Ordered a pizza from this place last night. Absolutely delicious! Very authentic, it arrived super quick and loaded with toppings. Would definitely recommend this, if you are looking for a nice authentic Italian pizza. Thank you! Will be back again! :)

We had just an amazing evening here. We hadn't booked, but despite there being a large party in, were able to get a table for the 3 of us on Saturday evening. The staff were fantastic, service was really good too and the food was just what we were looking for. Can highly recommend this restaurant, and the baked mushroom starter !

This spot is a great location in Swindon ( Old town) Great hosts and great food really enjoyed everything about gaetano’s. Great date night as a couple. We had 3 courses, it was all perfect and we both highly recommend it.

A delightful, authentic smaller Italian restaurant in Old Town. A traditional setting offers a pleasant experience with friendly Italian staff. We loved the ambiance and felt like we were in Italy itself! The food was very good, we both had pasta which was plentiful and tasty. I would highly recommend.

Gaetanos - what can I say? Other than Superb. Carlo is a fantastic host , the food is fantastic. I would recommend the entire menu but you can’t go wrong if you stick with the specials. Tonight’s special starter, Stuffed pepper was a meal on its own. My wife and I discovered Gaetanos this year after being frequent fliers at another Italian in old Town . Wish we had found Gaetanos sooner. The food is fantastic and you will never go hungry!

Came here with my girlfriend after suggestion of our hotel, Place it's clean and we love the decor! we had a pasta and a pizza both very tasty and a superb homemade tiramisù at the end! Great friendly service and management, Also price was very good...Fantastic!

This venue is beautiful. We booked for a party of approx 25 ladies for a baby shower. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was amazing! Beautifully cooked selection of starters, mains of various pastas and freshly cooked italian pizza! The staff are very helpful and polite. Would definitely recommend this venue to anyone for both parties and a cosy meal with friends and family. Thank you for a wonderful experience! We will certainly be visiting again.

The starter of calamari was ok. The meal was really let down by the main. I had the chicken and mushroom pasta. The ‘chicken’ in the pasta was the cheap pre sliced chicken that comes in packets from supermarket. It was clearly just added to the sauce. Unfortunately, sauce was watery and lacked flavour.

My wife and I stumbled upon Gaetano's while searching for another well known Italian restaurant. And we're glad we found this gem first! We ordered fillet steaks and I can honestly say that I've never eaten a more generous, perfectly cooked fillet steak in my entire life! What a joy!! Sadly, we were only on a temporary visit to Swindon and live over a hundred miles away, otherwise this restaurant would feature very high on my 'return to' list. The owner (who also doubles as the chef) is clearly a very talented chef and the very least I could do for such a sumptious meal and wonderful evening is to leave a fitting recommendation. Very highly recommended indeed!

My wife phoned the restaurant to book a table and use the dine card app as advertised. The guy on the phone said they no longer accept the card and asked if we still wanted to come but before we could discuss it the guy hung up

I've came across many many "Italian" restaurants ...But this one takes the Grand Prize!! Food bursting with flavor!! Exactly how it should be! Most restaurants when the food gets to the table you still have to season it ! i get it.. different people..different tastes.. but mine arrived to the table without needing a single pinch of salt! Perfect! And the fresh basil that makes the dish just espectacular

Our family has been visiting Gaetano for over 30 years and we have spent many happy times enjoying the authentic food and hospitality. Carlo and his team really pulled out all the stops to accommodate a 60th birthday celebration recently for 22 people, the food was amazing as always, service with a smile and great value, nothing was too much trouble - special thank you from all the family. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I don't think I've ever had a pizza with so little cheese on it! And very little tomato sauce, so basically got just oily vegetables on bread - not tasty. Sorry, but I'm very disappointed with this delivery.

