Gallico Lounge in Lancaster

Recently went for breakfast after we stayed over for the night in Lancaster. Lovely staff very helpful surrounding allergies. Love that it is a nut free kitchen. Huge range of choice. I don’t know whether this is maybe why the quality of the food differs… I went for the breakfast muffin which was delicious. My boyfriend went for a burger. It arrived with half the items missing. I felt it did take a while for the food to come out. Wasn’t overly busy at this time. Looking at the size and the quality / taste of the burger it was not worth the £20 we spent. He also bought a side of mac and cheese for £5 and it was a tiny portion. Cokes were also flat unfortunately. There is a water station however glasses are tiny. So, you’d need to keep going up and filling them. I feel a jug for the table would be more appropriate. The scenery is lovely. I just feel that maybe a smaller menu will allow them to focus on what they do best! My boyfriend and I said we would come back but maybe stick to the breakfast items! The full English looked spectacular.

Halloumi used to be good, now it is bad :(

Lovely tasty food, lovely setting But, ordered a chicken burger and when it came it was basically 2 small chicken goujons!!! Not a burger in my eyes. Don't get me wrong, it was very tasty and enjoyable but felt a bit robbed of actual chicken

Very accommodating and good atmosphere

Had a great experience at Gallico Lounge, Lancaster We were at Table 4, and everything from the service to the atmosphere was spot on. The staff were friendly and attentive, creating a relaxed and welcoming vibe from the moment we walked in. I ordered the Lounge Burger with a side of onion rings, and it absolutely hit the spot. The burger was juicy, packed with flavour, and cooked to perfection. The onion rings were crispy, golden, and made the perfect side honestly some of the best I’ve had in a while. The place has a really cool, quirky charm with a cosy feel, making it a great spot for a casual meal or drinks with mates. Can definitely recommend, and Table 4 gave us a lovely view of the lounge too. Will definitely be back

Good quick service even though we were told 30 min wait our order came within 20 mins. Our food was delicious. I had the smashed avocado brunch which was devine. I would definitely recommend and can’t wait to go back. Fantastic atmosphere and friendly staff.

Our first time and will be going back. Had the soup and it was delicious. The service was spot on too. Lovely and nice warm on a cold day.

It’s a little bit expensive for what it is, but the food is good. Also I ordered a chicken sandwich and one side was kind of empty

Very busy hot chocolate was nice. However, the tea cup was dirty and replaced with a cracked cup, not good, and as it was busy, we couldn't get it changed. Lemon cake was nice

Unable to provide a high chair or even attempt to get one, can see unused chairs at other tables. 45 minute wait for food didnt impress either. It's rude to start clearing a table and take away your drink when you haven't even finished it. Avoid.

My 2nd visit to one of the Lounge chain. Our kids enjoyed the Vegan menu but my Bang Bang chicken main only had 2 strips of chicken. Only when I saw my main, I remembered I'd had the same at another Lounge and left a similar review.

Inconsistent. It's mostly the temperature of the food that's the problem. It's either piping hot and fantastic, or luke warm and very disappointing. Today, the staff blatantly needed a break. No one was happy. This is the 1st time I've not tipped. Bread wasn't soft and tasty like normal. I think they usually warm it. During the customer check, I mentioned the tapas wasn't hot, but he was too busy walking away to listen. It really is a 50/50 chance of a great meal or disappointment. Shame, because it is always tasty.

Popped in for lunch one day. Very impressed by the vegan menu and attentive service.

If you enjoy a soulless chain restaurant with zero interaction with staff and no table service then you might like this place. I wouldn't go near the place a second time. There's no interaction with the staff they don't come and ask if you want more drinks, they don't ask if you're enjoying the food. Most of our food was luke warm. There's many better places, with a much better atmosphere than this in Lancaster

We met here to celebrate with friends, there was eleven of us in total. We ordered our food in groups of four separately but at the same time. The food took ages to start arriving and the ones that did were cooked terribly, burnt burgers and steak, a chicken burger without a bun! My wife and I waited for ages for our food after everyone else had received theirs and when we enquired it turned up about 10 minutes later. The poor duty manager could not apologise enough and explained that they were short of staff. We had pre booked for 12 people and another table had also pre booked for about 10 so the venue knew that they were expecting at least 22 people to eat without any one else. Very poor service and it actually spoiled our day!

