Frew's Traditional Fish & Chip Shop Sit-In Or Take Away in Ballymena

Stopped here for an easy tea and not disappointed. We had fish suppers and the fish was so good. Light batter not greasy. The fish white and flaked easily. Chips equally good. It would have been nice to have sat in their chippy to eat but sadly not under the present circumstances. Can’t wait to return.

This place has got far far too expensive for what you get. £5.25 for a single fish with 3 chips. They have just lost another customer I won't be coming back here.

Found myself working in Ahoghill for the day and was glad to find this cosy little chip shop and diner. Tasty food, friendly staff and pleasant surroundings. Would definitely call in again next time I'm in town.

Been twice now not impressed can't say that there's anything wrong with the food quality but quantity very poor not really worth the prices, have found other chip shops same price parhaps better deals and lots more food for your money. Just had a chicken fillet burger for instance very thin and small chicken fillet. A family member had a verity box very small thin chicken joujons and small pastie and a small chip. Everythings small, small portions etc.

Took my 2 boys here for a quick bite one evening. We all thought the food was really lovely. Would defo return.

Had food from here last night chips not fresh and cold my cheese pattie cold and none of it eat able disgusting should be ashamed selling food like that

Food is always amazing here and staff are friendly too esp the owner!! Have tried quite a few different things from the menu and would reccomend it all!!

Old Block? - Traditional! I happened to come across the restaurant by accident as I was stopping in the village to check my location en route to Portstewart. I'd stopped opposite the restaurant and it simply invited me in! Upon entering I was immediately impressed with the look of the restaurant and the lovely ambiance it offered. Both the take away and sit in sections were spotlessly clean and the staff were friendly and efficient. I had a sit in meal which was well prepared, presented and lovely to eat. As I was about to leave Mrs Frew approached me and asked if I had enjoyed my meal. I had no hesitation telling her that my answer was a big 'Yes!' Mrs Frew was pleasant, friendly and made me feel very welcome. This, my 1st visit to the restaurant, will not be my last one because I love quality food sold at a very fair price.

It's way too overpriced. You can get same thing about a mile down the road for a lot less and it tastes better. Only be back if nowhere else was opened. Staff weren't exactly friendly either and couldn't be bothered to serve me.

I had the Breakfast Bap today, Bacon, Egg & Sausage and a lovely mug of tea.... Nicely cooked and presented and the staff are excellent. I eat here regular and the place is Awesome, it never disappoints me.....

Staff preaching religion in your face by saying 'amen' and 'God bless' also staff not in full uniform, wearing black skinny jeans and jeans with rips. This is a serious health hazard.

These guys know their stuff. The food is excellent fresh and non greasy. The staff are lovely and the premises are very clean and tidy. I always get Fish Goujons or Chicken Kebab with house sauce. They fry the Goujons from fresh and cook the chicken from fresh. I hate it when shops reheat chicken... Brilliant Chippy all around..

Got a cracking feed out of Frew's chippy in Ahoghilll. Staff and very friendly and helpful. Will be back soon

The Frew's know how to serve up top quality fish and chips, as well as burgers and their kebabs are excellent! A favourite chip shop and make a point of calling in anytime I'm in the village

Yo estaba en Ahoghill y fuimos a la tienda para preguntar por el camino y me di cuenta lo limpio y moderno las instalaciones y el personal eran padre e hija eran de lo más servicial en darnos información sobre el camino. Luego tuvimos 1 1/2 horas de espera, ya que era trabajar un poco a mi coche y como eran las 2.30 pm caminamos de regreso a la tienda y tenía un sentarse. El pescado era el bacalao fresco encantador con un rebozado ligero y las patatas fritas estaban secas y no grasa. Tenía un poco de ensalada fresca, baps mantequilla y té. Mejor pescado y patatas fritas que tuve en mucho tiempo. Sin duda volveremos.

Cuando entré en esta tienda de chips que me hicieron sentir como en casa desde el principio. Luego el servicio fue con una sonrisa. La comida era estupenda. No nos podemos quejar de ninguna manera. Uno de los mejores.

Eat at Frews quite often and only once was the food disappointing. As the food is cooked fresh you have a small wait and at busy times it is better to phone up and order in advance. The staff are lot friendly and helpful.Would recommend the fish and their strawberry milkshakes are BRILL. The only suggestion I have is that they don't seem to have very many special deals which would benefit their customers.Generally a really good chippie !!!!

Good quality, freshly cooked and best of all delicious fast food. Having visited once before and having an ok meal I hadn't been here since it first opened. So I'm putting that experience down to initial teething problems

Went in here for a take away, woman asks atleast ten times "Sorry what was that", none of female cooking staff with long hair wearing a hairnet, The Hygene rating was for the previous business in the address so it shows they haven't passed possibly. Teenage customers get off with being abusive to other customers the staff claim "we don't care its all money at the end of the day". Raw onion becomes fried onion can't they tell the difference?NEVER WANNA RETURN