Firstly the owner Carlo is absolutely so friendly and welcoming actually nice guy. The young lady serving the drinks also so beautiful and friendly . This place is situated in the victoria hill area of swindon there is a public carpark a few steps away . So starters my mum had grilled aubergine stack which consists of grilled aubergine then mozzarella and its like a stack then a lovely tomato base sauce and i had calamari and the rest had mushrooms starters. Mains we all had steaks different ones with different sauces So i recommend the fillet steak with a sauce of your own choose or if you're a vegetarian then they had variety of pasta. The place is cosy and very italian inside they also do private functions. I would say the place can hold sitting about 50 people . I would recommend you book if its a weekend . They open mainly night times only. I would like to thank the staff for making our experience at Gaetanos a good one

Attended a family birthday party in the function room. Friendly & welcoming staff & comfortable surroundings nicely arranged for the party. Food was presented “Meze” style all hot very tasty & ample portions. Lovely pasta dishes & very tasty risotto & then the Pizzas arrived...

We arrived at the stipulated time and had our meal 1 hour and 40 minutes later. Would not go there again. Only 1 waiter and another person clearing tables and the place was full. Eventually when the food arrived it was nothing to write home...

Maybe the other pizzas are okay. But the prawn one was absolutely horrendous. Frozen prawns added on top, so the top of the pizza was covered in water. Persevered through. Didn’t realise until half way through that the prawns tasted like they were off. Friends...

I attended this restaurant with my family to celebrate my birthday and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was delicious and service was brilliant, would definitely visit again.

Our family visited last night and had a fab time, staff were really welcoming and friendly. The food was authentic and really tasty. Its really reasonably priced and nice big portions too. It was one of our birthdays and they kindly bought out a tiramisu with a candle in and sang happy birthday which was a nice touch. All round great place and will be visiting again.

Food was ok wouldn’t rush back. We ordered our food and two minutes later our starters was out, they took our starters away and our mains were out. We would of just liked a bit of a break and doesn’t feel the food was as fresh..all the waiters were great!

Visited for the first time a few weeks ago and was not disappointed. Absolutely loved it there.. I had one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had, really friendly and welcoming staff and the food was super quick to come out too. Will definitely be revisiting and would urge everyone else to do so too!

Still the best pizza in town and it seems word has spread during lockdown! Went to the restaurant for our favourite go to place for pizza. A lovely meal out as although a bit of a delay in it being served, probably due to the constant ins and outs of delivery drivers. This won't stop me from going to the restaurant, as the business is purely adapting to the new normal!

Delivery was fast, food was hot, risotto creamy and pizza was delicious! We would definitely order again soon.

Visited using a Groupon deal. Staff were friendly and made us feel very welcome. Starters were good, in particular the whitebait and fried mushrooms. The food was absolutely incredible. I had the spaghetti carbonara and my boyfriend had a pizza. Both came out impeccable. Full of taste, very hot, very delicious. The food came out in a fair amount of time, I’m assuming it was cooked fresh and so didn’t come out too quick but wasn’t at all slow, an average amount of time I would say. The only area of improvement I would slightly pick at is the service. While the people were lovely and very friendly, they weren’t very attentive, we were sat for about 15/20 minutes after having finished our mains, which would be completely understandable but as we were one of two tables in the restaurant and the waiter was mainly stood talking to, I’m assuming friends, on the other table, 15/20 minutes is a long time to be waiting for plates to be cleared on an empty Tuesday evening. Still not a bad experience and would still 100% go back because the food is simply incredible. Props to the chef !!

Nice place. I took my other half here for a meal and we were greeted warmly and promptly. Alex takes his business seriously and it shows. The meal was great value and I found the Pizza excellent. My partner had only good things to say about the Carbonara. The value of the food i felt was very reasonable.We will be back.Thanks to Alex and the team at Gaetano.