Very poor food and service after our meal last night. Waited for 2 hours for our main course to arrive. When it did arrive it was tasteless. My chicken was overcooked. Staff not very helpful and refused to give any money off for the meal. Said they did not have a discount button on the till! Offered us a free drink but by that stage we were all fed up. We even skipped our pudding course as we had waited that long. Won’t be going back again for sure! 😡😡

Gallico lounge on visit really says it all If it's for a family meal or even just a coffee-chat The all-experience is the same, friendly atmosphere, Great service. So relaxing

We came here whilst in Lancaster for a spot of lunch. Highly recommend. Nice friendly service and atmosphere, good chilled vibes. We ordered a chicken flatbread and a Korean burger. Both were delicious and good sized portions. Would recommend.

Very relaxing environment with good food and friendly staff. Made a get together with friends even more enjoyable.

The food was decent, nothing special but good. Yet the day we visited the place was chaos… half of the menu was not available and we waited forever for the limited food to appear. The kitchen was in chaos from what we could hear.

We called in for our favourite soup of the day which was tomato and veg. The soup was warm not it's usual popping hot but the cafe is very busy today. The servers were as usual excellent attentive prompt helpful. With the music turned down the atmosphere was relaxed and chatty

Poor phone signal and too much information required to use their WiFi. Had issues with the mobile menu ordering only to find out at the very end that my galaxy fold phone was considered a tablet so the whole thing would not complete. Ordering for 6 people then meant going up to the bar and ordering manually. Sigh... When the food arrived it was quite nice but nothing to write home about.

Went on a Tuesday night - it was quite quiet. Nice atmosphere and comfy seating but we went to order food and so much of the menu was out of stock we ended up just having a drink and moving on.

Really enjoyed our evening at Gallico Lounge.

Comfy atmosphere, good selection of drinks and enjoyed the food. Some of the food choices weren't available but the salad I ordered was lovely. It was good that you could just go and sit where you wanted, although a lot of people seemed to wait to be seated. Internet was quite bad in here, but as soon as you connect to their WiFi, you can order from your phone.

Good overall. I ordered steak frites and it was nicely served. We were quickly accommodated to our table and the waiters were neutral and polite. The restaurant was very cozy and had lots of decorations hung on the wall. To order the food it is necessary to scan the QR code at the table and select the dishes. The payment will be done by card and then the selected dishes will be brought in by the waiters. The waiting time for the food to be served was about 30 minutes, but the fact that it was a Saturday night needs to be considered. The Steak Frites was 20.50 pounds and how you wanted it to be cooked can be selected while ordering it.

It's a verso lounge, good food, excellent service.

Just sat here waiting for our food, it sat under the hot light on the counter for 8 minutes & it’s not even busy. Cold burger solid bacon & £2.60 three small pieces of avocado that rock hard. Very disappointing! This place used to be good. Not coming again.

We ate at The Gallico Lounge in Lancaster last night, Saturday 5th October, and we had a great time, the food was lovely but what made the night great was the service and banter we had with the fabulous chap serving us. Regrettably we didn't ask his name, so thank you to whoever the person was serving us with dark hair and a woolly hat! You made our night, and extra special thanks for bringing us the water! 😉

Service staff here are genuinely enthusiastic and entertaining. Friendly with fulfilling food. My steak was done correctly and the chips are good too.

We are from the North East and was breakfasting with friends. If I lived in Helmshore as they do, we would eat there every day 😋 A wonderful transformation of an old factory. The whole experience was-a delight.

Just been for brunch.Looked like a nice oldy worldy place. I ordered Shakshuka.Which was two poached eggs on a tomato based sauce with spinach chickpeas and yogurt.Served with flatbread. Sounded nice. What i got was a bowl of warm chunky tomato soup,with floating chickpeas and spinach and a blob of yogurt.Floating in that were two very badly undercooked poached eggs. Two small pieces of flatbread on the side. And they expected me to eat it with a knife and fork.Should be on the soup menu.No sorry,should not be on any menu.I complained to the waiter.He said i will tell the manager. Quess what.Thats right,you've got it.Not a manager in sight.

