Excellent food, excellent service, excellent atmosphere. What else can I say. Lovely big restaurant, no need for booking. Four of us went for daughters birthday treat, could have done with a bigger table as we ordered so much! But it worked. Decor was beautiful. maître d was funny and great. Cannot wait to come back

Visited Galacia on Wednesday with a couple of friends. My first visit but one of group has visited often. The food was lovely and good portion sizes. Had to take home a doggy bag as our eyes were bigger than our bellies! Only grabbed a couple of photos as we were too busy shoveling food into our faces. The staff were attentive, good natured and funny. Would definitely visit again and try some of the other dishes.

I thought I would have a little treat for lunch. My bill came to 26,92 which for lunch is a little excessive. I have been visiting Thai restaurant for over 30 years. Never having a problem. I would usually leave a tip and have never been asked before. On the bill it has a service charge which was optional as I was a little more than I wanted to pay I decided I wouldn’t be paying the service charge. The cashier was very rude about it. Asking why I didn’t want to pay it. He asked if my Sevice was good. It was ok but not exceptional. I said that I usually leave a tip but had budgeted for this little treat but not the service charge. He says but we need that money as it’s our wages. We don’t get paid unless we get the service charge. I said that’s rubbish no one works for nothing. I have never been forced to pay the service charge. And you say it’s optional. The little treat I had now felt l shouldn’t have bothered. The cashier was rude and I won’t bother going back there again.

First time visiting here after living in the area for a while and I must say that the food and drink was really good and the portion sizes are really generous and we probably over-ordered, but at least we got to try a large variety of food. What let it down for us was the extremely high charge for appetisers when we ordered our drinks. We were asked if we liked some bread and said yes and it came with oil and olives. When the bill turned up, this combination came to nearly £20, so we decided not to pay the service charge out of principal. If you're going to offer bread, you need to be up front with people that they're paying for it firstly and that that all the extras will also be charged. It left a sour taste after a generally good experience.

We visited the restaurant last Sunday evening. Very traditional decor, reminds me of lovely restaurants we have eaten in out in Spain. Great waiters very helpful. We really enjoyed the food and wine. Would definately recommend and will return to eat next time we are staying in Croydon.

I went to dinner yesterday with a friend and her children, the service was very good and the food too, but the only thing was that they didn't have a children's menu,Otherwise everything was very good.

Been coming here for almost 30 years and never once have me or my family been offered a complimentary drink or recognition of our custom. We believe the food has deteriorated ove the last several years and it's a far cry from what it used to be when the first owner managed the restaurant. The current owner is mean, dismissive and greedy. Food is mediocre and standards dropped considerably along with price hikes. A terrible end to our decades of custom. We won't be coming back.

I have always loved & never been failed by this lovely eatery... The atmostphre & staff never fail to entertain and be attentive to your every need I only wish l could eat & drink 🥂more with each visit 🤗

We had lunch on Sunday. The service was good. Once we sit down, we were asked if we would like to have bread and olives. Both of them were nice. We ordered some tapas and Spanish Sangria. The food was not bad. But the sangria was lacking wine so it was not the best.

A lovely place visited for the works Christmas dinner. A good selection of both festive and non festive menus available. A number of the group decided on steak which appeared well cooked and of a large quantity. I opted for traditional roast turkey which came with all the expected trimmings. Pudding were large and flavoursome and staff were polite, attentive and friendly. The restaurant is large in size and can cater for larger groups. Overall a very enjoyable experience

Great lunch at the Galicia today. Excellent food, friendly and attentive staff, could not ask for more. 10 out of 10! Splendid tapas and good a la carte Christmas selection too.

Pretty good place considering the location. I've been twice and as a person who grew up in Barcelona the food is pretty decent. I'm not Galician and I can't say if it's original or not... but the bravas are always drowned in sauce, and they're not really eaten like that. Check the recipes and you will improve a lot. Finally, salsa IS NOT SPANISH MUSIC, it is Latin music.

Not what it used to be ... Profiteroles were almost stale, like hard dry biscuits. Flavours and taste seemed a bit insipid. Used to be the best around

A long established tapas bar with lots of choice. Good food, a little on the pricey side but first class service.

Returned here after while, still great authentic tapas. New manager and waiters, so had such excellent service. Definitely will be making it my regular go to restaurant! Would recommend the Cava, great smooth fizz.

Great service and fabulous food.. Worth a visit

Very mixed thoughts about my experience at Galicia recently. Me and my family came to celebrate my Mum’s birthday on a Friday night, which would imaginably be a busy night - for the restaurant also. However, the preparation in the build up, and also the service towards the end left a bad taste that justifies my 2 star rating. One day before, I made the booking with Galicia for 11 people, which included a baby, and a kid, so we would need space for a pram. However, the restaurant failed to take note of this, and we had to wait 10 minutes so that we could all be fully seated. The other issue we had was when we all finished our food and asked for it to be packed away. However, much of our items didn’t come back and were thrown away. This included a full plate of paella, the monkfish and some of the rabbit we had ordered. We paid a lot of money for the food we had and were really disappointed that a lot of it was thrown away. I did call the restaurant the next day to talk about this and although they were adamant they packed it, we were really disappointed with their response and outcome for what we paid for. I even remember quite the few times when I had ordered a drink, and nobody came until I mentioned my order again, so the service was relatively slow. I don’t want to give this restaurant a 1 star review though because the quality of the food was outstanding. I would consider coming back here for the food, but so much has to be improved from a personal perspective.