Friends who live in Swindon recommenced this restaurant to us and I trusted this recommendation and believe me when I say it was out of this world.Firstly, the service given when you walk through the door is like going back in time when all was great in this country!Carlo knows how to run a business and everything from customer service to the decor (truly Italian), the ordering and meal service, the drinks and the minimal staff are 100%.We have been in restaurants that have loads of staff but you receive poor service. Carlo takes your order, serves you and also cooks and then makes sure all is ok with all to the highest standard!The food is served promptly as are the drinks and is served hot.The main reason for my review is that I have NOT had such a fantastic fillet steak in 30 odd years as I received in this restaurant! Cooked to absolute perfection and the highest quality steak I have had also. The sauce is spectacular and the vegetables were cooked as they should be, which is al dente.Because we had to wait for the wonderful Alex who makes the cocktails, Carlo gave us a drink on the house. Who would do that these days, but Carlo does!The cocktails were out of this world and they were kind enough to give us the recipe which I refuse to share!Nutshell: I haven’t experienced this type of customer service, food drinks and most of all, a truly wonderful experience that comes from the heart and doesn’t break the bank.I would travel the 1/12 hours to Swindon from Northampton just to eat at this fabulous restaurant as it’s top notch. 100%.Thank you to Carlo and his minimal staff.

If you want Italian food, you are spoilt for choice in Swindon as there are so many good Italian restaurants. However, if you want the best Italian restaurant, there is only one stop: Gaetano’s. This beats all the others hands down!We’ve eaten at all the Italians in Swindon and have returned here quite a few times now. Tonight was the true test, though, as we took our five year old for the first time (she’s rather difficult to please when it comes to food!). We usually go for pasta or risotto (just divine) but, tonight, we opted for pizza. Our five year old declared this ‘the best cheesy pizza ever!’ (she had margherita); we had the Americana and would have to echo her sentiment - it was just delicious.The desserts are equally tasty: we would highly recommend the profiteroles and tiramisu (believe me, we’ve had many from around the world - we know what we’re talking about!).The chef is amazing here. Clearly a culinary genius and easily rivals the dishes we eat in Italy. The staff are really friendly, too. The decor is beautiful and the menu is reasonably priced. There is really nothing to fault here.We will be visiting regularly. So impressed!

We have been going to Gaetano’s for about 30 years, a big welcome every time, real Pizzas not necessarily perfectly round but always tasty, if you prefer predictable shaped expensive food this will be a new experience, just go for it!

Have been there twice in the last six weeks, one was booked and the other not. Both times we received a warm welcome. Left a while to choose drinks and food. Range of wines good and all drinks served in good time. Atmosphere both times was friendly and relaxed.

Delicious vegan pizza tonight at Gaetanos, and the risotto vegetariana was amazing too - just ask what they can do, even if it's not on the menu! Followed by lemon sorbet and tiramisu. Great value at under £30.

Came to Swindon for a meeting and stayed in a local hotel. Popped in here with some friends and what a great idea that was!!! Small traditional Italian with a clean and kind atmosphere. Food was amazing and portions great. 3 course meal for 4 split to £30 each. Bargain! Highly recommend. Swindon you are lucky to have this.

Terrible food really disappointing, been eating here for year's, won't ever eat from this restaurant again, the manager also needs to go on a customer service course, very rude little man.

I’ve been here 3 times in the last 2 months and it never disappoints. Amazing, friendly, attentive staff who leave you to enjoy your meal. I’ve been to other Italians in the town who hover whilst you are eating to hurry you along! There is nothing more annoying. Here, you can take your time and enjoy the company and the food at your own pace. Food is brought to the table piping hot and is full of flavour...nothing is too much trouble. By far the BEST Italian in the town .

2 of us had organised a volunteers outing for approx. 45 people and the service we received from start to end was brilliant. From the first phone call with all the enquiries we had until the moment we left after the event, everything was as we hoped!

I am still a fan of Gaetanos and happy to go back whenever. The latest meal was as good as ever and we enjoyed the updated menu which has a classy feel to it. The food was excellent as always with great service.