Nice atmosphere, though the restuarant feels a bit lonely at times, waiting at the till to order could be improved - the staff receiving the orders also produce the drinks right after a order- which lengthens the time spent waiting by about 3x. Maybe it could be better if staff took all the orders first, then served the drinks in one go? The portion sizes are also a bit small for their price, which is relatively higher than the surrounding restuarants. The taste and aesthetics of the food was alright though. Overall, i think the place would benefit from a better ordering system at tills (no data in restuarant limits QR code scanning), and more generous portions. Thanks

I do love this chain of restaurants but I wish they would keep to the same rule you either stand and wait for a table or you find one yourself, I've not been to one were you have to wait for a long time so when we called in here I went to find a table,as I found one a man came over and told me off and said I had to wait at the door I was so embarrassed. Other than that the service from the other members of staff were fantastic especially the bar staff really nice to chat to,the food as always was gorgeous and the place itself was lovely,clean with a great atmosphere.

Been here a few times its always lovely food, quick service without feeling rushed. Hight recommend the poached eggs.

We ordered the food but it takes a while to come. The martini was the first thing comes up and get me totally wasted. So I guess the food is not bad?

Called in when on a cycle ride from Glasson Dock. Was very busy but got a seat outside. Although there were waiters, went to bar and got served straight away. My wife's wine glass was chilled with ice first before wine was poured in. Nice touch.

Very busy place even midday Sunday when we called. As we were having a drink outside in the sunshine we went to the bar ourselves so not sure about the quality of table service. We had beautifully chilled drinks. The inside is huge and suitable for large groups and families. It was a good place to sit and people watch so definitely worth calling in if only to check it out yourself and have a drink.

After visiting the branch in Kendal we decided to visit this one. Just as good, if not better. It's clearly popular as it was almost full. The service was good, drinks were quick and the food all came at the same time. We would definitely visit again. We also like being able to order from the app. Definitely recommend these lounges.

The food came really quickly and was very tasty. Best tapas I've had in the UK so far. The mojito could have done with being a bit sweeter.

Just popped in for pre dinner drinks buzzing atmosphere mainly younger clientele. Good range of drinks and proper cocktails not post mix.Good staff service and good greeting at door.

WOW.WOW.WOW!!!! The staff are amazing! Long story short, not the best of days. My eyes were leaking a lot when I was in the bar. The staff noticed, and were so very kind. Small gestures make a HUGE impact. Customer service, humanity & compassion. Oh and the food was awesome too. If you want to have a drink, a chat or food in a vibe Lancaster, this your place. The food there was quite good, you get a fair bit for relatively cheap and the restaurant itself is quite clean and spacious. It is very cosy and we do enjoy the food there. I do believe that the service is what drags the review down. I do understand that lunchtimes are busy but waiting 10 + minute for a coke and 20+ for a panini and butter chicken meal is a bit too much. It was just really slow and the food arrived at different times so when I received my food, my friend was already halfway through the dish. Moreover, the waiters did not come by once to ask us the customary “is everything okay” question. Which in itself is not an issue but they seemed to have asked this to other tables near us.

Fun place. Nice atmosphere, We have some friends find it a little "loud" due to the high ceilings. We like the tapas. Just enough to fill you up.

Have been here lots of times.. usually never had issues... this visit the food was cold. Was a shame as I do like this place.. it wasn't particularly busy for food, but may have been in that inbetween time of breakfast/lunch so the all day breakfast food items may have just been sat there a while but still...

Lovely savoury food! Highly recommend the burgers (they come with great fries, salad, slaw). The churros are quite awful though- they were basically stodgy chips (very little sugar, tasted like they'd used the wrong kind of batter) served with chocolate sauce that tasted like basic, bought choc sauce for ice creams. Apart from that, the atmosphere was great- super cool interior!

Love eating here, come regularly. Not table service unless you use your phone to order which a lot of the time doesn't work so you end up ordering at the bar. There's places in the area that are much better value for money but the food here is always really good and worth the extra small cost as you can guarantee a good meal and the order coming out correct. Staff are friendly and always show you to the seat, really good atmosphere and have never had any complaints out of the multiple times I've been here. Perfect for catching up with a friend or coming on a date.