A true delight, great food wonderful service from waiters who really know there stuff. It’s a place that you can take your Gran your baby and each will be treated special. If you have not been get there now.

Really bad - order was delivered by push bike food was cold and leaked everywhere! Missing items that totalled £10 the restaurant just doesn’t answer and then hangs up on you when you try and get missing items Just Eat not interested in helping not enough information!! So no food and no refund terrible service

I love this place and it's staff. I've been coming here for 16 years and haven't a bad word to say. The food is lovely and the staff are very friendly. Here's to 16 more years! :)

I recently visited Galicia to pick up a takeaway, and I had a truly awful experience. As soon as I entered, a staff member approached me, muttered some comments under their breath, and then walked off without offering any help, clearly assuming I was a Deliveroo driver (racist undertones maybe, but clearly was hostile for whatever reason) The rudeness and lack of basic courtesy were shocking. Safe to say, I won't be going back anytime soon.

Great service. Portions are huge - you don’t need to order as much as you think you do. Staff are lovely and kind. Thanks for a lovely evening.

It's definitely worth visiting, tasty food, fast and nice customer service, and a friendly atmosphere. The only downside is that it's sometimes loud, so I recommend bringing headphones.

Good food but bad staff! They don’t care about client needs! 8 months pregnant craving paella waiting 1h to get nothing because the kitchen “is closing “ I don’t recommend it!

Big portion of food.The seasoning of the meals was good.The service was attentive and just right. The main course was heavy and we were too full to eat dessert. We enjoyed our dinner here. We would love to visit again.

Gorgeous restaurant in South Croydon with friendly staff and an amazing menu! Been several times and will keep returning.

Have lived in Croydon for over 14yrs, always telling myself to come here, so glad I finally did! Very much a family run restaurant (it feels) so you're warmly welcomed. Menu is huge, some great tapas and house specials to choose from (particularly recommend the mushrooms stuffed with spinach and garlic). Wine selection was good too. We didn't know our Spanish wines very well so the team there can help you choose. By 7.30pm the restaurant was easily 60-70% full and the buzz makes it a great atmosphere. Highly recommend.

The food quality was affected by the long delivery time. We had to reheat. Food was ok but not what you would get by going to the restaurant. The driver picked up our food and then went to various other destinations before delivering our food.

The best tapas in Surrey hands down, on top of that they have Superbock on tap🍺and home made deserts!

A great Spanish tapas restaurant with Hispanic waiters happy for you to order in English or Spanish. Gave it a four overall as there was a small hair in my salad but it didn’t spoil the meal and we have been there countless times and the service is always flawless. Watch out for awkward opening times and would recommend the chanquetes (whitebait) off their lunch menu.

The food is fantastic however I was not impressed after being asked if we wanted some bread to be charged £3.10 per person for it! Crazy amount of money for not very good bread (bit dry) - if you are going to charge for bread put the price on the menu at least. I felt a bit conned to be honest! I have still put a good rating as the rest of the food was very good.

There's a reason this restaurant has been a mainstay of Croydon for such a long time. The food is very good, the service excellent, reasonably priced and a fun atmosphere. With such a diverse menu, we know they'll have something that will suffice, whatever mood we're in. We are now regulars, what more can you ask of a restaurant really? What would I recommend? Try it all, you won't be disappointed. (Keep an eye on the specials board, just had the rabbit last week, so good!)

Really tasty, good quality food and good prices

Never ever fails to make us want to come back again. The staff always make my mother who is 84 feel like a queen, as soon as we go through the door someone is there to take her to our table. Always greeted by a friendly smile. We go often, so the staff generally know what we like, unless we ask them to recommend something, which normally ends up as one of our new favourites. Great atmosphere, when busy some may think its a Iittle loud, but that's exactly what you will find in good Spanish restaurant, people talking, laughing and enjoying themselves. All in all good value,great staff, fantastic food.

Whilst the food and ambiance was generally okay, the service let this place down. The waiter would point at you and prod you physically to get your attention. When they accidently served my drink twice it became my fault/that I wasn't drinking quick enough. The waiter was also serving desserts was also seen locking his fingers before plating up. It was clear that the waiter gave zero care about me nor the rest of the party. This place has a lot of potential to be a nice place, it is a shame one individual makes this place barely 2-3 stars.

Friday fiasco. We waited 40 minutes for nothing. They didnt even look at us, take our name for reservation, or offered us menus. We stood there for 30 minutes with lots of people in line before we finally said "we have a reservation for 18:30" and the guy just stood there, didnt even apologise and made gestures to the tables saying "there is no table, will sit you when we can" as if it is our fault that we cannot find seats. There was no organisation as some people seem to be waiting for ages and some people just walking in. No one taking names down. There were tables at the back empty, not sure if they were reserved and bartending staff just chilling so I really dont know what happened. Not sure if we just came on a day when they didn't have a manager or short staff. Was really looking forward to the food and I travelled almost an hour for this. Didn't feel like they wanted us there.

