Gallo D'Oro Hadleigh in Castle Point

This a really friendly restaurant and the food is really amazing full of flavour.

A family do remembering venerable Hadleigh residents of 60 years, Ray and Pat Russell. The restaurant appears to have been recently redecorated, so nice surroundings. The menu was quite broad - something for everyone. I really enjoyed my Pollo Gallo D'Oro and my brother in law was very happy with his sea bass. The chocolate sauce on my profiteroles was delicious. The timing between courses was just right for a social Sunday lunch. I look forward to another visit.

A very disappointing meal. Staff were not very friendly, the soup was barely warm and the chicken was raw and had to be sent back. It wasn’t a very busy Friday evening so unsure why it was so poor. Honestly it was a massive waste of £80 To summarise, it’s not what you would expect from an Italian restaurant, and we certainly won’t be returning which is a shame as we are local

It was O.K. the portion size is good, the food was nice, but the middle of my (and two other guests) lasagna was very tough, as if it had been in the microwave too long. Service was slow too.

Went to this restaurant for my partners birthday, it was pretty quiet for sat eve, and there were obviously locaks eating there. The food was excellent and plenty of it. I had surf and turf and my partner had pizza. We both also had starters. The steak was very good, and pizza too. Very pleasant evening. Would go back again, well worth a visit.

What a lovely restaurant. This was our first visit. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There were 6 people in our group. We all enjoyed a Sunday roast followed by delicious desserts. We'll be back! Thanks.

Best Italian, food fantastic and service highly recommend

Rang and booked but on arrival was told it was closed for a private party. We were seated though, but the large group were SO noisy. Not a good evening for a quiet meal. Who ever took booking should have said they were closed as it has put me off ever going again.

Came here a few weeks back and kept meaning to pop a review up. Absolutely delicious food!!! Tasted fresh and cooked to perfection. Staff were brilliant and service was top notch! Will be heading back very soon. Pricing is fair, decent portion size and the tiramisu was *chef kiss* best food I’ve had for some time!

Food was of high quality and presented lovely but some of the meals were quite small portions sadly. When you are paying a reasonable amount of money for a dish you expect it to be a satisfying amount. I'm not a big eater but felt that the king prawn linguine could have had more pasta in the dish. It was a little sparse. This will not stop me from visiting here again but, I just wanted to give constructive feedback.

We regularly eat at this restaurant as the food is delicious, plentiful, and so much choice on the menu. The staff are attentive and friendly and always have our favourite table ready for us. Thank you. It's great value for money too. See you next week.

Came here last night for my mother in laws birthday.I like the people who work there but think they are understaffed.To start off they brought out the wrong drink,then brought out the wrong starters.I had the pate for starters and it was swimming in liquid,most bizarre.Then my wifes main meal.the risotto was cold.Then they brought me out a peroni which i didnt order.My main meal which was the pasta with chicken and rocket was ok.When the bill came out that was wrong as well.Like i said earlier maybe more staff is needed.Sorry wouldnt rush back because not as good as it was 4 years ago

Wide variety of dishes on offer so something for everyone. Food is fresher cooked and hot, our party of twelve were all served at the same time with piping hot dishes.

A large group of us visited for Christmas lunch. The turkey dinner was all frozen food; it wasn't very pleasant to say the least. Those who had steak couldn't cut it. One person serving so people on the sane tablenot eatingstbthe sane time.. Ultimately, we paid £38.50 for a bread roll, a dessert and a coffee. Disgusting.

We recently visited this "Italian" restaurant but we weren't impressed. For a start, the staff and chef aren't Italian 🤨. They were polite and helpful, but we felt it lost its authenticity & the food was very average and not that hot when served. It was hugely expensive for 2 of us with only 3 drinks of Coke (no alcohol), our bill was just over £100! For the quality, it just shouldn't have been that much money. Another sign of a good restaurant is the amount of other customers, there was only 1 other couple which just about sums it up. We won't be returning and sadly this isn't a restaurant we'd recommend 😕👎.

Lovely service, delicious food and refined and quiet atmosphere. The food here is lovely and there is a variety of different dish types including pizza, pasta, steak, fish and more, with calamari on the starters list! The drinks menu is also extensive. Service was brilliant and no complaints at all for the decor and atmosphere.

The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and is warm and inviting. The lady and gentleman who work there are friendly and attentive. There's so much choice on the menu. Something for everyone. The fillet steak is a must. Its huge and cooked to perfection. They certainly don't scrimp on portion sizes. It's great value too. We've already booked our next few visits

A lovely, family friendly Italian restaurant. We've been here on a handful of occasions and always have good food with friendly service. The staff are great with the kids and are always happy, smiling and fun.

Went to Gallo D’Oro for the first time despite having lived nearby for years. Gutted that we’ve left it so long as it was amazing all round. Really friendly and helpful staff, gorgeous gorgeous food, especially the mushroom bruschetta which was a different level :) Will be returning very soon - highly recommended

Thank you to all the management and staff at Gallo D'oro for making my 80th birthday celebration one to remember. They were friendly and helpful, even setting up balloons, cake etc... we filled the large area of the restaurant as there were 34 family and friends celebrating. We arranged for a singer/guitarist to entertain us all evening and there was no end time limit. All our guests enjoyed their meal, which was yummy, freshly cooked and served hot. A great evening, well done so thank you Lewis and staff.

Such a rare pleasure nowadays to receive attentive, caring customer service from the moment you walk in the door in a restaurant. The table was laid nicely and table service was very good. I was reminded of times when that kind of service was the norm. The menu was lovely and varied and they offer a wide selection of wines as well as cocktails. It was a special family get together and we all thoroughly enjoyed our food and the ambience. As a lover of seafood, I opted for fresh mussels as a starter which were absolutely delicious! Followed by seafood linguine. I could not resist a naughty Panna Cotta, and an Expresso Martini…..yummy! A really lovely traditional Italian restaurant… freshly cooked food. We were seated in a secluded area in a square facing each other which was ideal. The staff were friendly and we were seen to very quickly and efficiently and orders taken from a very good and varied menu. The food itself was very, very good and everybody really enjoyed their choice of meal. A great evening and we will certainly be using this restaurant again

Disappointing visit to this previously lovely Italian. Flavourless food and cheap ingredients overcooked and badly presented. Was stuffy airless and too hot. Service adequate. A shame as we assumed would be good as Italian family run. Will not be returning

Booked here for a Sunday Lunch today. Range of food and quality was excellent, and service also excellent. Recommend the steak Diane, mussels, skate, pork roast and seabass. A gem of a restaurant, looking forwards to returning.

Been in twice lately, great food and has enough custom for the friendly atmosphere to really work. The staff always make you welcome, and are attentive without being overbearing.

Popped in for an early evening meal with friend and had a very enjoyable experience. Excellent ,tasty food with attentive service and not too pricey! My previous visit earlier in the year wasn't so good so wasn't to keen to visit again. However things have changed for the better, certainly in the kitchen, well done chef and Gallo, certainly be back in the new year!

My wife and I attended with 16 friends. The atmosphere was relaxed, the staff very friendly and the service was very efficient. The food was extremely tasty and hot and the porhtions generous. Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed their meal.

The food at this restaurant is consistently good, there is a very reasonably priced set menu on a Sunday but we went for the specials. The monkfish was delicious, will definitely be back.
