their nearby rivals. Every meal is fresh and hot and tastyI won't go anywhere else long as they continue like this