An early (7pm) dinner for two. I ate pork saltimbocca and Marion ate chicken parmigiana. Both meals were excellent. The staff are friendly. Two meals and a very decent bottle of house wine and a very reasonable bill at the end of it.

Since the first time I took my girlfriend on the first date to now being married and still going there for meals I cannot ask for a better Italian restaurant! The staff are amazing and the food is even better! Carlo is such a nice guy and would do anything for you to make sure your experience at the restaurant is the best it can be! He recently made me 5 huge pizzas for my daughters christening and cannot believe how nice they were! The amount of complements we received on the day about them was amazing! Thank you again Carlo.

Very happy with the service provided for me and my friends At Geatano’s resturant last week! We were all slightly sceptical about how good the table service would be on a Saturday night at prime time in Oldtown, but we were plesentley surprised how Attentive, kind and friendly the service we all received was (even being with a group of 8). Would highly recommend anyone living or visiting Swidon to give it a try!!!

Just got back from Gaetano's, just the wife and I. Prompt, polite and friendly service from start to finish. Food was excellent, well presented and very hot. We both had the breaded mushrooms with garlic dip followed by the Lasagne with a side order of garlic bread. Not overcrowded tonight maybe due to wet weather but the ambience was still OK. A really enjoyable evening and the car park is just round the corner in Prospect Place. Well worth a visit.

I recently visited Gaetano restaurant with 2 of my friends. Upon arrival we were greeted instantly by a welcoming owner. Service was good, I had steak which was seasoned well and tasted lovely. Side vegetables were also very tasty. Location is also very convenient as I live in old town. Overall great experience, I will definitely be revisiting the restaurant soon.

This has got to be my favourite Italian in Swindon by a country mile, I go here all the time with friends and family and we’re all treated preferctly, the food always come fresh and piping hot (it’s also very tasty) I got a steak dish for my main last time I went and it was so tender and juicy with delicious peppercorn sauce. Would 1000% recommend here for a lovely meal wether it’s with your partner, family or friends.

Last came here about 4 years ago and and never really thought of a return visit but we had a busy day and didn't really feel like cooking so we thought we would give it a go using a Groupon voucher. We were given the set menu and both opted for Bruschetta as starter with spaghetti carbonara as main, both courses were lovely, the carbonara was very tasty and we really enjoyed it. I will definately be going back for more soon

A very busy place...service slow. Starter of deep fried mushrooms was most probably the best of the 3 courses. Main meal was Chicken Breast with spinach and mushroom, which was absolutely tasteless. Vegetables cold...all from freezer I would think...potato reheated. Dessert of cheesecake with Aerosol cream..was also awful...and the other desserts friends had were also left. Will not be returning.

The Pollo Delizia was anything but delicious. Bland. Presentation awful. My wife's pasta dish lacked the normal Italian taste, little or no garlic! The noise level of other diners made the whole eating experience disappointing

A return visit to this lovely authentic Italian restaurant. The sound of Italian music entices you through the door - and once in you could be in Italy. A warm welcome greeting from the owner Carlo, great food, and great experience. We had mussels and mushrooms in blue cheese sauce as a specialty of the day starter, pizza and escalope of pork in mushroom sauce which came with little roast potatoes, and fresh vegetables, then for dessert a lovely light chocolate fudge cake which was a specialty of the day. To accompany we had nice wine followed by limoncello and coffee. There is a large choice on the menu with specialties of the day in addition.

After booking for groupon we were excited to try a new italian in Swindon. Unfortunately the food left us dissapointed. We both had garlic bread to start which was basic and uninspiring (even for garlic bread). For our mains we had carbonara, which consisted of over cooked pasta, unseasoned cream sauce and flavourless bacon. The other main we ordered was a calzone, whilst this had more flavour than the carbonara, the meat was obviously sourced very cheaply, and thus lacked the flavour you might expect.