A great, long established Spanish restaurant near the heart of Croydon. It's got an authentic atmosphere and fantastic food.

You couldn't pay me to enter this establishment again. Booked my family for mother day for 16.30. Got there at 16.15, wasn't met by anyone. Waited and waited only for the waiter to be rude to another guest who wasn't happy about the wait time. Tried to order a drink while we waited, had to wait for that too, about 15 minutes. After waiting 45min after my booking, the waiter was once again rude to me and accused me of inpatients and rude to him. We left immediately.

Our experience in this restaurant was just terrible. We arrived for our reservation early, we’re not greeted. My husband asked very politely how long our table would be and was told to wait at the bar, whereby again we ignored when attempting to get a drink. As much as I appreciate it was a very busy time after I was disappointed that even after patiently waiting for 40 minutes no member of staff approached us and when my husband tried to enquire how long the wait would be the member of staff was incredibly rude. We left and went elsewhere. I would not recommend this establishment!

This was one of the best places to get good food. I found some of the food a bit stale like it had been cooked a few days ago. It could have been an off dish. However, it's not a cheap place to eat, so would expect consistency across all dishes. First class services and drinks, but it was a tad cold.

Its a very nice casual dining place, with really good food. Loved the Marinated Lamb and Wild Boar. Great seafood options as well! Wish you guys did some cocktails as well!

Been coming here since we moved to Croydon and the food, service and atmosphere have always been incredible. Staff are friendly and attentive, food is served quickly and fresh. Portions are HUGE! We bring friends and family here and everyone always enjoys everything. Will always recommend to anyone and everyone.

I've been going to this place for almost 25 years but I'm afraid it has gone downhill considerably in recent years. The prices are through the roof, quality not as good as years ago. It's also very quiet in comparison to the way it was when Pepe used to run it!

Highly recommend! Always amazing food, attentive and friendly service, and great atmosphere. The tapas portions are big, and always cooked to perfection. Our favourites are always the grilled lamb, meatballs and paella. We bring friends and family here and everyone loves the food.

Service needs attention to detail, sat with an empty glass for too long, had to ask for another. The food was not bad it was the excessive use of oil that made it not very appetising, rather awful. Gave me no reason to return. Lovely atmosphere though and pleasant staff.

Spent £71 and the food was disgusting . Lamb cutlets tasted like it was dipped in washing up liquid . Monk fish tasted old . Squid tasted like rubber . Will never go there again …

The restaurant is pretty big and has many tables so it’s pretty easy to find one. The menu is long and has many options. However, if you are Spanish or looking to taste authentic Spanish cuisine this isn’t really your place - we felt like food is more adapted to the British taste (garlic prawns weren’t garlicky at all, ali-oli wasn’t authentic, more like garlic mayo and so on). Chicken croquettes were nice but lacking bechamel sauce, felt more like chicken nuggets rather than a creamy spanish croquette. The potatoes omelette was a bit dull and they didn’t even ask if we wanted it runnier or well done (as a Spanish person, I like it quite runny). Calamares a la romana (calamari) were also quite dull, the batter wasn’t great. Oysters were delicious though. We also waited for the food for nearly 50/55 minutes - it was a Saturday night around 8ish pm but we would’ve appreciated being informed of the waiting time by the waitresses. It’s not a bad restaurant at all and it’s definitely worth it to give it a go but please take this as a constructive opinion coming from Spanish people so you can improve some bits :)

Service was very slow, food was very poor. I’ve been going to this restaurant for over 25 years, and haven’t been for a while. They have very much lost their way on customer service and hospitality in general. I do hope it improves

From the get go it seemed lovely, there was two parties there, they were under stress which I respect that it can be stressful. But the food was absolutely disgusting. How can you serve a grey steak and then say that there is nothing wrong with it? Bluebottles and fruit flies were EVERYWHERE;I spent more time fanning flies away from our food than I did eating. Food was bland and tasteless, prawns still had their intestines inside, we was told "this is how it is done in galicia" I don't believe it for one minute. Do you serve faecal matter to customers? Someone please tell me if that's true. After we complained about our food the male waiter was horrible. ( I must mention I did apologise and say that I don't mean to be rude). Cherry on the top? I've now got stomach cramps and have been in and out of the toilet at least 5 times. The one star I have given is a bit of a stretch for this restaurant.

Absolutely delighted with the tapas, very lovely place with a great variety. I heard the sangria is amazing, but we haven't ordered that (yet). Grilled sardines definitely a delight!

Went in here with a couple of friends. Had a great experience. The food was good. We had various tapas. They have a good selection of spirits and beers. Nice atmosphere. Stayed for about two and a half hours. Would have stayed longer, but it was getting late.

Popped in here after the Croydon Food Festival on Sunday after 6.00pm so the atmosphere was not busy. Staff were welcoming, hospitable and jovial. Food and service was excellent. Will go back again in the future to hopefully enjoy a better vibe with more customers.
